Someone needs to start a new thread! Not my turn...! Runs out in 4 posts left...

Feeling pretty crap to be honest. The blood is worse now. I've got no pain but more blood / browny discharge. And my boobs don't hurt. Feel tired and bit sick but think that's due to worry more than pregnancy. I know what will be will be but I'm just so frightened.

Hi cakebaker. I had been ttc since jan and also kept wondering whether I should use OPKs or not. I didn't need to in the end as I didn't want dtd to become even more of a schedule than it already was. Plus I could tell if we dtd around ovulation as there was less spillage (iykwim) afterwards. But I know they work for some people so would never dismiss them out of hand.

Its not that dissimilar to BDing every other day throughout the cycle really.

The premise is you bd every other day from cd8 then every day for three days I think once you get a pos opk then miss a day and bd the next for good luck. I plan on doing it next month as DP will actually be home every night not and not away randomly messing up my sex plans lol

Fot? Sorry that's my terrible typing.

Thanks both, I think I'm going to give it another month without opks and then in the new year I might look into it. I think my cycle is a bit all over the place after coming off the pill so I'm not too sure about cycle length just yet.

A quick question - anyone have any experiences of the sperm meets egg plan fot TTC? A friend told me about it but it does sound like it relies on lots of opks.

Sebs is right. I only diss them as it took the one month that I didn't use them was the one I got pregnant!! Although waiting for a pos opk can be a bit stressful / depressing when it's an empty circle for days!! (For digi ones that is).

I also have irregular cycles by up to a week so were sort of helpful with that. However I think if you get ewcm that is a pretty good indicator you need to get busy in the bedroom!

Hey cake baker

Well I think opks have a place. I was really pleased they told me I was ovulating and also showed I went from having a too short LP to a pretty average one. So they allowed me to understand my cycle a bit more.

Downside is you can end up only having sex around the time they say and they are not infallible.

Thanks fedup particularly love the wine recommendation Grin
I'm going to try really hard not to go down the opk route even though everything in my being is desperate to order a massive pack from Amazon! We're definitely going to need to have sex more often, we've both got very lazy in that department - great when we do, but really not as often these days just to life being far too busy frankly!
Hope you're all going to stick around for a bit longer on here to help keep me sane, it's good to know there are other nut jobs out there. [cheers]

Never too late cake baker
Seasoned pro here. Like you I conceived DS1 on second month of trying and the baby I miscarried also on first month of trying to then face 10 months of ttc hell!!

Words of wisdom? Wine. Don't temp or opk if you can just have regular sex (but not too often or you will wear yourself out become too much of a chore)! Don't give up stuff, just take folic acid. Any good?!

Am I too late to join in?? Been TTC #2 for just 3 months and already feel like a total nut job! Can't seem to think about anything else which is making me sooo boring, my poor DH is being very patient but I can tell he just wants to say RELAX you mad woman! Got pg immediately with DD1 so I have no experience of properly TTC before and I'm just being ridiculous and impatient! Is this the place to come for a slap please?! And some words of wisdom on how to actually relax and enjoy the whole process?

Ha ha the only problem with that theory is of course I don't believe them!! I want to but then I think nahhhhhh it's all nonsense HmmGrin

I'm contemplating a new thread as I think I'm going to be talking to myself soon, and that is not gooood.

In a way it's quite nice if you sort of know when it will happen. If someone had said to me... Look you will get pregnant in a year... Or two years.. Then I would have been 'bum, that's ages but ok I can crack on with my life in the mean time'
Maybe that's what helped get me up duffed in the end. Kind of gave up til at least the NY.

But yeah...maybe a girl in jan!! That would be ace. Xxx

She said I will fall pregnant, most likely with a son, between March and July next year. What's the betting I'll fall pregnant with a daughter in Jan lol

Wet CM, yep I've heard that a lot as a good pregnancy sign. Generally I'm very dry after O so that will definitely pique my interest if it happens!!!

Thank you xxxxxx

When was it again sebs? When did the psychic say?
I know... Me too. That's why I wasn't really listening to any of them. The most different was the cm. all the others I have had the last few months of ttc! The cm is still there but browny now which is what's scary.
Stupid af symptoms and preggo symptoms are so annoyingly similar.

God feel as though i have had all those symptoms at some point over the last 5 months lol and nothing!

I'm feeling a bit better as the months that psychic predicted i'd fall pregnant are approaching pretty fast. I know you don't believe but she predicted the same months independently of each other, told my mum and then i emailed anonymously and she said the same months again.

In one way i want her to be wrong as i want to fall pregnant asap, but on the other hand ive only got to wait a few more cycles and im in the time zone anyway so mentally its win win Grin

Ah thanks sebs, I hope the bean (or cells at this point) hear you!!

I had lots more watery cm. like quite a lot. I normally get more before af but not that much.
I also had cramps on Thursday, just like af was coming but then nothing over the weekend. I had the same with DS.

Felt a bit odd too and bit sick but then have done a fair bit over recent months pre af so was trying to ignore!!
Oh and insanely emotional. Crying at everything happy or sad!

I've heard early preg spotting can go on for weeks, totally understand why you want it to stop already though!!! You have so many people rooting for you on here that i don't think this pregnancy would dare be anything other than H&H ;)

I was going to ask, were there any pre BFP symptoms that made you think hmmmmm, or really is symptom spotting just bullshit and you are only going to know when the witch stays away and a second line appears?

fedupofrainydays · 03/12/2013 17:33

Yeah doctor to me it didn't but old school stuff says it does. And all three times I've conceived were when we did it less. Of course you would! I would have no mid week sex for starters! Way too tired by the time we get to bed!

I just want it to stop. I thought implantation was supposed to be just a day or so, this is day 3! DH says he's going to do all the rushing around for so I'm happy about that!!

I'm not sure having sex everyday actually helps with the quality of sperm. I think the prob with opks is they give you a hell for leather approach to BDing. You stop listening to your body and concentrate on one key time of the month. When we are not TTC I don't think we would have sex in that routine. You'd naturally spread it out I think.

Seems like a good plan sebs. It worked for both fedup and I that we just went back to basics!

Fedup - everything you've described so far sounds completely normal. I truly understand how difficult it is not to worry at the moment but I'm sure it'll be fine x

Yes - I found no sticks and no thermometers quite a relief! And stopping having sex every day. It was too much with our stressful jobs and DS to look after.

DH has told me he's scared too. Means so much he's so badly wants DC2 as well. Obviously affected by the miscarriage and ttc pain more than I thought.
