Calibee, wow, I can't believe it is only 4 days til the wedding. Super exciting!

Isabeller, I am not surprised that you are having trouble concentrating -I am so happy for you. Grin

What is your assignment for? What are you studying?

Well, I am very glad I went to the dentist as he did an xray and I definitely have an infection in the root of my root canal tooth. The good news is that he thinks the antibiotics he prescribed will do the trick, but if not, it will easily be fixed. He's pretty sure that the penicillin will do the trick. I felt a bit woozey and sick at work after I'd been to the dentist, probably due to the infection, so I came home and spent a couple of hours on the couch. I feel okay now, the gum is still sore, but I reckon a few more doses of anti-biotics will sort it. I also bought some probiotics, as I would like to avoid thrush or an upset tummy, particularly with ovulation coming up next weekWink.

I have an appointment with my Gp in a couple of days, I will ask her about clomid again, but I think she was pretty clear about it last time, maybe I should hit her with the big guns and ask for Femera. I don't even know if she'd know what I was talking about Hmm We shall see. I'm going to google Femera now...

Thank you hopeful (and hope your gum is soon in the pink of health Wink) I thought I'd take a break from hard pure maths in last few years and do more practical number stuff (ie basic personal finance) but I am not at all good at writing essays!

Time to go and visit DMum. If small being is still on board in a few months I'll tell her but really can't yet so it will be an interesting afternoon. xx

diege · 29/05/2013 06:36

Just a quickie as off on mini hols for 4 days. Have a wonderful wedding day calibee and look forward to hearing all about it.
Love to all xxx

CaliBee · 29/05/2013 07:47

diege thankyou ....have a lovely break.
Af turned up as expected yesterday...ughhh. but at least i have half a chance of it been over for Saturday. Last day at work for me....wheeeee.
This will be my last cycle of ttc for a while :(. Dp starts in his new post in 2 weeks and until house is sorted i will stay here. Fingers crossed its a short wait.

Isabeller · 29/05/2013 12:01

Happy holiday diege and hope AF is all done soon Callibee fingers crossed for your wedding cycle xx

greenlizard · 29/05/2013 19:19

Evening

Calibee Wishing you and your lovely fiancée a fabulous wedding day! I can?t believe it has come round so quickly - I think it is so exciting and romantic that you have found each other and are setting off on a new life together FlowersFlowersFlowers

Hopeful Ouchy ouch to your gum infection Sad ? sincerely hope that the antibiotics do the trick ? root canal work is no fun at all. Sounds like you got it seen to pretty quick sharp so that should help. Fingers crossed. Good luck at your GP appointment ? hope he/she is supportive. When I went to the FC appointment the consultant said that he wouldn't recommend clomid as I was ovulating regularly as it wouldn't add but then he was the one who said my right ovary was small and inactive when the sonographer said it looked perfectly normal Confused. What does femera do? I have never heard of it before but hope she will consider it for you.

Isabeller you poor soul having to concentrate at the same time as your news Shock you must have a level of discipline I could only aspire to! Good for you for cracking on with it. How are you feeling?

Ha Diege my appointment at the FMC for bloods is on the 6th (the day before my 44th birthday Shock). How funny that we will nearly bump into each other in RL Smile. Are you going for some tests or scan? Hope you have a good 4 day holiday break.

Today I had my follow up appointment and am happy to say that it appears from the scan that the haemtoma has bled itself out (sorry if tmi) - they can?t see it any more and my endometrium lining looks smooth and even. The Dr said it might have been from implantation and just chose to drain out when it started to irritate the lining. The source of all our anxiety was having a bit of a wriggle about and looks good in terms of growth/position/heartbeat ? so very happy and managed to keep it together this time though I noticed she had tissues on standby this time Grin. Another plus is that pelvic rest is no longer required. DP was extremely pleased with that bit of news but manfully tried not to show it too much Grin.

I was looking in my cupboard today and I have a bag of IC ovulation tests that I would be happy to post to anyone who would like them?

I still read your posts every day and am rooting for you all.

xx

Juhannus · 29/05/2013 23:28

Love the thread title and it's fabulous to feel i'm not alone :D

I'm new and I'm driving myself nuts. Its my 5th month of trying to conceive. I'm 42 and my DH is 22. I know it's a crazy age gap but we don't notice :) We both really want a child. I've wanted one for years just not had the opportunity. I also have bipolar which has disrupted my life plans and confidence.

CaliBee · 30/05/2013 08:04

Welcome juhannus ....nothing wring with an age gap. I'm 43 and df ( very soon to be dh) is 23. Good luck

isadorable · 30/05/2013 12:17

welcome Juannus - there's 17 years between me and dp and it works for us too!

Calibee - good luck for saturday - I hope you have a wonderful day.

Green - delighted all's going so well thus far.

AFM - this weekend is almost certainly ov. Not using opks etc but perhaps I should? Things have been trying to say the least recently but i dont want to miss this chance...

isadorable · 30/05/2013 12:20

Oh and congratulations Isabeller - how exciting! I wonder how Tina got on...

Juhannus · 30/05/2013 19:27

Thanks Calibee and Isadorable for the lovely welcome :D

I used to think 4 years was an age gap lol It's amazing how little it matters

Juhannus · 30/05/2013 19:34

Calibee I think I've made a little mistake. I thought dh meant dear half :) which he is but we're not married yet we are engaged too

Juhannus · 30/05/2013 19:47

Calibee congratulations on your wedding so exciting xxxx

I hadn't read every single post so just noticed x

littlepinkfizz · 31/05/2013 08:49

So relieved for you green

Hope the mouth is clearing up nicely gum

So exciting for tomorrow calibee! Are you nervous yet? I'm sure you will look fabulous and have a wonderful day x

Welcome juhanuus I'm 42 and ttc # 5 now for 12 months after a mc last summer .

Good luck isabeller

Hi to everyone else and have a great weekend Grin

mumalah · 31/05/2013 09:29

Hi everyone ! Congratulations isabella I'm so pleased for you !
Calibee I wish you the best of luck for your wedding, I,m going to my cousins wedding on the same day, I will be thinking of you!
Welcome Juhannus
I had some negative opks at the beginning of the week, but gradually getting darker only to disappear altogether on Wednesday, then started to go darker yesterday. This has never happened before, can anyone shed any light on this ? Dh didnt want to know when Im ovulating, to take off the pressure, however i have tried to dtd 3 times this week , without actually telling him, and each time his up for it during the day, then too tired by nighttime. That with the opks I think I may have missed my opportunity this month. Last night I ended up having a go at him. I told him if he was too tired to make a baby, then maybe he would be too tired to have a baby. That didn't go down too well, and hes not speaking. Oh well.
Hello to everyone else, and sorry to rant!

catdoctor · 31/05/2013 13:51

Hello all - don't know if you remember me, I was on the thread before last but last but last - I made myself give up mumsnetting as spending too much time!

I'm not here to crow, please don't misunderstand, but to report I'm upduffed, 13 weeks now, sensible nuchal results.

A reminder - I'm 45, DS just coming up to 3 - conceived when I was 41, both natural conceptions, used fertility friend this time, flirted a bit with herbs.

Just trying to give hope - it does apparantly happen against all the odds. Now I'm hovering over the return key as thinking I'll jinx it all if I post!

Good luck to all.

CaliBee · 31/05/2013 14:25

Thankyou all for the good wishes....very much appreciated.
Congratulations catdoctor....tell us more about your herby flirtations Grin

Dd1 had a scan this morning......its a boy.

Mumalah i wonder if you geared up to ov but didnt quite make it so your body is making a second attempt? Do you have any other signs? Do you chart your temps?

JBrd · 31/05/2013 18:40

CaliBee Just want to wish you all the best for tomorrow! Have a fab fab day with lots of love & laughter, and a great start to married life!
Hoping we might get to see some pictures....Wink

Welcome Juhannus!

gum How is your gum/tooth? Sounds like a nasty infection... When is your big exotic holiday, must be soon now?!

green Good to hear that everything is going well, keep us posted!

Diege Hope you have a lovely holiday, are you going anywhere nice?

Hello to everyone else, sorry for the rushed post! But not much to report from my end... Currently waiting to ovulate - I literally have just come out of a seemingly never-ending af, it lasted 12 days Shock! Getting -ves on the OPK and Cbfm, but lots of very watery cm... So I reckon it's imminent, am on CD15 today. Trying to muster up some motivation for dtd...Confused

mozzarellamummy · 31/05/2013 20:42

I wrote a long post and my phone got rid of it.. Angry.I am now trying to make DD sleep but she is too excited because her dad is back home .. Calibee I would like to be a lurker at your wedding!
I had the lump in my breast checked and I will have results within ten days..I was more haunted by sad memories than worried by the exam..I hope I won't have to worry later..
jahunnus welcome abroad! catdoctor I like your story!! Smile

isadorable · 31/05/2013 20:56

Congratulations catdoctor - that's great news.

Calibee - have a lovely day and a glass of champagne or two for me... Enjoy it all!

Jbrd I'm happy to hear you're getting back to some semblance of normality.

Mumalah sorry dp is not cooperating. It's not easy to be 'spontaneous' when you know it is urgent! It is hard on relationships but he needs to get his arse in gear (!)

Pink - good to hear from you.

Gum - you're v quiet. Hope all's well.

Notcarrie - how'd you get on?

I am desperately curious to hear from Tina too.

I am on the futon in dd's room. She is in trouble cos she switched the tv off when dp had put it on a time shift thing while we ate dinner. She's full of cold but full of mischief too tonight. I keep trying to ignore her in the hopes that she'll drop off instead of singing the mama song "mama mama mama (repeat x16 to any tune you like)" and throwing her teddies at me!

Irishmammybread · 31/05/2013 21:16

CaliBee just wanted to wish you all the best for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you on your big day, hope you have a wonderful time!
Congratulations Catdoctor! I'm 45 too and DH wants to stop ttc now after multiple miscarriages but I am finding it hard to come to terms with so I'm still lurking on this thread!
JBrd I can sympathize with your long AF, I'm on d10 of some bleeding with my miscarriage. My last early miscarriage was over within a week, this time bleeding isn't heavy but the spotting just doesn't seem to be stopping. How's your new job going?
gum hope your gum is settling down! I had a similar problem with a tooth that had root canal treatment, at least because the nerve is gone it's not as bad when they have to work on it.
green how lovely to have had another scan and know that little one is doing well!
hope you have a good holiday Diege
mozza it must feel like a long wait to get your diagnosis and it must have been difficult going back to the hospital.I hope your results turn out ok and you can relax.
Welcome Juhannus
Hi ti littlepink and everyone else

sparklysapphire · 31/05/2013 23:12

Calibee, wishing you all the best for a fabulous wedding day tomorrow, I hope you both thoroughly enjoy the day and of course a very happy future ahead of you.

Green, good to know all is well and the haematoma has cleared up.

Congratulations catdoctor, how lovely to know all is well. Pop over and say hi on the 40+ pregnancy thread if you feel so inclined.

Gum, I hope your tooth infection has cleared up, it sounds unpleasant.

Isabeller, how are you feeling? I hope it's sinking in, and you're doing ok. I can't imagine how you are managing to concentrate on your course,

Irish, nice to hear from you, I hope the bleeding stops soon.

I'm doing fine, I don't have gestational diabetes which is a relief, I was tested due to age and DD being a big baby, and rapidly approaching the final trimester!

Welcome to all the newbies, hi to everyone.

hopefulgum · 31/05/2013 23:22

Good Morning lovely ladies. Big welcome to Juhannus. I've been quiet, mainly due to busy-ness and not much to report, though I am sure once I start typing, I'll find something to rattle on about!

Isadorable, I had to laugh when I read your post. How old is your DD? My DS is four and when I put him to bed (when I am not feeling too lazy and let him fall asleep on the couch Shock) I have to read at least three stories, then I have to sing the "goodnight" song where I sing, "goodnight daddy, goodnight daddy, goodnight daddy, it's time to go to sleep..." over and over, replacing "daddy" with every single person we know or are aquainted with. On a good night he's asleep by the time we get to his cousins!

Well, the gum is on the mend, though the tooth does feel a bit weird. The xray showed an infection, and it is not as swollen now, so the antibiotics must be working. I now have a head cold though, and a sore throat, but it's nothing I can't handle.

I caught up with my lovely doctor on Thursday and I feel very glad to have gone. She is quite a "spiritual" person (compared to most medics) and told me I had been in her thoughts for the last couple of weeks, so she wondered if I was sick or pregnant (apparently she has these "premonitions" about some of her patients). Anyway we had a good talk about ttc, she still thinks there is no need for clomid or femara as I am ovulating by myself. She said she really does understand my desire to have another and there's no reason to stop ttc if I still want a child. Also, she finally prescribed the progesterone for me, and coincidentally she recently had another patient (who is 40) just go on progesterone (she liased with a fertility specialist) and after several miscarriages is successfully pregnant. She's started me on oral progesterone, but with a bfp with put me on the pessaries.

She said to start the progesterone when I get a positive opk, but everything I have read suggests starting it after you are sure you have ovulated. I would have thought that if you take it too early, you would prevent ovulation (as happens when taking the contraceptive pill). Any thoughts?

Jbrd, I am pleased to hear your long AF has stopped and now you can get on with ttc. I have everything crossed for both of us this month. It is high time we got our THB, don't you think? And, yes, the tropical holiday is only 5 weeks away. Yippee. It will be lovely, especially as we are having some very cold weather. 14 degrees celcius here, which is very cold in Aussie terms! I spoke to the doctor about getting vaccinations etc for traveling and she said it really isn't worth it, that good hygiene should keep us all well. It is a relief as some of the vaccines would stop me from ttc for three months.

Calibee - I hope the BIG DAY is everything you want. Have a lovely day, and know that your cyber friends will be virtually throwing confetti at you. I hope we'll see pics soon! ThanksThanksThanksThanks

It is a long weekend here. I am off to town for a spot of shopping, have to buy my sister a birthday gift. I have no idea what to get her,and every year I buy her jewellery, so I need to think of something else. Maybe a nice scarf??

Have a lovely day everyone Smile

Hello to everyone else... I am reading all your posts!!! Xxxxx

hopefulgum · 01/06/2013 01:15

Oh dear, I have just goggled the "progesterone" my doctor prescribed: it's estrogen Shock! What??? Why would she prescribe estrogen for the tww? I am so confused. And it is a long weekend, so I won't be able to call her til Tuesday, which is a really busy day teaching! Grr...

HAs anyone heard of this drug "Progynova" and how it is used?
