Trying to Conceive Thread . . . .3!!

Right oh.

I thought the TTC Thread no. 2 was getting a bit depressing and we all need cheering up with extra sprinkles of babydust, so I thought I would start a new thread.

I also have a motive - having looked back at the last 4 ttc threads I have noticed (being the sad person I am) that the thread originators all became pg during the life of the thread.

So . .

Here's me:

24 years old, DD 16 months, ttc since September.

Anyone joining me on this nw, happy thread?

Sorry there is no news yet Futurity. Bunny2, what a disappointment if you didn't ovulate - I hope you have much better luck next month. BekiF - 124 days !?! I'm sure you've written about it before, but what does your doctor say? Are you still ovulating? I hope you have a lovely weekend - how nice to be taken away. ChaCha, I also think the bum under pillow works - hey, there is no dignity in this ttc / baby business!

ChaCha · 13/02/2004 09:01

Okay, thats great, cheers everyone, will nip down to boots and get me OPK right away. Oh, it all seems so nerve wracking!!

Big Bird, noticed your ovulating after Valentines weekend, me too i think. Monday/Tuesday. Fingers crossed for you. Keep yours crossed for me.

Bunny are you okay?

Quackers · 13/02/2004 09:08

Bunny, I'm just confused here. Did you show him your chart?? If you had a positive OPK and a shift in temp how can he be sure you didn't? Using the 2 methods together is very reliable as the temp shift confirms that the hormones released at ov has made the temp shift. Was it said purely speculatively or is he doing a 21 dat test? Will he up your dose?

BigBird · 13/02/2004 09:35

ChaCha - i'm cd10. Fingers crossed for us both !

Moomin, I keep hearing stories like you say....'we took a break for a month and BINGO' but in all honesty I can't understand how to take a break. I've tried....managed a break from ttc boards is all. I mean when you feel the ov pain or see the CM it HAS to register and be at the back of your mind. I think it's easier said than done. And surely tracking dates etc. (and not being too stressed) can't really impede on you getting pregnant ? There are plenty here who are actively 'trying' when they get that positive...

BigBird · 13/02/2004 09:36

bunny and futurity

PandaBear · 13/02/2004 16:54

Hello all - just wanted to ask, is it true that an itchy breast can be a symptom of early pregnany?

Moomin · 13/02/2004 18:58

Yes BigBird I know what you mean. But I think it takes something BIG like a change of focus in your life to help you "forget" OR taking matters into your own hands with the stress of ttc and dealing with that as a separate issue. I know I won't be able to switch off from ttc but I also know the stress of that and my job is doing me no good at all. That's why I went to see a reflexologist. I'm going to start another thread about what she said to me - she's a nutritionist too - but I know I can't deal with it all myself and need help to de-stress. I think doing something pro-active like this also makes you feel like you're more in control, which is a big issue for me in ttc - the lack of control.

ChaCha · 13/02/2004 19:02

I can't believe that i'm such an idiot!!!
Today is bloody CD11! I thought i was still CD8, isnt that weird? I think i get mixed up with the calendar dates too. What an idiot?
Just bought me OPK's. Wonder if its too late.
Hmmm

ChaCha · 13/02/2004 19:04

Okay, its me again.
I'm going nuts. Thank God your all here.

Okay girls, today is CD11, we are now at 7pm UK time. Last month when doc tested for ovulation, it was CD13. Should i BD tonight and tomorrow and CD13....
I'm becoming obssessed.

hana · 13/02/2004 19:22

cha cha - you certainly wouldn't have anything to lose, but probably every other day should cover it. Sperm can live up to 5 days in fertile conditions, so if you are just about to ov or have ov, the conditions should be right

Pandabear - yes itchy breasts can be a sign of early pregnancy, I've had it with all of mine. They should feel fuller or heavier as well.
Are you? Hope so!

ChaCha · 13/02/2004 19:34

Thanks Hana.
I just did my first OPK stick. One line was fainter than the other so guess i'm still waiting. It day say not to drink for like 2 hours before or test after 8pm. Well it was 7.30pm and i had just had a drink. Maybe not such a good idea but i was desperate to know.
Will try again tomorrow at lunch time - they say not so good in the morning, right?
Sorry for blabbing.

bunny2 · 13/02/2004 19:45

Hi everyone, what a great thread this is!

ChaCha, the clearblue/clearplan OPKs recommend you test first thing in the morning in their instructions. The other brand I had said to avoid testing till after midday. I ended up using two sticks every day to cover all eventualities! I cant wait 2 hours to wee, not with my pelvic floor.

Quacks, I am not sure my consulatant really thought about my quation. As far as I am concerned, a lh surge and temp rise plus all the pelvic pain def suggest ov. Had a dip today, 7 days after ov, who knows if it an implantation dip (first temp below cover line since rise). Ho hum, shall have to wait a week to test.

Happy Valentines Day for tomorrow to all of youxxx What a perfect day for ttcing.

jellycat · 13/02/2004 20:33

Well, bunny, as you say it's just a waiting game now, but your dip sounds hopeful. Are you still bleeding?

Oh futurity, how frustrating for you

ChaCha, good job you realised in time !!!

ChaCha · 13/02/2004 20:58

Hey everyone! This is really a great place to be..its great to be able to share all the TTC malarky with people who understand.
My side is really hurting - think that is a sign of ovulation. I usually avoid BD when i feel like this - isnt that mad? I really WAS NOT clued up.

Happy Valentines Day to you all! Great weekend to TTC - baby dust to you all.

I have guests, am making mental notes not to leave pee stick lying around in bathroom. ha ha!

ChaCha · 13/02/2004 21:01

Big Bird; keep me posted, as well as the OPK's that i will slowly get used to using i have an appt with my ob/gyn on CD20 to see how everything went. Hope the tablets did the job.

Oh well...here's hoping!

baby dust...baby dust....baby dust.......

Quackers · 13/02/2004 21:36

Good lord Bunny, you go from one extreme to the other!!! I think you;re right, you had all the pains, OPK and temp rise, I just don't have a lot of faith in speculative assumptions made by these doctors. I think you know your own body best. So, we have to sit and wait now. This is the tough bit as you're charting you see everything!!! I'm so keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
BTW, ROFL at your pelvic floor, I'm the same!
Cha cha, keep going chuck! Keep bonking!!
Futurity I hope this is sorted for you soon xx

futurity · 14/02/2004 07:36

At last..AF has arrived! I'm actually relieved because it means I can look forward to next month and trying again rather than waiting for it to appear which I knew it would eventually. Good luck to everyone this month. xx

VERY VERY SAD....i have to stop crying, it has been 27 days since my last period and i am a wally i don't keep track of how long they are anyway i have been feeling nausas tired this week and not much of an appetite but also had some stomach cramp and at times binges so in thought on set of the period or the next best thing so this am i took the test and arhhhhhhh negative i sat and cried all morning. Spoke to dh and told him and he said WHY did you take the test prat i thought (amongst other things)so now i am just waiting to come on.I have trying for ages and it is so difficult coz although dh wants a baby he has a low sex drive i have to say i give up i have dd 2yrs and she is beautiful i don't think i can do this anymore i feel so sad today.

And MIL is coming back after being away for 3months.

Slink · 14/02/2004 13:37

do you think i still could be mmmmmmmmmmm

Kay1 · 14/02/2004 16:16

Hi Slink - sorry you've been so sad today. It's so hard isn't it, waiting and wondering whats happening. What i find extra hard is that pg signs are all like pms symptoms too and you can't actually know anything until you get AF or a positive test but the roller coaster of emotions keeps on going!

Please don't be too hard on yourself either. I think it's perfectly normal to be sad/cross/feeling silly etc when you get a negative result - each time it happens it's a loss in itself (because of all the expectations etc) and perfectly ok to cry and cry and cry...I sometimes hide under the duvet too!!

On the other hand, it still doesn't tell you anything really - you may still get a positive - best wishes and good luck

Futurity - so sorry it didn't work out for you this time - good luck for next month xx

ermentrude · 15/02/2004 15:42

Hi again
Re-reading this thread, I have had a similar thing to fisil - period due any time now (usually a 5 week-ish cycle) but last week, I had
wed - spot
thurs - spot

though Af must be coming early -but no sign yet

However, I didn't seem to have any ovulation signs (but am still new to this so may have not noticed them!)

Any words of wisdom?

jellycat · 15/02/2004 15:56

ermentrude, I'd be tempted to do a test! Good luck!

Futurity . Still, as you say it's a relief sometimes to just know, one way or the other, and next month you can start afresh .

Slink - hope you're feeling a bit better today.

ChaCha · 15/02/2004 17:02

Howdy everyone,

Slink, hope your feeling a little better now. Kay1 is so right...it's perfectly normal to be sad when you get a negative result. There have been times when i have spent the whole day sulking and being miserable. Keep smiling, who knows whats around the corner. Your DD will have a sibling soon if its meant to be..sending you heaps of baby dust...CATCH!

Bunny, where are you? How's everything?

ChaCha · 15/02/2004 17:14

I need to share this with you all...hope you've all been following my story, LOL!

I used the OPK for the first time on CD11. Well, i read it wrong (as usual doing things back to front)I put it aside to show DH later in the day as we were both busy entertaining. It was positive, thought it was negative, can you believe? Anyhow, We BD that morning and that night, nothing the next day (we were exhausted entertaining our guests) and BD today and hopefully again tonight.
I did another OPK this morning the lines were both very faint but the same, the test line in first OPK was very much darker than the other.

Does this now prove that i ovulated? Did i BD at the right times, or have i missed my chance? We used the pillow by the way. Was quite funny.

Oh, i'm dying here.....could this be the month?
Give me your thoughts pls girls...am all new to this.
