Oh really Kemie? I'm not squeamish but the idea of a moon cup really grosses me out, in reality it's probably completely different to how I imagine it though.

Forgot to bring a change with me today and I've used my handbag supply sigh I'm finishing today at 3.45 so I'm hoping if I wait as long as possible that toilet roll will see me home.

Going to Edinburgh this weekend for a henny. YAY! I'll be AWOL till Monday.

I must admit I'd never heard of a mooncup before, so just had a look on the website. I tend to have around 3 days of really quite heavy flow and although the website says its ideal for that as it holds more 3x than a tampon, I don't understand how its not just incredibly messy to change?! Would be interested to hear more about them first hand Kemie though as I'd definitely consider one. I hate having my peak af days when I'm at work as constantly back and forward to the loo so this could be a solution!. Anyway, hopefully if this bus is lucky won't need to worry about AF for a good while!

I'm not sure what is planned, I think there are a few craft type activities organised and a cocktail making session. There's not been an itinerary given. Should be good fun though, I'm looking forward to it.

Disney it's not as bad as you imagine, and you'll soon get used to it

it took me quite a while to pluck up the courage to try a mooncup, but as soon as I tried it never went back. Imaginaryhat I also get quite heavy periods for a few days and will wear a liner just in case of leaks however don't need to change it as much as I usually did with the super plus tampons I went through. Also it only holds what it needs to which means no sucking away of the natural moisture, I always found the worst bit of my period was at the end when it was light, and the tampon would dry my out completely, resulting in dry painful removal.

It's best to try it out on a day when your not at work, and they suggest giving it a go for the first time towards the end of your period whilst you get used to it. Gives you a chance to work out the logistics before finding yourself stuck in the work cubical thinking of the best way to sort it out. (I find a wipe with tissue is sufficient when there isn't easy access to water, some people carry small bottles of water around)

Best thing? All that money being saved (as well as it being a healthier alternative with no risk of TSS

Thanks for the insight Kimie, it does sound tempting. I think I might wait and see what happens this month but if I don't get my bfp (which obviously I am going to, along with everyone else on this bus!) then I might look at getting one.

I am tempted to try it, I'm sure if I did I would be a convert!

I suppose you can put it in even when you aren't on a period to practice before the big event to minimise disastrous learning curve episodes?

Well considering we're all going to get bfp's this month we won't need to worry about buying one til AT LEAST April!

Brilliant, although I never 'turn' mine, and yeah getting it out takes some practice (a friend of mine ditched hers after first time removal trauma). Just time and patience and not trying for the first time when getting on a plane!

That's hilarious! I particularly enjoyed her concerns that it was working its way up into her fallopian tubes like a parasitic jellyfish!

My uterus has exploded today so I have come to hop on this bus instead.

It's not a good day. My washing machine has also stopped working and it's 1000 degrees outside with no way to wash my clothes. And the cat won't hurry up and eat the fly that's buzzing round the house. And and and ugh.

I have weird cycles, anything from 30 - 45 days so we will just need to dtd lots and hope for the best!any one else have really irregular cycles?

I see the bus is filling up now, there'll be lots of BFP's this month, I can feel it in my bones . just made arrangements to go to London this weekend to see OH and DTD but then realised that 4 hours on a hot smelly coach tomorrow isn't really something I'm looking forward to! Worth it though if i get PG as a result! For clarification, I don't live with OH at the moment but am moving to London in September.
