The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooh we are strict...please note your house may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments lol

I'm a little skeptical because I don't think a single consultant can know everything and keep up with all the latest research. And the latest research definitely suggests (excluding people who have a known low sperm count) that whilst every day sex reduces overall sperm numbers the number of 'high quality' (my words) sperm stay pretty much the same and the number is more than enough

Sorry Sid that doesn't help you!
On another note, have you had DHs sperm tested?

Yep, he's fine, all his SA results were well above average so no issues there. We went over the proposed DTD schedule several times and he was adamant that it was sufficient, but obviously it hinges on me ovulating on Weds: so really his advice was day before ov, day after ov and again 3 days after ov just in case ov was late. I'll be OPKing and will try to time it according to his suggestion. I think maybe the reason it appeals to me is that it's different to what we've done for 14 cycles now.

As to what's next, if this cycle doesn't work, then I'll do Clomid from CD2 + scans and then trigger shot, with all of it written out for me and monitored closely. Sounds very sexy Hmm

Sid so glad you got some answers and things are moving in the right direction for you!

Bunny our 1st FC appointment is 2 weeks Friday and I'm weirdly excited about it too! Grin

sid this sounds very thorough and positive and pretty reassuring even if you don't have a full explanation yet. Have you been seeing a consultant in London? I feel that I could do with a similar overall check and am not sure I am patient enough to only go through the NHS process. I'm 39 in a couple of months so can't afford to wait around much longer.... would you recommend them?

Just popping in to say hello!

Sid have to say that's the most positive account of a first FC appt I've ever heard, consultant sounds great (although I agree with merk re: DTD, that sounds a bit out of date) and I'm glad you're feeling reassured. Totally sexy knowing you're going to get a sex schedule next cycle! Blush

I've scrolled back up a little way but realise I'm never going to catch up properly, so I'll satisfy myself by waving enthusiastically at all of you, sending positive vibes to those waiting to poas and Cake and [tea] to anyone licking wounds or feeling down at the moment x

Kuma, yes I would definitely recommend this place, it was recommended to me by the lovely Charming and I'll PM you their details.

We followed all NHS guidelines for when to go for bloodwork/tests etc, and in the end, my new GP referred us to a FC at the 12 month mark (old GP said to wait til 14th cycle, why? who knows), but the initial intake consultation (was set for 6.5 months hence Shock with testing to follow 2-3mos after. It was then moved up to 5.5 months after referral, then moved up again to 8 weeks after referral - which ultimately was great, but still would've meant 2-3 months longer to wait for testing. I'm still going to go to the consultation (on Sat!) but mainly to make sure that the NHS can't offer us anything further than we've just gotten privately, and to get info on their IVF clinic, which can be self-funded.

Overall I feel like all the right boxes have been ticked, but what's appropriate for a 35yr old takes on more importance at age 38-39 and in our age bracket, things don't seem to move as quickly as we need them to. I think having a private consultation would be a great thing for you Thanks

Hi Bunny, hi all. Sounds like there's a few of us working at the same school, as I definitely had the 'this is what you are not doing well enough, you might think you are working as hard as you can but now you need to work harder' INSET experience. Feel wiped out already and haven't even had to face the kids yet.

Don't know if it will help you with your DTD dilemma Sid, but after months of knackering ourselves every shag fortnight (bl

Very near, if you factor bus/train/underground Wink and yes, I think there are a fair amount of Berries in this part of the world.

If I remember correctly, you're in a spot with a very fast train service heading to a major station. I sent you a good vibe or two as we passed through your station Thanks

Grrrr...I do that every time. Anyway, after months of panicking about getting the right time and doing it every day to cover all bases, hubby and I only DTD twice the month it worked. Once two days before I think I ov'd, and once the day I ov'd. I'm not saying that had anything to do with us getting lucky, but if it all goes wrong this time, at least I know that we don't necessarily have to shag like bunnies to be in with a chance.

Evening!

sid glad your appointment went well, it must be nice to feel like somebody is taking control and helping. That sex deadline sounds scary, my DH struggles with the pressure at the mo, that would totally freak him out!

Ooh happy we seem to be continuing on our journey together Smile

kuma using a penguin as a spoon made me chuckle!
