Cheese, you can get ewcm a few times throughout your cycle. For me I get it before ov and before my period.

Congratulations Woody on your bfn. As far as I know it's taken everyone on here a different amount of time. FX it's quick!

Have either of you used opks? They work for me but not for everyone. It's how I know I tend to get ewcm two days before ovulating. You can get really sensitive really cheap ones on line, which is good as it means you can test two or three times a day wihtout worrying abou the cost.

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 03/08/2012 14:51

one my cheapy opk pack arrived today, ordered online on Sunday evening. I did use the clear blue fertility monitor when ttc ds, and it worked IMHO but it took a few months to get the ovulation date right. Hoping the cheap opk will confirm when I think I'm ovulating, back up plan is to dtd every day from cd 5 onwards Wink

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 03/08/2012 14:53

Tmi alert, but DH came home earlier today, 'for lunch' .... Going to do one of my opk tests once I get up off the sofa Grin

wilderumpus · 03/08/2012 17:26

my opks arrived today too :) Oh I miss pissing on sticks.

hurrah for lunch cheese. damn you but I need a toasty for my tea but have only brown bread. hmmph. Oh and I only get EWCM for about 5 days before I ov.

Dh and Ds are away for four whole days. I have stayed behind so I can work. I am bereft! is good though as will totally take my mind of ttc as I have no one to 'have lunch' with... then DH will arrive back in time for sex week. hurrah.

congrats woody on your bfn :) i remember being so pleased to see mine. Ov can be any time, or have already happened. watch your fertile signs and just shag a lot, anything goes in the WTF cycle!

Haha sex week! Love the expression!! My sex week starts on the tenth. Dh seems very excited!! Probably cuz he's been getting non lately!!
Woo hoo for a bfn woody!!

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 03/08/2012 20:29

Wow, how many of us are there now counting down to sex week? Seems like loads! I've been ov'ing late so might not be for another 13 days myself. Just as well, this is THE WORST COLD EVER, every day I feel worse, I'm probably dying, in some really slow and disappointing way, probably a sneeze will take me out on one of my painfully weak searches for a change of scenery. OH will come home to a pile of used hankies, not realising I'm lying there dead underneath them, or worse, he'll know I'm there but be so repulsed he will just run away, and as I'll be lying there all dead and everything I will never get to ttc again....

Hope the time is good/ok without your DH/S Wild!

wilderumpus · 03/08/2012 20:40

I'm drinking beer one. I did feel sad but now I feel quite fine and looking forward to a full night's sleep, and a lie in :)

I am 5 days from my sex week! TBH because we are stressed, busy, tired and late-to-bed peeps we don't really make time to dtd so having baby sex is just lovely! Am glad it isn't a chore (yet). And I am terrible cycle wise, after I have ov'ed I have NO libido?! Is nature i know, but does make me feel like DH must feel most used and abused... !

Poor you having such a nasty cold one! Don't go dying under your hankies. That snot the way to go. (fnar, chortle) AND not that good for ttc Wink have you got AF then? Did you make an announcement I missed? Retrospective :( and wooo for shiny new cycle with baybee written ALL over it :)

OP posts:
Haylebop12 · 03/08/2012 20:57

Wilde, sounds like our sex weeks are very similar as mine starts in 7 days!

wilderumpus · 03/08/2012 21:01

ooh I like having cycle buddies :) am just hoping my ov date isn't messed up from the CP... i don't think it will but at the same time I do feel off, like I have sore boobs and crampy pains which I really shouldn't do in this stage of the cycle. I feel like I do post-ov already.

arf.

Haylebop12 · 03/08/2012 21:16

Oh dear, tbh I've never really thought too much into TTC because dd1 was not planned. Dc2 was kind of, it was a "if it happens it happens" but secretly wishing it happened first cycle after depo which it did.
Now I want to get pg first cycle again but not sure if it'll be that easy this time?
I tend to be regular so reckon I've got it worked out. I'm not gonna do any of those ovu sticks but just hope in pg by Xmas?!

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 03/08/2012 21:29

Can I ask what cd of your cycle you guys are starting sex week just checking I am starting mine on the right day of cycle

Haylebop12 · 03/08/2012 21:50

Erm not sure when I'm counting from to get my cd but I count 14 days from start of last period. This would be 13th aug so I start 3 days before and go till about 3 days after. Regularly anyway but will concentrate on this period of time so get some extra in! Haha!

Haylebop12 · 03/08/2012 21:52

And that's on a 28 day cycle. If you go on ovulation calculate on babycenter this gives you best days for getting pregnant according to you last Af start date and your cycle length. It will also give you rough due date if you get pg during that ovulation period.
Is that what you meant?

wilderumpus · 03/08/2012 21:53

hayle if your cycles are regular and spermies meet egg then I am sure you have nothing to worry about and your approach sounds poifect! I only know about ttc so much because it is in my hugely controlling and nosy nature blood to research everything and anything about everything!

cheese I start sex week the week before am due to ov. i am pretty regular give or take a day or two but still do opks so I know when I have ov'ed and can expect AF. generally I ov on day 20 but last month ov'ed on day 18 so this month will dtd every 2/3 days from cd 12-20 :) yay! tbh though we don't need to have much sexy time to make a baby - conceiving isn't necessarily our problem so much as making a sticky baby!

OP posts:
Haylebop12 · 03/08/2012 21:59

Well I don't know because like I say dd1 wasn't planned and now a cheeky stroppy 3.6 year old. Dc2 was concieved using my 3days before and after ovu date technique and decided to give up at 9 weeks :-(
Try not to think about it too much cyz I'll stress myself out but after a mc I think it's only natural to be concerned and want it even more!!
Here's to us getting a sticky baby!!!

booboomonster · 03/08/2012 22:35

Hi all
glad everyone is ok. I've had a manic week so sorry about my sporadic posts. Been enjoying all your updates though, specially accompanied by the rocky music one Grin.

Glad you are all gearing up for your sex week(s)! I usually find that I have to keep going for over a week though, as my ov date has shifted a bit since MC. I am usually knackered after a concerted effort, so our 'sex ten days' (doesn't have the same ring to it!) is usually about it for our sex life for the month.

Anyway, I am on the 2ww but not holding out much hope. Have an awful cold too which is getting me down - just am totally bunged up or drippy.

One other thing - I have signed up for the clearblue trial - has anyone heard of it? It means you have to collect and store your wee for a while and you get a load of opks. I am hoping I am not going to regret it... but I kinda thought that if I am obsessing about ttc (ie peeing on opks, temping, keeping note of swi) I may as well put it to good use.

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 03/08/2012 23:20

boob what's this clear blue trial you talk of?!

booboomonster · 03/08/2012 23:23

Hi cheese there is a thread in conception about it. But it's basically research for clearblue who make opks and preg tests. So not sure exactly. It's quite a lot of hassle, as you have to pee in a pot every day and store it in the fridge! You have a fertility monitor and opks too - I've not looked into it all yet as my test kit only arrived today and I was at work. I got the info on the clearblue website. I signed up a while back and they just called me a week or so ago.

booboomonster · 03/08/2012 23:27

Also I came across this today whilst doing some research for work. It might not be your cup of tea but just thought some of you might be interested... there is a link at the bottom of the article about the services.
www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2012/may/12/miscarriage-saying-goodbye-services

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 03/08/2012 23:46

Thanks boob, trial seems like to much hard work so will pass I think. Grin

To be honest, I am obsessed, with ovulating, getting pregnant, cd's, ewcm, getting pregnant, dtd, getting pregnant and getting pregnant.. I have an app on my phone that tells me my fertile days but it can't cope with a mc, so thinks my last cycle was 60 odd days long and am due to ov sometime in September Hmm. Why can't we just turn green when we ovulate, or grow an extra limb or something, so even dumbos like me couldn't miss it. Although I would probably still pee on a opk stick to check haha.

Some one said up thread it would be so much easier if we just KNEW that we would get pregnant in the future and it would all be ok. It's the what ifs and not knowing that makes me lose it and her so stressed.

Back to the vino for me.

Talking of which are you guys avoiding any foods, or eating anything super duper

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 04/08/2012 13:18

Here's to your beer and hopefully a good night's sleep Wild (and your joke made me laugh but I can't write the word, I'm that squeamish).

I think I hid AF announcement in amongst general news of my WORST EVER COLD as they both arrived at the same time, their joint efforts making for one joyous occassion all round. CD 3 here. Thanks for the Sad and Smile. I looked up when this kid's due date will be if I get pg this month. How silly is that???

Boo, I'm sorry I hadn't clocked that you are ill on your 2ww. That's tough. I remember you writing something about choice of meds. How are you managing?

Hayle, you sound like you've been very lucky apart from your recent mc, how far apart have your pg's been? (and are you young might I ask?).

Wild, just reading about your late ov, how long is your luteal phase then?

CHEESE! Brilliant, you just reminded me. OH was reading a Bill Bryson book in bed the other night while I phased in and out of consciousness. He was laughing because he'd read that apparently womens external bits change colour soon after conception. So, everyone, this is your mission should you choose to take it (cue MI music Boo) look at your lady bits now and start documenting the colour. (Personally though I'll wait until after AF (sick making emoticon)).

And yes I am avoiding certain foods, apparently all the healthy ones. But I have taken to eating a bit of raw veg everyday to make up for it. What's on your list foodwise?

wilderumpus · 04/08/2012 14:30

yo ladies, how goes it? I have been working well today, after getting up at... 9.45! LUSH.

hehe one I am eating total shit too, no help to you cheese. If I am working well I am allowed to eat crisps and chocolate to my heart's content, and so I do. and pizza and chips. I cannot be arsed to cook but think well, in Jan when I have finished this fecking PhD I shall have my whole life to eat healthily and cook properly again!

I ov on day 20, then have a 12 day LP one. 32 day cycle, tho last month I ov'ed on day 18 which was lovely (and caught me on the hop if we remember leading to panic shagging!) the length of my cycle is gradually shortening (after breastfeeding) but the LP rarely changes.

yo boo good to see you! Arf you signed up! I guess if you are charting and that tho it isn't much more of an effort. I think DH would think I had gone mad if I started showing him how much attention I pay to ttc with urine in the fridge and testing etc. He doesn't know ANYTHING about ov sticks etc, just thinks I know I am ov'ing because I am so intuitive I think Hmm I do know though, from CM so...

cheese how long have you been ttc? I am obsessed too but in a quieter way than I was. I suppose lots of it has become a pleasant routine, like putting stuff into FF every day and coming on here :) It did used to take up a LOT more of my time and energy but now thoughts of it just hum gently in the background while I get on with other things...

ho hum, back to work!

Haylebop12 · 04/08/2012 14:32

Hey one, I had dd1 in feb 2009 when I was 21, turn 25 the end if this month and yes I do consider myself lucky. However 1/2 if my pregnancies have ended in mc, not something I'd even thought about with pg1. Even took dd to the scan!!
And... I've also looked up due dare if u get pg this month... Around 06/05 which is ok but don't really want a late summer baby!
Not sure I'm into checking the colour of my bits! Having mil staying with us from today till thurs, she's leaving just in time ;-)
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!!

Haylebop12 · 04/08/2012 14:59

*due date if I, not u!

wilderumpus · 04/08/2012 15:05

arf I am so jaded with the whole process i haven't looked up any due date for this month. Having a 32 day cycle means they are all around the same date anyway, just different month!

I think I will wait for a dating scan to tell me :)
