Confused by all the TTC talk? OPKs? Taking your temperature?! Then this is the thread for you! We want babies the good old-fashioned way - through drunken, spontaneous shagging at any time of the month . All you need is a man, , ramekins and a batch of cheapo pregnancy sticks, and you're good to go! (Shag-capes and actual Sex optional)

The group is so successful that you can see the results for yourself in our graduates thread full of mamas who JSed their way to motherhood. Getting a BFP within a few weeks is known as "doing a kitten", and due to the secret and magical powers of the Just Shagging thread, this happens from time to time.

We have our own TTC language - EWCM is now known as "pant snot", AF is now "ERTD" (Evil red tide of DOOM!), OV is ovulation, and of course, JSing is Just Shagging!

Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex

With both DDs though I rather find the tests a bit odd - they tell you that you are pg but otherwise I need to have some other symptoms to actually KNOW I am growing a baby.

I remember going to see my GP after my BFP with DD1 and it was actually an anticlimax - I had thought she would do a test and confirm everything but she just said 'well done' and told me to make an app with the MW which was in about 4 weeks' time.

Anyway, ERTD arrived yesterday so I am out for this month but already thinking about the JSing for the coming weeks

We are house swapping next week - not sure about conceiving in someone else's bed...

top I had a v. early miscarriage last year. Exactly as you describe, except my period was a week late. I felt much like you, couldn't bring myself to get desperately upset about it failing so early on in the process. I wasn't looking to get pregnant then either (though it wouldn't have been a disaster, by any means) which helped, I think.

Welcome amazeballs - you will remind me of my (much) younger cousin everytime I see your name as she is the only person I know who uses that phrase (old gimmer alert).

I am symptom spotting like a loon here. Not meant to be doing it. Really not meant to be doing it. JSing is not about symptom spotting.

But I am on CD26ish, knackered, hugely emotional, bloated, boob achy and generally pissed off which means either I'm updiffed or more likely ERTD is on its way

Quick update from me - I'm trying short protocol IVF next with a different drug to last time in the hope that I'll respond better, but I have to wait until October due to waiting list. So I'm not best pleased but hey ho. I'm going to spend the rest of the summer enjoying my garden and my horse, then I'll have IVF and get pg with twins just before winter, when I don't do anything fun anyway, so maybe it's this way for a reason

Sorry to hear you have to wait until October, but at least that means you still get to enjoy at barbecues for the rest of this beautiful summer! It does, however, mean you'll be heavily pregnant (with twins!) in May/June/July - when, if the last two years are anything to go by, there will be glorious heatwaves which I would never recommend to a pregnant person.

It's all worth it though! And being able to take your newborn out in the summer without worrying about all the raincovers and huge snowsuits is a plus.

I've been a bit hacked off and stressed these past few days - lots of things going on especially the damn publication I told you about last week. Of course, I didn't get TONS done the past two days and I've just got off my teleconference with boss and Big Boss and I managed to lie blag it

I think I probably OVd yesterday but I was in a huff with various things and then couldn't be bothered last night so have probably missed the boat this month, which of course makes me even more fed up like a vicious circle.

Although DH did instigate some rather nice morning JSing today which was lovely

Right, must get on with my work now I've agreed to some very stupid tight deadlines because of my blagging which I hope will give me the kick up the bum I need

I forgot to add that my mum asked at the weekend if we were thinking of having another. )She's very careful about asking these sort of things -even though we are very close- because some years back she asked a friend if she was trying for a baby and the friend was unable to have children so my mum was horrified and vowed never to ask or assume again.)

Anyway I said we'd been trying for a year and she said 'are you taking your temperature etc' so I said no, we're JSing getting in lots of practice . I got a bit upset that it hadn't happened yet but thinking about it, I've only really been paying attention to my potential OV dates for the past few months anyway.

The best thing was that my mum said they had been trying for 6 months for me, then they moved house and only got to JS once that month... And out I popped nine months later! So she was being lovely and telling me that it just takes one time to make a baby - bless her.

Or that it's going to stop me JSing as much as I can be bothered to in the meantime but it's a calming thought

Well, my cheap sticks came. :) I took one with a much clearer result!

Hmm.. There was one occasion where we had sex on the bathroom floor while DP was washing hair dye out of my hair (in the break between putting conditioner on and washing it out). Apart from that it was quite standard. I poke my bum up after sex to stop it leaking out of me, but that was mostly because I hate it leaking out of me, not because it's better to conceive that way (although I've heard it is!)

Oh please let it have been the time on the bathroom floor whilst dyeing your hair! :o

Haha! Well, it'll be hard to figure out. Since I don't have a regular cycle, I can only put in my old pre-DD cycle which was 35 days into the calculator, and that implies I should have conceived 5 days ago which surely wouldn't be yielding BFPs just yet!

Will have to wait for the dating scan for proof of that, and even they aren't always right!

I'm also hoping it was the bathroom sex that did it, @ makes notes 2 try 2 entice dp I 4 session in there jumping out naked and wiggling my bum at him when he goes 2 brush his teeth 2nite.

I've now taken 3 tests, each one slightly fainter than the one before. I only wish they had arrived earlier so I could use FMU! Tomorrow I will. I want a proper dark line.

Weeeell, I just bought a 25 pack of PG tests, would have been a shame to only use one.

Evening ladies, can I join you? I'm on my way home from getting my coil taken out, pregnacare in my handbag, gearing up for snagging with intent tonight (on the bathroom floor, apparently!).

We have on DD, who is 2.5y, and last time I did the whole ovulation tests, temperature charting thing - it was exhausting! This time I'm hoping to be a bit more laid back.

ERTD has already been and gone. Has always been something of a non-event but 2 days seems VERY short. It has made me wonder whether I am actually ovulating.

Working on this being a 28 days cycle and the last one 26 days, I am going to try to pay close attention and see if I notice any potential OV pains in about 13-14 days. Of course, by then we will be in the middle of our half-term house swap so will probably forget all about it.

Pleased for you babylann - if I had 25 pregnancy tests I suspect I would use more than one of them as well to confirm! We would never have sex on our bathroom floor as it would be both freezing and uncomfortable.

Well, looks like the ERTD is on its way here. Had some brown spotting, mild cramping and felt a bit sick this morning, which is likely to be my body gearing up for the full on flood. I am in a much better mood than yesterday as well - I was in a foul humour. I really want a beer but feel strangely guilty about the idea until ETRD is properly here, god knows why.
