NC optional but not essential. Create your tag line and describe your outfit in detail. Wanna be BESH superheroes must prove their might by undergoing a gruelling set of tasks completing the BESHtionnaire hidden elsewhere in old threads

How are you feeling Faith?

New pup woke me up at 6. I fed him then ran 10k. SSG is going away with work tomorrow for a week so I will be alone with new pup. I am feeling the weight of responsibility. Already fretting about going to work on Tuesday, I'm coming home at lunch time but it seems a long time to leave him. Agggghhhhh!!

HaveALittleFaith · 19/08/2012 09:43

I'm ok. Buzzwams are very sore, nausea comes and goes. Trying not to pee on any more sticks for now! 8 is enough right?

What kind of puppy is it? MSB really would luff one but I have resisted, epically with the house newly redecorated. I suspect down the line when it's not just him but possibly DC with the can we get a dog? Can we get a dog? I will probably cave!

I quite miss running :( I haven't been well enough since March but I will plan to go for a long walk today to try to maintain my fitness. 10k is impressive!

Good work on the runjethro! I planned to do 5k this morning and then realised that I have packed my trainers at the bottom of my case for my forthcoming travels. Doh.

Faif with those symptoms, I'd like to think I'd be happy to leave it at 8 but I know I probably would need the reassurance of seeing the second line . I am so pleased for you. Did you say it was after 2 yrs and 8 months??? I'm on cycle 22 now (although cycle 21 was my post-IVF anovlatory one, so there are only 21 where I was in with a chance). The two year mark is looming.

HaveALittleFaith · 19/08/2012 10:12

I'm just enjoying Biggest Loser! Think I might get moving in a minute!

Yes two years 8 months although we weren't really really trying for all of those - having said that there were only a couple of months when we didn't actuallly do the sechs around the right time. Hence why we were planning to use contraception for the next few months Hmm because we found it impossible not to not try if we don't (iykwim). Also when I ovulated while I was in hospital in March so that month was out! I'll probably retest next week.

Morning my lovelies, it's another beautiful day here so I'm going to make myself useful and do some weeding in the garden and then wash my car in advance of our trip to York on Wednesday.

I'm still so Grin for you Faithy. We're up to 2 years and 3 months but what with my wobbly cycles that has probably only meant 10 or 11 actual cycles. It makes me feel better to think about it that way Grin

Norf how are you doing today my deary?

JethroTull · 19/08/2012 11:23

8 is plenty! Although there was once an ESH who built some sort of sculpture out of positive piss sticks due to disbelief.

I'm doing a half marathon in 4 weeks so have been running loads recently. It's given me a focus & has really helped with my lack of baybee winning stress levels.

Pup is a Boxer. Very very cute. Clearly a child substitute.

HaveALittleFaith · 19/08/2012 12:47

BeardyDaddyMan suggested I make a smiley face out of them!

Wow a half marathon? That was my plan - 10k in March, Great North run in September but obviously not happening! My sister and friend are doing the Worksop half in October. I will go and cheer them on! I have just done a 5k walk in the sunshine I'm sure it helped that I've got fitter again recently and I want to keep it up as long as I can!

Am doing ok, thanks, frankel. Just spent 3 1/2 hours back in hospital for blood test and sick certificate (and an embarrassing massive snotty blubbering sob fest on the nurse and then the junior doctor and then the registrar in turn). Have been signed off for a month, and can already feel the anxiety falling away. I was working so hard to keep self control going in case I was going to need to go back in on Monday or something. Now I feel like I can actually give in and grieve and not worry about it.

Oh, and they were horrified that I had been sent away without pain relief yesterday and have given me a lovely stash :)

On way back to AMNH now. Going to spend a week reading bodice rippers and watching box sets and sleeping.

blonderthanred · 19/08/2012 17:12

Faith, I only just threw away my collection of 24 piss sticks that I had kept on my bedside table for, well I guess about 23 weeks. TBI somewhat relieved that I have let go of them, I think he thought I was going to frame them.

Wish so much we could get another dog. Our dear Fred died last October and then in February I got a full-time job (6 weeks before the epic piss-stick collection, oops) so we couldn't get another. One day.

FrankelSaysRelax · 19/08/2012 17:18

Glad to hear you are doing I'm Norf, and yay for sympathetic nurse/registrars. Bring on the drugs!

Take it easy over the next few weeks. If you don't have a LoveFilm/NetFlicks subscription get signed up now. They usually do a 30 day free trial so that ought to keep you occupied Grin

HaveALittleFaith · 19/08/2012 17:35

Oh thank goodness norf. I'm glad you are sorted with a sick note and pain killers. I second the LoveFilm recommendation. We've got it and it's great. Definitely worth the money. I hope you are able to relax and get your head round things.

I've just got back from shopping with my sister. She needed a wedding outfit because she had two coming up. She bought a stunning dress, bag, fascinator. Just needs to order the shoes online. I bought a luffly black blazer (that doesn't have a button so I can still wear it down the line!) and a gorgeous black mac with cream piping. Happy days!

ShredniVashtar · 19/08/2012 17:48

Afternoon all. Glad you've been signed off, north - a week if bodice rippers and filums sounds just the thing. Have they given you codeine? Mmm luffly codeine. A daily bowl of all bran might be needed though...

Good skills everyone with your running/ walking / shooting efforts. Between us we surely make some kind of BESH pentathlete team, no?

GFBW has just tempted me with a g and t. I know technically it's not gin oclock yet, but it is the weekend Grin

PS ariel just read that thread. MN is fecking mental sometimes!

HaveALittleFaith · 19/08/2012 17:53

It's always gin o'clock somewhere ferretface!

OP posts:
ShredniVashtar · 19/08/2012 18:20

HaveALittleFaith · 19/08/2012 18:52

You are a BESH. Gin is always ok! So is drinking on a Sunday afternoon!

Aargh, dinner with in-laws was going fairly well until CGH dropped another diffage announcement on me re: one of our friends (his uni mate, not mine). I got a bit uppity, which prompted MiL to comment about our lack of baybee, asking (and I quote) "Well are you having problems?".

Back. The. Fuck. Off.

Even if we were "having problems", I wouldn't be shouting it from the fucking rooftops, would I?

FML.

HaveALittleFaith · 19/08/2012 20:45

:( alwyn always tricky. We were open with family after about a year because it was obvious we wanted kids. In fact SiL's response to our news of diffment, after screaming for about a minute!, was its about time! Did you not just say you had to see what happened with work stuff?

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 19/08/2012 21:23

Why is it MILs have to have no sense, eh, Alwyn?

Mine is lovely, she really is, but my god, she appears oblivious to the fact that asking things like that at the dinner table is just not on. Or any where in fact, unless I brought it up. Which I won't.

Have a gin. Hell, have the bottle.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 19/08/2012 21:25

Hello to the people I don't know very well yet :)

FrankelSaysRelax · 19/08/2012 21:28

My MIL has a bad case of "speak before you think" too. We haven't told her, or any if HWHNN's family that we're TTC. I don't like the idea of too many people knowing our business, and neither does HWHNN.

There have been a few occasional comments of "If I get any grandchildren..." but HWHNN is adamant she's not being nasty, just not thinking. She can't complain about us taking our time though, she was 37 and 39 when she had HWHNN and his brother. They didn't have problems, she and HWHNN's dad didn't meet and get married till their mid-30s.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 19/08/2012 21:30

I have little intention of discussing this with my in laws. Now at least. He can tell them if he likes. I find it amusing to think how much more popular we will become if we produce a baby :(

Now that mad woman is accusing me of being a bully. I'm getting pretty pissed off if I'm honest.

eurochick · 19/08/2012 21:34

They sent you away with no pain relief Norfy??? That's inhumane! I'm glad you have the sick note you need know.

Shred I used to shag one of the GB pentathletes back in the day . He once gave me a naked fencing demo. Grin

alwyn that sounds painful. Despite my mum's lack of support and sympathy, I am glad we have told our close friends and rellies to put a stop to those kinds of thoughtless difficult questions and comments.

I'm in forrin parts now. Fortunately the hotel has decent wifi (tis actually quite a nice hotel all told). I've just been out for a nice seafood dinner and glass of wine. The hard work starts tomorrow! The tube ride across London with a huge amount of luggage in muggy 30 degree heat was awful. At least KFZK came with me so I could give him all the heavy stuff to carry. Wink

eurochick · 19/08/2012 21:36

What mad woman Rie?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 19/08/2012 21:53

It's ok, euro. It's kind of blowing over.

But I will not be called a bully. Oh no.

Are we talking Modern Pentathlon? Or, like, Mary Peters?

FrankelSaysRelax · 19/08/2012 21:56

Go euro you norty girl Grin

I spoke to Peter Wilson's (bloke who won the shooting gold) dad on the phone on Thursday. He's a racehorse breeder. [very tenuous Olympic claim to fame]

Night all!
