Here's our shiney new thread. The one where I finally get upduffed with everyone else! Smile

Scan good! All well, heartbeat detected, measurements as they should be. Dp got very emotional, I went into stunned mode and couldn't properly take it in for at least an hour (we wandered around John Lewis baby department - not that we can afford anything new - finally allowing ourselves to think this is really happening).

Got home exhausted but felt urge to post before finally crashing. Thanks Thanks Thank you for all the positive thoughts & love to everyone xxx

isadorable · 26/06/2013 22:17

Congratulations - how wonderful isa! Welcome kaglets - and best of luck.

fatfloosie · 26/06/2013 22:18

Wow congrats isabeller! What a lovely post to find when I dip back in for the first time in ages. Fantastic news

fatfloosie · 26/06/2013 22:34

Oh no greenlizard. So sorry. Absolutely gutted for you. Wish I could give you all these Flowers Wine Brew for real

jass43 · 26/06/2013 22:38

Isabeller, see, now it is for seaside walks and feeling confident belly-growing expectant youn mother!

Kaglets, for the future get a hpt test and do it as soon as you think it is 11-12 days post ovulation, so you would catch whether it is chemical pregnancies or no pregnancies. if you chose to get medical help conceiving it is necessary to know the difference. In your case you would probably need to seek private treatment, so it is best to know where you stand. Of course, that is too early to consider that, but if in 6 months time you got no pregnancy even if trying at the right times, you might come around to the thought of going to doctors about this ttc.

fatfloosie · 26/06/2013 22:39

Ooh two more BFPs. Congratulations littlepinkfizz and morien. Fingers crossed for sticky ones!

Irishmammybread · 26/06/2013 23:05

That's great news Isabeller ,very reassuring to see a little heartbeat, hopefully you can relax a little now!

Welcome Kaglets!

CaliBee, Finian sounds like a very Irish name, he'll fit right in with the natives! Greyhounds are lovely gentle dogs as a breed.
Dogs are a big commitment but you do get a lot of pleasure from their company too and it's lovely for children growing up with a dog.
I hope you can enjoy your career break and the right job turns up when you want it!

How are you doing Fatfloosie ?

I've just been giving DS a master class in ironing. He's managed to escape having to do much of it so far by bringing laundry home to me from University at weekends ,but starts an internship next week for a year and it's the other end of the country so he had to learn to iron shirts properly! He's only going to have 5 weeks holiday a year like a proper grown up so it'll be a shock to the system after long student holidays! We'll all miss him. I suppose though ,that while you don't want your children to grow up too fast,it is lovely having a more adult relationship with them as they get older too.If DS wasn't related to me he's someone I'd want as a friend.

Hi to Jass , gum and everyone else !

hopefulgum · 27/06/2013 00:11

Good morning ladies.
Sorry to disappoint Morien, but it has been so busy I just didn't have time yesterday. Also, I really have nothing much new to say.

ThanksIsabellerThanksI am so pleased to hear your news. Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. It will be full of anxious moments, you've had a rough journey to get her, but do try to enjoy it. It is such a special time.

kaglets, you really need to help put your mind at rest by doing a test I think. It's the only way to know one way or another. I do understand about getting your hopes up. I have done it month after month, and your symptoms are so convincing too. As Jass said, after 11-12 dpo, most women would get an indication, even if it is a very light positive. Not all women, mind you, as some have late implanters. It is clear that both you and DP would like a baby, so if this time isn't it, you can be proactive about making it happen.

As for me, I am going to come up to pre-ovulation week. I am not going to be peeing on any opk's (they are all gone),but if the mood takes us, we will be doing the deed. So who knows? However, I am so shattered at the end of every busy day, it is unlikely that I will initiate anything....we shall see if the baby-lust gets me Grin It is usually a strong driving force.

I must dash. I have got to get DS dressed for school. I have acupuncture and yoga tonight. I should be rather blissed out....Smile

notsoold · 27/06/2013 09:06

Isabeller...wonderful, wonderful news!!! Really happy for you!!!

Kaglets welcome and get testing! :)

Calibee...Finian is a great name!!!

Hello everybody!

CaliBee · 27/06/2013 13:05

Oh isabeller....thats brilliant news.

Af arrived for me.....so i'm out for sure for a few months. Damm my ageing body.
I have reached a stone weight loss though...feeling better already.

jass43 · 27/06/2013 13:39

I am really lost this month as for oV time. I got positive at CD 8 and then CD 15. I test when I have EWCM, and was sure I must be wrong when it restarted on CD14, but was not - a normal positive OV test twice in one cycle....I tend to think it is more likely an anovulatory one than a double whammy. Am off all my drugs anyway after mc, chem and WTF cycle, to let my body rediscover itself slightly. Am also thinking that since progesterone support in luteal phase advances OV considerably compared to nonmedicated cycles, it might mean an egg being released before it is mature. So am trying without progesterone for a few months now.

amazingmumof6 · 27/06/2013 14:03

just want to say good luck to all of you, sending fertility vibes! Thanks

JuicySausage · 27/06/2013 15:03

Hello everyone. I used to post as GoldenGirl and I'm here to tell you about my amazing news and to encourage anyone who is in two minds about donor egg IVF. I flew to the Czech Republic a couple of weeks ago and had two AA hatching blastocycts transferred after they were monitored for five days using embryo monitoring. Yesterday I got my BFP Smile

I've spent 14 months ttc after last years's ERPC (I had fallen pregnant easily after two months of trying but mmc at eleven weeks) but never had a sniff of pregnancy. A lap & dye in February revealed a blocked tube and some endometriosis behind one ovary. I seriously believe the tube and the endo were cause by displaced tissue after the ERPC. I've done lots of research around this and spoken to many miscarriage sufferers who are also infertile after this operation.

Anyway, I wasn't prepared to chuck money at IVF using my own eggs (CARE Manchester gave me an 11% chance of success; ReproGenesis have a 62% success rate for over-40s) so I went to the Czech Republic, where donors are anonymous and the whole thing cost £5k (including embryo monitoring, which is only available at CARE Manchester in the UK).

I'm sorry if I've upset anyone re my thoughts on ERPC and subfertility but it is shocking what women are finding out during investigations after these operations. I would urge you to think about DE IVF if you are struggling after miscarriage or over 42. Only one-in-ten eggs at this age are euploid (viable) and we all know the heartache of miscarriage. Our donor was 24 with proven fertility and an Economics graduate; I am so grateful to her and to my whole experience at ReproGenesis. They were a beautiful team of people and I couldn't be happier. I'm going to be a mum at last! Grin

Much luck to everyone and I wish you all the best. Please feel free to PM me with any questions, no matter how daft they may sound.

x

JuicySausage · 27/06/2013 15:19

*Sorry, I should clarify that the 62% success rate at ReproGenesis for the over-40s is when using donor eggs.

jass43 · 27/06/2013 20:09

Juicy, good to hear it worked well for you. And also good to hear Eastern Europe can help out people with difficulties. I heard of a couple a few weeks ago who went through 4 ivf cycles in Estonia, two of them successful, and finally decided this is the right place to bring their children up, too. So, they remained in Tallinn.

hopefulgum · 28/06/2013 00:06

Big Congratulations to JuicySausage. That's really lovely news.I hope all goes well for you.

Calibee, I am sorry to hear that AF is here. ((hugs)) It is wonderful that you have lost a stone though, something to celebrate I think. It is much harder to lose weight as we get older. Spend these months waiting preparing your body to be the best it can be - perfect for a pregnancy.

Jass, sorry to hear that you think you missed O. I think it is a good idea to get your body back to "normal" if you can, after the WTF cycle etc. I had no idea that the progesterone could bring ovulation forward. Why is that?

I've slept in a bit this morning, so I must dash. Always so much to do. I had to bake a cake for a morning tea at work, best check it isn't burning. Being so bloody organised I decided to bake a cake whilst cooking dinner last night, to save time, blah, blah, blah, and promptly forgot all about it and burnt itAngry So now I've had to get up and do another one....Don't want to burn this one too.

I thought we might have SWI last night after a great acupuncture session to get my ovaries pumping, but alas, had to go to bed early as I was nodding off on the couch while DH wanted to finish watching "The Avengers" (the movie), which frankly was a bit shit. Lots of eye candy to admire (especially Chris Hemsworth, our very own gorgeous Aussie actor, and he has two gorgeous brothers!), but there was so much mindless action, I nodded off!

Tonight I am off to the Ballet with DD (Swan Lake), she will love it. Dh is going to a boozy pizza night with his work colleagues, so no SWI tonight either I fear. Looks like I might have to try tomorrow morning (if the mood takes me...Wink) Of course it is not imperative as we all know I am not ttc. Grin

kaglets, any news???

Irishmammybread · 28/06/2013 00:31

CaliBee sorry about AF but well done with the weight loss, wow, there'll soon be nothing of you!
First AF after my miscarriage came for me this week ,it's bittersweet, obviously a sad reminder that another baby is gone before it even really had a chance to get started but it's a relief in a way that my body is getting back to normal( even if I'm not ttc either ,gum .I have to keep telling myself this, it's very hard to let go!)
Jass it isn't called the WTF cycle for nothing is it?! How frustrating to have uncertainty about ovulation. Do you ever chart your temperature to monitor ovulation too?
gum hope you enjoy the ballet with your DD, how old is she? Does she dance herself ? It must be nice to have one to one time with her, I think they really appreciate that sometimes.
What sort of cake are you making?
I've been baking this evening too, a big chocolate cake for DS to take to the house he's sharing with some of his Uni mates, he's moving tomorrow and starting his internship next week.I've made some "irish mammy bread" for him to take too of course! I've also made three dozen triple chocolate muffins for a Summer fair at DD2's school tomorrow, though I think the number might decrease before they actually get there!
Hi amazingmum ,nice of you to pop in.
Congratulations Juicy
How are you doing green? I've been thinking about you.
Hi to everyone else.

jass43 · 28/06/2013 08:49

No, I have never took temperatures. Have had no need, to be honest. I get pregnant if I do OV tests and SWI every other day when it starts moving towards positive until one day after it went back to weaker line. All together 3-4 compulsory shags per cycle. Relatively easy regime that normally works. But WTF is a special case, of course. Technically, I did it miss OV if there was one, but I think maybe there was not. Temping would help, but too late to start now to have data for this cycle. Anyway, I treat it as one off and will hope next cycle is clearer.
Progesterone has this effect of prolonging Luteal phase, by pushing OV into earlier days in the cycle. It may be good thing - estrogens in th first part of the cycle tend to overrule proge in the LF for elder women. So, progesterone supplements help to combat that and OV arrives earlier. But I think since I managed to OV and fall preg even without progesterone support, and mc pattern did not change with this support, I might be better off not messing with my body. It might well know what it is doing.

kaglets66 · 28/06/2013 09:32

Morning Ladies, thanks for all the advice, and took a test BFN, think AF arrived a little early, lighter than normal, and shorter, but still got fooled by my body. Still funny tastes and cramps but trying to ignore them now, they will go away soon no doubt.

mozzarellamummy that's exactly how I was feeling this time, I really thought with the strange symptoms etc I got lucky, but ahh well, Just gonna keep trying. :)

Isabeller Congratulations and hope all goes well.

Thanks Isadorable, Irishmammybread, and notsoold for the welcome.

Jass43 I am really going to take on board what you have suggested, and do that in future. I really need to get in tune with my body and the whole tryng to conceive business including paying more attention now to ovulation times, dates, tests etc.

hopefulgum You are right, I took a test as you suggested this morning, but negative, am going to chat with DP and see where we go from here. We both got a bit upset that we pinned our hopes on a positive result, and its made us aware that perhaps we should start the ball rolling and we were more anxious for a baby than we first thought. DP was crying last night and it shocked me as he was the one who suggested we waited till next year, but we need to chat tonight and see if we start trying for a baby now that the last week or so made such an impact on the way we reacted to an impending pregnancy.

So although not great news this time, I think it has cleared something up about how me and DP feel about ttc and how it might be in our best interests not to wait as initially planned.

Morien · 28/06/2013 09:41

Lovely news Isabeller - congratulations!

jass thanks for your encouraging words.

calibee sorry about AF...but you've lost a stone - that's brilliant! Have you got a target?

green you ok? I've been thinking of you too.

juicy congratulations on your BFP!

kaglets - any news????

irish yes, that bittersweet first AF after MC, I remember. In the end for me I think it was the relief that my body was sorting itself out that won the day. Anyway, what's your DS doing his internship in?

Hello to everyone else.

As for me, progressing quite nicely, I think, by which I mean that I have far more symptoms than I did last year, which I'm taking as a good sign. I'm not counting my chickens, obviously, but last year the pg never felt like it was part of me - it was like an alien being that latched on to me and sucked my energy - whereas this time it really does feel like my body, my pregnancy. It feels like time's moving in slow motion though - I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow.

Morien · 28/06/2013 09:42

X-post kaglets. Sorry AF has got you.

mozzarellamummy · 28/06/2013 10:45

Amazing thanks for the vibes.. I really would like to catch them!
Juicysausage I thought about egg donation if nothing happens in the coming months/year.. but a first discussion with my dp was quite upsetting as he doesn't agree.. did you have such problems?
Cali.. If I lost a stone I would reach my ideal body-weight, but I'm not really in the mood for strict diets now.. I wish I had your tenacy!
Morien it's good to hear about your good feelings about this pregnancy, keep on trusting them!!
I'm off to the dr to see if she is willing to let me have some fertility tests to know a little more about my situation ..
Irish,Gum I'm terrible at baking and cooking... and so envious!!
however I'm good at tasting..Grin
