Confused by all the TTC talk? OPKs? Taking your temperature?! Then this is the thread for you! We want babies the good old-fashioned way - through drunken, spontaneous shagging at any time of the month Grin. All you need is a man, Wine, ramekins and a batch of cheapo pregnancy sticks, and you're good to go! (Shag-capes and actual Sex optional)

The group is so successful that you can see the results for yourself in our graduates thread full of mamas who JSed their way to motherhood. Getting a BFP within a few weeks is known as "doing a kitten", and due to the secret and magical powers of the Just Shagging thread, this happens from time to time.

We have our own TTC language - EWCM is now known as "pant snot", AF is now "ERTD" (Evil red tide of DOOM!), OV is ovulation, and of course, JSing is Just Shagging!

Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

Old thread is here if you want proof it works!

Thats the thing my dress is tight all the way to the hips... maybe its wedding nerves not pregnancy...
Im not a big drinker anyway so that wont bother me it my hen next month that i will have to worry about. how do you not drink at your own hen without people asking questions

NicolaHazel · 03/06/2012 11:07

That is a challenge, though a couple won't hurt, and if you're generally not a big drinker, can you get away with it that way?

Maybe it is nerves...you won't know til you POAS!

I bet you're really torn right now though? :-/

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 03/06/2012 11:13

When i say im not a big drinker i mean i don't go out clubbing/pubbing ect but when im dragged out im a horrible drunken mess.
my maid of honor will be pilling me with drink all night. i just don't think id get away with it at all.

it doesnt bother me that i cant drink or my dress will be tight. its keeping it a secret. dp and i said that if we do get pg before the wedding he will tell everyone in his speech.
It will be so good :)

lollypopsicle · 03/06/2012 12:42

amaze, if it turns out you are then I'd say I'm on antibiotics and when people inevitably suspect then just deny it as being a ridiculous possibility that you could possibly be preggo. Or let your MOH in on the secret and she can 'pretend' to feed you drinks all night to avoid suspicion Wink

Oven is really broken. Ooops!

LH how are you today?

Well, I caved and got BFN so now just waiting for ERTD. Wearing white knickers to coax it out Grin. I'm not surprised as I don't think we made a very good JS effort this month. Onwards and upwards!

somethingwittynot · 03/06/2012 14:04

DP called me to say that we are now part of a police cordon the shop belowe has been broken into

Kittenkatzen · 03/06/2012 17:42

Oh LH I'm so sorry for your loss :(:( big hugs and definitely get stuck into the wine and chocolate. I've also heard that you can be super fertile post-mc so hopefully you'll be able to prove that for the rest of us.

amazeballs all your symptoms are sounding really positive, how exciting! And how lovely if you were to be able to surprise your wedding guests with the news!

And something exciting too that we're going to have a real live sleb on the thread! Let us know how the filming goes, and of course when we'll be able to see you on the telly box :):) glad your ds is on the mend too

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 03/06/2012 18:04

Well one more symptom.. i lost my temper at work and nearly burst into tears. its very unlike me to be grumpy at work. but that could also be the cow bag bully at work getting to me at long last....

Im finding it so hard not to tell dp i think i might be. i want it to be a total surprise when i tell him (if i am)

topbannana · 03/06/2012 20:53

amaze I used to run a pub and kept DS secret until the 12 14 to be sure weeks was up. I laughed and joked and downed copious amounts of alcohol free Becks (if you drink lager, the bottle is identical except the label is blue rather than red. Clutch the bottle very hard round the blue bit and nobody will know!) and "spirit and coke" minus the spirit (admittedly this is easier if you own the place you are drinking in :o)

something glad DS seems to be improving, you must be delighted.

After the possible early MC, DH is possessed of a new vigour. Now he knows he can do it, he seems determined that it will happen. Its almost as though he was slightly unwilling to contemplate it could happen (due to his relicness :o) Now it is a real possibility we have even discussed names (!) and I am slightly on tenterhooks at all times as I am not sure when he may pounce on me, unawares (not that I am complaining you understand :o)

Crown Crown Crown The crown is for no reason, except I admired a rather fine dragon smiley on St Georges day but it was gone before I had the chance to use it- I will not be denied again! Crown Crown Crown

lollypopsicle · 03/06/2012 22:15

top, blue becks was my tipple of choice when pregnant. Found it to be the closest non-alcoholic beer to the real thing. and you're right, there's a few non alcoholic beers that no-one would even realise wasn't the real deal. I was amazed at how many pubs actually sold the stuff!

Persuasion · 04/06/2012 11:47

woman I'll also be testing Friday if ERTD hasn't arrived. I'm 11dpo today, and based on previous cycles ERTD will be due anytime between today and thursday, but I don't feel remotely ERTDish. Fingers crossed but trying not to get my hopes up.

topbanana that sounds promising, a willing DH is key Grin

lolly sorry for bfn but it's not over yet!

All this talk of non alcoholic alternatives is very useful, we have monthly work evenings out and once I'm pg I will need to find a way to look like I'm drinking without the alcohol, looks like nonalcoholic becks is the way forward!

somethingwittynot · 04/06/2012 12:34

ah dont you lot be getting BFPs! ive got to hold out until the 15th!!!!!!

Frakiosaurus · 04/06/2012 13:31

I'm imagining and ignoring symptoms. Not testing because DH is away and if I am I don't want to be dread a 10 hour flight by myself with a toddler in 3,5 weeks.

I have no tips for avoiding drinking but I would smell a rat a mile off with the antibiotics line.

something I think you're insane for going on TV! My worst nightmare Wink just make sure you retain final approval on Amy footage if you and don't sign anything which locks you in. Hope the shop downstairs is okay and DS is better. Your life's almost as good as a soap Grin

Looking like a test-fest Friday!

AWomanCalledHorse · 04/06/2012 13:49

Bastard bastarding ERTD. No indication it was coming atm, it just snuck up on me. I'm so bloody tempted to start using science, we'd rather avoid a summer baby (august born DH's choice) so we're out for this year after the next few ERTD's...would've loved to give him a fathers day BFP (he's sentimental, mushy & it would've been a cheap gift) Grin

amaze, how nice it would be to tell everyone your PG at wedding!
And boo about your horrible cowbag bully.

lolly, my sympathies, I broke the oven early this year (cleaning it!) took a month for the replacement part to turn up/get fitted. Microwaved jacket spuds & cereal?

Fingers are crossed for everyone awaiting POAS!

If you're (directed at everyone who would avoid drink) well-known for your drinking on nights out, could you be doing a non-drink month or 2 for a diet/bet with DH or a mate/non-drinking for charity?

somethingwittynot · 04/06/2012 13:52

sorry ERTD got you woman Sad

dp looked out the window to find that the thieves had been in our shed to luckily we dont have anything in there! pretty sure i oved yesterday but on CD20? WTAF?

Persuasion · 04/06/2012 17:23

Oh no woman sorry ERTD got you Sad when if ERTD comes I'm going to have a gorgonzola wine and chocolate fest I think, to make myself feel better. Have you got something planned to cheer yourself up?

something your life is like a soap opera! I take it nothing of yours is damaged or stolen then? When do you normally ov? Day 20 isn't that late for some people, and post mc anything can happen for the next few cycles from what I've read. Just keep JSing!

frak I'm also imagining and ignoring symptoms. I feel really positive this month but don't want to set myself up for a fall so am trying to temper it a bit but failing miserably.

In terms of not drinking for a one off you can always claim hangover but I don't think it'll work for a hen party! Does avoid suspicion that you're pregnant though.

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 04/06/2012 18:13

If 'im not pregnant ill eat my hat. I cried 5 times at work today.... not just little cries like full on snorting and snot and hiccups... i was going to report cow bag bully and cried...

Sorry ERTD got you woman go out and get trollied while you can xxx

AWomanCalledHorse · 04/06/2012 18:19

Amaze, sounds positive (the symptoms, not the bullying cah), hope you feel better soon & report the cow bag!

Would love to get pished but looking after DS as DH has been working the last 9 days & is at work until 5am. Bloody Crown
Although Persuasion, I did eat an entire bar of Galaxy...making a lard baby instead of a real one!

something, are you going to have to do a seperate report, or have the police covered it? Have you heard anything back about the interweb trolls?

somethingwittynot · 04/06/2012 21:52

so amaze might be doing a kitten. how do you people make it so easy?!

there was nothing in the shed luckily but you can see where they walked over out jungle lawn because the grass has been flattened Grin

i have no clue when i ov but yesterday tons of pants snot and crampy lower back so guess this must be it!

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 04/06/2012 21:55

A kitten???

babylann · 04/06/2012 21:56

Someone who joins the thread for five minutes before getting their BFP Grin

OP posts:
AmazeballsSuperFandango · 04/06/2012 21:59

Well there is no bfp yet.
I wish i had seen this thread 6 months ago.

Persuasion · 05/06/2012 07:42

This is going to be unashamedly me me me. I think ERTD is on it's way, Sad had a little brown tinged cm today. Had felt so different this month really thought this might be it. Had a cry on DH this morning who was very sweet about it but I just feel so disappointed Sad Sad Sad
And have to work today which is rubbish.

Ok, misery over. I want the rest of you lovely people to tell me what you're doing with this extra bank holiday so I can enjoy it vicariously! [Making attempt at perkiness smilie required]

lollypopsicle · 05/06/2012 08:10

persuasion, sorry to hear that. I know how you feel, as most of us do and it's crap Sad
I also know that even though you can see the signs of its eminent arrival there is still something inside you that can't let go of the hope that it still might be so. That is exactly how I feel right now.

I am trying to push it out of my mind and start thinking of the future and present instead. Off to a living museum with DS, my sis and her kids. Then im out with some friends for a girly boozy catch up- making the most of the booze.

Plan something nice to do or book a 'conception moon' for next month (I'm not making that up- google it!!)

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 05/06/2012 12:41

Well I am either pregnant or just a hormonal mess... Spent most of yesterday in tears at stupid things - the way DP talked to me, watching the queen, reading mumsnet thread about telling a DP you're pregnant and so on, which ended up in a big heart to heart about how we are still really only starting to know each other.

In my heart I think I missed the boat this month, we were at my mums for a few days over the crucial period and we both find it a bit awkward knowing everyone is waiting for us to get up and have breakfast (we're morning people!!!) Been doing plenty before and after the trip so there's still hope.

At least I can vent a little here - although judging by last night I wouldn't be surprised if DP is starting to think I am going crazy also... I think ERTD is due at the weekend - so we'll see how that turns out.

Persuasion that sounds so familiar - chin up and hope you feel better soon. (oh and to answer your question - not a dramatic bank holiday - gardening and then some more gardening, with maybe a trip to the garden centre thrown in!)
