BFP in 2012- a thread for winkling-advice and COD-avoidance!

So... here we are!
In a positive move to avoid monthly heartache this is the thread where we'll ttc in 2012.

"will there be winkling?" of course!
"will there be tinkling?" too right! you filthy buggers
"will there be time in the COD?" probably- but it'll only be short lived!
"will there be BFPs?" YES YES YES!

A pledge! do you think I'm taking this too seriously?
I, wishfulthinking, promise to ttc with all my might. I accept that ttc is a long, drawn out process and I shant allow myself to become too obsessed with the process in 2012. (if I remain in-duffed at new year, however, I reserve the right to be right royally pissed off with life and everyone in general!)

Wishfulthinkng1- ttc numero 1- expecting a sticky BFP on July 31st (and at 28 day intervals thereafter!) Days till wedding - 6!

This is probably a stupid question but how do you know exactly which day you ovulate?

woody You don't. Hence shagging every day for 5 days (min) after you get your surge.

Morning all! I missed my diabetic preconception clinic appointment yesterday. I had it stuck in my head for the 9th - not the 6th :(

Oh well. Not like we're not trying.

I am also in the 2ww now but I am not convinced I've been fertilized

Hi woody kicks right you don't really know. I am guessing at mine ov date.

I got a positive opk on Tues 31st and Wed 1st Aug. You are meant to ovulate 12-48 hours after the surge (apparently the most common is 36 hours). I am guessing I ovulated about 24/36 hours after my surge which would be sometime on Thursday 2nd Aug.

AND that's if nothing throws it off - so no PCOS, no stress, no delays etc etc else your body won't drop the egg and you'll just get the surge and everything again through the month!

I had a dream we all met up for drinks and someone did something CLEARLY funny that I can't remember right now and we were all laughing hysterically.

I actually WOKE myself up from laughing.

Then lay in bed semi-awake and kept chuckling to myself.

I could do with a laugh right now - two pregnanacy announcements already today.

Ok thanks all. So after +ve ov stick yesterday and then a -ve today, that means I've had my surge and should try and dtd every day this week?

OMG, whenshe we truly are twins - I got my +ve OPK on 31/7 (but didn't test again, doh!). DTD on Tues and Weds and Sat so covered, I hope!

That seems to be the safe option woody. When I got preg in Jan, I got my smiley on a Thurs and DTD on Thurs + Fri but not again until the next week...

Woody - you should start DTD the day you get the surge and pretty much every day thereafter.

The reason you keep checking is that you can miss the egg if say...your surge lasts 48 hours and the egg potentially drops on day 3 - you will miss it if you only DTD on the first day you get your surge...

But GET HUMPING!

Ok thanks - we've done the deed pretty much ed since Friday (and at least eod for a fortnight before that) so will continue aiming to dtd every day. Ill keep testing with the ov sticks.

So I'm not quite on the 2ww yet, am I?

Nope not quite. I'd give it three more days including today then go back to EOD from what does that make it...Friday

3rd announcement of the day and it's not even 12 noon. Do I have to look at more scan pictures? P**s off, all of you. Not really, obviously. Well, apart from the one who conceived on Cycle 1 (again).

I think the Jubilee Bank Holiday is to blame for the rush. Damn the Queen and her long reign.

Fb can be very annoying. I sometimes think people spend more time putting things on fb than actually living their lives!

Most of my friends are still either just only getting married now or career people.

Well, I am at work and we're all used to putting on a face of sorts there, aren't we? One friend did come over and tell me to talk to her if I felt upset which helped. On the whole, (most) people are pretty nice, aren't they? (Apart from me who still wishes bad things for them (but not their unborn)).

Must stop reading the Gary Barlow news; too sad.

Ohhhhh the fb pregnancies drive me scatty - I have one 'friend' who updates literally every single day, sometimes twice just to say what her days are, how excited she is, isn't she just the luckiest person alive.....argh STFU . And not to mention all the people with those godawful counter thingies. Yes it's lovely for them all, but really, does the WHOLE WORLD need to know?!

kick my bf and i are the only ones out of our group of friends not have families yet. We are also the only ones to have been divorced . Those are out of London friends though - work/City friends do seem to start much later.
