Grin twinks

resipsa · 03/09/2013 09:44

brooker sorry that it's not better news for you. Waiting is torture but after an IVF wait, the wait for other things (supermarket queues, taxis etc) seems less irritating to me.

AF due for me in 2 days. After 2 years of this rubbish, you'd have thought my brain would get the fact that anything other than its arrival is v,v,v,v unlikely but, oh no, it's there in the back of my head - what if this is the month...

tametortie · 03/09/2013 09:48

twinks epic fail!

eurochick · 03/09/2013 10:06

fish I was worried about my cycles coming back too, but in the end I was only a couple of days late after my mc. I know it's not uncommon to take longer though. Maybe some of the women on the miscarriage board on here might have some advice.

Miss blimey!

tame the milestones are tough. My baby should have arrived next month. Ouchie re: the toe!

brooker what crapola timing!

twinks that's hilarious. You obviously have very realistic dreams.

res I can never help hoping either, even after 35 cycles of this shyte.

Interesting chat re: longing for #1 or a sibling. I've sort of seen it both ways. My childhood was tinged with sadness because of my parents' longing for a second child and losing several to mcs. And now my adult life is sad because of my own longing to experience parenthood.

Sammy13x · 03/09/2013 10:37

Hi ladies. Can I join u on here? Im waiting for my ivf referral to go through atm and very scared as I didnt think it wud come to this. Been ttc for 5 years with no joy. Were unexplained infertility and have been on clomid for last 4 months. Self funding for ivf as hubby has 2 kids from previous relationships which sucks. Had all investigations done and a cyst removed and one drained.... other than that no issues with any of us. All this just wrecks my head and im really doubtful about ivf as if I can I will be egg sharing. Sorry for long post x

Fabuluce · 03/09/2013 10:44

Twinks - epic fail! Too funny but oh so frustrating for you!

Brooks - what a total arse pain for you :( Another month of waiting then I guess - just so frustrating isn't it. As my MiL would say - buggery buggery bollocks!

Tame - ouchie for the toe and I feel you re: due date. My baby was due on 14th October. My second IVF failed so there's no way I'll be preggo by the time that date comes round and I know about 5 couples who are due over the next month too. My current plan of action for dealing with it all (insane I know but it works for me!) is to mutter 'BASTARD!' either in my head or to my husband whenever I see a heavily pregnant woman - eek! I totally don't mean it but it makes me feel better somehow - probably because it makes me laugh at myself for being a crazy nutter. I actually wish them all the best but it takes the sadness out of of it for me - I hope that makes sense to at least some of you!!!

Miss - fingers crossed for you lovely! Or as they say in Holland, I'll hold my fingers for you :)

Res - me too, we just can't help but hope can we.

I don't really see much difference in the longing - it's all painful whichever way you look at it. My sister got pregnant straight away with her first and then spent 4 very long years waiting for her second and they were very tough for her. It's painful for anyone who is trying for a child and failing, regardless of whether it's no. 1 or no. 2. I've always wanted a big family and have always felt very strongly about the siblings issue (I'm the youngest of a family of 5 so I very much appreciate siblings) so can totally see why it would be so painful plus at least without any children at all I can at least step away from it. I guess that's probably part of the reason why i have no problem with putting back multiple embryos - twins would be a godsend for me at 41!

resipsa · 03/09/2013 10:45

Euro your last paragraph made me sad for you and determined that I will try for this situation not to impact on DD.

resipsa · 03/09/2013 10:55

On rereading today's posts, I see that my phone has randomly chosen the "sceptical" smiley when I intended the "sad" one. Sorry for any confusion and to tame if you thought I was sceptical about your date sadness Blush.

nobeer · 03/09/2013 11:29

res I do that too (just before AF and the cluster posting, especially when mn on phone).

brooksy I just worked out 35mm with finger and thumb. that's big! Some luck has got to be due your way soon. xx

Brooker that really is the worst Timing ever Sad
twinks your post brought a big smile to my face. Hope you have better luck tomorrow!
Hi to everyone else and welcome to Sammy.

I was back at the clinic today and got Proluton injected into my arse. Have to go back on Friday for another one. Has anyone else on here had it? Well, I am now into the second week of the 2ww and the real headfuckery has begun. Have had a couple of hot flushes at night which have left me worrying and with very Little sleep. Just feel a bit low today and have no idea which way this is going to go.

nobeer · 03/09/2013 11:35

twinks that made me laugh soo much! Do you temp chart on an app or an old fashioned bit of paper? i'm thinking of starting again.

marypops sending you a hug. Have you watched Great British Bake Off yet? That cheered me up last week.

sammy welcome!

Sammy welcome!

I think its time we all stated history etc... because I've totally lost track of what's occurring here

Tame, 32, 1 DD (10) from previous relationship. TTC for 7 years with DH. 3 previous IVF/ICSI cycles. 1 failed fertilsation, 1 BFN and 1 BFP with MMC at 7 weeks earlier this year. Its a sad state of affairs which will be resolved with girl triplets in November 2013 after our 4th cycle Hmm failing that (not an option!) it will be donor eggs.

Everyone else???

res sceptical face is my fave Hmm dont worry xxx

nobeer · 03/09/2013 12:35

Good idea Tame

Nobeer 41. TTC officially 2 years but weren't using contraception since 3 years ago. Infertility due to age and probably damage done by SJS, and they also found a septum in uterus earlier this year which they then removed. 1 failed cycle last month but 12 embryos left in freezer (nestling amongst half a bag of peas and some fish fingers) .

Thanks sooo much twinks I can't stop laughing about your dream. You really must get out more if that's all you're dreaming about Grin I am also going to start temping again I have the same issue with the glasses but luckily my therm stores the last reading.
nobeer 35mm is rather on the large side isn't it? Not sure whether I want it to burst or not!!
Now where can I go on holiday.....

Fabuluce · 03/09/2013 12:52

Fabuluce - 41, DH 35, TTC since wedding nov 2010 - unexplained infertility. Ivf 1 in jan 2013, Bfp then mmc at 8wks and erpc at 10 weeks, ivf 2 in July 2013, bfn. Excellent eggs, sperm, embryos so now looking at implantation issues and potential immune problems. Looking forward to twins (one of each obvs!) in 2014 Grin

BrookerC · 03/09/2013 12:57

Welcome sammy
Brooker, 40 . DH 38. ttc 2 years. Unexplained but I only have one ovary & tube from birth. No sperm issues.
Cycle 1 April bfn. Cycle 2 July lab error destroyed embies. Waiting to start Cycle 3 but a huge cyst has put the kibosh on this month.

Sammy13x · 03/09/2013 13:59

Wow everyone on here seems so far ahead of me in their treatment!im 26 dh 33 and no obvious issues. Has anyone been diagnosed with a problem when the ivf clinic took over? I have a gut feeling that something has been missed in my investigations and that they will find something when I start my ivf. Not sure why I think like that.

eurochick · 03/09/2013 14:05

Welcome sammy. The clinic hasn't spotted any issue for us. We remain unexplained. You definitely have youth on your side! Here's my intro:

Euro 37, mr euro, 38, TTC since late 2010 (now on 35th cycle ). Unexplained infertility. We've tried Letrozole (like Clomid) and prednisolne (immune therapy), 2xiui and 3x natural IVF. The IVFs have resulted in one miscarriage and two chem pregs. We are now having a break for more tests and to let my body and our minds recover a bit before we try again.

Sammy13x · 03/09/2013 14:24

Blimey euro u have been through a lot! Yer im still young but dont u find it hard when its unexplained? I cant get my head around how were unexplained with all the technology these days. I just feel they cant treat something thats not there.... I sound negative dont I lol. Were only guna give ivf 2 cycles as were self funding therefore to be able to afford it ill be egg sharing if all is ok. How often do u have to be at the clinic during ivf? X

WannabeMaryPoppins · 03/09/2013 14:27

Marypops 35, DH 39, TTC since Dec 2009 due to MFI. IUI April 2011, ICSI August 2012 which resulted in DS. Had a ET on the 26. August and have my Beta Test on 09.09. Fingers, toes, arms, legs etc firmly crossed.

Brooker the lab destroyed your embies!!???!! What the f*ck? I had no idea

eurochick · 03/09/2013 14:28

I find it incredibly hard. I hate hospitals and taking drugs so being told to have an invasive treatment (IVF) without anything being diagnosed was incredibly tough. However, I did get my first ever BFP from it so it clearly does overcome at least some of our issues.

How often you need to attend depends on the clinic and how you respond to treatment. For me, it was typically 4 appointments for scans and blood tests in the run up to EC, then EC (you need to take the whole day off for that at least) and then ET. And then one more blood test at the end of the 2ww. My clinic is not one of the more intense ones and that lot was not exactly career-enhancing!

twinklestar2 · 03/09/2013 14:36

I'm not temping again, it's just not meant to be I think. Glad you all had a good laugh though :D

Welcome Sammy.

Me and OH both 34, TTC since August 2011. Nothing wrong with me, slight male factor issue with OHs morphology and motility. Had IVF in July which failed. Going for a frozen cycle end of this month.

twinklestar2 · 03/09/2013 15:23

Has anyone had the scratch done? Will I need time off work?

resipsa · 03/09/2013 16:49

Would it be wrong to say I fancy a scratch? I'll try anything! That said, had ERPC last year and suppose it has the same effect...cleaning out the gunk?

Me 43 next week (agh!)
DH 37 (going on 3)
DD 2 yrs 7 months Grin
TTC No. 2 since Sept 11
MMC/ERPC March 12
ICSI May 13 BFN Sad
Awaiting DE cycle as odds with OE too low in spite of AMH of 22

resipsa · 03/09/2013 16:55

A lot of us have younger DPs. If we weren't saddled with our TTC dilemmas, I reckon we'd be HOT together on a night out.
