BFP in 2012- a thread for winkling-advice and COD-avoidance!

wishfulthinking1 · 15/07/2012 14:37

So... here we are!
In a positive move to avoid monthly heartache this is the thread where we'll ttc in 2012.

"will there be winkling?" of course!
"will there be tinkling?" too right! you filthy buggers
"will there be time in the COD?" probably- but it'll only be short lived!
"will there be BFPs?" YES YES YES!

A pledge! do you think I'm taking this too seriously?
I, wishfulthinking, promise to ttc with all my might. I accept that ttc is a long, drawn out process and I shant allow myself to become too obsessed with the process in 2012. (if I remain in-duffed at new year, however, I reserve the right to be right royally pissed off with life and everyone in general!)

Who's with me?

Wishfulthinkng1- ttc numero 1- expecting a sticky BFP on July 31st (and at 28 day intervals thereafter!) Days till wedding - 6!

Xxx

Congratulations mrs. Wishful!

I finally caved yesterday and POAS. Came up straight away with a very faint positive :)

Tested this morning again and def a BFP. Can't stop grinning. It still hasn't sunk in.

fatasbutter · 26/07/2012 08:10

Woo hoo congrats red ! That's awesome! X Grin

Mersea · 26/07/2012 08:44

Hi all glad you had a wonderful day wishful and congratulations!

I also secretly wouldn't mind twins, a ready made family, which could be a blessing at my age! It would be tiring though but I do have a good support network around me and if I end up having IVF it is very possible I guess.
Scan was not so good yesterday, they think there was one follicle but also a cyst. I had my injection as normal and they are hoping the cyst will disappear, otherwise it means another operation Sad more time lost. But we will DTD like mad over the next few days as we could be lucky with the one. They have also moved my hospital appointment forward from October to end of August so looks like they are considering the next step sooner.

Mersea · 26/07/2012 08:45

Congratulation red your message must have come up while I was typing - great news Grin

woody17 · 26/07/2012 10:38

Congratulations red

Sorry the scan wasn't so good mersea - sounds like a good plan to DTD lots though.

Newbie2 · 26/07/2012 11:53

Yay finally a BFP not from a hit and run!!! Congratulations Red! Please remind us what cycle you were on? Was AF regular? Did you have any different symptoms this time before BFP? And lastly did you do anything different this month? Yay xx

redstrawberry · 26/07/2012 12:07

Thanks :)

newbie I have regular 29-31 day cycles - cycle 3 of ttc.
Nope no symptoms before at all - felt exactly like AF was going to arrive. Just tingly boobs day before AF felt real - like electricity and burning on boobs - couldn't touch nipples. I get spotting before AF which I didn't so tested.

What did i do? - ermmm I stressed and obsessed inspite of people telling me to 'relax', sex EOD and every day around OV and took 2000mg EPO. Winkled a lot after sex. drank wine and stressed some more :) Infact I recommend stressing.

Newbie2 · 26/07/2012 12:16

Thanks red. Made me laugh reading your comments. AF hasn't arrived for me yet post pill so I'm still on cycle 1 CD 84. I think having AF would help as then you have a better time of knowing when OV took place. Good to know you stressed cos I'm deffinately stressing :) Hope you don't disappear!

redstrawberry · 26/07/2012 12:27

CD84 ! Thats long newbie - what did the docs say? You have been to see them right? Fx she arrives and your cycles go back to normal. I had some long ones after coming off pill too.

Yes I'll stick around if you dont mind - not made any new friends on the antenatal boards. I am still in shock (a nice one!) to get involved in the threads there.

woody17 · 26/07/2012 12:27

Red I am probably just being stupid but what is winkled? And is it supposed to help conception by doing it after sex?

redstrawberry · 26/07/2012 12:30

winkled came from winkle - its putting your legs up in the air after sex to help the little soldiers move in the right direction.

I used a pillow under the bum and rested legs on headboard for 15-25mins after sex. Not sure if it def helped - but no harm in giving them a little assistance.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 26/07/2012 12:38

mersea sorry about the scan. Hope the dtd like mad works for you.

I am off to my GPs later today, want to find out if two chemical pregnancies in a row is normal and if there is anything I can do to help implantation.

Newbie2 · 26/07/2012 12:39

Red yes I went to docs in June when I thought my on and off cramps were gastritus or IBS related but tests came out negative and doctor says I don't have the right symptoms for IBS so they have to be hormonal related. I only get cramping 2 weeks of the month so now I am thinking it might be prostegen related. Doc said in June come back in two months if no AF. I may go back in August if I get more desperately inpatient if that's possible My Doc would probably prefer to see me in September.

wishfulthinking1 · 26/07/2012 12:39

Ace news red!! Big fat congrats ! X

Newbie2 · 26/07/2012 12:42

Mersea sorry for your scan news. Fingers crossed you won't need the next appointment ;)

RIBS · 26/07/2012 13:12

Hello everyone. Havent been able to catch up properly, but Big fat Congrats to you RED Yey we've got a pregnant lady. Is this the first on this thread?? Like I said, I joined the thread buggered to the lakes, and havent had time to check back in again.

Sorry the scan wasnt what you were hoping for mersea But it may be just the one lucky little follicle you need. God dam you cysts!!

newbie I feel your pain - pre clomid my longest was 92 days. Your head will be fried!

Congrats mrswishful I was thinking of you at the weekend, glad you've had a wonderful day.

when Get to Drs. I dont think they can actually do anything until 3 cp's BUT it wont help to get the ball rolling. One of my friends had 3cp in a row THEN got a sticky one - she's now 3 and a half. Threatening to go to to the Drs often does the trick in general I think.

CD8 here. Not much goign on. Had acupuncture last night and going again next fri. Still on the EPO. When With your CPs did you get any pg symptoms after AF arrived. I had a really metallic taste in my mouth day after af arrived. Never had it before. Long AF and loads of old brown blood (sorry tmi)

kittykatsforever · 26/07/2012 13:45

Whenshewas good luck later, I think going is the right thing, it feels better to be able to take control of our destiny in whatever a small way
Newbie I hang my head in shame moaning about cycle length now, 84 days Jesus id not have kept myself sane!

Chimpette · 26/07/2012 13:54

Congratulations Red, that's awesome news! Grin

Glad you had an amazing day Mrs wishful

I'm back in the ttc game this week, as due to ov in the next few days. I think. Last cycle was shorter than usual so I'm a bit confused with timings. I'll be POAS (hooray!) from today and putting a bit more effort into DTD this time! Only managed twice last cycle, with the novice 'cycle #1' enthusiasm that 'it only takes one sperm.' This time I'm planning a full-on campaign. Poor DH won't know what's hit him!

Neither will my lady bits.... Blush

Newbie2 · 26/07/2012 13:57

kittykat Hya. I've been in denial :) I thought I could sneakily work out my cycles by testing with ovulation sticks and CBFM...not much use without AF's arrival so I've had to slap myself back into reality and except that I'm still in cycle 1. Not easy to do when you watch everyone else moving on though!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 26/07/2012 14:27

Hi RIBS hope you enjoyed the lakes. I went there a month ago for the first time in years, I had forgotten how beautiful it is there. I can't be sure about symptoms with the chem preg. Before af came I think I had more sensitive smell (that was the first symptom I had when pregnant with dd). It had gone by the time af arrived. Thanks for the info on your friend, sounds like there probably isn't anything wrong it is just bad luck.

Thanks for the best wishes wishful will let you know what the dr says. If there is anyway to improve implantation I think we all need to know.

kittykatsforever · 26/07/2012 14:40

Well newbie although opk etc probably won't work I think conventional things like cm checking will, I'm going to keep checking and dtd if I spot fertile cm just incase until af arrives, could the doctor not prescribe a drug to induce it? I've seen some other posts that were given something? X

redstrawberry · 26/07/2012 14:54

Fx your AF arrives soon kittykats and newbie x
