Kittenkatzen · 31/08/2012 11:32

(sorry I know that's awful but seriously, can you think of anything else that rhymes with "eleven"?!)

Ladies, leave your OPKs at the door, and settle in for part 11 of JSing!

Fred rules;

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share Wine and [tea] with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.
Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.
Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce Envy in other posters).
Viroid = This is you, dear poster. The reason for this is a closely guarded secret, known only to....er....well, nobody as far as we can tell!
POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit).
Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.
Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

The link to Part 10 is here.

The link to the latest grads thread is here.

So don those shag capes, we have standards to maintain - Part 10 saw an amazing 9 BFPs, including one set of twins! So - what are you still doing here? GET SHAGGING!!

:o

Holy fuck, I'm only fucking pregnant! Feel free to throw rotten fruit, I would if I were you. In total shock, literally just did the test (and came online instead of ringing my OH? hmmm don't tell him will you) Immediate dark line, cannot believe I've got pregnant without even having a period after coming off the pill. I'm 30 for christ sake, I expected this to take a year which is why I've kept putting off testing because I KNEW I couldn't be pregnant yet. Oh fuck, I'm in a total panic, the shock is so much I haven't even got to the feeling happy bit yet, I am literally SHAKING. Keep looking at the test and re-reading the instructions and being a novice thinkig I MUST have got this wrong, this can't be right surely?

Purplemonster · 27/10/2012 11:38

Oh fuck and I've been drinking and smoking, ah fucksticks, I'm a bad mother already, fuck fuck fuck now if anything goes wrong and this doesn't stick I'll be able to blame myself forever, how am I supposed to know HOW pregnant I am without a proper period to date by? shitshitshit but I don't FEEL pregnant I thought I would know (wailing to myself now) ah shit I shouldn't be drinking tea either should I fuckfuckfuck (throws soothing cup of tea down the sink and wonders what the fuck to do next other than panic)

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/10/2012 11:42

MrsBri, 6 kids?! Oy! Wolstenbeast is a much better fertility god name than 'Chris'. I think we'll have JS set to Muse this month, just for research of course.

Perdita, sorry to hear you're out.

Kitten, if you lie on your side or on your front & cross your legs & have DH approach from behind. Would be easier to describe with a diagram.

Breaking the first rule of JS club this month & the next, opk-ing just to see when/if I ov as I hope this doesn't fubar my cycles.

hooya, hope the sex was fun this morning anyhoo!
After having DS I only bled for 3 days (it was light spotting more than anything) so hope you don't have to spend too long in pads when it happens.

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/10/2012 11:43

Oh shite! Didn't refresh!! CONGRATULATIONS PURPLE!!
Most women are still drinking/doing bad stuff before they find out they're pg so please don't feel too bad! xxx

Purplemonster · 27/10/2012 11:47

Thank you Horse, feel free to hate me a little bit, it does seem mightily unfair. At least I've been taking frolic acid Smile so at least I've got SOMETHING right. I can't believe it, I know I keep saying that but I'm in shock. When I say drinking I mean a few beers at home not keeling over puking in a gutter but still...I feel terrible about it.

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/10/2012 11:51

I'd literally only started re-drinking the weeks before I got a positive with DS & I wasn't taking frolic acid & he's normal (well, as normal as can be when related to me). [hsmile]
Good luck in giving up smoking! Have you told OH yet? x

Kittenkatzen · 27/10/2012 11:55

Wow purple congratulations!! About time we had someone do a kitten round here! [hgrin] deep breaths and make yourself a fresh cuppa, one cup of tea won't hurt! Have you told DH yet?

Thanks for the tip horse

AndieMatrix · 27/10/2012 12:05

Congrats Purple your Dr will prob do a bit more at your per-booking apt as he won't be able to use the little due date predictor wheel and will probably book you in for an early scan. Well done lady. Seriously, have a cuppa.

frogchops · 27/10/2012 12:18

OMG. And I never say omg!!
Congrats purple!!!! U were meant to be my buddy here, lol same age, same times, same pill, ahhhhh I hope I have the same luck!!
I want to know everything, well not everything, lol but maybe ur dates of Dtd compared to expected ov etc!! Ahh I'm so pleased for you! I didn't think u were at poas point yet!

Purplemonster · 27/10/2012 13:40

Thank you thank you thank you everyone.
OH still not home from work so you're all the first to know and I REALLY needed to tell someone!
Sorry Frog, please forgive me! I'll hang around here still and hold your hand (the CLEAN one if you're POAS please) until you get your bfp too.
Right I've rounded up every lighter in the house and binned them, filled the fridge with alcohol free beer and taken some vitamins so I feel slightly more in control now. Still don't believe it, maybe I should pee on the other stick (was a supermarket cheapie pack of two) just to make sure? Because it can't be right right?
Oh hell, doing a kitten is against the JSing rules isn't it? Do I get banished now? Grin

Purplemonster · 27/10/2012 15:11

Nope, stick number 2 says I'm pregnant as well. Must be a faulty batch Wink

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 27/10/2012 15:33

Congrats purple!
I'm kind of still lurking and this may help you feel better - the first few weeks it doesn't matter too much if you are drinking because its a self contained yolk sac and isn't taking any nutrition from you until it starts to create the placenta. (As I said on a diff thread - its helped me come to terms with the fact that I drank wine and lots of tea and ate 'unsafe' foods in the first 3 weeks I could have been pg!)

frogchops · 27/10/2012 17:18

Ahh thanks purple, I'll keep a clean hand lol. Don't even know/haven't even worked out when my poas time is, but I know ur 2/3 weeks ahead if me. Although j was joking earlier, actually I be interested to know ur dates for coming off, ov, Dtd, poas etc. in the hope that if I replicate this ......!!?

Redshoes56 · 27/10/2012 20:49

purple - big congratulations for you! Do not worry about the drinking and such. These days, pregnant women catch flack for everything. I can almost assure you my mother was enjoying hot dogs and deli meats and maybe even the occasional sip of beer (GASP) when she was pregnant with me, and I turned out just fine. Well, just about fine?

kitten I realize I never answered your question ? I?ve been off the pill since March, and ?not preventing? since May, but we?ve only been TTC in earnest for three or four months. Plenty of time yet before I need to worry. I?m just anxious to get the show on the road!

horse so sorry for you if it is indeed bad news Sad Hang in there. Don?t feel bad about turning to OPKs, I think we?ve collectively relaxed that rule of late - as long as we stay sane about everything else! The smiley-face ones really do work well despite the expense. Two months worth revealed things I wouldn?t have known otherwise (I ovulate late, but at least it?s consistent from month to month).

My little plastic stick is smiling at me as of yesterday, speaking of, so Operation: Baby-Making Sex is in full swing. DH suggested the living room floor last night so we had some naughty fun (yes, the cats were in the vicinity, horrified). Other than that, we?re spending the weekend preparing for Hurricane Sandy. I always joke about the New Jerseyans who wipe out the groceries of water, bread and batteries before an inch of snow, but this storm seems pretty serious. On the hunt for D batteries for our lanterns, which Amazon just delivered to the house, along with a crank radio that also claims to charge smartphones. Love Amazon.

Maybe we?ll conceive a little hurricane baby!

Kittenkatzen · 28/10/2012 01:08

Ooh red if you make a hurricane baby you could name it Storm! Grin And yes sounds like we're very similar timings wise, nice to know someone else in the same boat.

mrsbri/horse just got back from the gig - it was AMAZING. No surprise numbers (bah) but a really good set, we had so much fun and were 5 rows from the front Grin Chris side of course - wanted to be as close as possible to catch those Wolstonbeast fertility vibes!

OP posts:
Hooya · 28/10/2012 02:15

Purple congrats and lol at your panic - second all the clever reassuring things people have said!

How did your OH take it? Bet he was ever so smug about his super sperm Grin my dp did a little shake-his-balls-dance when I got mine please do hang around here, if I get another bfp I am staying until 12 weeks whether anyone likes it or not Smile

Ooh red hope all goes ok with the hurricane, our NY office is all prepared and taking it very seriously, so hope all goes well and a hurricane baby sounds rather romantic doesn't it?

Kitten very amused by the thought of you jumping DH then heading to the gig to take on some fertility vibes via the soundwaves - that will be a good story for DC if it works!

Horse how are you?

Here I am getting pretty annoyed. My bleeding is not ERTD, it's just like one or two small clots per day but no flow at all and no pain. Tested yesterday (DP insisted, bless him) but bfn, though it was probably 3 days too early. It all feels exactly like last time tbh but who knows - I am clearly having a proper wtf cycle!

Redshoes56 · 28/10/2012 03:15

Thanks, hooya -- I am usually skeptical about storm hype, but this evil Sandy character is massive! We are pretty well prepared. I anticipate losing power at our house. We got lucky last year after Hurricane Irene, as we were in an apartment complex with underground power lines. My in-laws and friends on the other hand had no power for five or six days. The power company here already said outages could be even longer this time. Ugh. We'll just keep working on our hurricane baby.

Weird bleeding -- sounds promising, perhaps? Fingers crossed!

MrsBri · 28/10/2012 10:35

Yay, Kitten! FX for you :-)

If you look at my profile photos I've added a photo that DH took at the Roundhouse gig of Chris. He then tweeted the photo, from the gig, claiming to have caught Chris' impregnation rays on camera. Little did he know, I was busy getting up duffed at the time he was tweeting it. So it HAS to be true! :-)

Woman is right though, imagine if you do get your BFP this cycle, women who are TTC will be making pilgrimages to watch Muse in the hope that the Wolstenbeast has the desired effect on them too! Funny.

Hooya, boo to the WTF cycle you're having. Fx for a proper cycle and another (sticky) BFP very soon.

Good luck with the storm and the shagging Red.

Congrats to Purple. Don't worry about the drinking, I got plastered the day before my BFP. I'd also had my hen do just before / around implantation! I also had a couple of drinks at my wedding a couple of days after the BFP, as there's no sharing of blood then. I haven't drunk anything since, however.

CaraMaloney90 · 28/10/2012 14:23

hello new to mumsnet just lurking about whilst I wait to officially start TTC! Thought I'd hop on the bandwagon and see if I could find a few people TTC

We're going to start TTC in dec..we already have one DS who is 20 months we want to just DTD Wink and hopefully conceive anotger DC that way without the hassle of ov strips, temps etc. congrats to those with a BFP! Smile eagerly awaiting being officially able to start DTD unprotected- had implant out yesterday

Kittenkatzen · 28/10/2012 14:25

Ha ha that's a great pic nic, fx i caught some of those rays last night :o

hooya that sounds crappy, how frustrating for you. Are you going to give it a few days and then test again just to be sure?

OP posts:
Morien · 28/10/2012 15:31

Hello everyone, I'm new to MN too - and delighted to find this thread as all the talk of temping and whatnot elsewhere has had me a little worried that I'm just not taking this TTC business seriously enough.

TTC for 2 months after mc in August (having got my BFP in the first month of TTC). I don't think it's happening this month as have been spotting for 2 days - never happened before, but the in other 2 cycles since my mc I spotted for a week or so before ERTD really started so I assume that's what's happening again.

frogchops · 28/10/2012 15:58

Hello cara and morien! (Waves)

OhGood · 28/10/2012 16:20

Purple you did a kitten! Huge congrats! Don't worry, I will drink your Wine

Hi morien and cara - morien there are a few of us here DTD after mc - me among them - ERTD this month not arrived yet but I am assuming this is odd cycle after last month's mc. I am going to POAS tomorrow though just in case.

hooya what a bugger. Are you going to POAS again in case?

caramal · 28/10/2012 17:56

Cara- changed my name to caramal x

BoyMeetsWorld · 28/10/2012 20:28

Hi all...got d/c'd for a bit (anyone else's app being silly?) but back on now. Lovely to see new Shaggers ...and big congrats purple.

Red how scary..I've been reading all the stuff about Frankenstorm & feeling shuddery even without it affecting me in the slightest. Hope it passes uneventfully - & you manage some stormy baby making :)

ERTD over & out, back to JSing with a vengeance :) it def makes sex better having a 'purpose', don't you think?
