Hey abi I am not even 5 weeks yet! My bfp was so early time is really dragging......
What about you?

KPidgeon · 05/09/2013 09:05

I don't think caffeine makes much difference at all to conception. I'm just desperate to "do" something and so thought caffeine could go. Obviously it's not good in pregnancy so thought I'd stop now.

I've read that alcohol is more of an issue for men with conception but thought just making my DH stop whilst I keep quaffing red wine wouldn't go down well so we both stopped.

Again- not sure it will help at all as when we conceived DS we were on honeymoon in Paris- lots of strong coffee and plenty of booze! But I just want to feel I'm doing something really. And now I've stopped coffee and gone through a few days of horrid withdrawal I don't think I can go back!

muzzy glad you've got a stronger line.

We are due to start trying today but only every other day for now as due to Ovulate Weds next week. Though as my cycles have been later I guess ovulation might well be do. Back on the OPKs so hopefully I will have an idea this month of where I am.

fedupofrainydays · 05/09/2013 09:29

I'm really impressed kp. Really I am. Booze and coffee get me through life! Obviously I've given up before when pregnant but was helped by the fact I couldn't stand either!! And yes it's true about it affecting men more than woman. Keep it up and I'm sure you will see benefits!

Glad all ok muzzy and abi and hope rest of the scary 12 weeks pasts quickly for you both.
I so long to be in your shoes too please may it be me soon too!!!

POAS day is tomorrow!!!

I love how the past two weeks I've been saying that its not my month, but yet this morning I've been symptom spotting!!

It started with me googling back pain because I've noticed it has ached pretty much every day. Surprise surprise it can be a sign. As can frequent weeing (had to get up first thing yest to pee and have noticed I've been going more at work). Then fatigue (I could barely keep my eyes open when putting dd2 to bed yest and v nearly had a nap). All of which can be explained by lots of other reasons, but I'm starting to hope!!! Crazy!!

Def going to get a first response at lunch today - unfortunately there's not a SuperDrug near enough!

getagoldtoof · 05/09/2013 09:33

I agree one, you need to wait a few more days. Sunday looks likely, particularly with ewcm and rise. What time of day do you opk? P.s. that May chart would have sent me loopy with 7dpo temp dip! I overanalyse my chart!

Keepthecar, yes, I'm due 24th. Although I promise I am a loyal nutter, I am not sure I can actually bring myself to poas. Last time I did poas - my bfp got lighter each time. I don't think I would trust a bfp, which makes me sad.

Liquid - how old is ds? Returning to work is horrid. I've had pretty much 3 weeks off and am going back tomorrow. I desperately don't want to go.

KP, good work on caffiene reduction. Have you substituted it for decaf?

Ha ha fedup, I love your mum's obsession with sticking a thermometer up your fanny being the only way to ttc. Hilarious.

I have made up with dh who was very apologetic. We had sex this evening, now we've just got to keep it up for another week or so!

2beornot · 05/09/2013 09:34

MuzZy - good luck. That's the only problem with being a nutjob- you find out far too soon. I'd live to be one of this people who get to 8 weeks plus before they realise, but that's not going to happen!! I'm with you on the early scan too - and I know that's not just our nuttiness because DH agrees!!

getagoldtoof · 05/09/2013 09:36

Ooh 2be - that sounds very promising...!

getagoldtoof · 05/09/2013 09:38

I know, I wish I'd never tested early last time. It can hold so much trepidation, even if good news. However, I'm imagining pregnancy with a second child would go quicker as you've got your first keeping you busy (hopeful thinking!).

GandTnow · 05/09/2013 09:41

Glad I'm not alone in the symptom spotting 2be. I've got myself convinced that this is it. Not going to be able to wait until tomorrow. Feeling sick, tired and craving a lot of carbs, I think my jeans are a little tight too and uncomfortable with cramping - although this could be due to all the carbs Blush!
Also going to test later (when DD1 is out!)

2beornot · 05/09/2013 09:55

Getagold - good work! It reminds me of friends when chandler refuses to dtd because they are arguing so
Monica pretends to make up with him and starts the argument again!!!

Fedup - I've cut down a bit on caffeine but then I don't drink a lot anyway. I haven't read anywhere that you should but I think aiming for general healthiness is a good thing (says little miss comfort eater here!)

2beornot · 05/09/2013 09:57

GandT - good luck if you do do it early. I'm going to hold
Out for fmu tomorrow because I'm not as far along as you.

Although if they only sell then in twin packs..........

fedupofrainydays · 05/09/2013 10:19

Ooooh G&T I can wait to see your POAS results!!

OP posts:
Liquidambar · 05/09/2013 12:31

oh my god! super excited about your poas gandtnow. Grin
I'm on my way to buy the super drug test.
I think dh would be upset if I tested at work. 2be I will test tomorrow morningSmile

GandTnow · 05/09/2013 13:37

Ok, so I tested just a while back and there was a veeerrrry faint line with a frer!

I can't quite believe it! I'm clearly now going to have to keep testing until AF is meant to turn up.

Liquidambar · 05/09/2013 13:43

congratulations gandtnow Grin Horray! !!! fantastic news

2beornot · 05/09/2013 13:57

Wow!!! How many dpo are you? Def test again in the morning!!!

Congrats!!!

KeepTheCarRunning · 05/09/2013 14:27

GandT wooooow!!! that's fantastic!

GandTnow · 05/09/2013 15:58

Thanks guys, I think I'm about 9 or 10 dpo. It's still sinking in. Hoping that there will soon be some more bfps on here. Come on!

muzzy1 · 05/09/2013 20:04

Yey! Congratulations gand. Hope this is a run of BFP!

fedupofrainydays · 05/09/2013 20:04

Yay! Congrats g&t

How many cycles is this ttc # 2 for you, I can't remember!!

OP posts:
fedupofrainydays · 05/09/2013 21:17

I only had two coffees today despite having enough work and stress on to make my head explode and need caffeine to get through it. Surely that deserves a bfp?? Fed up is rather fed up and ready for her holidays despite af coming with it

OP posts:
CourgetteSmuggler · 05/09/2013 21:20

Hi everyone in TTC no 2- not alone obviously.

I've got 34 day cycles and today is 31. I tested 10 dpo and got a BFN so not holding out hope for this month.

Silly question but is it harder TTC with longer cycles. I was 28 days pre DD.

50opks and 25hpts on order from EBay!

getagoldtoof · 05/09/2013 23:03

Oh, really g&t!? Wowee, early congrats. Massively hoping that line gets big and juicy! Those frers are too good.

So tomorrow is the mass poas - I'm peeing on an opk right alongside you guys. I will be on a train, but want to catch that pm wee that will give me an idea of when to expect ov, I think Monday.

Hey courgette - welcome! Do you know when you ovulated?

Fedup, with everything you've been through you 100% deserve a bfp, especially with that mean line last month.

Liquid and 2be, I'm crossing fingers here for tomorrow. Pee, pee, pee and let it be a bfp!

fedupofrainydays · 06/09/2013 06:32

Hi courgette how old is Dd? I had a smear test yesterday and the nurse kindly told me that my cycles erpc could still be messed up from ds 1 (who is almost 2) never mind my mc in between! I don't think longer cycles make a difference it just means you have to wait a bit longer each month. I've got short cycles and its done me no favours whatsoever!

Thanks geta not at all hopeful this month tho cos of the early ov situ and kind of resigned to the fact I'm not going to be pregnant any time soon. Partic as been checked out and nothing is obvs wrong, which I know is a weird thing to say but I just feel it.

So.. Who is POAS today? If I can't get a bfp then I'm going to get excited for those of you on this thread who can!! Good luck xx

And POAS on a train?! Now that's dedication to the cause as train toilets are vile! Plus I've opened those electric door ones on Virgin trains too many times on men taking a dump!! Why don't they lock the door?!

OP posts:
2beornot · 06/09/2013 07:19

I'm POAS today. But I'm still in bed, almost scared up do it coz I know what it'll be (BFN). Why is this so heartbreaking?
