Euro ? Very well done to you. I hope the pain has subsided and you are feeling okay. Sounds like you have been though a lot these past few days alone. Take care of yourself.

Critter ? Loving the name change. Had me in fits of laughter.

Rabbit ? I think a bit of alcohol if you fancy it is fine. Doesn?t sound like you are over-doing on it at all and are drinking sensibly. I think being too strict on oneself can be a bad thing. I?m a very light drinker anyway but since I was told no alcohol for the TB treatment I have been craving cocktails. You are so right about getting support about those who are going through the same. You have been a rock on here.

Lemons - How are you feeling? Better I hope. Did you start the meditation? I hope it?s helping.

Sarlat ? How are you feeling? Much better I hope. I am sure the 2nd trimester will be upon you very soon lovely. You are right my friend with the A+ announcement is a lovely person. I am really happy for her. Of course I wish it was me too but one thing has nothing to do with another.
Cosmos ? Sorry you are fed up with it. I do know how that feels ? good days and bad days. It sucks when we have to force our smiles.

Nelly ? Sorry you are feeling like this. It doesn?t get any easier does it? Hugs

Mrsd ? It is hard listening to pregnant ladies complain. I totally feel for you. I do find it amazing some people can plan their pregnancies so precisely. I am envious and slightly in awe of these people. I have met people who control their diet to get the desired gender and have sex at specific times so their kids are born a particular star sign. I thought it was all bs until it actually worked! Amazing!

Madness ? I have heard great things about The Wire. I love TV shows to escape too! Enjoy!

Joy ? Oh Joy where are you? I think you are probably taking a break from thread. I hope you are well and feeling much better. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we miss you on there.

Waves to everyone else ? Sweet, doll, gin?. I am bad at name-checking.

Hope no one is having the Sunday blues like me. xx

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/06/2013 15:28

Tell us about your Sunday blues seaview! That sounds miz.

Sorry to report that today was worse and I've skived off home from work because I could not keep my eyes open. I am pleased I've had my contract renewed recently so I don't ruin the next appraisal... Happy to make you feel better though madness. You have my utmost respect for DR-ing for months on end. I am literally counting down the stabs and considering ringing the clinic to discuss cancelling things, but I think I should chat about that with SB first

Waves and pets at all. Lovely to read you sar. I hope things are going well for you now. And well done and hurrah for the good despite overly fertile wedding rabbit!

eurozammo · 24/06/2013 15:35

sea sorry about the Sunday blues. Is Monday any sunnier for you?

drizz I so feel for you.

madness The Wire is ace, although I fely like I needed subtitles for chunks of it. Last time I went to the US, I flew to DC via Baltimore airport but kept well away from the ghettos!

We had the call from the clinic this morning. Apparently all 4 eggs collected yesterday were mature and two have fertilised. Transfer is tomorrow. I am pretty adament that I only want one back, so we might end up with one on ice if we are lucky.

roomyenoughforacritter · 24/06/2013 16:44

euro - very quick check in after weekend out of internet range - just wanted to say you're amazing for having got through what sounded like an awful lead up and EC. Well done. Fantastic result on the fertilisation and I have everything crossed that you will soon have an 'heir and a spare' on ice. Big hug - you're coping brilliantly, this is not easy to put it mildly.

Poutintrout · 24/06/2013 17:53

*Euro Good news on the fertilised eggs. Sorry that the EC was ouchy & stressful. ET tomorrow. Wow!

lemons sorry that the drugs are making you feel so yuk. I counted down the stabs too and it did help. I think you hit a wall after a few days with the stabbing and then you kind of pick up again when you feel you are on the downwards strait.

rabbits Oh good god at the fertile wedding. Someone went into labour????!!! Just what any barren looks for in a wedding!

sea Hope the Sunday blues have passed. I get those too but reckon it's mainly because the TV is so bloody dire and I have too much time to wallow. Countryfile, Tipping Point and some shite about planes crashing is enough to make anyone feel like sticking their head in the oven.

madness we were loaned the Wire. Maybe we might give it a go. MrP and I love a box set marathon remembers fondly the bank holidays spent watching 24

Well, looks like the FET has gone tits up & will be postponed by yet another month. MrP has to go away again so I can't cycle monitor this month. Ever get the impression that something is just fated? I'm trying to be understanding but really I just want to stamp my feet and have a tantrum and a good cry. I am wondering whether we can convince the hospital to ahead without the monitoring.

Waves to everyone and wondering where joycep is.

eurozammo · 24/06/2013 18:01

Does MrP drive you there, pout? Could anyone else step in?

Thanks critter. Or "roomy" as we should probably call you now... Wink

buzzybee123 · 24/06/2013 19:02

sea I am pretty sure you can't chose the sex of your baby by diet Wink its most likely a coincident at best Wink

lemon only a few days left then you'll start to feel better, I felt in my own world and just couldn't concentrate when I was DRing

rabbit was the bride impressed about being upstaged by a woman going into labour on her big day ?? When is your next appointment??

euro Good luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed for a frostie :)

pout can someone else get you there for the monitoring, how often do you have to go

madness I think you are amazing to keep going with the DRing hands over shiny medal I have a great love for Rugby, I too was pleased to see the Wallabies go down, hoping for the same result with cricket Wink

Kaylas mood has nopt improved, MIL came over yesterday and she was all over with her clearly she remembers that MIL came over to feed her while we swanned off on our hols Hmm

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/06/2013 19:16

How annoying pout! But do you really need him for monitoring?

Traiterous Beast, buzzy. I am sure she will come back to the fold, but cats take some time to forgive!

Stillhopingstillhere · 24/06/2013 19:23

Hello fellow long suffering ones. Does anyone have any advice or experience with s/a?

This is dh's third sperm analysis, they've all been a bit rubbish. The specialist told us that a natural conception was possible but would take longer. We have one child already conceived first month of trying. We've now been trying nine months for the second one.

Today we've had his latest results which are the best they've been but the woman on the phone told us they'd recommend icsi.

These are the results:

Volume: 2.6ml (normal 1.5ml or more)
Number: 36.5 (normal 15 million or more)
Total number 94.9
Motility: 20% forward progressive
6% slow progressive (these together should be 40% I think)
Morphology 4% (normal 4% or more) so borderline.

Does icsi seem a bit extreme? We have to see the specialist next week to discuss the results.

I'm starting to try to accept I will never have enough baby and it makes me very very sad.

eurozammo · 24/06/2013 19:35

On my first IVF cycle the sample was worse than that (13m count, 1.1ml volume I think, although motility and morphology were fine). We were offered ICSI but declined. We got fertilisation and a BFP, although I went on to miscarry. The sperm get dumped on top of the egg in IVF so they don't have a lot of work to do, so my view was that unless there were really no decent swimmers, we'd let natural selection do its thing. I know some clinics are moving to all ICSI though and other people prefer to let the embryologist select the sperm rather than letting nature sort them. It's a personal decision.

buzzybee123 · 24/06/2013 19:38

lemon Kayla is a true little maori kitty with the nose rubbing but she has snubbed me 3 days running Shock

still According to Geeta at Create SA levels changed in Dec 09
Count > 15 million
Motility > 32
Morphology > 4
I wasn't keen at first about ICSI but that is what they used it and it worked, that to me is all that matters but everyone has to be happy with their decision, I wouldn't say its extreme though

Stillhopingstillhere · 24/06/2013 19:50

Thanks for that x x
I suppose it feels extreme because I can't get my head around conceiving first cycle (know we were lucky) to needing high intervention. I feel like there should be something we can try first! Even though there isn't anything...
So it looks like motility is our issue then. I think if we went for ivf we would pr

Stillhopingstillhere · 24/06/2013 19:50

Posted too soon!
Probably opt for icsi. There seems no reason not to.

Poutintrout · 24/06/2013 22:01

still My DH has borderline morphology ishoos though his last SA was greatly improved on the last result. He has been taking supplements and maybe they have helped. We had ICSI for our IVF go and didn't really have a choice. It was left as wait and see what the SA says and then for some reason the ICSI was done anyway. On reflection I wish we hadn't done things that way because I read that ICSI can damage the egg...I think......

Buzz It's 3 scans as I recall for the monitoring.

I do rely on MrP to drive to the hospital...I'm not a princess who doesn't do public transport, there is method to the madness that is too long winded (and might out me) to explain Grin Looks like he is going to try and delay his trip by a day and pray that they will fit us in tomorrow. It's just a ball ache that things have worked out this way. Worrying about the hospital is the last thing I, but mainly he, needs right now. I'm surprised by how worried he is that if we delay again the FET won't happen until September.

buzz Grin at Kayla sulks! Big Dog can sulk for England. When we got Little Dog he sulked under the bed for 3 weeks. His current fave sulking spot is between the couch and CD units. The space is so small that he regularly knocks over the standard lamp on the way in. I got clattered on the head with it last night.

euro how are the ovaries feeling today?

lemons I hadn't thought about the woman going into labour upstaging the bride Shock

buzzybee123 · 24/06/2013 22:25

pout Grin at the lamp, Kayla is sitting in the other room Hmm I don't think she likes Barry being away during the week. I hope Mr P is able to delay his trip, Colin is ready and waiting for you :)

it was me who asked about the bride Wink

euro hope all goes well tomorrow for you :)

seaviewasia · 25/06/2013 08:14

Just a quick one to say good luck Euro for today. I'm thinking of you. Hope it all goes well. I've a good feeling about this one.

Will catch up properly later. x

eurozammo · 25/06/2013 09:36

pout I feel back to normal now, thanks. No pain today.

I'm currently contemplating the timing of my last pee before I start filling my bladder for transfer.

Thanks for all of the good wishes!

GinSoaked · 25/06/2013 10:43

Just popping in quickly to say good luck euro! 4 mature eggs is such a good result from a few days stims. They sent me out of theatre to go and drink more for the last ET, as my bladder wasn't full enough... Seriously thought I was gonna wee on him!

Cosmos1 · 25/06/2013 10:46

Go Euro-lets today - thinking of you, good luck.

ThatWayMadnessLies · 25/06/2013 12:29

Good luck euro. 4 eggs and 2 embryos is a fab result. not so much to be overwhelming but gives you a little bit of wiggle room. fingers crossed for a smooth transfer and the return of a PUPO to the thread Grin

eurozammo · 25/06/2013 15:30

I'm back home. With two crap* embies on board. I'm very disappointed - we had a grade one last time at this stage. These were both grade three. I started off adamant that I only wanted one back but the clinic pushed us strongly towards both so we ended up giving in (which I think speaks volumes about what they think about my chances). Pregnancy is pretty unlikely with either of them. Meh.

*technical embryology term.

gin I was delayed by an hour last ET. Confused I was cross eyed with pain when they were pressing. How I didn't wee a little fountain in the gynae's face I don't know. This time I was only half an hour late and I hadn't started drinking so early, so it was all a bit more bearable. How are you doing?

Cosmos1 · 25/06/2013 15:38

I'm working from home today and looking out for your progress Euro.

I really think now that 'an embryo is an embryo is an embryo' - the rest the doctors really don't know much about why one makes it and another doesn't. I know its hard but just put the gradings out of your mind for now, there's been so many stories of pregnancies after supposedly lower graded embryos, its very early to tell, and they're back in the best place for them. Unfortunately as much as we want to control the outcomes its just not like that - remember Gin's story! Its an Art not a Science! Have everything crossed for you.

Poutintrout · 25/06/2013 16:27

I'm glad that you are home euro and all embied up.
As for the "crap" embryos don't let it make to feel despondent. I agree with cosmos that low graded embryos often make it. Also you are the best incubator right now and they could grow and develop into something wonderful! Not wishing to cast aspersions on mine or any other 10 plussers embryos Grin but we have had great looking blastos on this thread that ought to have achieved a pregnancy and didn't so I reckon the grading is pretty pie in the sky.

I had my scan today (and detoured to the fabric shop and got some bargainous bits to cover some lampshades and make a throw for the armchair) so all good so far. I do have a rotten migraine now though and am contemplating a Maccy D's for dinner Blush
