Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Happy shagging shaggers!

zing it's a pack of dark choc digestives FFS theyre all a bit melty from the heat and Ive had approx. 10 already...

ChocChaffinch · 15/07/2013 20:27

hmm. holiday thing is a conundrum. Ive extricated myself from a tenuous family obligation by murmuring about some friends we possibly are going away with for a change...
you could...
a) book it, potentially lose deposit, though good friends would understand & be pleased for you
b) tell friends you're trying so don't want to promise into the future
c) don't answer directly and shuffle around to avoid committing for a couple more months and re-assess situation then
d) hint darkly of 'serious money isshoos' and sniff theatrically, they should back off
e) avoid them and change your mobile number
f) book it, and go, pg or bf'ing or whatever

DulcetMoans · 15/07/2013 20:29

I had a fudge disaster as well choc. DP got some at a craft market yesterday and left them in my bag. Now mostly one piece of fudge.

Isn't it weird how different doctors/regions say different things. Mine said to me about PCOS when I was there about my weight but said she wouldn't test until I had been TTC for a year. Wasn't even trying then. But I know people that have been diagnosed without even TTC so doesn't seem fair!

ZingWidge · 15/07/2013 20:32

choc

2 options really - stick 'em in your gob or in the fridge!

ZingWidge · 15/07/2013 20:33

scrap that, only 1 option, you must teleport them to me!Wink

ChocChaffinch · 15/07/2013 20:33

gob it is. Thanks Zing, I was confused

NO! ZING! I need you to talk me away from the buggers Grin

ChocChaffinch · 15/07/2013 20:34

I think a lot of GP type doctors talk a lot of shite about gynaecology in general.

Nessalina · 15/07/2013 20:35

Excellent options Choc :-D
Tricky to plan your life around a maybe but I guess that's what we've gotta do. We normally have a couple of hols booked in advance (just like cottage with friends, or a week in Europe) and I SO badly wanna book something for next summer, but best not eh?
I even didn't pay for a mini bus back from a wedding last weekend coz we had to book 3 months before and I figured I'd be upduffed so I'd be driving. How naive to think it'd be that speedy Hmm Cue a desperate-to-be-drunk Ness trying to persuade DH that he wanted to drive the 45mins back from the wedding when I'd already promised to drive! No such luck Confused

Nessalina · 15/07/2013 20:36

I think the power's gone to Zing's head Grin

ChocChaffinch · 15/07/2013 20:39

dulcet I frickin' LOVE fudge

ZingWidge · 15/07/2013 20:43

Nessa tru dat!

just trying tiaras now...

pizzaqueen · 15/07/2013 20:46

Ahh yes the holiday booking conundrum! I'm having the same issue...want to book abroad holiday for April/may next year but what if I'm upduffed!? I don't want to be away if I'm early pg in case anything goes wrong again and equally not wanting to be heavily pg and hot and bothered running after a three year old and grumpy hot DP. But if we don't book I'll be gutted to miss out on foreign holiday if I don't get pg. if we leave it we will miss free child places and it'll be too late to book annual leave Confused

cookielove · 15/07/2013 20:53

I have the reverse problem with holidays.

I am flying out for my brother's wedding in June. So need to get pregnant this month or next or I'm stopping till after the wedding!

AuntieMaggie · 15/07/2013 21:00

Dulcetmoans I guess it depends what your symptoms are or why you think you have PCOS. In my case both my sisters and my mum had it, I had for years had horrendous periods but when initially tested was told I didn't have it. Then I came off the pill for a major op after which I suffered with bad ovulation pains to the point I could barely walk so they did a scan and discovered lots of cysts including one which was 5cm (2cm bigger than my ovary).

Difficulty conceiving is only one symptom but not every woman with PCOS finds it difficult contrary to what most doctors believe.

ChocChaffinch · 15/07/2013 21:04

ooh where's his wedding? cookie? where do you get to go and swank around looking fab?

DulcetMoans · 15/07/2013 21:20

Doesn't sound nice at all auntie. I never went there about PCOS, she just mentioned it whilst I was there but then said they wouldn't test anyway so didn't help much. I lost weight since though so hoping it wasn't related to that. I do read a lot of contrary advice from docs about the baby making area, they don't seem to be consistent!

Would offer you some fudge choc but its not mine to give really and it's less shareable than it was. White choc flavour and some cider flavour I think. I'm not into fudge much...

My take on bookings when TTC is usually to just do it. I would have missed out in so much if I hadn't. I know that's not as easy with holiday though, bit more money committed with that. Can you book something that you can enjoy either way? No where too hot and no where too far away?

cookielove · 15/07/2013 22:19

choc it's california Grin

Just to try and talk you all down from biscuits and fudge I've been very good today. burnt 145 calories ironing and my app tells me I'm 2 calories under my daily goal as a result!

I wasn't going to book the holiday we went on in May but glad I did. I think viroids when it comes to holidays you have to factor in the law of the sod and you're opinion on if it shows!

ZingWidge · 16/07/2013 08:55

good morning viroids!

how is everyone today?

EssieSaysRelax · 16/07/2013 09:09

I've already missed out on a skiing holiday this year because we were so convinced I'd be upduff and not able to go. My bro lives in a ski town in Canada, so DH went without me, and to be fair, they are both amazing skiiers and I am crap so they probably had a better time without me anyway and partied harder too but I was still gutted. So consequently, I'm with lil, book it anyway and if you get upduff/have had baby then you'll cope somehow!

Not good reading about fudge and biccies at this hour, making me hungry already.

ChocChaffinch · 16/07/2013 13:35

have side boob pain about 1.5/10 bad bra or sign? you decide!

fifi669 · 16/07/2013 13:42

According to my app FW starts in 3 days + or - 3 days. So it looks like its time to don the cape again!

I know some are finding dtd rather laborious but for people still in the zone so to speak, are you abstaining every other day around ov to maximise sperm quality? OH would be quite happy to go every day but not if its going to hinder the process.
