Our brand spanking new thread full of luck, baby dust, BFPs and a few choice swear words.

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Congratulations nerdy will keep my fingers crossed for you :)

Wickedwiggle86 · 06/11/2013 19:56

Hey sorry have been gone for a while, seems I have missed a lot! Well done nerdy, am so happy for you and have my fingers tightly crossed for a sticky bean :)

I have also found out that I am pregnant but felt like a bit of a fraud as was only here for a month after ectopic; hence the lack of announcement. a complete fluke I think, seemed too good to be true so haven't told a soul until now! Am now just over 6 weeks but have been spotting on and off for nearly week so not feeling too positive atm, can I stay here with you guys for a bit longer? Am utterly terrified of moving on in case it all goes wrong again :(

daftgeranium · 06/11/2013 20:07

congrats newly pregnant ladies! hope the new beans stick xx it's great to hear some good news.

Floweroct · 06/11/2013 20:33

Congrats nerdy was just thinking it seemed like ages since we'd had a bfp!

I'm 5dpo but not hopeful, pretty much given up at the moment! It's been a year since I got my bfp and over 2 years of ttc its just all such an effort!! Not much I can do at the moment just sit out the 2ww.

Glad your tests were ok sal and fingers crossed the dream comes true alyant

cosmickitten · 06/11/2013 20:34

Nerdy that's lovely lovely news x

alyant79 · 06/11/2013 21:45

oh wickedwiggle that's great news, but I completely understand your anxiety, esp with some spotting. Fingers and everything else crossed that this one hangs around for you.

triple yep, i'm still temping. everything has been wonderfully consistent plus or minus 1 day until suddenly not this month. i've either ov'd 6 days late or ov'd at the normal time without any much of a temp rise Confused. This has happened just when, like you, i had been thinking of giving up temping - now i'm swinging the other way and thinking of adding ov sticks back into the mix next month!
So frustrating. If it is late ov, i'm glad for the temping because otherwise in a few days i'd be getting all excited about af being late, when actually she'll probably come right on time (you can tell i am feeling incredibly optimistic about this cycle Wink)

triplespin · 07/11/2013 09:00

cosmic hope all is going well with you!

aly eek good that you were temping. Though maybe like nerdy we should think that strange cycles may lead to a bfp!! So how many dpo are you now based on temping? Will you poas tomorrow? Seems like I cant give up temping quite yet. It's becoming a bit of a struggle though now.

Congrats to wicked !

alyant79 · 07/11/2013 09:11

based on temping i'm only 4 dpo tomorrow. normally i'd be about 10 dpo tomorrow. i'm not going to poas. waste of a stick.
If i make it to next friday without a temp drop i'll poas then

triplespin · 07/11/2013 09:45

Took time off to see gp about spotting and request progesterone test. But gp's car broke down and appointment got cancelled. So upset. Need to wait a few more weeks now for the next appointment.

NerdyBird · 07/11/2013 11:02

Hi everyone

Thanks for all the lovely messages, and congratulations to wiggle too!

I hope you don't mind if I hang around for a bit longer, nervous of being over confident that everything is fine. Last time I found out about the MMC only a couple of weeks after the BFP, so I'm aware this could be short lived.

Yesterday I bought a two-pack of First Response as you can use those anytime. Got positives yesterday arvo and again this morning. If I'm still getting positives by Monday I'll ring the Dr. I'll have to let my line manager know, as last time I just had to rush off suddenly with no explanation when I needed a scan. She is lovely and would be fine about it anyway.

At the moment I am assuming all is ok and that it's only a few weeks, given all the negatives I had, but some people do take a while to show on tests so I don't really know how far along I am.

Right, we are off out now, will try and check in later. Hope you all have a good day!

Sundance2007 · 07/11/2013 12:21

Congratulations nerdy and wiggle, hoping you both have sticky beans! Excellent news, we were starting to look a bit low on bfp's!!

I'm still waiting for af to appear, never have I so much actually wanted it to arrive. It's been over 3 weeks since the mc, so I appreciate not a massively long time, but Ive taken a pg test to make sure and it was neg...which in this case is a good thing.

triple, that's awful that you have to wait so long again, you'd think they would work a bit of overtime to squeeze patients in that have lost out on appointments.

alyant79 · 07/11/2013 13:55

triple that's awful. they should be able to squeeze you in earlier since it's their fault that you've missed the appt

cosmickitten · 07/11/2013 21:27

Triple I'm really sorry about your appointment, they really shouldn't make you make wait :-(

I'm doing ok, have been having bleeding since last week. However it's light and old brown blood which midwife is unhothered about. slso i had a private scan on Friday ( for thexsake of sanity) since showed dot was all ok. So trying to stay calm and positive.

Also congratulations to wriggle :-)

Handsfullandlovingit · 07/11/2013 21:55

May I join you please? I've got a 2 year old, a 4 year old and have lost two pregnancies since DS. I'm wondering what he did up there. The most recent was at 11 weeks, erpc, retained products, infection, iv antibiotics, hideous treatment by hospital, body sorted itself out finally 2 weeks ago yesterday. We have decided the "wait til you have a period rule" was making us even sadder, so we are rather enjoying a patch of having no idea whether I'm ovulating and just going with the flow. It's a bit liberating! So not TTC actively until I get AF, but who knows? Just debating doing a test to check it is negative, do we think this is a good idea? I'm still very wibbly sad and not sure I really want to see a negative. And when I suggested it to DH he went all bereft and lost looking.

I am wishing you all ooooodles of good luck. We all deserve a bit.

SuzyBean · 08/11/2013 08:13

Congratulations on the bfps! Hopefully we'll see some more today. Not for me though, my temp is nosediving so just waiting for AF now.
Welcome to handsfull.

triplespin · 08/11/2013 08:26

Welcome handsfull

I know it is terrible that I have to wait so long. The other alternative I was given was to ring before 9 everyday and see if there is anything available on that day. Can't really do that with work.

Aly my cycle has gone manic too. Cd 16 and no positive on opk but temp still rising ! I have a feeling ff will mark ov soon if the temp rises for another day. V. Odd.

triplespin · 08/11/2013 08:27

Sorry about temp nose dive suzy - that forewarning is always so depressing.

Any poasers today?

SuzyBean · 08/11/2013 08:41

It does mean that I can have several large glasses of wine though! How about that for a bit of posifrickintivity?

alyant79 · 08/11/2013 10:19

sorry for nosedive suzy but i'm with you - the forewarning is depressing, but better to find our sooner rather than later.

Feeling a bit sick today, but resolutely maintaining that i'm only 4dpo and most definitley not 10dpo so it must all be in my head.

triple i guess that's why opks can't always be relied on. you must have just had a small LH surge and the sticks missed it. yay for temping.

welcome handsfull and sorry to hear about your very awful experience.
I had a slightly similar (but not nearly so bad) experience with retained products and if I were you I'd deffo poas to check that it really is a bfn. Just to make sure.

hang in there cosmic. private scan results sound excellent.

tannyLoo72 · 08/11/2013 11:10

13 dpo I think and a bfn. Ho hum. Still nearly a week till af is due, as I ov so bloody early in cycle.
I am completely clutching at sticks anyway, as I am still in my first month post mc. Just wanted to get back in the saddle...Sad

Sundance2007 · 08/11/2013 14:20

Hi all, and welcome to newbies.

So last night was interesting, was fine all day until hubby got home and asked me how I was...I just unleashed this 3 hour sobbing, snotty, shakey tantrum, I just felt so desperate and sad. And then this morning....embarrassed and feeling fine again. What's that all about?? I'm putting it down to hormones but DH wants me to think about counselling - I'm just better at dealing with things privately I think.

handsfull, I'm in the same boat. Have no idea when I'm ovulating and still waiting for af to make an appearance 3 1/2 weeks later, it is rather liberating. I did take a pg test tho just to make sure I got a negative, couldn't bear the idea of having to go through any more lady-bits scrutiny for dating.

Good luck everyone

alyant79 · 08/11/2013 17:08

sundance it's not long since your mc. of course you're still going to have moments of utter sadness. I remember I was still up and down a lot for a quite a few weeks.
it's probably partly hormones, but also it's just part of the natural grieving process.
big hugs for you

Floweroct · 08/11/2013 17:59

Big hugs sundance.

So I'm 7dpo and af has appeared wtf!!! Am so annoyed can just about cope with bfns but my body doing rubbish like this is just so frustrating! Had hoped it might just be implantation but its heavy now so looks like af :(

Sundance2007 · 08/11/2013 20:14

Thanks ladies, it helps to vent so thank you for bearing with me!!

Sorry to hear your news flower, i remember getting the odd really short cycle, but on the flip side you will hopefully ov very soon again too. Not great if you're not gp this time but at least the 2ww is cut shorter iyswim?!

I'd decided to stay off the booze but my Friday evening has been comically pants. The dog rolled in some other creature's shite and stank the house out, absolutely perfect when our shower is out of order cos the bathroom is being redecorated. DH out tonight so had to lift him in the bath myself after trying to catch said dog who kept running away from me! Grrr

Hope you all have a fab weekend....positive thinking ladeez. Xx

Sal1977 · 08/11/2013 20:23

Great to hear of a couple of BFPs, rubbish to hear of some of you feeling down!

Got a nice smiley today on a digi OV stick. Been trying to do it every other day for the last few days and managed a quick syringe this morning! Haha, hoping that DH is able to put out tomorrow morning as well! Feeling positive! :)
