The former thread proved full of sadness and most vexatious disappointments, wherefore we know not :(. Therefore the BESH will be donning their empire dresses and enlisting the assistance of Captain Wentworth and his admirable breeches and Mr Darcy smouldering damply in his transparent white shirt both of whom with their pleasing countenances and sound judgements and enormous fortunes, in short both of whom are everything a young man ought to be in the expectation that happier times may be ahead for the BESH.

A most erudite and appropriate quote indeed, Miss Norf. I did snigger most fulsomely. Smile

Northey · 09/03/2013 08:29

Alas, my shrubberies are too often publicly invaded these days. I may as well set up a public right of way.

I am inspired by the thread to read some Austen now, so have dug out pride and prejudice and gone back to bed.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 09/03/2013 09:30

Well missNorth that is a most impressively appropriate quote, it is quite pleasant to know my shrubberies are having a break of being invaded by strangers.

I am ready to go back to bed too, but have used moderate violence to raise my most esteemed husband. I was counting on him being out and me finally watching all of DA but he is here and needing some attention Hmm

Thinking of you euro. And of everyone coming on this mothering Sunday. It is just WRONG. Mine not due til Thursday at the earliest, so I think I am safe...

cherrycoconut · 09/03/2013 11:49

Just popping in here from the Elderberries to express my commiserations and admiration for you Euro so sorry to hear your news. I hope it's all over soon and you will be ready to fight another day.

And while I'm sticking my nose over the fence it's maybe apt to add my favourite Jane Austin quote which is a Mr Bennett quip from P&P which goes something like "For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbours, and laugh at them in our turn??. In this case of course not laughing but sharing the general indignities of invaded shrubberies and the like, absolutely! One must keep up ones sense of humour in the sometimes dark days of this ttc lark.

MavisCruet176 · 09/03/2013 11:54

norf - chuckle! shrubbery is going to be my new euphemism Grin

maamalady · 09/03/2013 12:19

Indeed, driz, mother's day can fuck right off. I am having lunch with a friend on Monday, I hope to fuck she doesn't talk about her first mother's day, I am liable to burst into sobs...

Love the shrubberies :)

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 09/03/2013 13:31

Even when I first saw that scene at fourteen, it was side splitting.

Too late Norf, it's gone, gone....gone....like the last leaves of autumn.....like my fertility....

I've just had to waste half an hour looking up more clips from the Holy Grail - definitely funniest Python movie Grin

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 09/03/2013 13:56

I think this might be my favourite. It reminds me of every committee I've ever sat on.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 09/03/2013 14:05

Though I think The Life of Brian has the edge.

MavisCruet176 · 09/03/2013 14:17

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 09/03/2013 14:40

Mavis, forgive me, but if you say lol again I may have to eject you from the BESH Palais

Aha - there is been good time wasting going on here.

Since I last looked on here I have gone food shopping, done a load washing, put bolognese sauce on for endless simmering and made blueberry crumble muffins (www.eating-for-england.com/blueberry-crumble-muffins/). Feel all virtuous. Time to read all the papers and drink tea for the rest of the day. Monty Python will wait til tomorrow when I need to work on a paper.

Take 2, you should all try them (unless you're everything that is in them free)

LazyMachine · 09/03/2013 15:09

I'm so sorry to hear what's going on Euro - hope this stage passes quickly. Do take good care of yourself this weekend.

Casserole · 09/03/2013 22:46

Ahem

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 10/03/2013 09:38

Ooooh Cass, that's good. We should all buy one!

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/03/2013 09:50

Morning BESH. Euro virtual flowers, cake, wine gin coming your way. Hope you have glued yourself to the sofa with some crap TV, Mr Euro and a snuggly duvet.

Does anyone on here have any experience of thyroid issues? I'm having stupidly low temps this month post O (FF has given me crosshairs but no idea why as I can't see that my temp went up any worthwhile amount) but dr google seems to suggest my average temps could be indicative of low thyroid.

EuroShaggleton · 10/03/2013 09:51

Cass that is brilliant. I love that line. Particularly when Colin Firth is delivering it.

Rie I'm loving the old school Monty Python. We hired a youth into the dept last year. It came out that he had never seen Monty Python or Blackadder. One of my colleagues and I decided to remedy that and bought him the box sets for Xmas. We viewed it as plugging a gap in his cultural education.

Norf where is that quote from?

I had a near miss a moment ago. I almost clicked on facebook. Shock Must remember to stay away today. It will just be too vom/tear-inducing.

It doesn't look like mc Droid (makes it sound like a club DJ) is going to put in an appearance today. I was hoping for a sod's law mother's day start. I'm dragging myself out for a hard run in a minute to see if that brings the cramps on. I cramped quite badly after my last run. My boobs still hurt though so I know the progesterone hasn't dropped that much yet.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 10/03/2013 11:39

I am annoyed with the world today. It can fuck off. MrRie is of course completely oblivious. Why on earth should this day be any different to another? I mean it's not like we even have any children And now I'm getting the silent treatment, just because I asked him to sort out a wedding invitation from one of HIS friends. He has too much to do apparently and I should do it: respond, book the hotel and get the present. I of course have less to do Hmm. This is after having sat watching YouTube videos since he got up.

Moan, moan, moan....
