NC optional but not essential. Create your tag line and describe your outfit in detail. Wanna be BESH superheroes must prove their might by undergoing a gruelling set of tasks completing the BESHtionnaire hidden elsewhere in old threads
Fly on in and make yourself at home in our obviously secret lair :)

hiya queenie! I hope you start to feel better once you pass the 12 week point.

bugs we're very excited, especially DNephew! he keeps unpacking his bucket and spade :) we're going to meander down tomorrow. If it takes time, it takes time. We're going to cycle to the Olympic event so no worries about traffic there. it's only a couple of miles from where we're staying (at the Haven site).

I'm a bit Shock because I've finished packing and I can fit it all in the bag. What have I forgotten?!

Can I just say Torch Torch Torch Torch

Grin
queenrollo · 27/07/2012 20:30

bugs my Dh recognises all the places you mentioned as he lived on Portland for a while.

I am mega grumpy today.....

HaveALittleFaith · 27/07/2012 22:27

We'll be staying in Littlesea :)

Ooh Torch luff it!

Blimey braved Tesco thinking it would be quiet with the opening ceremony. It was....but it was full of idiots who blocked up the aisles! Confused but hey it's done now.

Delighted to say the shoes fit and are fab (and packed!).

HaveALittleFaith · 27/07/2012 22:35

Ps queen I'm pretty grumpy too! Why is preparing for a relaxing holiday so tiring?!

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 28/07/2012 07:43

So....moment of truth with project BMI baybee. 2 week weigh in - I've lost 6lb! Grin

FrankelSaysRelax · 28/07/2012 08:40

[applauds] Well done Faithy!

I'm knackered, I stayed up for the whole Opening Ceremony -amazing by the way- and didn't get to bed till 1am. Latest night I've had in ages [old gimmer]

FriendofDorothy · 28/07/2012 09:30

Wow faithy that's amazing! You must be really chuffed about that!

FrankelSaysRelax · 28/07/2012 10:33

If anyone has 5 minutes to spare, I highly recommend you head over to the BBC website and take a peak at the Eventing live stream. Today and tomorrow is the dressage phase, often described as ballet on horseback. I love it, this is what I wanted to do when I was younger Grin

HaveALittleFaith · 28/07/2012 12:07

Yes I'm chuffed to bits and proud of my achievement in the time scale! I think you can tell I've lost weight from my face and my belly.

Currently travelling down south so can't look cavey/ frankelly! But I do like horsey stuff :)

Oops, accidentally posted on old fred. I was trying to catch up on the end of fred, draft post so I could remember what I wanted to say and then copy it across to this one, but that was clearly too much for me....

Anyway, Faif I was saying that your boss's behaviour is bullying. Start keeping notes of what happens when. Enjoy shopping and hollibobs. The traffic will be horrible though, as Bugs said, so take snacks and water for the journey. My BiL lives down there and it's bad enough getting there when the Lympics are not on! Well done on the weightloss. That is fantastic!

Laura hurrah for a good scan. I'm really pleased for you. The other PESH all seem to be doing well too. This gives me hope.

Aw kick. Your man sounds lovely. Your alturistic superhero persona is very generous.

FSR I wish I was going to see the eventing. I will definitely be trying to catch it on the telly. I applied for it but didn't get any tickets. And I could walk to it from my house! That's one way they could have minimised the traffic chaos - by setting aside a small proportion of tickets for locals. It would have been payback for all the disruption to the lovely Greenwich Park too. I am usually there a lot in summer but the rain means I haven't missed it quite as much as I thought I would.

eurochick · 28/07/2012 18:13

Right, now to do this properly.

I asked KFZK what superhero I would be and he said "Batwoman. You're all about the car. And the outfit wouldn't be bad either". So here I am.

HaveALittleFaith · 28/07/2012 19:16

Hiya euro, thanks for the reply. I did start a diary yesterday but now I'm on holiday I'm trying not to dwell on it. She's on leave when I get back do two weeks to not think about it at all.

Traffic actually wasn't bad. Worse in the opposite direction. Took a long time more due to stopping than anything - my bladder was troublesome! Confused

Sexy outfit euro Wink

OP posts:
eurochick · 28/07/2012 22:35

Fanks faif. The key thing is to be able to evidence a pattern of behaviour, and the diary does that. If you never need it, you've just spent a small amount of time writing stuff down. If you do, you have a contemporaneous account of what happened.

BTW, I have been through something similar as I think I mentioned on the old fred. I put up with it for a while and then found a new job. When I left, my boss's boss called me in for a chat. Basically he was obviously keeping an eye on my dept and wanted someone who wasn't afraid of this guy to talk about how he was treating people. Employers do care about this stuff. My dept had shed a number of people because of this guy and it had clearly been noticed.

HaveALittleFaith · 29/07/2012 14:25

I'll certainly do that and see how things are in the build up to me moving back.

Currently seems a million miles away. We're at a classic car festival in the sunshine (it drizzled for about 10 minutes) having a picnic. DNephew has been on the roundabout and bouncy castle and we've had ice cream. This is the life!

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 29/07/2012 15:24

I would quite like and ice cream and a go on a bouncy castle.

Suppose one of the benefits of being a BESH is an intact pelvic floor with which to enjoy bouncy castles in confidence.

What's everyone up to? We tried to go to the fair that's set up down the road yesterday but got half way before it started raining. Just headed back and spent the Reston the day watching random Olympic sports.

Today I'm meant to be writing a couple of pieces for work that I've been putting off forever. Yawn. Not helped by my ancient, almost wind up, laptop. Hence posting.

Going out for a meal tonight though. Am salivating at the the thought of my blue steak already.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 29/07/2012 15:26

Good lord. Again, fat fingers fail with the typing on an iPad.

Just skim read it - it'll make much more sense if you don't try to concentrate too hard...

FrankelSaysRelax · 29/07/2012 15:58

I'm here. I'm supposed to be revising for this equine reproduction exam in 2 weeks, but feel very unmotivated! It's quite interesting to see that the hormones actually work slightly differently in horses than they do in people (stops boring everyone)

Anyway, I've been watching the cycling and am now turning back to the dressage phase of the eventing. We've one rider left to go, William Fox-Pitt at about 4.10pm, and the GB team are sitting in 4th, only 20 or so points off the leaders Germany. 20 points is nothing in the grand scheme - you get 20 penalty points for a refusal on the cross country.

This morning I had a dance exam, which went well, though I've got to wait 3 or 4 weeks for my results.

eurochick · 29/07/2012 16:20

FSR you are making me feel guilty for slobbing in front of the tv all day!

HaveALittleFaith · 29/07/2012 16:43

Well I've cycled 10k today. The car show was fab. We stopped for a couple of drinks at a pub with a play park. Then we cycled back to the Haven site and looked the pub menu so we, er, stopped for another drink?! It's absolutely glorious :)
Dressage sounds good frankelley, it's not on here (think they're showing the F1). Very active with the dance exam! Let us know how you got on!

OP posts:
KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 16:45

We were going to run yesterday but stayed in and watched sports all day. Then we were going to cycle 50kms odd today but erm...walked to the local shop and bought chocolates instead.

Now looking up a business plan for our company we are trying to start up.

Loving the thunderstorms down here though :)

HaveALittleFaith · 29/07/2012 16:57

Thunderstorms? Where are you kickass? Can we ask about the business idea? I'll be writing a business to plug for a new job soon. My predecessor did one for our current role so I'm pretty confident.

OP posts:
KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 17:11

London - we had thunder and lightening on our walk to the shops earlier. Tucked my specs away and danced in the rain (a bit!)

We're designing software as a service. So just - software solutions really. Then I am an analyst so hopefully can combine both of our experience and offer consulting as well. :)

What are you doing a business plan for?

HaveALittleFaith · 29/07/2012 17:57

Well I'll be praying it doesn't come down here - not if I'm sleeping in a tent!!

Business idea sounds good kicker! Mine will be CNS (Clinical nurse specialist) for Falls and co-ordinate falls for the trust. I'd suggest lower grades for the other sites too (3 in total) but really that's up to them!

OP posts:
KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 18:07

Oooh fingers crossed it doesn't head down there. I did a 5-day trail once and it TIPPED for the first 2 days. My hike was wet, then when I set up the tent, I was wet, the tent was wet - there was no running water and only long drops so I couldn't even go and shower and get warm. The condensation then rested on the inside and everything was damp.

The next night, I stayed in a caravan and I remember standing in the shower for AGES. I've never been happier to have a beer and a shower :)

Ooh yours sounds cool too. I can't find any templates online so I may have to buy a package from somewhere. Need a business plan because we need to try and get investment.
