Ah ok thanks for letting me know, silly question but someone else said don't test too early - so when is the best time? I have regular cycles so was just planning on testing if AF is late?

LisaC2611 · 05/07/2012 07:59

I'm also intending to test if af is late, but you can test up to 5 or 6 days before you are due with a first response or clear blue test. I think newbie has been using cheaper test but has had a bfn

EchoDragon · 05/07/2012 08:37

Morning all.

Still no positive opk. Still haven't DTD as DH is still like the walking dead after 48 hour shift at work. Am hoping he will be more human today and be up to it.

By testing early we mean before AF is due. Some people test from about 10dpo. That's days past ovulation. Much less stressful to wait til AF is late or day she is due. Still as only really on first proper cycle. I haven't actually done the whole 2ww yet. (2 week wait).

Hi to mrs b. The trouble is really whilst it is great to have support from each other we also do egg each other on with regards testing and POAS.

Nicola sorry to hear about your problems with your wedding. They do bring out the best and worst in people. My one piece of advice would be work out what really matters to you and do what you want with that. With things that bother you less go with the flow. My mum drove me mad in planning my wedding. I learnt to pick my battles to fight over her with. For me it was things like dresses, vows and hair etc I ignored her on. With stuff like flowers, meal choice and others I let her have free reign.

Enjoy it tho. It will go so quickly.

LisaC2611 · 05/07/2012 09:11

I agree with echo's advice fight your battles wisely and enjoy it. We're still waiting for our photos and video from ours last November and I can't wait to see the video and get all the memories of the day back Grin

I think I'm out for this month Sad am having my pre-af feelings SadSadSad

Really had a good feeling about this month until this morning, now feeling a bit down. Oh well 1 more month then I'm off to the gp for tests although I suspect know he will tell me to lose weight.

DulcetMoans · 05/07/2012 09:11

There is an abbreviation checker up there ^ somewhere mrsb if you get really stuck. POAS is peeing on a stick by the way, I think that's the only other one so far. BFN being big fat negative so a no on the pregnancy test.

My tracker app says I ov'd yesterday but I don't think I did so that is good at least. We are both so tired this week! I don't know why really, the only thing that is different is all the DTD so it must be that.

Sounds like your wedding planning is turning into a bit of a nightmare then nicola. Poor hubby though, it is horrible for him I am sure.

Hope you get to check in here before you go maclairey! We need to see a BFP.

Newbie2 · 05/07/2012 09:25

Yeah we haven't had any BFPs for a while now!

Mrsb POAOS = peeing on a ovulation stick and PIATH = peeing in a tea light holder (some crazy ladies do that.. I won't mention names Grin)

Lisa one of my apps says AF is due in 3 days and the other 4 days. I'm not testing until Tuesday morning...4 more mornings to go!

Newbie2 · 05/07/2012 09:27

Dulcet my app said I OVd 3 or 4 days before I actually did. Be on the watch out :)

LisaC2611 · 05/07/2012 09:36

My app is usually spot on with my due date so it should be next Thursday. I know ive got my usual af feelings though which usually happen a week before so I'm not going to bother testing as af will be here next thurs. oh well next month maybe

Mrsb999 · 05/07/2012 09:36

Right I think I'm getting there! Is the 2ww the amount of time you need to wait before testing? I'm also assuming dpo is days passed ovulation?

The other ones I have seen are epo and opk? Help!

Exciting stuff this TTC, wishing all of you lovely ladies the very best of luck xxx

Maclairey · 05/07/2012 09:40

Don't worry ladies I will let you know what happens tomorrow.

Just reading online and it might have been implantation bleeding, it's works out timing wise.

Also I have been having twinges for the last couple of days. Not like usual AF cramps though so not sure what is going on.

Probably way off track here and AF will show very soon.

Maclairey · 05/07/2012 09:41

Hey Mrs EPO is evening primrose oil and opk is ovulation predictor kit or ovulation sticks. Hope that helps.

DulcetMoans · 05/07/2012 09:44

Well now I am very excited for you maclairey!

Mrsb:epo - Evening Primrose Oil which many ladies swear by once they start it but I don't know the full reasons why. OPK - not sure on the exact abbriviation but its about Ovulation Kits. Things that check when you ovulate. Or OV as you might see it written here!

You are right with dpo and 2ww. Basically we spent days waiting for ov, then we spend 2 weeks waiting for AF whilst POAS many sticks!

DulcetMoans · 05/07/2012 09:44

*POAS many times.

Mrsb999 · 05/07/2012 09:47

I am taking folic acid and using cheapie ov sticks from eBay, the ov sticks seem to match up with my lady timer app thingy!

May have to look into EPO...I can feel myself getting obsessed already and it's only month 1!

Maclairey · 05/07/2012 09:48

Thanks Dulcet. I don't want to get too excited because I have a feeling I am setting myself up for a fall.

Newbie2 · 05/07/2012 10:05

I should not have worn tights to work...way too tight for the stomach :-/

DulcetMoans · 05/07/2012 10:25

I understand maclairey. At least your wait is almost over and you have a lovely holiday to look forward to as well!

Tight tights keep tummy in newbie, that's a good thing! haha!

Maclairey · 05/07/2012 10:46

Sadly it's not really a holiday Dulcet. We are only there for 4 nights for a wedding.

This wait may be almost over but ttc is a game of waiting for one thing or another.

I hate tight things on my tummy to Newbie!

Newbie2 · 05/07/2012 10:52

Mclairey hate tight rights this week or in general? Is it a sign Grin

Newbie2 · 05/07/2012 10:59

Ok have removed tights...phew much better! Feel really AF crampy. Deffinately not the same intestine pain I had on Wednesday. Have bad feeling AF is arriving. Normally fine with rights but have removed tights from work now 3x in two weeks (not normal behaviour)!

NicolaHazel · 05/07/2012 12:16

Thanks for all the support, ladies, it is much appreciated.

Just had a long meeting, so short lunch now so I can catch up. Ho hum!

Newbie2 · 05/07/2012 12:25

Oh rubbish not AF at all just this crappy intestine pain again. Ok from now on I'm not allowed to POAS or symptom spot for 4 days!!

NicolaHazel · 05/07/2012 12:54

Poor you, Newbie :-(

I'm feeling a bit periody and nauseous. This OV lark is shit!!

Oh, and Mrsb, I'm the PIATH culprit, and proud of it!

MumOfTwoCats · 05/07/2012 12:58

Ladies have you seen the clearblue trial thread. They called today and i've been accepted. For three months you use the product (cbfm i think) and keep a diary. She didn't mention about sending samples of wee to them, but someone else did on the clearblue trial thread.

I'll let you know when the info comes through. Doesn't bother me one bit sending them wee if they need it!

If you don't get pg then they let you have another three months. And thirty pounds of highstreet vouchers!

Mrsb999 · 05/07/2012 13:04

It's ok I've been PIAM (pissing in a mug!) to do my ov tests! I must add its the same chipped mug each time that I will eventually throw away.

I have applied for the clear blue trial too
