BFP in 2012- a thread for winkling-advice and COD-avoidance!

wishfulthinking1 · 15/07/2012 14:37

So... here we are!
In a positive move to avoid monthly heartache this is the thread where we'll ttc in 2012.

"will there be winkling?" of course!
"will there be tinkling?" too right! you filthy buggers
"will there be time in the COD?" probably- but it'll only be short lived!
"will there be BFPs?" YES YES YES!

A pledge! do you think I'm taking this too seriously?
I, wishfulthinking, promise to ttc with all my might. I accept that ttc is a long, drawn out process and I shant allow myself to become too obsessed with the process in 2012. (if I remain in-duffed at new year, however, I reserve the right to be right royally pissed off with life and everyone in general!)

Who's with me?

Wishfulthinkng1- ttc numero 1- expecting a sticky BFP on July 31st (and at 28 day intervals thereafter!) Days till wedding - 6!

Xxx

Thanks kick sorry just so bloody hormonal, af was due a week ago that's why I'm so bloody confused and I guess poor red, I started a thread asking if anyone else had had late positives and someone had put they had 2 faint lines and had had cp, I've never been in this kind of situation before when I've tested pos its been the 3+ weeks cb pos!!

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 19:14

I need to be a downer but I've been late with a positive and it's been a cp as well. The other times I've been late and done a CB Digi and it's been negative, it's not been positive, if you know what I mean :(

But you're a week late and you've had two non-squinting, clear-as-day positives? When did you have the positives and have you done a subsequent test (apart from the digi?). I am a firm believer that the digi is a bit less sensitive.

bodi · 29/07/2012 19:15

hurrah for kitty and wishful - fingers crossed for you guys, but i am very excited.

kick - i am personally a big fan of the sane advice and pragmatic approach.

I still don't know what's going on with my cycle but have decided to stop stressing and monitoring everything. Sign me up for the relaxed, shagtastic approach.

Red - makesure you do something to treat yourself when you're feeling up to it!

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 19:49

Hi kick sorry I've confused you abit
I've only done 2 tests, one sat morn one this morn both with fmu, you can see the lines, I've had the nod off dh and mum but they are very very faint, there's not much of an increase in colour between sat and sun, I havnt done a digi yet as I think they are less sensitive and if its faint on a frer I was going to give it a few days, I did the opk- don't ask me why tonight which was neg
What I ment with the digi is that when I was pregnant before I've never tested early and just got the 3+ straight away so I've never had a faint + especially this long into a cycle

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 19:50

Thanks for taking the time btw to humor the mermerings of a clearly mad women!

winkle2 · 29/07/2012 19:53

Kick if you're late it should show on the digi?

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 20:01

Yep agree with winkle that if you're a week late, it should definitely show up on the digi. I thought perhaps you were closer to your AF (on the before AF side) but I think a week late is a reliable indicator of pregnancy on any tests.

Can you do a digi? Sorry I am so eager to understand that I may be over-reading your posts and asking the same question a couple times.

Were your tests the same brand?

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 20:06

I have got a digi but hate wasting money lol
The two tests I've done we're frer and the tests were neg all last week etc I've only continued doing them every 5 days or so as still no af, I had a + opk on day 15 but then EWCM on cd 22+23 so dtd last time cd22 now cd39
I realise they should be positive a week after im due that's why I'm concerned I only got this faint line a week after expected af

Newbie2 · 29/07/2012 20:10

kitty deffinately buy a digi in the morning! I think by now anytime of day urine would pick it up (aslong as its not diluted).

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 20:42

Yeh agree with Newbie

It will show up by now on the digi. You shouldn't need to worry about FMU or anything

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 20:57

Sorry think the wires have been crossed here with people- yes I am a week late, I realise that at this point normally you would get a positive on any test at any time, my thing is I've had negative tests up until Saturday ( a week late) then only very very faint lines with a frer the MOST sensitive test so I dont think a digi would say yes and I think I'd be more confused

winkle2 · 29/07/2012 21:02

I meant kitty! Sorry!

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 21:10

Maybe you OVed later than you thought?

Either way, HCG doubles in your system every second day.

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 21:15

Think I will leave it tomorrow then and test Tuesday morning with a digi, if it's progressing like it should I should get an answer by then

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 21:17

And I do think ov was late just didn't realise it could be that late and work?!

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 21:35

Yep that's a plan. Else buy the normal tests as well and test in the morning?

THen do the digi on Tuesday?

Mersea · 29/07/2012 22:05

Great news wishful and I hope kitty you get the result in a few days that you need to put your mind at rest. I cannot offer any advice on the testing as I only did one test when I was pg before and then had a mc.

I am now cd17 and already starting to feel the familiar cramps of af, they start pretty much straight after I ov on about day 14, which can't be right surely? Also although I took EPO from cd1-12 I still had no EWCM I know the clomid can muck this up but I was hoping the EPO would help. This is all very frustrating!!

woody17 · 29/07/2012 22:15

kittykatsforever I hope that you get a 'stronger' line soon. I've only been pg once (and that ended in a mc) but initially the lines I was getting were incredibly faint and this was after AF was due. The gradually got stronger and stronger.

I am really confused - have been having quite a lot of cm - it's been very slippery and watery. Yesterday I had a tiny amount of pinky tinged cm and then a bit later when I wiped it was a bit browny. Have been having cramps and twinges. But up until Sat morning I was getting +ve preg tests (although incredible faint lines - almost invisible) so I just don't know what's going on.

Does anyone have any ideas?

swimmingnotdrowning · 29/07/2012 22:41

woody I am not sure what that might mean but kick will have an idea (she seems not only to have read loads of medically reliable stuff but also to have a brain that remembers and can translate it into plain English for the rest of us!).

mersea how long have you been on clomid? Did you have to get a referral to get it or did GP prescribe it?

And is EPO evening primrose oil? And does it affect CM? How reliably? I used to take a multivitamin with evening primrose but stopped when we started TTC at the start of the year because I read that it isn't recommend when TTC. Any advice?

redstrawberry · 29/07/2012 22:56

kitty hope the digi on tue does the trick! I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Thanks bodi - I had a big slice of cheesecake today, went for a long drive with DH and ended up in a random but lovely village. Feeling better and less mopey.

Weirdly still have tingly boobs and tugging down there. Period has stopped only lasted 2 days. I have some crazy moments where I wonder if I'm still pregnant...perhaps need to burst the bubble and finally admit its gone.

Thinking of getting some conceive plus for August. Opks are on their way!

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 23:02

red Hmmmm have you done another test since?

woody Keep an eye on it. Pink CM is normally a sign of AF but you never know.

KickTheGuru · 29/07/2012 23:03

swimming EPO increases CM. You take it from CD1 to OV an then stop. It's bad because post-OV, it can cause contractions so you don't want to be taking it if you're about to conceive.

But it helps protect spermie sperm on their ride up the fallopian tubes and protects them from the dry and hostile environment...

Kittenkatzen · 30/07/2012 07:32

Grin at dry and hostile environment - sounds like something DH said to me yesterday when I was being grumpy and hormonal Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 30/07/2012 08:00

Hi kitty hope you are feeling ok today, I have got my fingers crossed for you.

kittykatsforever · 30/07/2012 08:47

Thanks whenshewas I'm feeling abit less crazy but that's because I decided not to test today before work, couldn't face analysing is it darker or getting upset if it's gone, I will test tomorrow as I'm off and can deal with results... Still no af though cd 40!!
