Hi

Just thought as there was a thread for the older mums (there words not mine)Smile
that i would start one for the younger ones.

Think AF is on her way (fingers crossed) as i normally have 48-70 cycles this will be my first one at 34/35 days - yippee.

It probably won't happen now, anyway feel free to write away.

TTC 11 month - waiting for appoinment at fertlity clinic.

the one i saw was a mamas and papas travel system with carry cot as well.

I have a feeling my first will be a boy and would like it to be a suprise but my OH wants to find out when we get to that stage.

That's the exact shop I was in today the Mama's and Papa's on Regent Street it's a two floor haven of all things to do with Baby's!

Where do you live Natty?

I'm lucky enough to have already been given a Mama's and Papa's cot and a moses basket which are just like the current one's but they're at my parents house as I won't let them in the house!

Still can't help choosing more though!

Natty1806 · 30/06/2006 21:29

Lucky you. No i would not let them in my house either.

It was not a mama's and papa's shop, i think i would love the one you were in but end up spending a fortune.

I live near Oxford, about 40 mins from London. do you live in London?

Yeah I do which is great but the problem is there is so many baby shops to pop into! Have you tried the Little White Company it does the most beautiful things but slightly more pricey than most!!

My friend has a six month old boy and I can't help but keep picking out oufits for him.

How long have you been TTC Natty?

Natty1806 · 30/06/2006 21:43

I have been trying since last July and am on the nhs waiting list to see a consultant for a drug called clomid as i do not appear to ovulate. Am looking at a private hospital on Tuesday to see what that is like and the cost and then try to persuade OH that i really want to crack on with this ttc lark and go private, he thinks we should just wait and save our money.

I am not too bad at the baby shops, i try to avoid them as they make me so broody, i just can't wait to be able to look around them with my bump and start buying the magazines.

Am i correct in thinking you start trying next month?

I am charting and using OPK this month as i think my body might start to ovualte as i am having acupunture to help make me regular and worked last month so once i know for sure i can make a decision, because if i do ov this month then i probably won't go private, but as i am being stricked with myself with the temp taking i am not drinking which is very hard as i usally go out on staurdays and have a few and forget about ttc for a night.

Well I have officially finished the pill now and I am on my AF so after this we will start trying properly. For several months I have been very bad with taking my pill OOps forgetting to take it on my most fertile days but there we no accidents!!.

My mother took two and a half years to have me and my DP's mum took three years so I think it might take a while!. I also have been on the pill for 11 years due to extreme period pains and passing out and being sick so i'm a little nervous of the side effects I will have of coming off the pill but it will be worth it.

I don't know why either but I have a feeling our first will be a boy as well!

I hope it spontaneously happens for you this month!

Natty1806 · 30/06/2006 22:02

thanks, wishfull thinking though.

Anyway i am going to be an old fart and go to bed and watch bb as i do my temp at 5.30 every morning, and have the usual food shopping, housework etc to do before i go out and watch footie with OH tomorrow.

Been nice talking to you. Keep me posted on how you get on, you never know you might get preg straight away, lots of people on this site have.

When is it were meant to do it? is it day nine to fifteen after your period? Just trying to mark it in the diary so I don't forget!

Also is it from first day of period or last?

Natty1806 · 02/07/2006 11:40

It is best to try and do it every other day if you can, especially as this will be your first month and people vary on the day they ovulate, i am on day 18 today and my CBFM says i have got high fertility today so hopefully i will get peak in a few days and will mean that i am going to ovulate.
(fingers crossed)

Day 1 is the first day of proper bleed.

Hiya,

I'm not a first time mum but I am 24 and trying to convince DP that we should try for DC2 this month. If I can convince him to try for no 2 will I qualify for this thread??? [begging face]

Oh and Nicki10 I fell pregnant with my DD a month after my 21st bday and I can curtainly say that I had my fair share of people treating me as though I was just a child. I even had people ask me how old I was (disaprovingly) while I was pregnant, thinking I was yonger than my age. But my mum had me at 19and a half and I think that we are closer for it.

Nicki10 · 04/07/2006 17:25

Thanks Bubblez

My mum had me when she was twenty four but it took her two and a half years of trying, and we have always been extremely close even though I know live in London we still talk on the phone at least once a day but normally twice this is what i would like for me and my children as well.

I feel like a have to tell everyone how much we want kids so they don't think it's accidental!

Xavielli · 04/07/2006 17:34

Nicki10 - I got pregnant with DS at 18 (nearly 19) people who knew me where fine with it and knew that it was what I wanted and that I could cope with it.

Stranger however used to tell me that I was ruining my life ie.. not finishing my education etc etc. On that note.. I am going back to college/uni this year when DD is 5 months to get a career, which I know I never would have found the motivation to do so if I hadn't had my babies... They make me want to improve myself to make their life better IYSWIM.

Just ignore them.. you'll be a great Mum.. the fact that you want this baby with your all says so to me!

bubblez · 04/07/2006 18:18

I agree about ignoring the negative comments.

I did get a b@~#ckin from dp's mum though, you know, the usual 'you lot are effin up your lives', 'your trapping my son', 'you won't be good mother material'. But I can safely say that my life is far from effed up, dp stays with us because he loves us and finally I think I make a dammn great mother!!

IMO having children at a young age is a bonus and if you feel as though you and your partner are ready then go for it...

Good luck to all that are trying BTW!!

spugs · 04/07/2006 20:37

had my 1st at the grand old age of 20 and just had my 2nd 10 wks ago at the ancient age of 25 . fell pregnant with my first in one night but my second took 4 mths. Same happened to my sister but her second took 3 years! i love being a young mum and ouldnt change it for the world, even considering trying for number 3 as i would love a boy (got 2 girls)

Nicki10 · 04/07/2006 22:04

Thank you all for your lovely messages and support.

If I was lucky enough to fall pregnant now I would be twenty three when I gave birth and I already have my degree and I have worked in my chosen career but to me a family and children have always been more important.

Well done to you girls with children already and a young family you have achieved a lot more than most 30 somethings who are still single and out on the lash every friday and saturday (not to say I don't like the odd cheeky cocktail!)

I hope we all get BFP's soon!

bubblez · 05/07/2006 10:11

Spugs - that is what I worry might happen to me. I keep thinking that I will manage to pursued dp into having no 2 and then have problems TTC. Three years is a long time and my cicle is irregular to say the least, it's funny, I'm only 24 but feel as though I'm far from the extreemly fertile 21 yr old I was when I first concieved.

Anyway maybe I'm getting ahead of myself DP might just point blank refuse to have another. Will find out soon though. If he does then ggggrrrrrr

bubblez · 05/07/2006 10:16

BTW how is going for everyone else Natty, Nicki, Hopecat, Beccy, Decafgirl, showofhands and anyone else TTC??

Nicki10 · 05/07/2006 11:52

Well it's going alright thsnks Bubblez it was a bit cooler last night but I suddenly realised what an effort it is BDing can't imagine how I managed it so often when we first got together! Such a lonhg time ago!

Nicki10 · 05/07/2006 11:56

Natty I forgot to ask yesterday how was your appointment with the private hospital?
