BFP in 2012- a thread for winkling-advice and COD-avoidance!

So... here we are!
In a positive move to avoid monthly heartache this is the thread where we'll ttc in 2012.

"will there be winkling?" of course!
"will there be tinkling?" too right! you filthy buggers
"will there be time in the COD?" probably- but it'll only be short lived!
"will there be BFPs?" YES YES YES!

A pledge! do you think I'm taking this too seriously?
I, wishfulthinking, promise to ttc with all my might. I accept that ttc is a long, drawn out process and I shant allow myself to become too obsessed with the process in 2012. (if I remain in-duffed at new year, however, I reserve the right to be right royally pissed off with life and everyone in general!)

Wishfulthinkng1- ttc numero 1- expecting a sticky BFP on July 31st (and at 28 day intervals thereafter!) Days till wedding - 6!

kiwi 23 days is a short cycle. At least you can concentrate on your interview.

tinyt welcome to the thread, sorry your dh is away for so long. I would still give the opks a try, I know your periods have gone from 28 days to 31 but they don't sound all that irregular, opks will probably work.

Dexidoo booking an all-inclusive holiday sounds like a good idea! We are thinking about booking a holiday to New York around Christmas time if I still haven't fallen pg by October/November.

I think some people also use DF for darling father!

I am having ewcm so thinking that this might be a good time for me to DTD but don't know if it's too close to mc for it to be this. Feeling very confused

Woody I think it can massively vary in everyone, some people say they get ov signs a week later I got opk + a week later then usual, I'd try not to second guess it and take it easy this month, obviously try if that's what you want but try not to try and pigeon hole it into a normal cycle, it's called a wtf one for that reason!

Tiny it's recommended that you start taking folic acid 3 months before TTC, however, if you just start taking it straight away as soon as you start TTC that is OK too.

Just lurking about on some other freds and feeling a bit down that so many people who I was on 'BFP in x month' threads are now all preggers and I'm still here, not preggers and fast approaching the date I would have been due if I hadn't miscarried in March

Hi fatsabutter really sorry to hear that you had a mc. Yes ttc is rubbish - it's not at all what I imagined it would be like. I never thought it would be this difficult. Almost all my friend got pg pretty much straight away (some only dtd once!) but that hasn't been the case for me.

I'm sorry that you are feeling down.

fatas sorry you are feeling . I hate feeling jealous when others get pregnant before me. Most of me is happy for them but some of me is thinking why not me???

Thanks woody and when - I just keep obsessing about my age (compared to all my friends with their recent pregnancies not in general) and the widening age gap between my lovely DS and any possible other DC (and yes I am massively grateful for my amazing DS, and feel more guilty about whinging when I know there are some people who can't have any DCs at all)

Hi all- its MRS wishful now!! Je suis a married woman! Wedding day was amazing, perfect, brilliant- I loved it and looked completely gorgeous!

Just been catching up on the thread. fatas sorry you're feeling blue- I compeletely know what you mean. I feel a bit fraudulent on this thread- and I started the bloody thing! I'm pretending not to obsess, but i am massively! I was due in January before the mc. Im planning a hol in February but it makes me so sad- I should be sitting at home with a baby by then! AF due on Sunday- am sure she'll arrive- when i was pg last time I had v. Bad implantation cramps in the week leading up to BFp, this week Ive got absolutely nothing. Rubbish! (someone come on and tell me that they had cramps with one pg and not with another!!)

But Ah well, at least if I conceive in August it'll be a bone fide honeymoon baby- check me out trying to stay all positive!!

So, fill me in on what's going on- who's on day what? I want to be back in the loop again! Has everyone else buggered off to the August thread?

I think I'm about cd-1 as am having spotting +++ pre-AF (as long as its not light AF which would mean I have had my 2nd 24 day cycle in a row - is that a bad thing??)

What are your cycles normally like? I would have thought if you regularly had short ish 24 day cycles then that's ok (probably wouldn't want them any shorter though) if your cycles are irregular though, that can be a pain in the ass. I've read that epo can regulate cycles, but the read on August thread that winkle thought her v. Long cycle could have been caused by epo, so not sure whether or not to avoid it!

How long do you normally spot for before af arrives properly?

Awww congratulations mrswishful! Glad you had a fabulous day. Don't think you missed anything much it's been relatively quiet around here the last few days. I'm 2wwing too, AF due Monday-ish. Had some mild bloating/cramping this week and a touch of thrush (nice) but nothing really out of the ordinary (except the thrush obv!)

fatas sorry you're feeling down this TTC lark is nothing if not frustrating. If AF is on its way in for you ten I suggest consoling yourself with chocolate and wine!

Can be about 3 days and it started yesterday... I usually have 28 days cycles - before DS they were anything from 28-35 days!! Much less now but never 24!! If I spot for 3-4 days now then maybe not too concerning, so am going to ignore it all an hope we get to dtd plenty this month!! Need a BFP ASAP!
