Welcome Twinkle I'm glad you found us. I'm sure youll get some advice and comfort from one of these lovely ladies Smile

MiniH · 15/11/2012 18:39

Welcome twinkle. Sorry no idea on lining but hopefully someone will help soon.

monkey I agree with others about getting immunes tested. Given it has happened three times you need to look at changing something to get a different result. I really hope they can fix it for you soon. In the meantime though take what time you need to process.

sunny no am still on weekly scans at ARGC which continues to 12w I think. They also re do immunes every three weeks and Fbc monthly. Am a bit nervous about Monday's scan though as they want to re-do hcg. So far that has caused nothing but stress as my levels never behave as they want to. Trying to focus on scan itself though, so fx bub is still growing strong.

Xx

TheCatSofa · 15/11/2012 19:33

Hey ladies!
I lost you all for ages! Couldn't remember/find the name of the thread but thankfully have found you again.

Amazing wonderful congrats to all the BFP's! Such good news. Sorry to not name everyone in person.

I had my first scan today - saw a real, live teeny tiny splodge plus heartbeat!!! My kitten

sunnyg · 15/11/2012 19:38

I must say after reading what you've said hoops, scrummy and mini I do realise now that perhaps all of the extra testing, scanning etc post BFP could actually make you more stressed. Especicaly with your placenta situation hoops it does seem that no knowing all of this lead you to a much happier pregnancy and perhaps not having that stress in turn really helped your bub to be okay. I guess because of MC earlier this year, my thoughts has gone beyond the elusive BFP, and to then staying pregnant. So I guess I associate that with more support, more testing, more scans. But I can now see how that may actually have an adverse affect.

Perhaps sometimes knowledge isn't power after all. We become such fertility experts/nerds that I wonder if knowing all that we know about what can go wrong, or having actually experienced it, makes us much more prone to being worry worts compared to those that conceive naturally, without even trying and then don't second guess every step of their pregnancy.

Hmm, sorry feeling a bit philisophical tonight! Bring on Friday!

vallinnapod · 15/11/2012 20:34

Hi Ladies,

Well, I'm back....ironically on day 3 of the pill at the mo to shed the lining that has been there since the birth of DS. Once I get a bleed I will be scanned and then on to progynova and eventually the delightful cyclogest, gearing up to FET just before crimbo. I had said I would wait until NY as poor DS was transferred on 16 Dec and ended up with a 31 Aug birthday (his fault for popping out 10 days early Grin) but there is no time like the present :)

I am so thrilled for all the BFPs! Incredibly encouraging :)

Hoophopes · 15/11/2012 23:24

Scrummy - great to hear of your little one Smile

Sunnyg - like your philosophical thoughts Grin. Stress is bad for babies I think, so I did reflexology, a good diet and treats in my pregnancy (like nice maternity clothes etc) to help relax!! You could always book private scans, lots of places do reassurance ones if you want them - the 3d ones later on are really lovely too. Yes, most patients the NHS see don't have people like us that have read up lots, discussed lots, gone through lots - their job is to create happy, well mummies and healthy babies. And sadly, there is nothing they can do at an early stage of pregnancy to help, but lots later on if there are issues with the baby.

Anaitis · 16/11/2012 09:01

Hello all, so pleased I've found this thread. I'm 17 days in to long protocol down reg for my first cycle of IVF - scan booked for next Tuesday and then hopefully starting jabs on Wednesday.

I am worried though as I've had brown spotting / light pink bleeding pretty much every day since I started taking the Pill (Microgynon) for the down reg. I dithered this week about calling the clinic, and now here I am on Friday thinking there's no point as I'll be in to see them next week.

Has anyone else had lots of spotting on Microgynon / down reg?

Thanks very much in advance for any input - wishing all the luck in the world to everyone on this thread.

Sashabella0 · 16/11/2012 12:31

Hi Anaitis

I was on Microgynon at the beginning if ny treatment and didn't have any spotting. However years ago when I was on the pill I used to. My advise would be call the clinic if you are worried. A five minute phone call will put your mind at rest and we need to be avoiding stress!

Xx

CaipirinhasAllRound · 16/11/2012 13:22

Hi Anaitis
I'm on day 10 of down regging but with a nasal spray. No spotting as of yet but have got sore boobs and my brain keeps switching off - normally mid sentence!
Hoping starting injections on the 28th
Good luck

vallinnapod · 16/11/2012 13:32

I'm on Microgynon at the moment and no spotting either - I would def call the clinic - the nurses have heard it all before :)

Anaitis · 16/11/2012 18:53

Thanks very much for the replies Sashabella0, CaipirinhasAllRound and vallinnapod - I left a message on the clinic answerphone at lunchtime, but haven't heard back from anyone so I'm guessing it'll be Monday now.

I'm booked to go in on Tuesday anyway - just hoping that all this spotting doesn't mean they have to halt the process (or extend the Microgynon as I've felt seriously rough on it).

Hey ho - am telling myself there's no point worrying about it over the weekend and that it's early days in the whole process. Thank you again for replying!

wellerbabe · 16/11/2012 21:35

cat there you are I was getting worried about you. I lost everyone once it was awful !!! Glad you found us and your little kitten is doing well Wink

wellerbabe · 17/11/2012 12:00

Hello all just been for day 10 scan and only have 2 follies one 16mm and one 18mm. Bit gutted but kind of expected no more as been so stressed at work and then DP collapsed with bad back right outside clinic on wed eve and was in hospital for 2 days! Have to stay positive that they will get 2 lovely eggs out of them on Tuesday Wink

Don't stop believing......

Pocket1 · 18/11/2012 08:02

Monkey I'm so sorry. This whole ttc journey can be just so rough. What meds were you on for your cycles? I ask because many of us are on various cocktails to help implantation including blood thinners (tiny blood clots may prevent implantation) and immune suppressants as well as the regular oestrogen and progesterone. Have you ever had your progesterone levels checked? I got s BFP recently and started to bleed the next day - clinic checked my progesterone level and it had dropped, I've since upped my progesterone meds, and have had both that and hcg levels checked and things seem to be fine. One other new thing my clinic did for this cycle was a saline hystogram (internal saline wash) to scratch the uterus wall and help implantation. Ditto what the other girls have said about immunes testing. Lastly, if your clinic really has run out of ideas, it might be worth finding a new one if that's an option for you. Sending you a hug, we all know just how you're feeling, but our moto at the bottom says it all. Rest and be kind to yourself.

Mini well done getting into the official Nhs system. Such a milestone Smile Wow for argc with their ongoing care. You certainly seem in very safe hands.

Mo i love your defiant spirit. Inspiring! I've only posted on one preg thread for a bit of fashion advice as I can't do my jeans up anymore - I know I'm rounder because of the meds and lack of exercise rather than bump but I got some good advice.

Scrummy yay for you at 33 weeks. You may well have our first baby of 2013 as I think Badger is due after you Grin

Cat wonderful news. I'm so pleased for you. How many weeks are you now? What's next for you?

Vanilla congrats being back on the ttc bus.

Welcome Anaitis I'm sorry I can't offer any advice but really hope the clinic out your mind at rest soon. All I would say is that this whole journey is a roller coaster but the ladies on the thread are always there to listen, help and support. And you can never ask too many questions of your clinic!

Weller i never had EC but i believe lots can happen in a couple of days, so grow follies grow and here's to a successful Tuesday for you.

Sasha how are you doing?

Hello to Badger, Hoops, Sunny, Bugsy Caipirinhas and anyone I've missed.

Scan day tomorrow - I'm feeling comforted by my heart palpitations (Mo I remember you mentioning this and now I know what you mean), looking tired, accupuncturist comments about my pulse and increasing nausea - but I won't be truly happy till ive see a heartbeat (or two). Will report back tmw eve.

All together now Dont stop believing
BiscuitBiscuit

gingernutdreams · 18/11/2012 14:28

Hi all,

Mo sorry to hear about all the stress you had with your booking in appointment with the midwife. I can completely understand your need for reassurance, considering your experiences so far, but I do agree with what Hoop and Scrummy say about it being nice not to have to be constantly scanned, levels measured etc and to just be treated as a normal pregnant woman, so you can enjoy it, rather than the constant worrying we seem to have during ivf. I hope you are feeling better about it all now and little pip is thriving. Smile

Sasha fab news re your BFP!! So pleased for you.

Mini I hope all goes well at your scan tomorrow. Sounds like ARGC are looking after you well.

Pocket I also hope your scan goes well tomorrow. It all sounds positive, with your heart palpitations, increasing nausea (sounds strange to wish that on someone) and looking tired.

Scrummy how lovely that you are 33 weeks with a lovely wriggly baby! Make sure you do slow down and take care of yourself now.

Welcome back Cat and lovely to hear of your little kitten!

Vallinna good luck with the FET just before Xmas, that's what I will be doing once I have sorted these immune tests, so I may be coming to you for advice. Smile

Weller so to hear you have been disheartened by your scan. Eat lots of protein, brazil nuts and water, and look after yourself. I am wishing very hard for you that some more follies catch up and the ones you have produce top quality eggs for you!

Monkey I am also sorry to hear about what you have gone through. I have also had 3 cycles of ivf (icsi), all were fresh transfers and I had 2 BFNs and my third was the elusive BFP but I then started to bleed about 2-3 days after that result and ended up losing it. My clinic (Care in Mcr) has agreed that it is an implantation problem and has now given me lots of info re immune testing, so I definitely think it is worth asking.

Anaitis I hope your clinic has been able to reassure you. I have only ever taken microgynon as a contraception, back in the day, and I never had spotting, but I believe it can be a side effect.

Welcome Twinkle and sorry to hear of your experiences too. I had not heard of a lining being out of phase, but it sounds like your clinic was very thorough with all their testing. Sorry, it has not worked for you so far, but as the ladies have said above, Don't stop believing. I completely understand what you are saying re being worried about it not happening for you over and over, I feel exactly the same. Have you had any other immune testing or anything? Take heart, the ladies on this thread are very positive, and great at support and hand holding.

Sunny you and I will have to swap notes on our immune testing experiences, and keep each other positive that this time it will be BFP and beyond for both of us! Grin

Hi to Badger, Hoops, Bugsy and anyone else I have not mentioned.

AFM, I have not been well recently, I have had a tummy bug, and generally felt lethargic and rubbish for a while. I am trying to wade through all of my info on immunes and decide which ones to go for and work out how we are going to find the cash for it all. Some of the treatments for the various problems sound pretty scary, but DH say the side effects they put on for any drug sound horrific, as they have to put everything down, regardless of how slim the chance of developing that side effect is! I need to find my inner strength to start again, I think.

Sorry for massive post.

DSB

Hoophopes · 18/11/2012 23:08

Hi ginger just to say hope you feel better soon. i was on a whole cocktail of immune drugs and just wanted to let you know that despite a lot of health issues myself usually I didn't have one side effect of any medication and was the healthiest I have been for a long time!!

MiniH · 19/11/2012 07:31

pocket good luck for your scan today.

Xx

Pocket1 · 19/11/2012 08:32

Thanks Mini and Ginger. Am oh so terrified. And yet full of hope ConfusedHmm

BadgerFace · 19/11/2012 12:59

Good luck Pocket - DSB!

gingernutdreams · 19/11/2012 13:22

Thanks Hoops, I do feel reassured by that. I think I'm just freaking out about it all. I'm sure I'll get my head round it all.

Twinkle2012 · 19/11/2012 18:47

Thank you for all the welcomes -
I am trying to keep up with who is who but will take a while I think..

I did have some immune testing for nk cells but current clinic don't believe in nk cells impacting implantation.

Who to believe? That's the eternal question.

I'm feeling totally down in the dumps like its all over. I can't seem to

I'm feeling totally down in the dumps like its all over. I can't seem to pick myself up. I can't imagine ever wanting to put myself through it all again but I can't imagine life without a family. Ugh I feel awful.

Anyway, sorry for the self pity.

Wishing you lots of luck x

bugsylugs · 19/11/2012 19:05

Pocket hope all well today.

Hoophopes · 19/11/2012 19:16

Twinkle what were the results of your immune tests? Did they find any issues with nk cells or any of the other tests? If you need immune issues treating would you consider changing back to the other clinic or another clinic that offers treatment for them (you may not have any issues so may not be relevant). Did you have all level 1 and 2's tested?

Pocket1 · 19/11/2012 19:57

Omg, everything is ok. Mini Pocket measuring spot on for 7+3. Saw and heard a heartbeat. Long way to go yet, but we are chuffed to bits.

Thank you for all your kind words and support.

Really really Dont stop believing
