so many codes to learn, can you buy a mumsnet phrase/code book ?

wilderumpus · 18/07/2012 17:56

ooh one I am impressed! break out! run! no-one will have known will they.

yes guru does have a huge following and was asked to have that name! is bonkers, while there is absolutely room for knowledge dogmatic approaches help no-one. science and ttc are uncomfortable bedfellows. if anyone challenges her though she seems to deliberately misunderstand them or repeat 'there are no symptoms'

funny thing was though that she started her no sticks thread then got ill and left and so did everyone else, and then on the later ttc thread they confessed relief that they didn't have to follow her dtd eod approach any more. And one of them dared to get pg by just shagging at the behest of a pos opk!

hello vicky can I help at all?!

ChuckleMonster · 18/07/2012 18:49

Just a quick bob in as I have 80 exam papers to mark before Friday but am in awe of your flee one, wonder if it would work for me when I have my horrible year 11s tomorrow??!

Hello Vicky - there is a 'acronyms' link at the top of the page that tells you what all the funny DH/DTD/AF type stuff means.

Your poor little boy wilde, I hope your new playgroup is better. All of ours have finished for the holidays now so we wont be going anywhere till September either!

Sorry about the symptoms during AF boo - that must mess with your head. And to be fair, its just as likely that you are getting pg symptoms during AF as it was that a newly fertilised egg was making my knees ache at 2dpo!!!

Cant believe that this Guru was encouraged to pick that as a name. Who? Why? When? WHY????

booboomonster · 18/07/2012 21:27

This is making me crack up... a Guru... with followers.... on Mumsnet! oh purlease! I'm with chuckle - why why why?!?

wild it is bizarre when you realise your friends kids aren't that nice... but usually it is a phase so fingers crossed he will improve. But always good to widen your social circle anyway! I am finding increasingly that I don't know anyone who is also free on my (slightly strange) days off. If we do get to have another baby I think I might try and meet some new mums...

chuckle are we to assume no AF yet? !

booboomonster · 18/07/2012 21:29

sorry about lack of apostrophes above! Also - wild yes what you say about surge makes total sense (I had a feeling I didn't read it properly - was skim reading!).

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 18/07/2012 23:34

Ladies, Guru would lurve this. I poas'd this evening and got a neg opk, we dtd, went to dinner with friends, during dinner I felt an ovary twinge for a bit, came home about 3 hours later, I poas'd again and the line's coming on. I'm going to do a middle of the night poas. OH won't be able to do a morning swi so the earliest we'd muster would be 6 or 7 tomorrow night. Fx! I've never continued poas'ing after getting a pos opk but I will out of interest this month just see how long it lasts.

(Ooh, I never the saw the no sticks thread - or if I did then I just new it wasn't for me!)

Ooh, Poor Chuckle. And Boo, terrible omission Wink!!!

Anyway, I'm back in the game re 2ww, terrible how these mood swings can just totally undermine me sometimes.

G'night!

ChuckleMonster · 19/07/2012 06:58

Aaaassssrrrrggghh- BFP this morning. Definitely a line, pale and pasty (just like its mommie) but there. Aaaarrrrrggghhhhhhhhh. I am ridiculously excited and shitting it in equal measure. I knew my knees couldn't hurt that much for no reason......

ChuckleMonster · 19/07/2012 06:59

Ps I love the middle of the night stick peeing one!!

Sheldonella · 19/07/2012 07:17

Yaaaaay chuckle :)

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 19/07/2012 09:05

Omg chuckle!!!!!!!! Omg omg omg!!!! Yay!!!

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 19/07/2012 09:17

standing at a bus stop smiling for you chuckle!

ChuckleMonster · 19/07/2012 10:15

Grin Grin Grin

All my classes are wondering whats going on today as I am in such a good mood (thats unusual!!)

I am almost doubting myself now, I am sure it was a BFP, and DH (who is a glass half empty kind of man when it comes to HPT!) said it was definatley BFP, but it just doesnt feel real. I am starving though, and I am craving McDonalds........

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 10:46

a WOOTY! congratulations chuckle! Ah HA I am scaring myself with my chart interpretations ladies Wink I think I should maybe have a nickname... like Guru. Or overlord? WildeOverlord. Although saying that, all the potential followers on my thread are all getting pregnant?!

AHAHAHA and I always want McD's when am preggo! you are most definitely with child :)

go one and am delighted that you are coming over to the 2ww with me :) Am 4dpo and have no symptoms to report at all. I don't think this is my month for some rreason but am delighted the pms is holding itself at bay not thinking at all that no symptoms could mean am pg

boo can't be arsed to widen social circle as moving hundreds of miles away in Nov... and it is a phase definitely but it has been going on for a year and is getting worse and in the meantime my son is collateral damage. Tbh my friend just doesn't parent very well Blush

OP posts:
wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 10:57

can I just be utterly shallow and announce proudly that I am wearing leggings today because my shredding has toned up my thighs and bum! I can wear leggings! This was a goal I wanted for getting pg. I have always envied pg women who can chill out in leggings and nice tops and would rather like that look for myself.

I know, is weird Blush jeans are uncomfy in pg though!!

In an aside, my muffin tops have gone too - in 22 days! Woah.

OP posts:
ChuckleMonster · 19/07/2012 12:29

Thanks wilde, you are a true guru ! Well done on being all toned. Leggings are so comfy, and no muffin top. Hurrah. Have a big mac as a celebratory treat!!

I am already stressing...its going to be a long, long 9 months (hopefully!!)

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 12:57

ug I am way too passive aggressive much of a socialist to be a guru :)

chuckle you have a duty to sum up your dtd and consequent conception efforts for me

OP posts:
ChuckleMonster · 19/07/2012 13:19

We dtd night of positive opk and night after and not at all the week before or week after. Was telling DH off last night for our shoddy attempts this month!!

I need relaxation tips please ladies, I think DH will throttle me before long if I don't chill out.

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 13:43

thanks for that :) Gives me hope that we definitely did dtd at a good time then, rest is up to luck.

Why are you antsy chuck? are you fretting about mc? is there any reason to fret? chat away, am working till 4pm which means I pop in a LOT to distract myself :)

so bloody excited though, finish work at 4pm then get my DS which I am really excited about as he is been in childcare ALL week, which he has never done before and is hard on both of us! I have his delicious self all day tomorrow all to myself, and then on sat we are going to the lake district to stay in a lovely cottage with my bezzy and her DH and DD. They live a million miles away so we never get to see each other; her DD is 9 mths and I have only met her once! And she hasn't seen my DS for 1.5 years?! and they two mini-us's have never met. Am wetting myself with excitement and anticipation of chats, laughs, relaxation and wine. back on Monday and then will be a happy 8dpo! whee!

OP posts:
ChuckleMonster · 19/07/2012 13:51

Yes, worrying about mc. DH told me not to get too excited this morning as we have been here twice already this year :(

I am convinced that I have seen some cm with the slightest brown tinge today and while I know it could be something or nothing (or my imagination) I can't help but stress. i do feel pregnant now though....its just such a hard process. Stress ttc and then stress of early pregnancy.. We love it really though don't we.

Your weekend sounds lovely, I hope you get some nice weather so you can get out and about :)

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 13:58

aw chuckle. and then we worry about our babies and cot death and being run over and being bullied and nightmares and on and on and on!

DON'T worry about the brown cm, even if it existed. it could so easily be from implantation and it is really common to have some sort of spotting in early pg and most people have happy endings. Two mcs in one year though, that would definitely fuck with my head so if you want to talk or whine or fret, just come here and we will look after you!

Does it help to sort of think how you feel in yourself? Like, with my mc pg it felt all wrong, my symptoms were weird and it just didn't feel like a 'nice' pg like with DS. When it all went wrong I was devastated but in a way it made sense. With my next pg I really hope I can 'feel' that it is ok. I really do believe in that. [wacko hippy emoticon] Grin

OP posts:
Sheldonella · 19/07/2012 14:14

I think your should namechange wilde :) Your trip sounds lovely, I love the lake district. Well done on the leggings, I'm v. jealous as I never managed to tone up and now feel very fat.
chuckle I know how you feel, I'm so worried and just want to be in the system but no docs until the end of next week. I had the brown spotting too but it hasn't come back and I feel sicker by the day. I'm guessing this is a good sign but you wouldn't think it with the way I keep complaining Blush How are you getting on at work? I have no concentration at all.

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 14:18

have you guys seen the innocent new thread that asks what magic tonics/tricks anyone might suggest to try and concieve?! It will drive the myth busters demented Grin someone says about how her DH drank cough syrup so that might work! hehehe!

[sits back and waits for fireworks]

sorry you are worried too sheldon

OP posts:
booboomonster · 19/07/2012 15:06

Woo hoo congrats Chuckle...! I knew it, what with no AF! (not really but humour me). I hope this is going to be a lucky thread and soon we will all be updiffed! I don't think a bit of brown spotting is a problem anyway, Chuckle, even if you did see it. Though your methods are cheering - so it doesn't have to be EOD after all Grin!!

one well done for pos ov stick! And taking action! Let's hope you can follow the chuckle model of getting up the duff.

wild you are a walking, well, talking in our case, advert for shred! I am almost tempted! I think it could work post mat for me (she says hopefully).

chuckle have no relaxation tips but I need some too for the 2ww.

Sheldon love your name, meant to say before, glad you are ok. IT is going to be worrying but I guess you have to just hope for the best and the further you get along, the better.

I have decided it really doesn't matter when I get pg, so I just need to chill out about it. There is a slight anxiety that I have gotten too old... but on the other hand I come from a long line of late menopausers, and late babies, so that's gotta help? I keep thinking to myself - the longer it takes the bigger the gap between DD2 and DC3, and therefore the easier it will be!

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 19/07/2012 18:05

WildOverLord - You have to at least temporarily name change and go back to that thread and post something!!! (that gave me a real giggle!). Well done re the leggings! I hate jeans. Sadly for me, after growing out of one of my last two work appropriate items, I have finally decided to do a bit of dieting. Rice veg and meat/fish for me for the next little while. Sad

"Have a big mac as a celbratory treat"!!! I can hear your happiness, so wonderful! Don't worry about the need to chill Chuckle, you are about to become super exhausted. And the odds are in your favour, very few people have three mc's in a row. I know a very brave and amazing woman who was 3rd time pg after 2 mc's, I was astonished by her ability to forge ahead with the 3rd, she has a lovely little girl now. You are brave too Chuckle. Share your worries, and your current symptoms, when you say you feel pg, what do you feel?

What lovely weekend plans Wild! The weather is just due to turn back to summer, what great timing!

Hello Sheldonella! Glad to hear you're feeling sicker! (You too are brave).

The pos opk never came, or hasn't arrived yet, today's cd 13/14, so am not hopeful, but we will dtd tonight again, and I'll keep testing (thankfully I bought a pack of 40! Shock) I think my woohoo knows it has other concerns at the moment Sad.
