Confused by all the TTC talk? OPKs? Taking your temperature?! Then this is the thread for you! We want babies the good old-fashioned way - through drunken, spontaneous shagging at any time of the month Grin. All you need is a man, Wine, ramekins and a batch of cheapo pregnancy sticks, and you're good to go! (Shag-capes and actual Sex optional)

The group is so successful that you can see the results for yourself in our graduates thread full of mamas who JSed their way to motherhood. Getting a BFP within a few weeks is known as "doing a kitten", and due to the secret and magical powers of the Just Shagging thread, this happens from time to time.

We have our own TTC language - EWCM is now known as "pant snot", AF is now "ERTD" (Evil red tide of DOOM!), OV is ovulation, and of course, JSing is Just Shagging!

Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

Old thread is here if you want proof it works!

hello chocolate, welcome! can you tell us some more about how acupuncture sorts out your cycle? doc told me it might take a year to get my fertility back after progesterone-only injection (2.5 years or so) and p.-only pill (4 months or so). would it help, do you think? ta! :)

chocolatehippy · 22/05/2012 01:24

Hi Manda! Started Accupuncture mid March as wanted to up the TTC game as having stopped pill in November, gone an everyday-shaggaholic honeymoon for 6 weeks, came back not pregnant Angry So started accunpuncture as i'd read it can help and having only 1 tube after horrific eptopic, i was game for anything! The accupuncture got my cycle back to 30 days (was 28 on pill) in just 3 weeks, which is a big plus i guess. Now to get me pregnant - jury's still out....more than anything it really helped to relax me and has also 'warmed my womb' (says chinese doctor) which is good for the eggs etc. I say try it for a few months. Make sure you go to someone who specifically deals with fertility and knows what they are doing. This TTC game is crazy huh? Which is why i've planted myself here in the JSing and Wine team :) ALOT more fun and less stressful. Keep me posted how you get on and if you want further info, always happy to share X

Kittenkatzen · 22/05/2012 08:00

Morning JSers, and welcome chocolate :)

In the spirit of the thread I went all out for Wine and JSing last night....unfortunately I had rather too much WineWine and didn't actually make it to the important bit! Oops Blush

babylann · 22/05/2012 08:35

Welcome chocolate. I might have to give acupuncture a try, anything to get a proper cycle back! Sorry to hear about your ectopic :(

So we are continuing to JS despite being in the wrong half of the month and I'm feeling weirdly positive about this one. Grin

so my SIL has her scan today she had an emergency scan middlw of last month dating her at 5 weeks and then one last week dating her ay 14 weeks doesnt make sense to me? at my 9 week scan they put me back a week which turned out to be right but 9 weeks in a month? guess we will find out today

AWomanCalledHorse · 22/05/2012 08:51

We somehow managed to JS..even with his illness! Yay!

Welcome chocolate! Sorry to hear of your ectopic, thanks for sharing about the acunpuncture, I hope it helps!

something, could she be having a massive baby? Makes no sense! Hope her scan goes well. x

topbannana · 22/05/2012 09:26

Goodness, it only takes me to be away for a few hours and the place goes to bedlam with BFP's everywhere :o

All quiet on the JS front here, ERTD SHOULD be due in one week (the new organised me, if anyone should ever access the organiser on my i-Phone it would make their eyes boggle Hmm) This is of course theoretical as I am DEFINITELY pg this month!!

On another note, I am a lot more relaxed about ttc the lazy way since being on here. It is reassuring to know I am not the only woman of child bearing age who spends half her spare time rummaging round in her knickers. Its also good to know that there are others out there who do not conceive after one quick knee tremble, which seems to be the norm round here Smile

somethingwittynot · 22/05/2012 09:27

yay for JSing woman

exactly my thoughts makes no sense at all.

Fraktal · 22/05/2012 09:48

At 5 weeks a millimetre makes a huge difference - up to 2 weeks in terms of dates and 14 weeks could be 12 but that's still 4 weeks unaccounted for....hope it all goes okay today for your SIL something

Hello chocolate and welcome. Accupuncture sounds very interesting - fingers crossed it works for you.

mandasand · 22/05/2012 09:53

Hey chocolate, thanks for the advice on acupuncture! and sorry to hear about your ectopic :( I'll definitely look into this as it would be good (at my grand old age of 37) not to have to wait a year for my fertility to return! That said, the periods are back, if a bit oddly, which bodes well. :)

hurray for the Wine kitten, but don't forget to shag!! hehe! that said, we've left it for a few days as DH was away at the weekend and we're spending every minute down the allotment trying to get things under control for round 1 of the allotment competition which I rather rashly entered us into (DH fell about laughing when he heard: it's our first year of a grown-up sized lottie and it's a nightmare!) anyway, I think I am passed the OV phase in my cycle so now just to wait for the ERTD ... or not?!

well done on the JSing front babylann and woman. will get back to it soon, I promise!

top, I've found it relaxing being here too! It's reassuring to hear other people are pissed off when they get ERTD too!
Although I think if you spend more time rummaging in OH's pants than your knickers to help the BFP quest Wink

mandasand, Ooh! Very jealous of your allotment (7yr waiting list here)!
What are you growing?
Good luck in the competition.

Kittenkatzen · 22/05/2012 10:30

:o:o at knicker rummaging!

Ooh yes good luck in the competition mandasand I am envious of your green fingers - I'm trying to get into "growing stuff" in my garden this year, but considering that up until a couple of months ago I thought carrots grew above ground on bushes (yes really!) I'm not holding out much hope!!

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 22/05/2012 10:47

Hello all. Wondered if I could join your lovely thread please?

TTC #3. Considered checking BBT and cervical mucus etc but dont have the time to devote to it. I'm not very good at doing things EVERY day, especially at the same time (sometimes don't even manage breakfast so temp checking is never going to happen!)

That being said, I am incredibly impatient and I want JSing to work RIGHT NOW! We started JSing on 5/5/2012. Was due last Friday/Saturday and no ERTD but no BFP either Confused. Got pg by accident with DS and DD happened straight away, fingers crossed for this time.

How do you all manage to stay calm and relaxed when JSing?! I feel like a pregnancy-obsessed maniac! Answers on a postcard...? Smile

Kittenkatzen · 22/05/2012 11:30

Welcome guineapig/Icompletely?! How do we shorten your name?!

I would love to be able to offer some inspriational advice on how to stay calm whilst JSing.......but I can't because I secretly am a pregnancy obsessed maniac!

However the lovely ladies on this thread are very good at focusing the obsession on the actual JSing, rather than the outcome, which is fab!

AWomanCalledHorse · 22/05/2012 12:03

GuineaPig! Welcome!! How old are your other DC?
Our DS is 5months old so the idea of being pg right now is bloody scary (only positive thing about getting a BFN is it's getting closer to being 'easier' handling 2 DC)!
We are already arguing over names however.

Kitten Grin carrot bushes! DH thought I was lying when I told him about Brussel Sprout stalks!

mandasand · 22/05/2012 12:10

seven-year waiting list, woman?! wow...you'd really have to want one to wait that long! Still, that's good enough time to read up on How To Grow Things, which is what I should do more of. I grow veggies like I cook - just stick it all in and see how it turns out, which works about 80% of the time :)

We got the plot last October and spent some really cold autumn/winter days (but also some nice blue-skied ones!) digging some of it over, transplanting rhubard, strawbs and raspberries from our old starter plot and moving a little old shed from our garden down there. We planted an apple tree with three varieties and a pear, gooseberry and blueberry bushes, and started a herb garden and a flower garden. We did overwinter onions, shallots, garlic and pointy cabbages. And everytime we dig over a new bit of earth DH chucks in a load of spuds. He is obsessed with growing spuds! Whereas I'm more interested in getting in peas and beans and beetroot. We're trying with carrots, but we had no luck last year, and parsnips and turnips (who knew they were actually ok to eat?!) Also toms and courgettes and stuff. Right now, though, I'm obsessed with getting rid of the mares tail which took over everything whilst we were away for two weeks. I fear that getting crap feedback on our plot will dampen my enthusiasm for the lottie. I put us in for the competition thinking there's loads of time till the summer, not knowing that they judge you in rounds starting next bloody Tuesday!!! So, every night is spent at the allotment. We were there till 10pm last night and had to grab a rushed takeaway on the way home!

hehe, south, we are plucking up the courage to get down and dirty in the shed, at least! but every time we get halfway there DH starts fretting about it falling over and leaving us in flagrante! Grin

kitten, funny about the carrots! but really i don't have green fingers. i grew toms in the greenhouse as a kid, and courgettes a few years back, but I really don't know what I'm doing. DH did a lot of gardening with his grandad when he was little, so he's got a lot of instinct for it which I envy. But I'm learning stuff. I find it AMAZING to see stuff growing. And then you can EAT it! Last year for two months solid we had raspberry and strawberry smoothies every morning! delish.

welcome, guinea! :)

somethingwittynot · 22/05/2012 13:02

so shes 14 weeks exactly today apparantly. im going to live up to my and do it something styleee in a min Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 22/05/2012 13:23

mandasand, that's quite short, a friend in a neighbouring borough has a 15yr waiting list!!
Sounds wonderful! We live in a flat, communal gardens so only have access to window boxes, which get taken up growing parsley & other herbs for the rabbits!
Going to nick a bit of my best friends garden (although it's awful quality soil) & grow some veggies for the rabbits. They'll be the Guinea Pigs to my growing!
I don't think I've ever eaten a turnip!

something, glad scan went well!! I for one would like to start another thread catchphrase; 'shagging like something' Wink

Kittenkatzen · 22/05/2012 13:35

mandasand your allotment sounds amazing - fresh home grown strawberry smoothies every day!! Can i come and live at your house please?! And I definitely think you and your DH should go for it in the shed - just think of all the comedy naming options you could have for a baby conceived in an allotment shed!! :o

south I am SO jealous of you working from home with your DH....mine works from home too and I'm stuck here 2hrs away in London at my desk :(

somethingwittynot · 22/05/2012 14:13

shagging like something- lets go for it!

woman we live in flat to but are fortunate to have our own large garden included! infact were waiting for the SIL ( i like) and BIL and then were having a BBQ in our medow garden

MuddyWellyNelly · 22/05/2012 14:14

No turnips Shock. What have you all done with your lives? How can you have Haggis Neeps and Tatties without the Neeps even though a Neep/turnip is actually a Swede and turnips are really albino beetroots Grin. I am jealous of your veg growing. I have success with tatties and nothing else.

Mr Nelly and I are both WFH today and did manage a leisurely morning shag, though we've yet to do so on company time Wink.
