Bobblehead, af is due properly on Wed/Thurs this week, so if it doesn't turn up then, I will test again. I am pretty clockwork when it comes to the old af.
What stage are you at now? x

ShowOfHands · 17/07/2006 15:05

Afternoon all!

I've been waiting for my colleague to buzz off all day so that I could come on and see how everybody is/tell you what's happening with me.

Firstly, wannabump, that's GREAT news!

I'm on CD26 today (of 27) and as I posted a few days ago, have never had a single symptom in the 9 months of ttc. Well, for the last two days I have had cramping, just like I get on the first day of AF, but with no bleeding. So, yesterday afternoon I did my very first hpt ever and there was a very faint line. I did another this morning first thing and it was another faint line, but slightly stronger than yesterday. Both lines appeared after about two minutes. BUT, I am not getting my hopes up yet. They were el cheapo tests from ebay so I'm going to stay on this thread, wait a few days and test again. I've all but convinced myself that they were evaporation lines, but there's a glimmer of hope (you should hear my head right now: "but you don't have any symptoms, but I got two faint lines, but you don't have any symptoms, but a line's a line, right? but you're just not that lucky, but but but etc etc")

So, I am mildly hopeful but semi-convinced it's not true.

It's all very confusing! Please keep your fingers crossed for me and I'll do the same for all of you that are still waiting to test!

Sexonlegs · 17/07/2006 15:09

SOH, that sounds very promising. I had no symptoms with my dd - I just failed to have af on the day it was due, did a test and nearly fell over. And, a line is a line as they say. How exciting!!! Let us know!!!

ShowOfHands · 17/07/2006 15:20

Ooh I will let you know SOL!

Natty1806 · 17/07/2006 15:25

Sounds to me like a big congrats is in order

GO and buy a digital one now. x

Beccy1974 · 17/07/2006 15:31

paws crossed showofhands.. sounds v positive; faint lines are lines usually aren't they :-)

pinkranger · 17/07/2006 15:35

bobblehead · 17/07/2006 16:11

Sounds great SOH!

Still think it sounds good for you too SOL. I am on cd27 of 35 (i expect) day cycle so a while to wait for me. I have absolutely no hope whatsoever this month though. I'm expecting my Toni Welcher book to arrive any day though so can become even more obsessed looking for signs of ov when I've read that!

ShowOfHands · 17/07/2006 16:39

Right, I finish work at 5pm, if I cycle really fast I can get to my local Boots before it closes, but is there any point when I'm not pregnant? At all. Not a bit.

(Who am I kidding, we all know I'm going straight from work to get a Clearblue digital anyway).

Thanks for the congrats, just hope they're well placed!

Will be back this evening with an update or should I wait till tomorrow morning when AF is actually due. Sod it, I'll get a 2 pack and do both if needs be...

Sexonlegs · 17/07/2006 17:03

Bobblehead, I love you for your enthusiasm and positivity - thank you! I am really not holding out hope though, but am willing to be proven wrong!! Enjoy the book when it arrives - you'll probaby fall preggers before it does!!
SOH, I am sooooo excited for you. xx

Piffle · 17/07/2006 18:00

SOh, I had very faint tests on el cheapos from ebay at 7dpo, thought they were evaps
Tested again next morning with CB (not digital) and faint blue line straight away
So did what any normal lass would do, went out and bought a first response and bang nice pink line!
CB line was with late afternoon wee...

Beccy1974 · 17/07/2006 18:19

piffle, xcuse me asking.. what cd did u ov.. on?do u think that is why you got a faint line 8 days post ov?

ShowOfHands · 17/07/2006 19:28

Well I cycled like a loon to make it to Boots on time and the queue was enormous. I felt like screaming about how unnecessary suntan lotion purchases and advantage card queries were when I needed to buy something that could change my life.

Eventually got home and discovered that I couldn't 'go'. So 90minutes later I've managed it and....

BFP!!!!!!

Told DH immediately who burst into tears, said wow repeatedly and then said 'get on Mumsnet'.

So here I am.... pregnant.

Does anybody want details about conception? Happy to share if you want!

Nicki10 · 17/07/2006 19:32

Wow congratulations SOH yes we want all the details and tips for BFP's!

Natty1806 · 17/07/2006 19:38

yes fill us in. We want all the details, and a quick reminder how long you been trying etc.

thanks

wright4845 · 17/07/2006 19:42

CONGRATULATIONS SOH! Been thinking of you all day!!!!
Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy xxx

bobblehead · 17/07/2006 19:43

Yes, we want way tmi! As much as you can give!!

Oh and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

As the proud owner of the latest BFP I think you should predict who will be next....

ShowOfHands · 17/07/2006 19:50

Okay...

I came off the pill 9 months ago and started having a regular 28 day cycle immediately and we weren't actively 'trying' but weren't preventing it either. This was the first month that I had decided to keep an eye on ovulation to make sure we were doing it at roughly the right time. So we BDed on CDs 9, 11, 12, 13 and 15. I ovulate on CD12

Baby (Baby!) was conceived on July 1st (90th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme). We were at my parents' house and they were at work, we were home alone and it reminded us of being teenagers many moons ago when we first met. So my first db was conceived on my parents' sofa in the heat of the moment. I was kind of lying back and DH was kneeling on the floor. It was the first and only time I have ever lain on the floor afterwards with my legs akimbo, trying to aid nature. And, hey presto, it worked!

This is our first baby, due on March 27th according to t'internet and I am bloomin' over the moon.

I've even taken a picture of the pregnancy test incase I think it's all a dream tomorrow.

I wish you all lots of love and luck for lots of BFPS!

ShowOfHands · 17/07/2006 19:54

Aww thanks for the congrats. I am so happy and I couldn't possibly predict who's next, but I can say that I never bothered with ttc threads before, I just had a weird hunch that this one would be a lucky one. And it has been and I think it will continue to be so!

Did I give you enough info or do you need to know what DH was wearing and the colour of my parents' (my parents! the shame!) sofa too?

PS the answers are bugger all and blue in that order!

Natty1806 · 17/07/2006 19:55

LOL

i can just imagine your mum and dad's faces if they happen to pop back in with you on the floor with your legs in there.

Nice story to tell in years to come.

bobblehead · 17/07/2006 19:59

Just out of curiosty, how did you know you were ovulating?
And how long did you keep your legs in the air for?

Piffle · 17/07/2006 20:05
