Me first this time. Smile

It may only be May 4th, but I'm out for this month (although technically AF due 30th May - I just like starting new threads).

Hello everyone,

Stol, snap = af this morning and ds 3.5. Have been trying 2 months, although pretty poor effort and age against me (40 in June). Hopecat, remember you from previous thread. Best of luck to all.

p.s. Does anyone know in which high street shop/chemist you can get the saliva ovulation test?

Sexonlegs · 08/05/2006 18:36

Hopecat I am incredibly naive; what is all this CD business? With dd fell preggers after 2 sh*gs and never looked in to planning it all. Thanks x

mummy2jake · 08/05/2006 18:45

hi sexonlegs cd means cycle day as in what day of your af your on.

laughalot · 08/05/2006 19:30

I just wanted to hop over and wish all of you the very best of luck for this month, iv just had my bfp confirmed over the weekend so good luck everyone.

Hopecat · 08/05/2006 20:54

Congratulations lotta. Are you going to shout it from the rooftops? Or keep it a deep dark secret?

Hi westerngirl: cool name.

I want to change my name, but I'm not going to do it until I get PG. It's a sort of a totem thing.

CD6 today. Going to BD on Friday night, Sunday morning, Tuesday morning and Wedneday night. Spontaneity is definitely not on the cards in our house at the moment.

Sexonlegs · 08/05/2006 21:54

Thank you mummy2jake. I am on CD18 and have spent the last 9 days ön the case! Had a bit of spotting today so no idea what that means.
Good luck to everyone.xxxxx

pussycatmomma · 08/05/2006 22:06

hiya sexonlegs, im on the may thread, just havin a bit of a nose on the june one just in case Wink, spotting is a fab sign, could mean you are reaching your peak fertile time, as pinky/brown discharge is a sign of ovulation in some women. Combined with ewcm, tis a good sign. Good luck!

mummy2jake · 08/05/2006 22:13

hi all on cd6 also had some spotting not sure why going off now as my little boy woke up an hour ago and was sick all over me thought he wasnt going to stop. fingers crossed its our month
hopecat it`s good to be cycle buddies again speak to u soon xx

Sexonlegs · 09/05/2006 08:02

Had a bit more than spotting last night - not a full on af but still disappointing. I am not due my af until the 20th May. I hate being a woman!
xxxx

babydriver · 09/05/2006 12:52

Hi all, just popping in to catch up after the weekend. (no internet at home so I post in my lunchtimes and whenever else I can Grin.)

Sexonlegs, mummy2jake, hope spotting is good sign for you both - maybe ovulation or I've heard about implantation bleeding too. Will keep fingers crossed.

Now on CD14 myself. Thought I was about to ov before the weekend but looks like I'm going to have a funny month as it hasn't happened yet (usually I ov quite early). So lots of 'duty' BD which neither of us have much enjoyed. Think DH is dreading coming to bed at the moment!

take care all xxx

Hopecat · 09/05/2006 15:01

Hello ladies: CD7 today. In a big rush so just dropped in to see if I'd missed anything.

Sexonlegs: more likely to be OV spotting or an implantation bleed at this time of the month, I would have thought.

See you all later! x

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 09/05/2006 19:01

Hi there. I splashed out and bought some ov tests and I am not ovulating according to that. I so hope it is not my af coming early.
How is everyone else doing?
xx

Hopecat · 09/05/2006 23:10

Hi SOL - those OV tests are not actually that reliable. If you've already OVed they won't detect it, and some women have a very short LH surge, so if they don't test at exactly the right time of day (which is impossible to predict) they won't show up positive.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 10/05/2006 08:32

Thanks HC. TBH I think I have already ovulated; I was having soming funny pains which I thought could have been either ov, af pain or implanting, so wanted to rule out ov pain.
xx

decafgirl · 10/05/2006 08:34

Hi Guys, I'm out for May so I'm joining you over here if that's ok! Here goes wishing another 30 days away!

stol · 10/05/2006 10:54

Im only on CD3,Have to agree with you decafegirl - i hate this wait, i am new at TTC so by reading you post it it better to BD every other day rather then every day around OV time??

TidyJane · 10/05/2006 13:04

Hi girls. Af arrived today so unfortunately that's me sacked from the May thread.
May was my first month of trying (well April sorry) and actually I got so obsessed by it that it did my head in.
Here's the plan for this month: From end of period, will bd every other day until end and see what happens. It sounds drastic I know but at the end of the day I can't be a...d to try and spot when OV, as my cycles can be irregular (although normally between 31 to 34 days), so I'm gonna relax, not ask myself any questions and concentrate on something else. After all that's how dd was conceived.
Stol that's right, I heard that there was no much point in doing it every day as sperms can survive up to 48h (is that correct?).
Good luck to you all this month!! May we have lots of ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Smile

Hopecat · 10/05/2006 13:21

Also, if your partner has a low sperm count (as mine does) the sperm need a chance to build up again. If we do it every day, he claims he can feel them weakening! Bless.

I'm on CD8, and I've been having little OV-type niggles since CD15 of my last cycle. I've had a full-on AF (which has now stopped), but the uteral niggles are still there. They're not painful, just...there.

Anyone else experienced this? More to the point, does anyone know what might be causing them?

Now I've asked you guys, I'm going off to Google it...

OP posts:
TidyJane · 10/05/2006 13:28

What do you mean exactly? Like a dull pain in your ovaries? Because I think I get that as well.
Is it better after you've passed water? Tell me if you found anything on Google as I'd like to know as well Smile

Hopecat · 10/05/2006 14:01

Hi TidyJane, yes - exactly like a dull pain in your ovaries.

The only articles I could find were scary things about endemetriosis and ectopic pregnancies, but I don't think it's either of those, as it's not actually painful, just very slightly crampy and pully.

That's the main reason I thought I was PG last month. It happened to me in April, but only started on about CD20, and I'm pretty sure I had a chemical PG that month.

This time I felt myself OV, and it hasn't stopped since then. That's 36 days.

AF came on CD29, and was reasonably heavy (as normal) with cramps in the first couple of days, but when it finished I noticed the cramps were still there.

I suppose I'll just ignore them unless they get stronger.

OP posts:
TidyJane · 10/05/2006 14:24

Oh I see. Because when I came off the pill in April mine started at about CD15 so I just wondered if that was OV pains. However I've read on the internet that OV pains are like a sharp pain only on one side of the ovaries and that they shouldn't last for more than a few hours, only the pains in question lasted me from about CD15 til about CD19 and on both sides (although more on one side than the other). I'm wondering if it's something else.
It's not the first time I've noticed this either, everytime I come off the pill it seems to happen every month for about 4 to 5 days.
Do you think you've got the same? Like you say they are not excruciating but still there and sometimes dragging more than other times. Yeah?

Hopecat · 10/05/2006 14:30

The same.

My Mum got them continuously through the first trimester of both her PGs.

Don't think she got a full-on AF though!

OP posts:
decafgirl · 10/05/2006 15:34

I get the same thing. I record them as general abdom pains and last cycle I had them pretty much every day from ov onwards. I think I probably just noticed them more tho because I was so focused on finding any sign of pg that I could - another reason I really shouldn't get so worked up about the whole ttc thing but I can't help it!

Hopecat · 10/05/2006 15:43

Know what you mean DCG. Think most of us on these threads are like that.

It's supposed to be exciting, and I read all these posts from people who already have kids who say 'I shouldn't have got so worked up while TTCing - of course I was going to get PG', but, actually, not everyone does, and some of us find out from our GPs that the odds are stacked against us.

In a situation like that, when it's something you really want, who can relax?

If I could see into the future, maybe then I'd chill out a bit. As it is, we just have to try and get on with RL, don't we?

6 years ago I was worried I'd never fall in love again. Perhaps I should try and enjoy the present a bit more...

OP posts:
babydriver · 10/05/2006 16:43

sorry no ideas to offer on your pains hopecat - hope google has something.

Totally know what you and others mean about getting paranoid about every little sign whilst at the same time getting paranoid that you're getting too stressed, not relaxing etc etc... Personally, I've found charting/recording what's going on helpful in getting a bit of control but it's impossible to switch off the old brain/emotions.

Having spent the last year ttc and therefore putting other things on hold (eg not buying nice new clothes because I kept hoping I'd be buying maternity clothes soon, thinking twice about long term things at work because hoping I wouldn't be there to see them through) I'm now trying to just get on with my life but finding it hard...
