Confused by all the TTC talk? OPKs? Taking your temperature?! Then this is the thread for you! We want babies the good old-fashioned way - through drunken, spontaneous shagging at any time of the month Grin. All you need is a man, Wine, ramekins and a batch of cheapo pregnancy sticks, and you're good to go! (Shag-capes and actual Sex optional)

The group is so successful that you can see the results for yourself in our graduates thread full of mamas who JSed their way to motherhood. Getting a BFP within a few weeks is known as "doing a kitten", and due to the secret and magical powers of the Just Shagging thread, this happens from time to time.

We have our own TTC language - EWCM is now known as "pant snot", AF is now "ERTD" (Evil red tide of DOOM!), OV is ovulation, and of course, JSing is Just Shagging!

Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

Old thread is here if you want proof it works!

Come join us!

southlundon · 01/06/2012 19:52

What what what??!!!!! Something what do you mean??!!! Are we going to have a real celeb o. Our thread?! Grin

And Hi to Nicola! My SIL lives in Southport so I know it fairly well :)

And Josie - it's completely understandable. :(

Topbananna I think I'm being dense - why are you going to stop JSing in a month's time?

NicolaHazel · 01/06/2012 20:30

Hi South!

It's been lovely and sunny in Southport today :-)

And we may have 2 of us on TV, as I have a TV company interested in following our first year of marriage! Not too sure we are up for being on TV though. I was up for it until it became an almost reality!!

somethingwittynot · 01/06/2012 22:27

haha yes you are! we start filming this weekend Grin

on the plus side DS is looking good!

Persuasion · 02/06/2012 07:48

something I'm so pleased DS is getting better. You sound really excited about the TV thing. I'd never do anything like that. Much too shy! In fact, feel slightly twitchy that they might read the thread even though they couldn't know who I am!

I'm on my phone on the train so can't read back past the last few posts to name check Grin

5 days until ERTD due and actually no symptoms yet (and I'm doing my best to ignore small pangs which are probably wind). Although DH yesterday commented on my boobs looking bigger. I'm ignoring this though as much as possible, and just waiting to see, but it does make me feel a little bit hopeful. I've lost track a bit of where everyone else is in their cycle. [Blush]

somethingwittynot · 02/06/2012 19:33

i doubt they would read the thread! Grin good day for DS am v happy all round!

LHStripsTease · 02/06/2012 19:43

Hello you all! i have to yet read all your posts, but let me wish u all a good bank holiday forehand.

i have been totally disconnected since my last post. Well, yes, I got a BFP...and I panicked a bit, so I kept a bit away until the BFP was more and more clear. And so we thought. Then I remembered I had a very bad night, I woke up very hot, boiling out of the blue. it seemed it was all fine next day, I bled the day after like pinkish and not more until now. All was good, but I started to miscarry yesterday, ... I went to the EPU for a bad pain in my lower abdomen and back...so when I was told after the blood tests and ultra sound that I was going to miscarry in less than 48 hrs I got sad and like a crab wanting to go 100000 feet under the sea. But after crying in bed and hubby got home, I thought of all of you,... and how much I was on my right to cook a pernicious dinner and seat and drink something alcoholic and a chocolatey dessert... I first dressed up and went to gym for my last swimming until after miscarriage is over ( I swam a lot and fast!) and then cardio this morning, sauna, and shopping. I went to Boots to buy maternity pads... for the miscarriage bleeding,...and the lady told me: "they are upstairs", I took the escalator and as soon as I reach the top floor Boots at oxford street,.. oh! good! It was all maternity and baby items, I burst in tears... so pitiful.. anyways, better now. I just think that they should keep some of those items away from the baby section... for situations like this. Aren't we supposed to be politically correct? so why can't be certain things be "sensitive correct". Ayways... I am fine. Whilst I was in a fitting room, I thought I would take all this as a period, and will erase any conceptualization I built these pass days on me having a little bean growing....

also husband has a bad cold/flue and he is not being very supportive, I am a bit gutted. anyways, feel like taking a plane to visit my mom!

ok ok, all said... nothing else.... just: I am back to just shagging (well, only if hubby improves support and after a month or two....) and drinking, and acting teenager again.... oh! good! I am gonna have a taboule asap!

and yes, now, I will do my homework and will read all your messages!

happy Jubilee!!!!!

somethingwittynot · 02/06/2012 20:05

im so sorry Sad

LHStripsTease · 02/06/2012 20:11

hey something! no worries ! All will be fine! You will see we will be soon in the right tread, I just need to figure out when can I get start shagging again? any ideas/experience on it? last time we waited too long,... and perhaps we could try shagging at least sooner... but I have got my kitchen pantry full of chocolate and wine, before my mom comes next week (planing to invite her) I will have to clear it :) or she will think I went ballistic with my diet!

so, positive thoughts! "Always look at the right side of life!" tara tara taraaaaa! "Always look at the right side of life....!"

Happy Crown!!!!

LHStripsTease · 02/06/2012 20:13

oh! something congrats for the show!!! it will be fun! when will it be broadcasted? You will be the one paying for the wine and chocolate if you become a celebrity :) hehehe!

Greetings to you all truly! little by little we will get there!

babylann · 02/06/2012 20:18

Hi LHStripsTease. I'm so sorry to hear, I came over as soon as I saw your post on the other thread :(

As for your question, I'm quite sure I heard you should wait until after your next period before trying again after miscarriage.

I've literally only just found out and told the important people, my mum and DP's mum, it had crossed my mind a few times that it's still very early days and even that made me feel awful, just the idea of it, so I can only imagine how you must feel. But you seem to be staying positive and trying to focus on the future which is good.

Will see you over in the other thread soon x

OP posts:
Persuasion · 02/06/2012 20:25

I'm so sorry LH Sad
At least you sound like you're coping. I'm not sure how long to wait after mc. Maybe see your GP to ask? I agree about the placement of maternity pads though, a little sensitivity is required. In my supermarket ov and pregnancy sticks are next to condoms and opposite baby stuff, who thinks of this layout??

LHStripsTease · 02/06/2012 20:42

babylann thanks for your support! and no worried all will be fine! I will see you soon at that after shagging thread.. I will start warming motors asap. However, I must admit that since I got into mumsnet, I feel now a bit "emotional" again.. I guess I am not that strong. But I keep singing " always look at the right side of life!" so more shagging soon, wine! (oh! wine! oh! gintonic!) and chocolate...and taboule with all that Parsley!. ahahha! anyways, If I cry again, I promise to not mention it! it will be the wiiiiine!

oh! Persuasion you are so right! the condoms are placed side to side with the pregnancy care et cetera... ahahha! I am sure an insensitive human being is behind BOOTS products layout... let's start a campaign.

Oh! God, calling my GP at my practise is a nightmare. But you are right I will have to go throughout all these things again... when I had the curettage done I was told to wait 2 or 3 months, but this time is just 5 weeks so it should be fine the nurse at the EPU said. Plus, the nurse said that they would call in about 2 weeks to see how is all going, so I will relax, sit back, let my husband drive (but I am gutted at him! he can not do anything! at times like this I really recalled all the other "possible ones" I let pass in my life! ahahaha! and I do tell him to, that we are not yet married, "so improve!".. I must be being irrational or emotional, but hey, it is not so difficult to keep the house organised if I am in bed drinking and eating (ahahah! it sounds so pathetic drinking and eating chocolate in bed...well, perfect if with company)

Anyways ladies.... I should not reply any other threads/answers today, I think that when I am sad I have this tendency to write long threads. TMI.

SO, thanks to you all for letting me be and welcoming me to the Just Shagging again! Yoohoooooo! :)

You are awesome!

Frakiosaurus · 02/06/2012 20:52

Oh LH I'm so sorry :( these things happen and they are shit :( and nothing can make it better :( but yes, layouts can bloody insensitive!

lollypopsicle · 02/06/2012 20:55

Sorry to hear of your loss, LH. Wine and chocolate sounds like an excellent plan x

Had a weird day today. Started off at the out of hrs docs as I noticed a lump on DS's neck. I couldn't face waiting til after the bank hol to see a doc. As you'd expect, Doc said it was glands and probably connected to the virus he had last week but need to keep an eye on it. Still a bit worried having googled swollen cervical glands but not feeling as bad as before. Kids eh! Who'd 'av em!?! Wink

In other news, DP made pizza from scratch but the tray buckled in the oven, pizza fell onto the flame so now no pizza and oven is fucked- mozzarella everywhere. I laughed, DP not happy neither is the oven.

On a positive note, Off to celebrate the jubilee in our local town centre tomorrow. Enjoy the celebrations peeps Smile

if no ertd then I may PIAR tomorrow...

Practisingparent · 02/06/2012 23:11

So sorry to hear about stuff LH Sad. Wine, choc and JS is surely the way forward. Have a lovely shagtastic weekend all!

LHStripsTease · 02/06/2012 23:21

Hello lolly thank you! yes, yes yes to alcohol! I am over 16! :) ... I am still laughing at your oven and rolled pizza (rolling in the flame!) you guys might have created something new to be marketed! ahaha! thanks so much for this. although if I had been you today I would have ended up crying over the oven and hugging it, ahahah! better laugh... how miserable I am today. Poor pizza! I hope you had some dinner after all, and I am sure it was great to see DP dusted with flour.

Thank you Frakiosaurus ! I will try to recover soon and be back on my feet to enjoy JS literally. We just set the sofa bed in living room, and we will sleep here tonight, I think it has been quite convenient to get this m/c just yesterday.. I have a Bank Holiday to recover ;) so cool. I will join the Jubilee celebrations from my window and TV.

But do you girls watched on TV when drinking wine?

sleep tight!

LHStripsTease · 02/06/2012 23:26

oh lolly sorry, hope your PIAR is good... (but, what does PIAR stand for? coud not find it in the acronym section) night night!

babylann · 03/06/2012 00:08

Good luck with PIAR lolly Grin

PIAR stands for pee in a ramekin LH :)

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 03/06/2012 00:31

So sorry for you lh positive things will come

So I'm still convinced that we conceived... I don't know whyi just feel........ Different.
I know its sooo soon but I don't feel like I have the previous 6 cycles.
I don't know if extreme thirst is a symptom but I'm uber thirsty. My friend said she knew on both of hers straight away. Maybe I'm trying to convince myself.
This will be the worst 2ww yet.

I feel like I'm being stupid but my ovaries have been killing me and I don't usually get that..

Help me think of something else or ill go mad.

Just went to see status quo live... On the lashing rain and I don't even like them.

babylann · 03/06/2012 00:54

Can't really convince you otherwise Amazeballs, as that's exactly how I felt and it turned out I was right. Not sure about the thirst thing, but I definitely had very painful ovaries during the month (leading me to think of ectopic pregnancy for a long time earlier in this thread).

AWomanCalledHorse · 03/06/2012 08:09

Hi Nicola

LH, I am so, so sorry. :(
I do hope the chocolate, taboule & wine have been fantastic.
I don't know the science behind it, but apparently you're more fertile after a MC so it really won't be long before you're off with baby, missing the wine! xx

something, glad DS is improving. You're braver than me, I wouldn't do tv (would love to do Come Dine With Me) for fear of being badly edited (and the cringeworthyness of seeing yourself on Dave in 10yr time), you must let us know how it goes!

Amazeballs, different is positive! Seeing the Quo is not so positive!!
Hope the person who you went for enjoyed the gig? Saw AC/DC for DH a few years back, hated it.

lolly hope DS is back to being unlumpy soon!
What a waste of mozzarella, poor cheese...who is going to clean the oven?!
.

If my ERTD isn't here by Friday (I know, a while off) then I'll be PIAR too!

Crown because I can!

NicolaHazel · 03/06/2012 09:18

God, Amaze, if they are symptoms then I have them too...but can't believe I'd get pregnant immediately I stopped the pill!

I am NOT going to symptom spot (too much) though, as it would drive me mad. Plan A is to see if AF arrives, which isn't a given anyway straight after finishing the pill, but if she doesn't, test on 30th.

You deserve a BFP after suffering Status Quo!

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 03/06/2012 10:45

We had free tickets to a music festival in our town and alot of our friends were going (or so we thought) so we popped along. Friday night was brilliant, Maverick sabre and the original rude boys so we thought maybe some of the bands would be good last night.... we were wrong.

It was hard for me to explain what i meant whilst typing on my phone last night. Thirst isn't the only thing. but i feel so silly even thinking it after 5 days.

I don't think i'm imagining the feeling as this is the worst time for me to get pg. I'm getting married in 8 weeks.

NicolaHazel · 03/06/2012 10:56

8 weeks isn't too bad, depending on the, dress. I had this discussion on another thread as I'm getting married in 4 months!

Though your wedding day drinking will be curtailed somewhat if you are pregnant!

At least you didn't pay to see the Quo!!
