Trying to Conceive Thread . . . .3!!

Right oh.

I thought the TTC Thread no. 2 was getting a bit depressing and we all need cheering up with extra sprinkles of babydust, so I thought I would start a new thread.

I also have a motive - having looked back at the last 4 ttc threads I have noticed (being the sad person I am) that the thread originators all became pg during the life of the thread.

So . .

Here's me:

24 years old, DD 16 months, ttc since September.

Anyone joining me on this nw, happy thread?

thanks everyone.....
of course they had to tell me and I suppose there never is a good time.
Trying to keep my chin up over here. Big big snowstorm on the way so that should be lots of fun to watch - DD will be thrilled with the snow!

And just bought nearly a year's supply of the equivalent of pregnacare - 300 tablets for less than a tenner! Am well chuffed with my bargin

jellycat · 18/02/2004 20:58

Hello again. hana - hope the rest of your visit isn't too difficult for you and that you get a nice big snowstorm and dd gets to make a snowman or two.

Bunny, sorry you're still feeling so down too - I think Quacks is so right, it doesn't go away until you get pg again, and then you just have a different set of stresses. It's really hard. Thanks for all the stuff about fish oils and seeds. I think maybe the seeds sound preferable to the fishy burps! I tried soya milk a few years ago and have to agree it is pretty revolting. I used to drink it as a milkshake but quickly gave up.

Mum2Ela, wow, you're doing so much. You're right about the double buggy thing - I was also thinking how nice it would be to get ds settled into preschoool by the time a new baby arrived on the scene (hopefully). Always look on the bright side of life!

Hello to everyone else and talk to you all tomorrow.

jellycat · 19/02/2004 09:21

Morning all, where's everyone today?

Well, I won't be joining the October thread because AF arrived last night. . Oh well.

Talk to you all later.

BigBird · 19/02/2004 09:32

jellycat

Bunny - how are u ?

ChaCha - i'm afraid you have to wait till at least 10DPO before you could test. Try not to read too much into 'symptoms' - it'll do your head in!

Off to read the nutrition thread now....

Azure · 19/02/2004 09:46

Oh Jellycat

Azure · 19/02/2004 09:52

Ermentrude, Bunny2 and Crossfingers - any news?

hana · 19/02/2004 14:41

sorry to hear Jellycat

bluestar · 19/02/2004 15:17

Sorry jellycat
Maybe we can join the November thread together.

ChaCha · 19/02/2004 16:50

Oh Big Bird...I am already reading into the symptoms, in fact, have a phantom pregnancy!!. I cant wait another 5 days....I have had really bad cramping today (DPO5) I bet its just pre-menstrual....Grrrrrrr! (of course, told myself this was implantation) What can a girl do??

Mum2Ela · 19/02/2004 16:54

Jellycat

Looking on the positive: if we all get pregnant quite soon at least by the summer after this we all would look lush again in our bikinis

Bekkif - any news?

How do you know exactly how many DPO you are??
If OPK stick says postive CD11 do you start counting from that day, surely not?
I starting counting from CD13 as doc said i ov'd then last month, but do you count that day as DPO or the next day?

Cheers

futurity · 19/02/2004 19:18

Sorry to hear Jelly cat

My friend who is pregnant has given me the rest of her Clearblue OPK sticks which she didn't need to use. There are 5 of them so I am hoping that they are lucky as the other 2 in the pack helped her get pregnant! I start using them next Wednesday so fingers crossed!

bunny2 · 19/02/2004 19:34

Af arrived last night, Jellycat we are def synchrinised! Just think we'll be bding away at different ends of the country at the same time!! I'm relieved really, I had so much spotting I would have written off any pregnancy as already doomed. Back on clomid tonight.

ChaCha, I really hope you are pg but pls dont read too much into early symptoms if you can help it. Try and hold out till 10 days past ov before testing otherwise you may get a false neg. Good luck xx.

Heard yet another friend is pg today and it really p*ssed me off. A creme egg did help a bit but not enough.

How's everyone else?

bunny2 · 19/02/2004 19:34

sorry, synchronised

hana · 19/02/2004 20:11

aww bunny - so sorry to hear that. And hearing about other pregnancies is SOOOOO very very hard, isn't it? My sil was laughing and joking the other day 'Oh I'm so fertile, I only came off the pill in Nov!' and my brother 'I must have good little swimmers' etc etc. I had to endure this with a false smile on my face! I laugh now - what else can I do?!?!

I'm still around to keep you company

And chacha - don't know the answer there - I've never really looked at my cycle in terms of DPO, have never really worked it out. It's so hard not to let it take over but I know what you're feeling. Lots of us do. Chin up, eh?

hana

(and just to let you know the province has declared a state of emergency here!! The snow is still falling, one of the cars is completly buried under the snow and it's still falling. Lovely. Can't wait to go out and play in it tomorrow..... )

ChaCha · 19/02/2004 20:12

Oh please help me!!
I woke up this evening (CD16) and went to the bathroom only to find (sorry to be yucky) blood. A little bit, just like i've started AF. I had cramps all day to the point i left work early to sleep.

Is implantation like this or could AF have arrived 11 days early?

ahhhhhh

jellycat · 19/02/2004 20:22

Thanks for all the messages girls.

Hello bunny, well yes, synchronised disappointment at least! I know what you mean about the relief too, my first pg was a blighted ovum and I spotted on and off until 11 weeks before finally miscarrying. I suggest you join me in having a glass of wine - naughty but nice.

ChaCha, I assume you count the day after you ovulate as 1dpo, and so on. Of course, you may not ov the day your OPK first shows a positive so it could have been CD11 or 12. I suggest you wait until you think your period is late before testing. I know it's hard though.

Mum2Ela - I don't own a bikini so I'll have to look lush in my bra and knickers (non-matching at that). Sorry to let the side down

jellycat · 19/02/2004 20:29

Sorry - message took a long time to type (had to go up to ds and put him back in bed).

hana - sorry but your brother and SIL sound totally insensitive. People can be so horrid . Some friends of ours recently got pg straight away - she is now about 16 weeks and everything is going well. I really wouldn't want anyone else to have problems but I still feel upset by this - it's just so unfair.

ChaCha, it sounds a bit early for implantation to me - that's supposed to be 7-10 days after fertilisation. Could it be a side effect of the tamoxifen? Sorry I can't be more help.

bunny2 · 19/02/2004 20:33

ChaCha, if you are 5 dpo, it is unlikely to be an implantation bleed. Could you be a day or 2 out with your ovulation date? Perhaps you are 6 or 7 dpo, then an implantaton bleed would be more likely. Hope so, fingers crossed for you.

Hana, it sounds lovely over there, I like proper snow, ds would love it. I cant believe how insensitive some people can be. Fancy your sil going on about her fertility, I'd want to smack her!

Jellycat, I've had 2 glasses of wine already. Might have a third, after all if I strike it lucky next month, I'll have to abstain for nearly a year. When did you ov this last month? I was cd16.

jellycat · 19/02/2004 20:35

Hi bunny, I've had about a glass and a half now, hic ! I ov'ed CD15.

bunny2 · 19/02/2004 20:41

Wow, we are so close. Are you well stocked up with pissy sticks for the next cycle?

jellycat · 19/02/2004 20:45

Not yet - I was being optimistic and not investing my £10 for the next box of Persona sticks until I knew for sure. I'll get some on Saturday. It won't ask for a test until Tuesday.

bunny2 · 19/02/2004 20:46

I'm ordering a bumber box of 20 plus 5 pg tests for a bargain price of £18.69. Should keep me going a while.

jellycat · 19/02/2004 20:48

Wow - not bad! Where are you getting them from and do they do Persona sticks (I've a feeling you can only get them in Boots).

jellycat · 19/02/2004 20:51

OK, just Googled and found some for £9.
