Hello everyone, have been reading your news even if I haven't posted for a few days. Thanks for the new thread gum.

Diege, notsoold, remnant, sparkly, Isabeller thinking of you all.

gum, lizard, drwho sorry about AF...

Hello to the new ladies!

Still no AF here, 8 weeks now. Got another appointment with the gynae next week. Saw my osteopath yesterday (follow-up appointment after my back ache a month ago). I told her I still hadn't had my period but I wasn't pregnant, and she said she was really surprised as she'd been sure I was pg last time - when I asked for details she said she just felt it somehow. I don't know that I believe that's possible, but even though she agreed that she must have got it wrong, it's left me a bit Confused and I'm back to thinking I might be pg. It's weeks since I tested... But FFS I had an intra-vaginal scan last week, I know I'm not pregnant!

Heeeelllloooo!
Posting from hospital with good news. The scan showed growths of sac and a fetal pole with a normal heartbeat. Dated as 6 weeks instead of almost 8 but told not to worry.
So I will try to do just that!!!
Thank you for holding my hand, listening when I needed so badly...
MD at epu told me to phone the midwife...:)

Hello!!! Sorry for going awol. I've been struggling full stop to do anything at all this week, and the commute and teaching etc has done me in!
Was great to read your news notsoold, really, really pleased for you Smile
I've not really had a chance to catch up, save the last few posts, but wanted to say I'm thinking of everyone and crossing my fingers for some more bfps.Sickness pretty bad here, and have also had some spotting which threw me a bit (well, pinkish discharge). It's stopped now and not overly concerned as hormone levels obviously high, but will possibly get a referral for a scan just to get the ball rolling and to check all is well. Feel a bit odd contacting the mw just yet!

Great news, notsoold! Fingers crossed it will continue to be a smooth ride.

CBFM experts needed! I'm not sure what has been happening with my monitor, but it has been giving me 'high' readings now every day from CD10 to CD19 (i.e. today) Hmm Is that normal?! No peak at any time. It's the first time I'm using it, so could it possibly be that it's trying to 'suss me out'?
I'm rather confused, and not too impressed with it so far, tbh... Am I doing anything wrong? Not sure there's much scope for that, when all I have to do is poas...

Oh notsoold I'm SOOOOO happy to hear your news! That's fantastic! Congratulations honey xx

Did a home FSH check this morning (as I'm on CD3)...it came out negative, although there was a ghost of a line, but according to the leaflet that means it's negative, which is a good result apparently. So my FSH levels are normal. Which is good, yes?

So here I am trying to be upbeat about yet another cycle, and steeling myself for yet another 2ww....phooey, it get's a bit much!

jbrd to be honest the cbfm's seem to have a complete mind of their own. Mine just became a greedy stick muncher. I have a new and unopened box of sticks but decided to stick with the smiley face ones. Do you do back up opk's along side your monitor? Its possible it has just missed your surge...or possible you havent had it yet.
Hey drwhofan i did 2 sets of those home menopause sticks last year.both sets were starkly negative which as you say is good news. However at the same time my blood fsh returned at 20.5.....hmmmm. i have wondered eversince about that.

Its so frustrating drwho... i'm the same. Apart from lengthy cycles last year following mini pill and mirena coil usage i have no symptoms atall. I also get a single days temp dip between those days too. I have read about the obvious implantation dip but i also know there is an oestrogen dip too which is where the

corpus luteum takes over progesterone production ...hence the sore boobs headaches/nausea that some of us get pre mentrually. Some months ae worse than others for me symptom wise. I guess it fools us into thinking/ hoping for thst bfp.

CaliBee Yes, I use OPKs and I chart, too, it's like a complete geek fest here in the mornings - the alarm goes off, and I am immediately busy taking all the various readings and entering them into FF Grin. Thankfully, DH is a very good sleeper.
And it's only the CBFM that's not conforming - I have a beautiful temp chart this month, which is perfectly backed up by the OPK and cm results, so at least I didn't miss OV day. But I would have, had I just used the CBFM. I'll keep trying it, but if I can't get more than lukewarm with it, I'm going to sell it again. Hmph.

calendargal How far along are you now? Have you spoken to your midwife about the spotting? Hopefully, it'll calm down again soon! Fingers crossed it was just a one off and that you can relax again. Easier said than done, I know...

I'm in full-blown 2ww mode, 5DPO here. Temp started to dip a tiny little bit after 2DPO, but shot up again substantially today. Plus, I'm really really cramp-y... Symptom-spotting, moi?!? Grin

calendergal and diege lovely to hear from you...I hope the spotting sorts itself out for both of you. Fingers crossed

jbrd have to say I feel that my cbfm was a bit of a waste of money. I get just as much satisfaction with my smiley faced sticks. If I could be bothered with ebay I would sell it now.

I have just returned from a very interesting trip to see my GP. She was so lovely. Before i even sat down she had a genuine sympathetic look on her face. So nice that she had read my notes before I got in her room. She shocked me by spending time asking how I really was and how was work....she even tried to persuade me to take some time away from work (lots of awful stressful things going on there, but thats another story) which I have refused to do for now. However she was shocked that the fertility clinic had never done tests on my blood sugar and thyroid levels. She said she would have expected that to be standard procedure in a woman of my age with sudden irregular cycles...hey ho, will duly fast and toddle along to be bled tomorrow.
We also had a chat about FSH levels. Now I had been led to believe that day 3 tests were gospel, and that my score last year of 20.5 on day 3 was as poo as it could get. Following mine and drwhofans convo earlier I mentioned that the home fsh tests I took were negative for high FSH. Apparently (she tells me)in our 40's we would expect to see raised fsh levels on day 3...it means our bodies are working in harmony with our depleted egg reserve and producing more fsh in an attempt to mature a good egg. The indicators of early menopause occur when blood taken later in the cycle shows the fsh to still be elevated. So she said that whilst mine was higher than normal on cd3 (although that could also be due to my wonky cycles and my body trying to adjust post mini pill) the fact that my fsh was 4.7 on cd18 of the next cycle makes her think I'm just normal. How relieved was I to hear that?? She also said that given the news that I had conceived first time on clomid she thinks I have a very good chance of a succesful pregnancy. I love that GP ....she has lightened my mood for now. Grin

Have we all been to the GP today?!? I've also had an appointment, which went a lot better than I expected.
The (female) GP agreed to get more blood tests done for me to look for anything out of the ordinary regarding clotting or associated factors - she was very sympathetic (and apologetic, after I waited for an hour, sang every single nursery rhyme I know, did all the silly moves and finally had to resort to food bribery and some silly phone apps to keep DS entertained) and put up no resistance whatsoever when I asked for the thrombophelia test! Unheard of in my surgery, normally you have to jump through hoops before they do any tests on you.
So I'm quite happy with that - but I did forget to ask about the baby aspirin thing, grrrrr... Stupid brain. Ah well, she said to call her when the test results are in, maybe I'll get a chance then.

Notsoold that is BRILLIANT news! Yay! I am so thrilled for you and Mr Notsoold. You must be so relieved.

jbrd last cycle was the first cycle I used my CBFM and I started testing at CD6 and it asked me for sticks every day until I had finished a whole box of 20 sticks. I got a high from the first stick until stick number 20 where I got a low!

According to our friend google, it is quite common to get just highs during the first month whilst the machine ?baselines? your hormone levels (or some such thing). Not convinced but have another box of sticks so will be giving it another go this cycle. I will also be using OPK?s ? this month I had very strong results from OPK?s so am not sure why the CBFM couldn't pick up what an OPK can.

diege sorry you?re feeling a bit rough. When will your sickness get better? Both my sisters really struggled all the way until about 20 weeks and then overnight it was gone ? my younger sister (who had her first at 41) then started panicking that she wasn?t being sick anymore Grin. She also had lots of spotting during her early pregnancy and her DS was a robust 10lbs when born. Fingers crossed for both you and calendergal and hope you get to relax a little soon. The whole journey is quite stressful all round isn?t it? Hmm

drwhofan I hope your anxiety improves (or you feel ready to get some support for it) it must be quite a struggle for you. How are feeling today?

On CD3 today and feeling so much better now the horrible first two days are over but feel a bit worn out so off to bed nice and early as DP is away and I get to hog the whole bed and duvet to myself.....

Hi everyone.
notsoold, I am really pleased to hear the scan went well. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on in.

Deige and Calendargirl, sorry to hear about the spotting, but it seems so common in early pregnancy, I'm sure all will be well. Sorry the sickness is so awful Deige, but it does mean the hormone levels are high, which is great for you.

Jbrd, glad to hear you have ovulated and you are back in the running. Hopefully you'll get two pink lines at the end of this cycle. As for the CBFM, I think it is probably just trying to suss out your cycle for the first time. I think if it does the same thing next month, and you know you have ovulated, don't keep feeding it sticks - it is just too expensive. Last month, even after a peak, twice, the damn thing kept asking for sticks 9 I heard it asks for them in multiples of 10 - either 10 or 20 per cycle - a marketing ploy perhaps?), so I just turned it off til yesterday. I only have about 8 sticks in the pack left so I hope that will do me this month. I'm loath to order more, I can't buy them in Australia, so I have to order them from the UK, and it is expensive getting them sent over. I've got everything crossed that I won't need it again after this month. Wouldn't that be nice?

Isabeller - any news about your scan? I think it is awful that you have to wait. Hopefully you'll have news soon.

I watched "The Midwives" again last night. I do love that series. I cry every time one of them gives birth. I just so,so,so want to hold my own newborn again.

I must dash. I've been single parenting for the last few days while my DH has taken a group of year 12's to the big city for a geography camp (they are studying cities as well as landforms). I must say, although he doesn't appear to do very much when he's here, I am shattered after doing it all solo. Lots of taxiing my older two girls about, as well as doing everything else and working. At least he shares the taxi duty when he's here. I am glad he'll be home this evening, though I know he'll be knackered.

I think I may order Chinese Takeaway for dinner tonight. I know I won't feel like cookingGrin

Still a bit of pinkish spotting here - so far just on wiping, it seems. Jbrd, I am 49 days / 7 weeks today. My second pregnancy ended at 48 days and the end started like this, so that's why I'm not holding out much hope. gum, I know spotting does happen in successful pregnancies, but it didn't happen in my one successful one, and it did in my two unsuccessful ones... I suspect I have a problem carrying (never any problem conceiving, so far) although obviously that's a hunch. It's just a waiting game though. I haven't booked in with a mw - I don't think they give you an appt until 8 wks (at least that's my experience). I'm not actually registered with a GP atm Confused so not sure what to do. I suppose I'll just wait it out.

Hope everyone else is OK - thoughts esp with remnant, sparkly, isabeller
