Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Happy shagging shaggers!

That's good of him fifi! Nice to have a DP that's as interested in it all as we are!

Think my cape is going away for this cycle now, only few days left to see if it worked. If not next months cape will need air con!

fifi669 · 23/07/2013 20:09

Pretty sure today will be the last day of fertility, though we may get a bit of cape action over the next few days to be sure.

Feeling positive Smile

Would like to know the result of our efforts now though! Instead must enter the dreaded 2ww

Bearfacedchic · 23/07/2013 20:29

Fifi- 2ww is known as the TWOT found these here parts mainly because it feels as bad as it sounds. Grin

I'm having ov pains and cm but should be home in a few hours to get my cape on. Currently sitting at the motorway services while some dickhead man thinks it's okay to subject everyone else to listen to his blues music on his laptop at top volume. Meanwhile on the tv BBC have baby mania on repeat. I may very well be in purgatory. Although, respectfully, I don't believe in so must be hell instead. I soooo want to go over and show him my headphones and say 'These are headphones. It's what everyone else uses so they don't piss people off.' I won't though.

Hurrah for everyone capering about tonight. Geddit? Grin

cookielove · 23/07/2013 20:33

OH's just back form buying rollers so we're off to get his sodding wall painted and then maybe a shared clean-up which might lead to other things.... hitting the back-end of the window for this month but who cares, I need some fun!

pizzaqueen · 23/07/2013 20:47

We havent dtd in over a week and he hasnt came inside me in two months or more but I still feel the need to pee on a stick. Hard to break a habit!Hmm

I'm actually just avoiding the masses of housework I have to do.

ChocChaffinch · 23/07/2013 20:50

cookie - when are you going to tell your fam?

fifi669 · 23/07/2013 21:28

bear what does TWOT stand for?

ChocChaffinch · 23/07/2013 21:31

two week wait ie the time after ovving window ends and you just bump along, waiting to see if ertd comes after approx. 2 weeks

Writerwannabe83 · 23/07/2013 21:34

Cookie - I know what it's like not being able to tell anyone. I really wanted to tell my sister and our mutual best friend but he said no Sad

However, I have told 5 people at work - purely for the reason of Health and Safety of course....... Grin

Choc I didn't get my BFP until the afternoon of the day before my period was due!! Keep the faith!!! Smile

lil1ady · 23/07/2013 21:41

twot madness. I'm a-stench with it. GAH!

AuntieMaggie · 23/07/2013 22:06

Bloody hell you can't use anything when you're pregnant can you??? I bought some calamine cream for my prickly heat today and it said not to use in pregnancy Confused

Tonight DP went out cycling and has come back too knackered to dtd and I go away with work tomorrow for three days :( and then we're in a tent at the weekend...

My asthma has been bad for the last few weeks because of this humid weather.

ZingWidge · 23/07/2013 22:38

no Auntie nada

once you are shagged you are fucked

fifi669 · 23/07/2013 22:39

Just tried to dtd, think DP has hit a brick wall. He stopped (quite lovingly with kisses etc) and then admitted the sex wasn't feeling as good as normal Sad he says he still wants to dtd with me and he doesn't know why it was like that.

He attempted to restart things a bit later but it kinda put me on a downer....

Strokethefurrywall · 23/07/2013 22:40

Hello to the newbies!

I'm already feeling nausea, lovely doctor has already given me two types of medication so I'm going to start taking it once it gets too bad to handle.

I think we do things slightly differently over here as we're lucky enough to have access to early scans as part of our healthcare. We're booked in for 1st scan on 2nd August and I'll be 5+6. We saw DS's heartbeat at exactly the same stage so all being well in the next couple of weeks, I've only got a short wait before seeing it. I feel for you all having to get through the 12 weeks before seeing baby - we've told our family and some close friends and will probably tell wider circle after the heartbeat. I think living so far from home it means I'd rather have the support of my family and friends if this one doesn't stick then keep it to ourselves.

Now I'll tell you something interesting that my OBGYN said - so I was in our appointment on Friday evening and I was telling him about how I was mid way through a pint glass of red when I did the test and of course I didn't finish the glass once I found out. He sat there shaking his head and then said "you can continue to have 2-3 glasses of wine 2-3 times a week, it's totally fine." I asked him if this included the first trimester and he said "absolutely, doesn't matter when. As long as you're not doing shots or drinking to get drunk, then the risk is so tiny that it's almost impercetable. If you're already an alcoholic with liver damage then yes, there is a much greater risk to the baby through general lifestyle but if you're healthy and have a decent relationship with alcohol then you can continue to enjoy your glasses of wine if you're feeling well enough for it."

I swear, I sat there with my mouth open! I would never have expected that from a trained professional with a billion accolades and awards on his wall. It's good to know though, not that I'm planning on a binge of course, but flying up to Toronto with girlfriends tomorrow and it will make the trip much more enjoyable knowing I can have a couple of glasses without guilt. That's if it doesn't make me puke and/or fall asleep first. I couldn't touch wine the last time, I went totally off it for my whole pregnancy!

Bearfacedchic · 23/07/2013 22:47

Ooo sorry I was driving. Thanks others for filling Fifi in.

Feeling knackered but MUST don my cape!!!

My asthma has been bad too. Thank goodness for inhalers.

Right. I've lost track. So, can we recap as to who is upduffed? Grin

lil1ady · 23/07/2013 23:18

think it might be quicker to run thru those of us not upduffed!

Rockchick1984 · 23/07/2013 23:29

Stroke different countries have different recommendations - NHS says no more than 1-2 units once or twice a week after first trimester (a large glass of wine is 2 units). Personally I am chilled about a few drinks later in pregnancy however I wouldn't risk it in first tri as that's when everything is forming - later on is mostly growth.

Auntie use sudocrem, it works a treat :)

Bearfacedchic · 24/07/2013 00:02

Yay for the wine Stroke! I've always thought that. Our parents' generation were practically raging drunks and we're all fine. DH's mother smoked with get first two and they're normal. (Not advocating smoking while preggers btw, before anyone says! )

Nessalina · 24/07/2013 00:14

Lol, I second that lil - this Fred is crawling with upduffed viroids!! Wink
I am still of the not pregnant variety! sigh ERTD has left the building, gonna get my cape on tomorrow!
Stroke I read into the booze or no booze thing quite a bit, and your doc is spot on, they can't prove that 2-3 units a week does anything bad to your babe. In fact, there's some evidence that the children of mothers who drank 1-2 units a week grew up to have less behavioural difficulties than those who abstained altogether! The difficulty they have is that they also cannot conclusively prove that booze during pregnancy does no harm, because they cannot do a scientific study in which they require upduffed ladies to drink just to see what happens! So most people, including the UK government, go with 'we don't know for sure it's not bad, so lets not, just in case'. When I get there myself I fully intend to have a glass of wine once a week just to keep myself sane! Grin

Bearfacedchic · 24/07/2013 00:27

Well I'm not duffed. That's one in the no camp.

I can't scroll back so I'm really sorry if I forget anyone but here goes:
The duffed camp is Rock, Writer, Cookie, Stroke, Auntie, Commsgirl and Andie! Here, have a Crown each. Have I missed anyone? I feel like I have. Oh dear, sorry if I have.

I somehow missed reading the whole of page 34 of this Fred and do missed your royal baby reactions and Red at the obs.

Well done Red- it's shit when they hand you out such terminology so matter of factly. Sad Try not to worry though.

I'd probably better keep my thoughts about the royal baby hype to myself. Let's just say Hmm.

Managed to get the cape on this evening (it's a coral colour like the sunset for the hot summer nights!) so hoping for an ironic BFP with Thursday in mind.

Someone at work was absentmindedly chatting about Ttc from Christmas onwards and I really wanted to say 'if only you knew how hard it can be, you'd start now!' But it wasn't my place to do so.

Redshoes56 · 24/07/2013 03:38

Good evening, all! (Although it'll be morning by the time you read this.) stroke I love that you have the doc's blessing to have some Wine throughout, I've always felt the health benefits of this must outweigh the risks. People will look at you funny, but eff them. Our parents definitely did all the things women are afraid to do now eating tuna and lunch meat, the nerve! and we all turned out fine. Well, somewhat Grin.

fifi maybe he's just nervous about shagging with intent? Hope you are feeling better when you read this.

I am so, so tired -- very long and tedious management training seminar at work today. I really just can't bear the thought of putting on the cape. DH is upstairs snoring away anyway, so it's just me and a big fat orange cat in my lap, and his big fat cat brother sleeping contentedly on the other couch. Maybe if we don't have kids, we'll adopt more kitties...
