Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

I can totaly identify with the whole jealous/bitter/moody persona... had a proper meltdown when I found out a friend of mine was pregnant, and an actual tantrum with tears when i found out she was to have a little girl, and even now i like to think she has an ugly baby Blush (even though it is quite sweet). When I went out in public i used to feel so different and alien just because of how bitter and miserable i felt, like it must be visable to other people ... anyway, luckly in a better place now - at least mentaly.

Yorkie have you decided on whether you will try another IUI?

I think I know the basic acronyms now Smile but can anyone tell me what BESH is (or something like that) and also i don't know if i have a special pot? Blush so hopefully i still meet berry criteria!

Boodle9 · 20/10/2013 17:31

Oooh, a holiday. Have you decided where to go, Bunny?

Birdy, I can relate to those feelings too. I wouldn't say I'm completely out of that place yet either although things are better at work now that 3/4 of the preggos have buggered off to have babies. (Last one goes at Xmas...really hope there are no more announcements before then...!) The BESH are another 30+ long-term TTC group on here. I believe it stands for 'Barren, evil, selfish hag' or something like that, from all the lovely media reports stating that women who wait to have children in their 30s are selfish career-driven bitches...obviously. Angry I think Merk is a double agent working for both Berries and BESH, so she can confirm/correct that for me! Grin

I PIMPed (peed in my pot) this afternoon! If you use internet cheapy ovulation sticks, then the expectation is that you have a special pot for purposes of sample collection. Lots on here are Gu pot advocates. I'm less sophisticated and use a disposable shot glass...

PuppyMummy · 20/10/2013 17:40

birdy don't tell everyone but you dont really need a pot! I never piap! a pot is a bit more classy than just poas! and useful I think for opk (but I never really bothered with them either!)

Boodle9 · 20/10/2013 17:47

Puppy didn't have a pot?
...
...
...

GET OUT!!!

Only joking! Smile. I've been watching The Big Bang Theory, if anyone gets the reference!

BlueBirdy · 20/10/2013 18:32

ohhhhh! thank you! yay i do have a special pot! (well, it's a tiny enamel mug) (v.posh) had been wondering about PIMPing too - luckely not as bad as it sounds then Smile

BlindKitty · 20/10/2013 18:40

Ah but puppy if you bugger up the stick then at least you have more fmu to use! Thank god I had a pot the day I actually got my bfp! I had to do 4 before I'd believe it!

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/10/2013 18:45

Yep blind is right, a pot is better than pissing away your FMU and then realising you need some more and don't have any until tomorrow Grin

Bunnygirlie · 20/10/2013 18:48

Evening y'all!

We REALLY need a holiday, after 17months of hell TTC (and our holiday in May being cold and rainy) we need a rest! Just a week in the warm somewhere far away where we can forget about it all.

Birdy it's horrid isn't it, the type of person we all turn into when struggling to conceive. I hate that I am sooooo jealous of every bump I see, I hate that I scowl at every mother with a baby in a pram, it's just so hard!

Ref PIMPing I use an old picnic beaker Wink

P.s. omg boodle Bazinga!

bunny did you book anywhere? X

mrswalker13 · 21/10/2013 07:17

Hope weekends were exciting / relaxing / productive as needed!

bunny where are you off to? Sunshine sounds amazing. It is already bloody winter in Scotland, looks like we didn't get autumn this year.

birdy hello! I like the sound of small enamel mug. Have previously used promotional plastic cup that shows alcohol measures (am v classy!)

Play performed to about 100 people over 3 days. Got some great feedback, managed to scare a few folk, used it all as an excuse to live on takeaway and black cherry Bulmers for 3 days. So I'm currently bloated berry Sad

Bunnygirlie · 21/10/2013 08:22

Hoping to book holiday today kitty, weather here is also disgusting, the past few days really feel like winter!!!

mrsw play sounds ace, welldone you!

Been freaking myself out by googling ICSI, apparently there is a higher risk of anomalies with it rather than ivf. Gosh as if there aren't enough worries as it is Sad

yorkiebilb · 21/10/2013 09:57

Where are you looking at going bunny? Preferably somewhere with no Internet access then you can't freak yourself out consulting Dr Google! Maybe that could be a requirement when looking for holidays - no wifi/Internet access!

Feeling v down in yorkie land. Been awake since 4 this morning with bad cramps and sweats so pretty sure AF is on its way later today or tomorrow. I know the stats weren't that great for IUI but you always have that hope and I still feel gutted that it hasn't worked. Just feel exhausted about the thought of having to pick myself up and try again. The constant disappointment is just heartbreaking.

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/10/2013 10:54

Yorkie am keeping FX for you

ladybunnikins · 21/10/2013 12:13

Yorkie, fingers crossed it works out. I opted out of IUI since it would have meant a lap and dye first to check my possible blocked tube and I didn't have much faith in the 15% success rate. This was before Kitty got updiffed with it though and now I wonder if I should have tried it!
Bunny, I also got depressed when reading that there was a higher risk of childhood cancer after IF/ICSI, but we need to remember that although the risks are higher, the actual numbers are still really low. Plus surely by going through all this we'll have had our bad life experience and we'll be due for some good luck (without wishing cancer/meningitis/autism etc on my instadiffer friends).

Halloween Confused
BlueBirdy · 21/10/2013 14:00

ok so i'm not superstitious or religious but that was post #666 and I didn't want to take any chances...

BlueBirdy · 21/10/2013 14:08

...anyway...

mrsw your weekend sounded exciting! Well done you! How far are you with the next one? Have you got any further with getting an appointment with the FC?

bunny do you have the IVF option still? Or will ISCI be best for you?

Any one hear about this? www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/10383910/Five-minute-IVF-is-better-and-cheaper-say-experts-scientists.html

just booked my first appointment with the FC! Smile 15 Nov, so not too much or a wait.

BlueBirdy · 21/10/2013 14:10

*of Hmm

IamKuma · 21/10/2013 15:55

bluebirdy I've not heard about that but it looks really interesting especially as I am one of the more mature berries Wink. From reading the article I can't really work out why they are calling it 5 minute IVF though?

yorkie sending positive thoughts your way. Thanks

bunny I hope you've manage to book a holiday somewhere nice today!

DH and I have just had a 2 week holiday and I don't ever remember being asked so many times if I had kids.... it was so frustrating. I know I am old and could have grown up children if I had started early, but I clearly have no kids with me so surely it is just more polite not to ask!!!

I'm a bit behind on the thread, but hope everyone is OK.

Foodylicious · 21/10/2013 17:42

ooh where have you been kuma? Really pants about people asking all the time, seems most people think its a universal conversation starter, idiots!

Birdy thats not long at all! Smile

fx yorkie x

A holiday bunny, where?

IamKuma · 21/10/2013 18:25

We were travelling around in Asia; one of the tour guides kept saying 'next time you come back with your family, you bring babies'.... if only it were that simple [hmmm]

IamKuma · 21/10/2013 18:25

damn, my Hmm face went wrong Hmm

Thundercatsarego · 21/10/2013 18:43

kuma on the 'threads I'm on' page it just looks like you said 'damn my face went wrong'

I had to come on here to see what happened!

Holiday sounds fab. bunny you going to share where you're off to then?

yorkie more Cake coming your way for a crappy day.

IamKuma · 21/10/2013 18:45

thunder I've just seen that too; fortunately my own face is fine, no botched botox or bad makeup! Wink

Bunnygirlie · 21/10/2013 18:51

Holiday booked WOOHOO!!!!!

I know I know yorkie Dr Google is bad!!! oh I hope you are wrong about AF! Have some Cake

birdy we have been told ICSI is the best for us, assume its due to DHs low sperm count. 15 nov isn't too far away at all Smile

Good to have you back kuma, nice holiday?

Good Monday everybody?
