Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

As a newbie to this ttc game, I have a question for all you lovely ladies - what's your approach to booze while ttc? Have you completely stopped, stopped just during 2ww, or carrying on boozing until bfp?

For now, I have completely stopped, but I'm soon going to be in a situation where it will be very unusual for me to not be drinking...

roodles I don't drink any way (alcohol that is) but I know several ttc who carried on drinking till their bfp.

I think a few peeps on here also have still drunk alcohol.

Im pretty much stopped bar the odd 1/2 lager/ smll gls w/wine
don't think you should put your life on hold, balanced with being sensible to max fertility

I always know there's been a BFP when there are like 20 extra posts since I last looked. Congrats comms, we got one at last! Did you POAS at work?! How did you get through the afternoon?!

Liking the shag plan essie, cleaning will take your mind off it for the evening too... Yeah right! Does anything actually take your mind off it?!

Roodles - my advice is carry on as normal. I wouldn't get wrecked or anything but you can't put everything in hold. You'll drive yourselves crazy.

Finally, writer, whilst I hope your stay here is short and your BFP is quick I also had a one time mistake when I was 19 ending in getting pregnant and thought it would mean I got upduffed quite quick but 11 months in and nothing. One doesn't necessarily lead to the other...

I know, lol, just trying to be positive

Plus, it was 13 years ago so I'm guessing my fertility has taken a nose dive since then .

Asda pizzas are the best! They are our Friday treat sometimes. Have to have separate ones though as DP choose rubbish toppings!

We have only had it because of Hubby's birthday - he is usually a health food and fitness freak!!

I always think his pizzas are gross....he has steak and pepperoni. Eew!

I play it safe with plain chicken, spicy chicken, red onions and mushrooms. Yummy!!

well cape officially out today. dh text me telling me to come home for a lunch time quickie! very unlike him, its usually me nagging that we'll never get a bfp if we don't dtd. we did have a little fall out last week when ertd arrived stupid hormones clouding my level head do I think he is starting to take on board that it ain't just gunna happen without effort! he was surprised today to learn this is cycle 7. I have to say though I feel like I can't be bothered with TTC atm. its boring me now. I just want a bfp! maybe that's a good thing, I was getting a little crazy about it. it will probably be back to obsession when I reach the twot though.

lil good luck with the appraisal tomorrow swanky contraband is a machine that tells you when to pee on sticks and then analyzes them and keeps track of your cycle; it detects the LH surge like the regular OPK sticks, but also the estrogen surge before the LH surge, so you ultimately get notified of even more days you are potentially fertile. It hasn't told me to pee on anything yet, only 5 or 6 days since ERTD. I'll keep you posted...

zing we were definitely TTCo ourselves in the beginning too, and we have no kids yet! Now we are in it to win it.

Thank you everyone! I peed on two sticks at work - one so I could get a bfn, stop thinking about my Babs boobs and actually get some work done, and then another just to check :). Second one was fainter but still definitely a line, no tilting involved! And then I took a digital one when I got home. Think I might lay off the sticks now.

Been thinking about how I'm going to tell DP but what's actually going to happen is I'm going up burst into tears and blurt it straight out so I'm not even going to attempt anything else!
