Well I am now on day 28 but fed up as I have had AF pains since a few days after I ovulated (day 19). It is so annoying to have the same aches and pains all day every day..like my body is taunting me about the fact that my AF will turn up eventually! Sorry for moaning...just fed up with it and my body at the moment!

bunny2 · 12/03/2004 09:27

Futurity, mee too. I have had so many pelvic pains and there is a part of me thinking they are early pg pains. Are you going to test? I was going to this morning but I thought whats the point?

M2T · 12/03/2004 09:42

Futurity and Bunny2 - Good luck if you both decide to test today. I'm keeping a close eye on this thread although I can't really contribute to it.

BigBird · 12/03/2004 09:59

Hana - sorry to hear about your SIL. Your post below sounded very like me too.....! Good luck.

Bunny - you are well armed with lots of info. Do you have NAPRO or FCP (fertility care practitioners) where you are ? I don't know much about them but I know some of the girls here have gone this route as an alternate to their normal gynae. I think its lots of charting along with recording CM etc. Not really sure to be honest. Just a thought.

Quackers · 12/03/2004 10:13

I see Bunny, wonder why, do you think it's the dose? Would it be worth having all your hormones checked, if you haven't had already? Ie, FSH, LH, progesterone? They will certainly be able to tell from that if there is something amiss or too much of the other.

Good luck to all xx

futurity · 12/03/2004 12:36

No...not going to test..no point until at least day 36 which would be same length cycle as last month.

And to top it all found out today that DS has got chickenpox..what fun!

M2T · 12/03/2004 12:38

Oh Futurity - How rotten... at least if he's all spotty then he should be over the worst.

futurity · 12/03/2004 13:27

Thats good to know M2T. He has been sniffly and grumpy last few days and then spots appeared yesterday but didn't really twig..did today though when more turned up! I've not had it though and a friend said it is a good job I am not pregnant as it isn't good for pregnant women?

Azure · 12/03/2004 13:32

Futurity - sorry to hear about DS. Blimey Ermentrude, you had a late o/v - was it day 22? Fingers crossed that all your activity was worth it Good luck to everyone approaching testing time. Collision, you were going to test ages ago - what happened? Haven't heard from Slink and Emski in a while - everything ok girls?

M2T · 12/03/2004 14:07

Futurity - No it isn't good for pregnant women to be exposed to chicken pox. I think it's especially dangerous in the 1st trimester and in the last few weeks of pregnancy..... not sure why though. I've had them twice. V Itchy.... but not too bad once the spots scab over. (nice!!).

My GP told me that childhood is best time to catch them as it tends to be a much milder infection in children.

BigBird · 12/03/2004 14:55

FYI most Docs I know recommend you get a blood test to check you are immune to rubella before starting to ttc. I got checked out pre DD and again last year. (you can lose immunity apparantly).

M2T · 12/03/2004 15:01

BigBird - Rubella is German Measles though.... not Chicken Pox.... or perhaps I'm way off here.
It's a good idea as GM is nasty when pregnant, I thought it was a routine blood test in pregnancy? Or is that another example of post code healthcare.
I had GM as a child, then had my Rubella vac at 10yrs old..... then ANOTHER one in my 2nd yr at Uni as it was flying through the halls of residence and a hefty rate!

BigBird · 12/03/2004 16:48

so it is M2T - what was I thinking !!

ah well - its good advice anyhow !

It may be a routine test in pregnancy but it should be tested for pre-ttcing too, cos if you have to get the jab you must hold off for 3 mths.

have a nice weekend!

ermentrude · 12/03/2004 20:58

Hi again all! Azure - I did ovulate on cd22 - I have approximately a 5 week cycle on average - sometimes longer.

I have afew questions that I hope someone is able to answer. First one - the 'luteal phase' - what is it, how long is it and how do I know I still 'have' it?

Second - I mentioned earlier in the thread that my temps are lower than normal - between 35.6 and 36.0 pre-ovulation (usually the lower end of that range). Since ovulation on Monday, my temps have gone up 0.1 degree each day. Currently on 36.4 which is way above my pre-ovulation temperatures. Normal? Or should I read anything into it?

Hope you are all well
Thanks folks

hana · 12/03/2004 21:37

ermentrude - the luteal phase is the time from ovulation until the start of your next period. It has to be a certain length for enough progesterone to be produced to support the conditions the embryo needs. Some people call it DPO, or days past ovulation.
Can't help you with the second one, sorry!
have a great weekend everyone

ermentrude · 12/03/2004 22:09

Just been having a look at some charts on fertility friend which show late ovulation (and pregnancy also but we won't go there at the minute!) and it has amazed me how much sex people are having! I know that everyone is TTC but crikey! Makes my measley 'twice this week' sound remarkably chaste!

ChaCha · 13/03/2004 00:40

Ermentrude LOL

ChaCha · 13/03/2004 00:42

Thanks for the info Bunny. Will wait and see if there are anymore 'spotting' incidents this cycle and in the meantime hope that everything goes well. I think i am beginning to come to terms with the fact that i am never going to get that BFP. Have really had enough.

ermentrude · 13/03/2004 08:44

Just added my data for today and Fertility Friend has now changed its mind and says that I now ovualted on WEdnesday cd24.

Why does it do this?

futurity · 13/03/2004 09:24

AF just turned up. Day 29 so slightly less (!) than last months 35 day cycle. What I don't understand is that I ovulated on day 19..I thought your AF came 14 days after ovulation?

Oh well..try again this month for an Xmas baby!

bunny2 · 13/03/2004 09:25

ChaCha, I feel the same. I have been bleeding/spotting on and off for days now so even if I did conceive, the egg wouldnt be able to implant. I sometimes think a hysterectomy is the solution, at least then I know I cant get pg and I can get on with my life.

Ermentrude, I have no idea, could you ask FF?

OP posts:
bunny2 · 13/03/2004 09:27

Futurity, that means your luteal phase is 10 days. I think 10 or more days is considered the norm, the longer the better though. If it is shorter that 10, the womb lining isnt sufficiently developed to allow the egg to implant. Oh well, look forward to the next cycle and good luck with it.

ChaCha · 13/03/2004 11:21

Any other ways of keeping DH's swimmers up there longer? Even after i've done the whole pillow thing it seems to all 'come out'. Sorry for TMI but it's driving me nuts. Is there also a possibility that some reached their destination anyway?
What a life!

bluestar · 13/03/2004 16:36

futurity, sorry AF turned up and that your ds has chicken pox. Makes for a good weekend all round then. Get out that chocolate and wine.
ChaCha, know what you mean. I always have to go to the loo after and feel like I should walk on my hands to get there!!

bunny2 · 14/03/2004 09:43

ChaCha, I lie with my legs up the wall (v attractive) until I get bored, usually last 20 minutes or so.

I'm 9 dpo and I am sooo tired, all week I have felt I could fall asleep everytime I sit down whereas usually I have bags of energy, also my dh gave me a big hug yesterday and it really hurt my boobs! And my contact lenses feel really gritty and I have to keep taking them out. I am probably imagining all these symptoms and reading too much into them but, well, I guess there is a tiny bit of hope. Still bleeding thoug

How is everyone else?
