Thanks to everyone for asking after me. I'm ok, disappointed but ok. To be honest I feel a bit daft for expecting IVF to work first time - I know what a battle it is for everyone. I haven't done another test, and I've got the blood test tomorrow so I imagine there will be a few tears with official confirmation.

prammy love the new thatch.

nobeer lots and lots of hugs
prammie LOVE the photos! Was relieved to see that you had posted a pic of your haircut Wink

twinklestar2 · 28/08/2013 14:04

Sending you much love, pip X

Fabuluce · 28/08/2013 17:43

Nobeer it's not silly to think it will work first time - I know quite a few women who got successfully pregnant on their first round (lucky bitches!) and we have to think positively throughout each round don't we - as we are always told it will help. It just means that a bfn will bring us down with an almighty bumpHmm. What a roller coaster this whole bastard process is.

Pip I'm keeping everything crossed for you lovely xx

Fabuluce · 28/08/2013 17:49

Pram - ooh brunette - tres classy!

Fabuluce · 28/08/2013 17:58

Wish yes the tests are pricey - the two tests they've advised me to have cost 950 and 750 and then if the problem is with NK cells then let's say goodbye to savings!!

Yes Tame I took the positives out of the meeting - we've got good eggs and sperm and we make good potential babies - we've just got to find a way past this implantation issue....somehow....

My poor darling Mr. Fab is feeling very blue today bless him. He's all strong and supportive and then it comes and smacks him in the face. I hate seeing him so miserable :(

Llw2 · 28/08/2013 21:27

I'm getting so cross! All of the messages I keep writing say message sent but then end up not posting, is anyone else getting that? I've had a very overwhelming day that I need to share. After the last appointment on Friday that I thought was a consultation and ended up coming home with norethisterone I had to go back today to be shown how to inject. They've prescribed me Suprecur, Ovitrelle, Menopur and Cylogest, has anyone had any of these or know any of the side effects? They gave us so much information my head is about to explode, any tips on how to digest all the info? Thinking of you all throughout the various stages of your journeys and my heart goes out to those who have had BFNs recently x

Pipbin · 28/08/2013 21:39

Llw2 I had all of the medication you mention.
I didn't have any side effects at all with any of them.
I found the injections very very easy and completely painless. I'm ok with needles and the like anyway, but I found it easier than I expected.

I'm pretty much bleeding like a regular period now. Has anyone ever had this and still got a bfp?

Llw2 · 28/08/2013 21:47

Ahh thank you pip, this whole process has felt surreal the whole way through as if ivf happens to people on the tv and not me, today was like a smack of reality right in the chops, having you all here to tell me it's not just me and it isn't as scary as I think it might be is such a blessing, thank you x

Pipbin · 28/08/2013 21:56

I know what you mean. IVF is something that happens to other people.
I was given a schedule of what to take and when and I found this very useful, just to keep my mind at rest if nothing else.
Have you got all the drugs yet or are you waiting for a delivery? I found it useful to go through the schedule marry it up to the drugs.

eurochick · 28/08/2013 22:17

pip I never bleed on the cyclogest, but a good friend of mine didn't even bother testing after her IVF as she had a normal period. When she went for her follow up, the dr insisted on testing and sure enough, she was pregnant. So it does happen.

Llw2 I've had the Ovitrille and Cyclogest. Ovitrille is just HCG. I tend to get every side effect in the book from hormonal drugs and this does very little to me. I just get insomnia (I had this terribly when pregnant before my mc - it seems to be how I react to HCG). Cyclogest is just replacing the progesterone that you would have produced if you hadn't had all the fluid sucked out of your follicles, so I find I get the usual 2ww symptoms on that - some bloating, sore boobs, that sort of thing.

It is all a bit overwhelming at first. I hate taking drugs and found it completely overwhelming when a big delivery of them arrived at the door.

BrookerC · 28/08/2013 22:52

Hi everyone. Sorry for absence lately. Needing a little break from ivf thoughts for a few days as AF has still not arrived & I'm driving myself potty! Just wanted to say pip thinking of you x

Llw2 · 28/08/2013 23:05

Yeah pip waiting for delivery man tomorrow, euro it's good to know neither of you had bad side effects, this bloody norethisterone is making me so teary I am expecting all sides of crazy bonkers effects. Ill keep you posted and thank you both x

nobeer · 29/08/2013 02:50

brooker I was wondering where you were. Have you done a pregnancy test, you know, just in case?

Llw2 I found that concentrating on each step and not thinking too far ahead in the future was the best way for me to mentally handle things.

BrookerC · 29/08/2013 07:19

Hi nobeer yes I have & it was a very clear no. I've even worn my bestest fancy knickers & nothing!
Sorry for the lack of support from brook towers at the mo everyone but I'm as useful as a chocolate teapot at the minute
Hope to get back to 'normal' pretty soon
Xxxxx

nobeer · 29/08/2013 07:40

brooker no worries, just get out in RL and have some fun! Spend time doing things you enjoy, seeing good friends, making some of Táme's amazing recipes. We'll be here when you fancy joining us. xx

Really sorry to hear brooker - you've been through so much. Try to have some fun in non-IVF land before you decide your next move. X

resipsa · 29/08/2013 08:18

Sorry pip.

Brooker the wait is so frustrating isn't it? I got to CD47 in July after May BFN bleed. First time I'd wanted AF to arrive since late 2008 and it goes AWOL. It'd be funny if I were less uptight! Hope it shows up soon.

Lifeasafish · 29/08/2013 08:31

Hello all,

Just thought I'd do the decent thing and actually post!

Brooker/nobeer/pip - its shit isn't it? I'm sending you my best wishes and energy so that you get through the pain.

I'm nt sure where anyone is so good luck for those cycling and congratulations to those pupo and bfp!

Afm - I'm still struggling. I've decided that I'm going to try to bounce back for sept (3rd year anniversary of ttc, my birthday and anniversary and I'm going back to work - sept is my month!) I go from sadness to guilt to despair but the good days outweigh the bad. Mr fish is struggling as well unfortunately.
My review is on the 17th so I'll hopefully get an idea of when my fet may be. Not had a period yet (miscarried 3rd aug) but expecting it this weekend hopefully.

Anyhow, I do lurk and am cheering you all on from the sidelines. But cannot post often as I'm trying not to obsess.

Fish.x

Lifeasafish · 29/08/2013 08:33

Oh, thank you to all who answered my FeT questions - I'm sorry I don't remember who it was Blush.

Ive also decided to do acupuncture next time - my chi is so destroyed I do not think I will muster the chilled out me that was the first cycle! Currently researching acupuncturists...

tametortie · 29/08/2013 09:17

Hello fish xxxx

Sorry to hear you are struggling but also glad to hear you are making plans.

Whereabouts in the world are you? I can recommend good acupuncturists in the midlands.

Fabuluce · 29/08/2013 09:23

Hi Fish - if you're in Herts/Bucks/Oxon area I can recommend a great acupuncturist :) Wishing you the best for a trouble free AF.

Oh Brooks - it's unlike you to be so blue (poet, know it). Easy for us to say to try and do other things to cheer yourself up but of course that is probably the best thing for you to do. Time to get out there and do something exciting I reckon - tandem skydive?? Giving you a forehead stroke in the meantime.x

Lifeasafish · 29/08/2013 09:30

Hey tame/fab,

I'm in the big smoke. Which is sometimes difficult as google searches bring up 70 quid a session ivf specialst acupuncturists.

And tame - did you get my pm? Thank you for your message while you were away, I was truly touched.

This thread is just amazing! The support is overwhelming and I'm hoping I can contribute to that going forward!

I'm off to the midlands (northamptonshire) this weekend! We've decided on a baby/ivf talk ban.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/08/2013 09:36

It's lovely to see you Fish. A weekend away sounds perfect. I hada great acupuncturist in Essex. I remember looking at practitioners in London. It made my eyes water Wink x
