BFP in 2012- a thread for winkling-advice and COD-avoidance!

So... here we are!
In a positive move to avoid monthly heartache this is the thread where we'll ttc in 2012.

"will there be winkling?" of course!
"will there be tinkling?" too right! you filthy buggers
"will there be time in the COD?" probably- but it'll only be short lived!
"will there be BFPs?" YES YES YES!

A pledge! do you think I'm taking this too seriously?
I, wishfulthinking, promise to ttc with all my might. I accept that ttc is a long, drawn out process and I shant allow myself to become too obsessed with the process in 2012. (if I remain in-duffed at new year, however, I reserve the right to be right royally pissed off with life and everyone in general!)

Who's with me?

Wishfulthinkng1- ttc numero 1- expecting a sticky BFP on July 31st (and at 28 day intervals thereafter!) Days till wedding - 6!

Xxx

Thanks red. Trying to be fairly relaxed about it in the sense of not stressing hubby out too much or talking about it as we need to keep dtd eodish for the next 2 weeks to cover all possible fertile periods! Don't wanna tire him out or make him feel like its a chore too soon!!

KickTheGuru · 07/08/2012 21:09

I appear to be developing a food allergy as well :(

FFS

Kittenkatzen · 07/08/2012 21:27

Ah kick, it never rains but it pours Sad

KickTheGuru · 07/08/2012 21:36

How do you go from being super fit and healthy to someone who turns into Rubber-Lipped-Lady whenever you eat restaurant food??

My body HATES me.

I think it's got to do with the diabetes though. I reckon the sudden autoimmune response raises other things and this has come out as a sudden allergy...

winkle2 · 07/08/2012 22:59

:( kick

Currently winkling Grin

Got a good feeling about this month :)

KickTheGuru · 07/08/2012 23:02

Oooh fingers crossed winkle

My DH asked if I fancy it but I had to have a few antihistamines so am now a bit sleepy. Grin

winkle2 · 07/08/2012 23:19

Note to self - don't sneeze whilst winkling. It defeats the object Grin

KickTheGuru · 07/08/2012 23:20

MENTAL IMAGE Shock

Kittenkatzen · 08/08/2012 07:21

Hahaha winkle GrinGrin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 08/08/2012 07:50

Sorry about the food allergy kick

Grin at winkle sneezing

redstrawberry · 08/08/2012 08:36

hope you feeling better kick

haha winkle difficult not to get a mental image of that!

I am still testing -ve on the OV sticks. Just curious about the reliability of the Amazon cheapies - anyone have any experiences with these? Wonder if I should have invested in the clearblue ones?

winkle2 · 08/08/2012 08:46

Hehe!

Red I only ever used the digi ones because I used the lines one the first month and i couldn't bear trying to interpret the lines!

DulcetMoans · 08/08/2012 09:00

Yeah, I got some cheapie line ones last month red and I wasn't a fan. Only used a handful before I game up. This month its the cb so much more black and white but then I am not paying for it so not sure I would feel the same if I was paying £20 a box or whatever they are.

That was a lovely visual winkle! haha. I hope you managed to clench!

KickTheGuru · 08/08/2012 09:52

Yeh our first few months we tried the cheapies but I have no idea.

Ever since then, I've used the clear blue ones. No interpretation required - it either smiles or doesn't

Also, it says to not use FMU. I don't think I've ever had a smiley at FMU? Only ever midday (twice) and at 9pm at night once on the most TEENY amount of pee.

RIBS · 08/08/2012 10:10

Haha Winkle. Hope u clenched and your not wiping it off the headboard at the mo!

@red. Iv been using the amazon cheapies for ages. No prob for me. I usually pee on them when I get home about half 5ish. Try to have last pee about 2ish and cross legs at wk. I usually get a faint line for a day or 2 then a strong one then it fades. When your cycle is ridiculously long, u just can't afford 2 use the pricey ones.

woody17 · 08/08/2012 10:10

Well got another -ve ov stick today. Didn't end up dtd last night - DH was too tired. Stressing now that I've missed it. But dtd wed, fri, sat, sun, mon and will do today so hopefully have caught it.

KickTheGuru · 08/08/2012 10:17

woody No point in stressing. If it's there, it's there and if not, there is always next month :)

My problem with anything that needs interpretation is that I will interpret it however I want. Even my DH said we are going to use digital CB tests and if they "not pregnant", then that's it

KickTheGuru · 08/08/2012 10:18

I should be cleaning the house today. NO distractions, please! Grin

Tinytwinkles · 08/08/2012 10:27

I use the cheapies as well. I got a +ve once and the next day -ve Confused so i just DTD EOD and hope for the best.....

woody17 · 08/08/2012 10:35

Yep, you are right kick and if Im not pg, there are a few more things I'll be able to do when we go to Australia in just under 2 weeks although i'd much rather be pregnant

Enjoy the cleaning kick I'm meant to be doing that today as well but so far have been on here, watched the midwife programme from last night and walked the dog!

KickTheGuru · 08/08/2012 10:53

I am having an impatient 2ww. I am not symptom spotting (hurrah! I finally believe myself that there are none!) but I am DESPERATE to pee on a stick.

My boobs are starting to feel a bit tender so I am definitely on the right side of ovulation. It's nice to pinpoint those things - to understand that they aren't symptoms but they are symptoms of a machine that is just kicking into a different drive and preparing for a different phase

Kittenkatzen · 08/08/2012 11:01

I've stayed away from sticks of all kinds in an attempt to not become obsessed, but you all seem to be using them and I'm feeling left out the lure....hmmm....

kick and woody when you're done cleaning your own houses if you could just pop round and do mine please, there's a love WinkGrin

KickTheGuru · 08/08/2012 11:04

kitten To be honest, we bought these sticks like...AGES ago and I was just using them this month to basically throw them away. My DH still thinks they're rubbish (probably especially after he got yelled at for "not making me pregnant" on day 2 after the surge).

I have 4 or 5 left (probably 3 now) from the original batch so will use them next month until I get a smiley...or not. No stress though. No point in stressing. Yet

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 08/08/2012 11:09

kick I am glad you have been reminding me there are no symptoms early on. I am 6dpo and have been shattered with sore boobs since 3dpo. I keep getting my hopes up but then am reminded that the high levels of progesterone in the 2ww make you tired and give you sore boobs.

I need to clean my house but I think I need sleep more.

KickTheGuru · 08/08/2012 11:21

I need to clean my house and hide in it. I feel quite tired of rushing about and like you...I feel shattered.

I hate it when my DH gets all positive about fertilization. I'm sure we've not had it this month and he sure we have. I feel he has further to fall then. How do your DH's react every month?
