Planning ahead for Christmas! December bus starting far too early...

Hi All,

Anyone else around for the Dec bus yet? I think AF has managed to kick me off Nov already as she has arrived a few days early, and my cycle will probably mean she is next due at the beginning of Dec rather than Nov.

So does anyone else want to climb on board and help me hang tinsel and drink mulled wine to while away the time until that bfp in Dec?

Yes I'm also loving the idea of our bus being the coca cola bus!!!! :)

And also the fact that December is such an amazing time!!! Really does take the pressure off ttc as it's such a happy and busy month with lots of shopping, Christmas markets, parties, wrapping and time with loved ones!!! So December is going to be a very happy time for me and all of you I hope ;) and if we get a BFP.....well wouldn't that just be the cherry on top ;)

lucyfluff · 18/11/2013 09:55

Awww punky I'm feeling the same. A coughing DS last night who came in with us = a tired mummy!! Why are nightimes worse?! Lol

Lol mama your have to give the cream a go...yummy but I did feel a bit sick after! Me and my sis are terrible when we get together, act like such children lol!!

I'm full of cold too this morning so glad AF is here for a couple of days because I'm so not up for dtd atm! Poor DH ;)

Ooooo and I actually saw a house with Xmas lights on yesterday!!! How mental is that!! Own up girls....who was it??! Lol

Karmalaa · 18/11/2013 10:09

hello everyone, ready for another week?

cherieblossom I had the exact same conversation with my DP and he was amazed that I'd put so much thought into school years, it really tickled him.

I'm having a funny one this month ladies and I'd love anyone's input! AF packed up and left on Wednesday/Thursday, in a bid to do anything and everything to aid TTC I decided to start taking evening primrose oil prior to ov. Well, initially I had an increase in cm which is what I expected from other people's experience, but since Saturday i've had ewcm by the bucket load, exactly as if i was about to ov (which shouldn't be until next week!) has anyone had similar experiences?

I've stopped taking it now because I felt like it was messing with things and as my temperature shot up this morning I don't know what's happening.

Any thoughts gladly welcomed!

HollyBen · 18/11/2013 10:22

As I am still waiting for AF to return post MC (almost 10 weeks ago Confused) I monitoring the buses progress and hoping it'll get to my stop so I can board soon. I might jump on for some hot chocolate with extra cream and to admire the decorations though. I will bring with me some fairy lights made of BFPs and lots of salted caramel fudge - not exactly Christmassy but I discovered it is Tesco few weeks ago and ate the whole box in one sitting

Ellisisland · 18/11/2013 10:39

Hi everyone I start ovulation testing on Wednesday this week. Need to get some sleep if I am going to be DTD a lot soon! DS had a cough so ended up sleeping in with us. Then woke up screaming at 3am so we were watching Bob the Builder by 4!!

Am feeling very positive for everyone on this bus! I got given a medela swing breast pump for free yesterday so surely that's a sign right ?!!

Cherieblossom · 18/11/2013 11:37

karmalaa so what have you decided to do?
To ttc?
I would rather start with the November/December bus than the dec/January one because I have a bad memory of that one last year. I had a miscarriage after becoming pregnant around Xmas/new year. And we haven't tried since. This is our next attempt and fingers crossed it will go well..
I think I might freak out if I become pregnant on the same cycle this time.

Anyway even if I decide to ttc, DH is quite stressed at work at the moment so I have to use my special charms to make him dtd. (I baked a Xmas cake for him this weekend!!)

Girls you really cheer me up btw. Everyone seems to be as bonkers as I am here when it comes to babies, it feels great to have a place where to vent! Thank you all Smile

rockin20s · 18/11/2013 11:53

Can 1 jump on and wait for the January bus,

We haven't really been trying so far, got married in September and we are going on honeymoon in December, I am due AF on the 12th of December, we are not trying this month due to the honeymoon

But I should be ovulating on Christmas day! We are officially trying from then on wards so I suppose I should be on the January bus as I will be due AF around the 8th?

Stats : 28yrs, TTC cycle 1, AF Due January 8th

Karmalaa · 18/11/2013 12:03

Hi cherieblossom it has been on my mind a lot, I was a November baby and always felt that things were easier for me at school than my sister (she was an August baby). But there were lots of things that were different about us, I was up and walking at 9 months whereas my sister had me (4 years her senior) to carry her around so didn't walk properly until she was more than a year old.

That said, now we're adults there's no noticable difference in our abilities, I am much more academic and she is much more practical, but there's no saying we wouldn't be just the same if i'd have been an August baby too. My parents always did "pre-school" activities with us meaning we had begun to read, write and count before starting school, i guess that makes an impact.

We're going to keep on trying this month but it is something to keep in mind when/if I see that BFP!

Cherieblossom · 18/11/2013 12:43

karmalaa walking at 9 months old is v early! Both of my kids walked at 13 months old.
It sounds to me like you would have been a clever cookie whenever you were born!

Karmalaa · 18/11/2013 12:50

cherieblossom I was just nosey I think, determined to get up and about and into as much stuff as I could. I drove my parents mad never wanting to nap or sleep at night, they always joked that I was afraid I was missing something. I'm the same now, always the last one to bed and the first one up. I hope my future babies don't inherit that from me!

mumtoacub · 18/11/2013 14:25

Can I join ladies ttc#2 about to start cycle 7!!! AF arrived today a week late I was half expecting it though, anyway onwards and upwards bfp due 16/12. What a Xmas present that would be!!!

skybluegirl33 · 18/11/2013 16:37

Please may I hop on board, just been thrown off the November bus by an evil cow called AF??! Good to see some familiar names on this bus but hoping we'll all bet our BFPs soon.

My stats now are ttc#1 cycle 5 BFP due Dec 14th. At least I now know with monitoring my cycle in depth that I definitely ovulate every month on cd14/15 with a cycle length of 27/28 days. Hopefully just a matter of time now!

ImaginaryHat · 18/11/2013 18:41

Ooh lots of people jumping on board today, welcome! Grab a mulled wine and make yourselves comfy!

Got the rest of my blood results back off the doc today. I'm normal, hurrah! While she was checking hcg I asked if they could test anything else ttc wise for piece of mind, so she's done thyroid, liver, kidney, iron and the suite of hormones they test for (whatever they are!) and she said all are in the normal range, which is really reassuring.

Good luck to everyone joining, the more Xmas bfps the better!

Stats updated I hope... This bus conducting is a busy business! Just as well I have just gone part time at work... (long story).

Howly congratulations! That is what I like to see Smile! I hope you have a happy, healthy and wonderful pregnancy!!

More bfps now please!

I'm hopelessly confused as to what my cycle is doing now. I oved on cd 25 last month, but only had 3 days of ewcm. So far I've had 4 days of ewcm and am on cd20 today, but opks & clearblue both showing negative/low. I'm taking B6 this month (50mg) but I'm not sure if that influences it?

barmybunting · 18/11/2013 20:47

Welcome to everyone who has joined us! I have been knitting christmas jumpers to add to the pile - would anyone like to pick one from the basket I'm passing around?

Mine has a snowman with a big pompom nose!

Sorry if that means that AF has kicked you off the Nov bus. It had better be because you are on the best bus of all, the Christmas/New Year cheer shall be going here!

We wish you a big fat positive, we wish you a big fat positive, and a happy pregnancy... It fits nicely to the tune!

SaraRB123 · 18/11/2013 20:49

SaraRB123 · 18/11/2013 20:50

barmybunting · 18/11/2013 21:08

SaraRB123 I like upgraded, they have been upgraded because of all our fabulous new passengers... and the first BFP to appear! I realise Howly has a Nov BFP but we are also celebrating you as a Dec early starter if that's ok Howly! Smile

ImaginaryHat · 18/11/2013 21:15

Ha lucy that's exactly what my dh said too!

Thanks bus conductor Barmy, gonna be a busy month to be conductor! The b6 can delay ovulation, I was taking 100mg previously and it was fine the 1st month I used it, but really messed me up the second month. I think its just a matter of working out what's the right dose for your body. Last month I didnt take any up til ov then took 30mg after. I think I'm gonna do the same, or up it to 50 after ov next time. Sorry not sure if that's helpful or confusing, its just my experience with it that's all.

Polkadot1 · 18/11/2013 21:18

I'm a bit confused with CB ov test! I had smiley faces Sun am, Sun night and this morning- then ran out of CB sticks. So bought a new pack, but used the same testing device, but when I put the new stick in, got the "new month" flashing sign, then the test came back as empty circle! I'm assuming its coz it's a new catch of sticks?! U guess carry on daily dtd and check again tomorrow and hopefully get a solid smiley? Anyone else had anything similar?

barmybunting · 18/11/2013 21:26

ImaginaryHat ah... I hadn't clicked about b6 delaying ovulation. I had got it in my head that it just lengthened luteal phase which I need to do as mine has been 9 days for the last few cycles.

I had read about stopping taking it after OV, or uping the dose after OV. I've no idea really! So you don't take it at all until OV? Did that work ok for you? Are you taking it for luteal phase or something else if you don't mind me asking?
