Anyone about to start/just started TTC number 2?

mrsm22 · 03/09/2013 20:35

Hi ladies, I am 31 and have one DS already. After my DS I went back on the pill but have decided to stop the pill and start TTC baby number 2 and wondered if anyone was also just about to start trying or just started and we could follow each other and share as we go along. I literally have stopped my pill last week for the 7 day break, and am meant to start taking it again tomorrow but obviously won't be, so I am very literally just starting to try for number two but am very excited! That's why I thought it might be nice to go through it with other people who are also trying. I have heard some people say that after your first baby you are more fertile but I am not sure so I am really not sure how long it will take this time. Does it usually not take as long second time round? It has taken a lot for me to decide for definite that I'd like another as I had an awful time in labour with forceps and 3rd degree tears etc which really scared me and must admit I'm terrified of another scary birth experience.

I'm feeling a bit better after some fresh air, thanks for asking mrsm. I'll be awaiting your test result with bated breath tomorrow morning!!

Wish I could POAS too but I've got to wait until next weekend... I hate the 2ww!

HungryHorace · 06/10/2013 12:28

I'm probably in the bathroom around that time too. It'll be a live POAS thread tomorrow!

At least you've had a faint line. My tests have all been resolutely negative!

Ooh, forgot to mention I felt really sick this morning. It passed though. And it'd be too early for MS really.

Fx for us both tomorrow, Mrs. :-)

mrsm22 · 06/10/2013 12:40

Thanks Metalhead , could be me and Hungry this weekend/ Monday and we'll be finger crossing for you next weekend!
Right Hungry, we are on for tomorrow morning! It will be live tomorrow anything from 6am if everyone wants to tune in. I'm not building my hopes up too much, I'm just not sure either way. What with that bit of bleeding, it could have been a show bit could also have been something to do with coming off the pill. Who knows? But Hungry, that sounds promising if you've felt sick this morning. Apparently the very early signs are needing to wee a lot, sore boobs, a show and feeling sick. I'm excited for you. Metalhead make sure you're tuned in tomorrow morning and I'm glad you're feeling better. We are going to the park soon too but my DS is having a sleep.
Ooh Hungry - what test are you going to do , which do you have?

Just caught up, exciting times mrs & hungry

Unless my little one has an early morning, we probably won't be up for the live feed! But I'll be checking ASAP. Even if you get a BFN, it could still just be a touch to soon after implantation, but fingers crossed it'll be positive so we won't need to think about that!

HungryHorace · 06/10/2013 13:33

I'm on internet cheapies. But I have a pink dye Asda one from a twin pack to use if I get anything like a positive on the IC. :-)

I actually PIATH (piss in a tealight holder) and then dunk, BTW!

I'm really not convinced I am, and I haven't had to wee more and certainly don't have sore breasts. Just no AF, not much CM (TMI!) and an achey right ovary.

We shall hopefully have an idea tomorrow now though!

lucyjojo · 06/10/2013 14:31

Afternoon all! I have just got back from the park with my DD as it is a lovely sunny day here too, unseasonably warm! She has just gone for her nap now, is anyone else's DC playing up more the closer they get to two!? She is definately learning more each day how to play us!
I think you just might be pregnant mrs! All the symptoms sound about right, how exciting for you, hopefully! I won't be awake for the live feed but will read up on the results as soon as we're up. hungry will you be testing too?
I will find out on Wednesday if I am or not. My periods are as regular as clockwork, and I am due on Wed; I have had sore boobs for weeks, had some mild on and off cramping, and occasionally feel quite nauseous, but I think I might just be imagining some of this as I'm paying such close attention to what my body is doing all the time!! I don't think I could really be pregnant, it hasn't been the most productive month Sad. Next month we will both be over various illnesses with a fresh perspective and it will happen for us!! Who's with me on the positive thinking!!!
I did have a nice holiday thank you mrs, it was a family weekend away to celebrate my parents anniversary, so a bit hectic and stressful, but lovely to get everyone together. Whew I should stop rabbiting on now!!
Hope everyone's having a nice Sunday!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 06/10/2013 17:45

Very exciting. I'll be tuning in for live piath tomorrow Grin

BetterNotBitter · 06/10/2013 17:52

Evening all! Hope everyone's had good weekends.

Does anyone use conceive plus? If so, when? Week running up to ovulation? A few days before, just the day?

HungryHorace · 06/10/2013 18:03

Hi Lucy! Sounds like you had a lovely time :-)

Better, we used it whilst TTC DD and fell pregnant the first month of using it. We just used it every time as we thought we might as well.

We've done the same this time and just always used it. It's waste than guessing when's the right time and you need so little you'd never finish the tube if you didn't use it often!

HungryHorace · 06/10/2013 18:04

Easier than ^

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 06/10/2013 18:05

What's conceive plus?

HungryHorace · 06/10/2013 18:10

A lube which mimics EWCM.

lucyjojo · 06/10/2013 19:00

Hi Better, I have just started using it, and I intend to use it everytime! I have decided on no planning from now one, just DTD every 3 times a week or so, all month. I got it from an online pharmacy, it cost me about £5 and £3 or so postage, so it's not cheap but hopefully worth it!!

donnas1984 · 06/10/2013 20:31

hi guys just checking in to see how you are all doing. sound like tomorrow morning will be a hub of excitement on here I will have my fingers toe arms eyes and legs crossed for you mrsm and hungry lol! xx 7 test later and the lines and now very clearGrin Grin Grin Grin if bubba sticks it should be here around 12 june xx

Windywinston · 06/10/2013 20:52

Wow, I just popped in to see what's happening, congratulations Donnas!!! I'm so pleased for you, what a lucky thread this is turning out to be.
Good luck tomorrow Mrsm and Hungry. Mrsm, I had a few very faint lines before it turned into a definitely line, but all my googling seemed to show that a line is a line.
My little bean seems to be sticking so far, my morning sickness has kicked in and my boobs hurt so much! I'm not complaining though.

HungryHorace · 06/10/2013 22:03

Using all your ICs, Donna?! :-)

And thanks, Windy. I'm really not convinced I am pregnant. But I don't feel like AF is coming either now. Maybe I just didn't ovulate and am now onto the next cycle.

If no AF or positive test tomorrow I'll get DTD again.

FunnyRunner · 06/10/2013 23:30

Thanks for the welcome all :) Glad thread has been lucky so far. Truth I haven't started on the FA yet - would make it too real.

I'll be honest and say I have major reservations about the whole thing. Don't want to drag the thread down with my doubts but if any of you had a second despite reservations and it's good - do share! Have one DD who is just over 1 and I'm not getting any younger. However having another baby next year will drop a career bomb in one way and waiting a further year will drop career bomb in another way so I'm buggered either way :o

We got pregnant v quickly last time round. I used the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor for a few months beforehand and it was useful - discovered I OV around day 16 so later than some people. We also used Pre-Seed lubricant (which is fab, EXACTLY like EWCM once it comes out, sorry if TMI Blush). Finally, we also used what I like to call 'the dead budgie' i.e. legs in the air for ten mins afterwards (can't do any harm). As a result of that (and a bit of luck) got our BFP our first proper month trying in spite of my age and weight.

utopian99 · 07/10/2013 00:36

Good luck in the morning Horace and mrsm!
Still no AF here after 3.5 weeks on from stopping pill but I know that means nothing as we're still up with night feeds twice a night. They aren't long and we"re down to 5 feeds in 24hrs but We Shall See. Starting to think about trying to cut out the nights but not sure howtthat will go down!

Dh was looking v hot (and keen) before the weekend but knackered tonight so haven't DTD since Thursday, boo...

utopian99 · 07/10/2013 00:39

Also had no idea if we had any indicators last time so no idea what to spot for this time.
We use conceive plus, but just every time for the thoroughness of it rather than any particular time.

HungryHorace · 07/10/2013 03:23

Hmmm...BFN here :-/

Wonder where AF has gone then?! CD31 now.

Mrs, you're now the thread's hope!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 07/10/2013 07:15

Sorry to hear that Hungry Sad

I've started symptom spotting and even poas yesterday respite af not being due for another week Blush

funny - no uncertainty for me, , plenty for dh. It's taken me over two years to convince him and our marriage almost fell apart over it. I think we're sorted now though.

HungryHorace · 07/10/2013 07:42

Utopian, did you have your withdrawal bleed as normal? So you're waiting for your first 'natural' AF? I'm sure you did say but my brain is frazzled! There's no wonder sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture.

I'm hoping the idea of swimming with DD today will bring AF on in an ironic fashion!

Where's mrs then? The hope is now on her!

mrsm22 · 07/10/2013 08:33

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay! Sadly it's a BFN for me too this morning. Very disappointed. I did my test about 7.30am and first wee of the day. I got one of those really good early tests too. Sorry for you Hungry, better luck next time for us both! I can only put down the light bleed Friday night and over the weekend as a period, a very light one. Maybe the first one after stopping the pill is like that. What does everyone think ?
Lucyjojo - glad you had a good holiday.
Donnas - really lovely of you to check in on us. I hope you're doing well.
X

HungryHorace · 07/10/2013 08:37

I'm sorry, mrs :-(

That could have been a period, or it could have been a little mid cycle bleed and your period is on the way soon.

I'm going to have to start DTD again then. And buy some OPKs. Just so I know what's happening!

What will you do, mrs?

Metalhead · 07/10/2013 09:02

Morning all, and sorry for your BFN's Hungry and mrsm! It's always so disappointing.

Hungry 31 days isn't really that unusually long for a cycle. Alternatively the discomfort you felt the other day could have been ov pain, so AF might show up in another fortnight. My cycles definitely changed after having DD, I never used to get ov pain when I was younger and now I get it every month!

mrsm it could have been a very light period or a mid-cycle bleed. Maybe try using opks as well to see whereabouts in your cycle you are and if you are ovulating?

I can feel myslef sliding down the slippery slope of symptom spotting again... I'm now 7-8 dpo and had some short sharp twinges down below last night, but desperately trying not to get my hopes up that it was a sign of implantation. Still, I'll probably cave and poas on Thursday as got some First Response sticks lying around!

Funny I do still have doubts, every time DD drives me up the wall or keeps us up at night I think what am I letting myself in for? But deep down I do want another child so we'll just have to manage somehow. (Note: child not baby, I am not a baby person and would happily skip the first year to 18 months if I could!)
