Confused by all the TTC talk? OPKs? Taking your temperature?! Then this is the thread for you! We want babies the good old-fashioned way - through drunken, spontaneous shagging at any time of the month Grin. All you need is a man, Wine, ramekins and a batch of cheapo pregnancy sticks, and you're good to go! (Shag-capes and actual Sex optional)

The group is so successful that you can see the results for yourself in our graduates thread full of mamas who JSed their way to motherhood. Getting a BFP within a few weeks is known as "doing a kitten", and due to the secret and magical powers of the Just Shagging thread, this happens from time to time.

We have our own TTC language - EWCM is now known as "pant snot", AF is now "ERTD" (Evil red tide of DOOM!), OV is ovulation, and of course, JSing is Just Shagging!

Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

Old thread is here if you want proof it works!

Lol @ southlundon!

Yay for shed shenanigans!! I was a big fan of outdoors sex in my teens and early to mid twenties but the last few years I much prefer my lovely home Smile

Id worry too much about getting caught and losing my job rather than getting lost in in the moment

babylann · 22/05/2012 23:27

I'm likely to have 2, maybe 3 children - if I'm not infertile. The dream was always to have 6, but money, career, health but most importantly experience and hindsight will stop that from happening!

I've only just managed to convince DP to let us have 2 children, and he is willing to consider 3 if we don't have a boy next time as he knows I've always longed for a son (not that I don't love my DD and secretly hope for another girl this time even if we are only having 2!)

chocolatehippy · 22/05/2012 23:27

just to add to that, i think it may just come down to health and age with us. Husband would like 2 ideally (ease of travel, cost etc) but would easily be swung to having one more :) Just wish this would all hurry up already....

lollypopsicle · 23/05/2012 06:12

Like hippy I'm one of 4 (oldest) but had always vowed I'd have no more than 2. I can see me leaning towards 3 though, if it ends up possible.

I wish I could relax enough to do it in a shed but I'd be thinking about all the spiders!

Finally, Thanks horse, feeling better today. JS-ed last night and just trying to take a chill pill about it all until my next crazy conception lady melt down.

Fraktal · 23/05/2012 07:38

I'm one of 3 but I remember being an only so I would have been very happy with one or a big age gap so like 2 singletons. DH is one of 3 very close in age so wants 2 close together, hence JSing now on the condition we think about my singleton in 10 years or so, by which time most of my friend's will be mid to late thirties and having their first!

I suppose my meh-ness towards having another means I'm not pregnancy obsessed! I see many advantages to being an only as well as advantages to being one of two. 3 is awkward unless you have a 2+1 combo, so if we had 3 I might go for 4. Not more than 5!

Kittenkatzen · 23/05/2012 08:08

ShockShockShock at somethings naked park shenanigans! :) I'd be terrified of giving some poor dog walker the shock of their life!

Woohoo mandasand nice work on the shed christening :o

I'm one of 5....second youngest....and have always seen myself with a big family of 3 or four. DH isn't so keen though and can't get his head past the practical concerns of having more than two. Hopefully I can change his mind :)

Hope everyone's getting out to enjoy the sunshine today :)

Kittenkatzen · 23/05/2012 08:09

Sorry for the over-abundance of smileys on that last post - clearly I'm in a good mood this morning!

AWomanCalledHorse · 23/05/2012 08:21

baby, you know now you've said that you'll have triplets & DP won't know what to do with himself!

chocolate, my DH is like yours! Wants to stop at 2 as everything is geared towards 2 adults, 2 children.
I'm one of 4 and would like a bigger family.
Frak, I like your idea of 2 together, 1 later on! Must tell DH!

Kitten, we have no sunshine here. It teased us yesterday but has pissed orf as I've decided to take DS to the park for the first time!
Yay for the good mood!

lolly, vent away whenever you have a crazy lady meltdown. It's so hard to explain to people who aren't ttc how important it is!

Fraktal · 23/05/2012 08:24

I'm about to PIAPC (plastic cup). I've been dithering for ages, okay, all morning. Will report back.

BFN :(

Am quite upset, which I didn't really expect. I guess I was too quick to jump to conclusions re feeling crappy this morning, achey hips and constant tiredness and let my thoughts run away with me.

AWomanCalledHorse · 23/05/2012 08:46

Oh Frak, I'm sorry. x

babylann · 23/05/2012 09:00

Sorry Fraktal :(

So sorry fraktal :(:(

babylann · 23/05/2012 10:03

I'm probably due a similar disappointment, only on CD19 at the moment and have already convinced myself this is the month, I'm definitely pregnant and allowed myself to believe those OV pains I was having were much worse this month because I had fertilised the egg and was now experiencing some kind of implantation pain or "chubbier than usual egg making its way through the system" pain.

OP posts:
AWomanCalledHorse · 23/05/2012 10:10

baby, me too. Feel bloody awful & bloated atm. I'll be testing next Friday...if I don't get ERTD by then.

somethingwittynot · 23/05/2012 10:39
Sad
mandasand · 23/05/2012 12:55

Aw, sorry to hear your disappointing news, fraktal. So, it's not to be this month but, looking on the bright side, who know what will happen next month :) Hope the crappy & tired feelings lift soon. Thanks

I'm not bothering testing yet. Will give it a few more months of randomly trying and failing first. But yesterday when I took my bra off my boobs were all achey and sore, which normally indicates my period is not far ahead. I got a bit down about that as I was sure we'd done everything right this month (i.e. lots JSing). Nevermind, bah.

Lots to catch up on. On numbers, I have this crazy notion I'd like two get two at once, because then they would have an instant playmate and I'd only have to do maternity leave etc once! But three would be nice, but I'd have to see how I took to motherhood + career first. DH freaks out at the idea of more than one (£ and space) but he's a born worrier and we will be okay on those fronts, fingers crossed. The big thing for me is that I was a (very lonely) only child for 13 years. I had steps and halves but hardly saw them. Then my darling half-brother came along and it was great! Except that at 13 I was more like a mini-mum to him than a sis. I think my personality would be much more flexible if I'd had siblings, so defo more than 1, if we can.

thanks for shed-shagging congrats! (and lolly, I was thinking of the spiders, eek!) I think that was quite enough excitement for one week (month, year?!) so please don't set me any more challenges, hehe!

MuddyWellyNelly · 23/05/2012 15:41

Aww crap frak. Have some Wine.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 23/05/2012 15:58

I always said I'd like 2. Now I've got 2 I definitely want 4 3. My OH was not keen but has been persuaded to have one more.

With regards to DC#3, I PIAPC this morning as still no ERTD ( 5 days late). BFN Sad.

So Confused. Have 1 more HPT from my 2 pack, shall I just save it now and assume I've just dried up had a weird period month?

AWomanCalledHorse · 23/05/2012 17:06

Guinea, I had a moosive gap (40+ days) between my last 2 periods. Sorry about your BFN.

mandasand all my siblings are half (3 with my mum, who I grew up with) & 2 by my dad who I've never met) so DS having 'full' siblings is a big thing for me.
Although rather you than me on the twin front!!

Frak, hope you're not feeling too down about BFN? xx

Abernethy · 23/05/2012 17:08

Can I join in please? Im mostly a lurker but thought it was about time I got stuck in! Me and DH are TTC#1 this is our fourth month of trying and Im feeling hopeful (although Ive still got another week till ERTD is due so probably too early!)

lollypopsicle · 23/05/2012 17:19

Guineapigs the logical me would say wait and see, the ttc obsessed nutter inside me says test tomorrow with fmu. You decide which to consider/ignore!

Babylann I was thinking the exact same thing about my ov pain and having a particularly potent egg. Lol.

Sorry to hear of the BFN, fraktal

Bloody lovely weather here. Quite enjoyed playground duty today! I work mon- wed so have the rest of the week to enjoy the weather with DS Smile

lollypopsicle · 23/05/2012 17:21
