hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Ari I've always, until last cycle of course, had a negative at 10dpo. I've not really tested to see if the Ovitrelle was out of my system, just tested early to see if I could stop taking pred but by that indication I would say the Ovitrelle is out of your system by then.

Also, the supposed ovulation pain doesn't always mean that the egg is being released at that moment. The pains can start as the follicle is reaching maturity before the egg is released, so there could still be hope! I think I kept going a day or two after I ovulated just in case. digi always suggested not to assume you'd already ovulated and keep going a bit longer just to be sure and that seemed to work for her! Mind you, as I remember, she was particularly diligent Grin.

Pebbles, it's so hard to second guess what all the twinges and cramps and spotting mean isn't it? It's like bloody torture! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Not too long to go for an answer now, hope it's the one you want. I'm definitely feeling your pain on the pred front. It's making me feel absolutely horrific! I feel so out of it a lot of the time. It's just kicked in like this and I'm hoping this is not the shape of things to come until I wean off it as it's going to make work very tricky! Especially having the shakes so badly. Not a good look for a make up artist.

I think I'm feeling sort of pregnant now so trying to keep the mentalling under control. I actually lost count of the ridiculous amount of times I got up for a pee on Friday night. I have sort of twinges around my uterus which I don't think are scary twinges, more just "stuff going on in there" feelings. We'll see. I'll probably find something to mental about tomorrow!

Arianrhod · 20/08/2012 08:52

kittens Thank you for the slim ray of hope! (It wasn't me asking about when to test for the Ovitrelle out of my system, btw, I was just answering whomever did ask about it!) I always believed that ovulation pains only happened when the egg was released, since I get a definite sharp pain for a handful of hours and then it goes completely. I always thought that was the follicle rupturing; I would be absolutely delighted if I'm wrong and we're still in with a chance! We dutifully followed Mr S's advice (with a bit of extra thrown in for good measure) on timing, but it will all be to waste if my silly body decided to ovulate before I had the trigger shot :( I guess I need to factor in that possibility for next month, if I'm not lucky this month.

pebbles I definitely sympathise on the twinges and associated bodily grumblings, it's such a PITA. I did have an ironic chuckle to myself during the last cycle where I was non-TTC, I still kept half a weather-eye on the various pains and aches around ovulation time and lead up to AF and decided that there is absolutely no defining pangs that you could point to with an "aha" for possible pregnancy, since I was getting all the same pangs with absolutely no chance whatsoever of being pregnant. I figure that none of it actually means anything for definite - it could be either AF or preg. What a headache it all is!

kittens So glad you're finally feeling "sort of" pregnant - I know there's always something to mental about (does it ever stop?!) but at least feeling pregnant gives you one less thing to worry over!

Pebbles73 · 20/08/2012 13:37

Hi Kittens it was me asking about the ovitrelle. I have to confess I was an idiot and tested yesterday for some stupid reason forgetting sbout the ovitrelle and of course got the faintest of lines (lots of squinting involved) but is obviously down to ovitrelle. Didn't mention it to oh as he would think I mad testing do early, I just had a weakening and thought sod it but won't be doing that again!
Glad to hear you are feeling pregnant but sorry the pred is making you feel crap, shakes are the last thing you neec in your line of work.

Ari hope Kittens info made you feel better, I know what you mean about checking for twinges and cramps and I agree really no way if telling. Wax probably just wind in my case, lol! Grin

Arianrhod · 22/08/2012 16:27

duggs If you're still reading this thread, just wondered how your SO scan went yesterday??

jaffajiffy · 22/08/2012 18:33

Hi all. Just checking in. Thinking of kittens tomorrow having a scan. And pebbles have you tested again? ari on 2 ww? And rainbows must be testing soon too?

I have a scan tomorrow as well! Have been feeling quite ill, which is great, but I haven't been sleeping very well, and I'm really concerned the stress of work is getting to me. All will be revealed tomorrow.
Ho hum. Jx

Havingkittens · 22/08/2012 18:37

Ahh, good luck to you to jaffa. I will post as soon as I can. Unfortunately I'm stuck with an old phone that I'm not sure I can post from so may not be able to update when I get home. What time is yours?

duggs1976 · 22/08/2012 18:40

Hey ladies.. Fingers crossed for kittens and jaffa scans tomorrow.

My SO scan went ok. 2 ripe follies one 17.5mm and one 20mm and 8.5mm lining so did ovritrelle shot yesterday. BD last night, this morning and headed home right now for another "session" Wink But I've had these kind of sizes before SO1 my only follicle was too big back in November 2011 then SO2 was similar to this and i was hopeful in December. I had jan off for hysteroscopy and then had another shot in February this year SO3 which I threw IUI at . Then I went onto ivf in march. MC April. I have tried naturally in may and July to no avail so let's see where this gets me. Not sure if this is counted as SO4 or if I start from scratch? pebbles have you tested again?

jaffajiffy · 22/08/2012 18:49

duggs that's pretty good, and "it only takes one". But hard to get too excited with the saga behind you, I know.

kittens I'm at 4 pm. And you?

Havingkittens · 22/08/2012 19:07

My appointment is 8.45, but it's NHS so that could be any time during the morning really.

Keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you Duggs.

Yes, Pebbles, any news from you? Or are you exercising super resolve on the testing front?

Mel3062 · 23/08/2012 03:29

Hi ladies, I'm entering my fourth month of superovulation and steroids for v high nk cells. The first 2 months were ok, 2 follicles, 14 day lp, spotting abit beforehand and awful migraine. This month only one follicle and af Came bright red 4/ 5 days early id not even finished prednisolone!! Has anyone else had this? Hoping it's a one off. Louise said she may be able to help if it happens again. Onto increased 7.5 Letrozole now!! Any experiences ladies?? No migraine though this month. ;)

Arianrhod · 23/08/2012 09:42

Morning ladies -

duggs Good follie scan, not sure about SO cycle but wouldn't it kind of 'reset' back to cycle 1 since it's been 6 months since you last did SO? Fingers crossed this does the trick! Just out of interest, did you get your OH's sperm tests redone after you'd finished the anti-bs?

kittens and jaffa Hope all goes really well for your scans today!

pebbles Any news??

mel Welcome to the thread. I would say Letrozole is well known for messing up cycles, more often shortening rather than lengthening I think, and certainly I'd say it's doing that to me since I appear to be ovulating day 11 or 12 with AF coming 13 or 14 days later.

Any of you ladies had to fly with gonal-f and if so, what did you do with it? I'm off to Crete next Tues night (my mother's 70th birthday, she lives there) and as luck would have it I'm going to still be out there most likely when I have to start taking the gonal-f for the cycle. Central Homecare have advised me not to put it in the hold (I was going to put it in a cool bag with two of the icepacks the gonal-f comes with) because they said you run the risk of it freezing in the hold? But I thought you aren't allowed to have hypodermic needles in carry-on luggage ... plus the airline I'm flying with only allows a maximum weight for carry-on as 5kg, which two icepacks is going to eat into! I thought hold would be best because it's cool, but they say not. So did anyone else fly with this, and if so, what did you do with it please?

Mel3062 · 23/08/2012 10:15

Thanks my next scan is day 11 rather than 14 this month so I guess wel just have to start early. It baffles me though as my scan on day 14 showed 1 follicle so hadn't ovulated beforehand :/
Good luck ladies for today x

Havingkittens · 23/08/2012 12:34

Just posting the same as I've put on the Pred thread....

So far, so good! Measuring 6+5, which is just a day less than my estimate and a good heartbeat. Next scan on 4 Sept (and all being well, more intralipids) so not too long to wait. Phew!

buzzybee123 · 23/08/2012 12:40

kittens thats great news :)

Arianrhod · 23/08/2012 12:42

Oh fantastic kittens, so pleased!!!

duggs1976 · 23/08/2012 12:49

As posted on pred thread fabulous news !Grin

ari he has to re test 3 mths after finishing anti bs so will be 3 October. If they r still bad then I think we need to re plan as obviously a major issue and cause of mc. Really hoping is all ok.

Where r u with things now?

Arianrhod · 23/08/2012 13:08

Ok, will be interested to know if the anti-bs did the trick if you don't mind sharing when the time comes?

Us, well OH tested as having marvellous super-sperm, so obviously all fault lies with me :( We still haven't managed to get back to TDL for the LAD/DQa/karyotyping blood tests, OH just won't commit to a date. Currently on 4th cycle of SO but think I ovd naturally on the day I took the Ovitrelle shot, which means I'm probably out for this month too. Theoretically now in 2ww but with the uncertainty of when I actually ovd I'm really stumped as to when to test. If by some miracle one of those super-sperm did manage to catch an egg then I need to be on pred ASAP as I'm not taking it currently, but equally I don't want to test too soon. Throw in a trip to Crete during half of the next gonal-f-taking-period and that's more stress!

jaffajiffy · 23/08/2012 13:11

kittens so pleased!

Havingkittens · 23/08/2012 13:23

Thank you Grin. I nearly burst into tears when I saw it!

ari, this cycle that I got pregnant was the one where I was going gonal-f in my tent at a festival so the stress thing shouldn't work against you!

jaffajiffy · 23/08/2012 16:59

Another good scan! Measures 7.2 so still ahead of dates and with a HB. Was tense though as the midwife could only find a big black blob so had to get the consultant in. That was a cyst on my ovary, which is from the corpus luteum and will go away gradually. The consultant found the embryo very quickly. Phew! Wish I could have a stiff drink!

Abney · 23/08/2012 17:45

Congratulations to both kittens and jaffa I was nervous for you when I was logging in. I know it will not stop you worrying but still it is excellent news. Grin

Mel I have finished my SO attempts now but my cycles did change. I was always as regular as clockwork usually 28 days but to my surprise it went down to 22, 23 and 24 days. Like you my AF started suddenly with a splash of red blood. Previously I always had warning signs ie brown smudges, etc, about 4 days prior to AF starting. Sometimes these smudges did turn into pg's. I hope this helps. This is the first time of trying naturally since last mc (Dec 2011) and I know on my previous pg's if I dtd on day 14 I usually had some success so I am hoping that my cycle goes back to 28 days and that I have greater success. Now on a 2ww. Good luck on your SO.

Havingkittens · 23/08/2012 18:10

Brilliant news jaffa. So, we're 4 days apart! I had a couple of cysts too. I guess all that stimulating can cause them.

Thanks everyone for the congratulations.

Symptoms are definitely creeping in more and more.

Mel3062 · 23/08/2012 18:47

Thanks abney and congrats ladies x

LJ71 · 23/08/2012 19:42

Many congratulations both of you - love news! xx

buzzybee123 · 23/08/2012 21:01

ari why don't yo put the needles in your main bag and just the pen in your hand luggage, maybe call the airline and see what they suggest, I don't think they worry too much about the weight of hand luggage, I can't believe the size of some peoples hand luggage, have a lovely time
