BFP in 2012- a thread for winkling-advice and COD-avoidance!

wishfulthinking1 · 15/07/2012 14:37

So... here we are!
In a positive move to avoid monthly heartache this is the thread where we'll ttc in 2012.

"will there be winkling?" of course!
"will there be tinkling?" too right! you filthy buggers
"will there be time in the COD?" probably- but it'll only be short lived!
"will there be BFPs?" YES YES YES!

A pledge! do you think I'm taking this too seriously?
I, wishfulthinking, promise to ttc with all my might. I accept that ttc is a long, drawn out process and I shant allow myself to become too obsessed with the process in 2012. (if I remain in-duffed at new year, however, I reserve the right to be right royally pissed off with life and everyone in general!)

Who's with me?

Wishfulthinkng1- ttc numero 1- expecting a sticky BFP on July 31st (and at 28 day intervals thereafter!) Days till wedding - 6!

Xxx

Oh wishful so pleased for you, we all predicted a honeymoon baby for you didn't we and I bet it feels better now knowing you had that month after mc break!!
My af was due a week ago, I was still in cycle 2 like I said to you about it maybe being late, just scared as to why I'm so late with such a faint line x

wishfulthinking1 · 29/07/2012 08:03

Thanks kitty, of course I remember you saying now. Which tests are you using? Perhaps if still the same tomorrow you could go to docs for blood tests- just to confirm what's going on? X

Thanks for the explanation on the chemical pregnancy. I understand now that its a very early miscarriage. I hope red is ok. Must be really hard to deal with.

Newbie2 · 29/07/2012 08:20

Also heart goes out to Red, hope you are being looked after Thanks

Hi to everyone else TTC, I am on the list soon but feel AF on the way, just don't want to admit it I've been a lurker on this thread for the most part as don't have much knowledge of TTC or useful advice to offer for that matter, still wishing you all lots of luck though!

redstrawberry · 29/07/2012 10:12

wishful and kitty I'm genuinely very happy for you both! A wee bit Envy infant a lot of Envy but really hoping they are sticky beans and you have an uneventful nine months xx

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 10:29

Thankyou everyone, whenshewas no idea when I ovd this month, had alot of mixed signals but had EWCM on cd22+23 and dtd cd22 I guess it could have happened a few days after that even but cd39 today of a usual 25-32 cycle so very strange hence my nervousness and reluctance to get to excited
Thankyou red I know it must be really hard to read given what's gone on hence why I didn't say anything yesterday or put on the July thread it means alot and you will get your bfp soon xx

Dexidoo · 29/07/2012 11:17

Massive congratulations kitty and wishful!!

My resolve broke and I did a FRER this morning. Predictably BFN on 10dpo. In my defence I have had odd pulling sensations across my pelvis on and off 48h - this happened the week leading up to my BFP last time. Keeping fingers crossed it's just too early

swimmingnotdrowning · 29/07/2012 12:08

It's as we'll we are not in a real room - can you imagine?! Liking the low pressure approach so am going to take advantage of the freedom not to join the list.

red thinking of you x

swimmingnotdrowning · 29/07/2012 12:13

And congratulations wishful and kitty!

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 12:29

Fx Dexi, I had those strange pulling and pinches last weekend and tested bfn so there's still hope as its taken a week later for me

winkle2 · 29/07/2012 15:55

Congratulations kitty and wishful!

DulcetMoans · 29/07/2012 16:11

Some congratulations finally!! Nice one ladies.

So sorry for red though. Here's hoping for a BFP soon from you.

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 18:01

Feeling very wobley and need hand holding, I know I've got a fain line but I've looked at both sticks and it's not gone darker in a day plus just stupidly poas opk to see if + as always has before when pg and it's neg, I'm really confused and just dont think its not going to end well, dh just shouted at me for being stupid worrying before something does but I feel like I can't even get over the first hurdle of a bfp
Sorry for moaning Sad

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 18:03

Firstly, the OPK is NOT going to pick up pregnancy hormones and it's not a reliable picker-upper-of-pregnancy-hormones so throw that one away and ignore it. If you could reliably use an OPK for HCG, they would sell those as a two-in-one and voila. They don't, therefore don't rely on that.

Secondly, HCG increases in strength every 2 days. If after a week, AF has not arrived and the line hasn't gotten stronger, you can go for a blood test. Sometimes, HCG does just increase slower in some ladies.

It's not worth a stress just yet.

When is AF due?
