The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

I love my Mooncup. I still think that is a weird thing to be saying on an internet forum.

I've got hooked into a random Father Ted I've found on more 4 now, bugs. Am too fecked off with everything to sleep.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 31/05/2012 22:13

Yes to both :) I want to have ICs to fuel the menkul - y'know POAS when droids already here etc. yes mooncups are awesome bugs. I got sore with tampons soon. For some reason there's no sanitary bins at work which makes it a bit tricky to dispose of them! With the moon cup, generally I don't fill it too full but I take a small bottle of water with me if I know it'll be an issue. I even used it when I went camping last year! Generally you can get away with emptying it in the day time and then giving it a proper wash at night. I kept looking at it in Boots, finally bit the bullet. I've really hated using tampons since the fire, will be glad to have a mooncup again :) Plus it costs about £17 and last forever or until you lose it! and no scrabbling for old tampons in bags. Sorted.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 31/05/2012 22:16

X posts. I had that attitude today. He's tired from moving all day. 'twas only when I hobbled to the door he realised I was in pain and exhausted from working on the ward! Father Ted is awesome
Dor your mooncup will be stuffed in a cupboard for a while! Grin

I am a mooncup convert too. I like the fact that on lighter days they can stay in all day. No hassle. I try to use the disabled bog on mooncup days so I can rinse if out but if I can't I just wipe it. I do find I have to use a little bit of lube to get it in though.

I am feeling rather unsettled this evening. I spoke to my parents on the phone earlier. My dad has developed a severe cough out of nowhere. He's 63 and was a heavy smoker for years until he gave up 15 years ago. He already has a mild, controlled form of bladder cancer. I am TERRIFIED. His best friend (like an uncle to me), also a heavy smoker, got a cough out of nowhere a few years ago. After a few rounds of antibiotics, the GP eventually referred him. It was cancer of the larynx. He had his larynx removed and had no voice. He died anyway, in a pool of blood on his bathroom floor. He was found by his teenage son. I have been through my mum having breast cancer and bone cancer in the last few years. I can't deal with this. I am feeling very sad and scared. I am not going to be able to relax until either the antibiotics turn out to cure it (which I hope will be the case but do not expect) or he has every test under the sun and they can't find anything bad. I have a tense few weeks ahead. Meh.

Sorry for the dark post. I just wanted to get that out there.

Northey · 31/05/2012 23:03

Unsettled must be putting it mildly. I can't imagine how scared and anxious you are, and am so sorry you've had the experiences you have in this area.

What is your father doing about it? Is he the sort to go back if the antibiotics don't work? Or does he have to be forced through the doctor's door?

Is KFZK around?

ShredniVashtar · 31/05/2012 23:06

euro Sad so sorry to hear about your uncle and your dad. It's totally understandable that you're feeling scared and stressed. It's really disconcerting when parents are ill. Can only hope it's not as bad as it seems and that tests come back ok. Hope you feel better for posting and are able to get some sleep and a brighter outlook tomorrow.

ShredniVashtar · 31/05/2012 23:08

Xpost and just realised it was friend, bony uncle. Sorry.

ShredniVashtar · 31/05/2012 23:09

Oh god, "not", not "bony", obviously. I'll stop now before I get any more stupid.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 31/05/2012 23:13

don't worry shreds it's late
euro it's natural to be worried, especially with what you've faced before. How long did he have the cough before he saw the doc? Doc obviously thinks its a chest infection if he's on antibiotics? Yes the fact that he was a heavy smoker adds to the worry but he quit which is a very good thing! Remember - Reality is kinder than thd stories we tell ourselves about it.

Northey · 31/05/2012 23:23

Hopefully you're at this second doing that thing where you are so tense and unhappy you think you'll never sleep, but your body has mercy and knocks you out cold. Youll still be sad and worried in the morning, but you'll be able to deal with those feelings better. I'm so sorry it's happening, but like faithy says, our minds naturally go to the worst case scenario, but strong chance is that that's not the one that will come true.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 01/06/2012 08:36

Morning all!

Oh euro so sorry about your worries about your father and all you have faced already in your family. I am keeping everything crossed he'll be okay. Keep a close watch. My father has battled with cancer (and won, thanfully) before so I sort of know how it feels. I really hope you got some sleep last night!

I did not sleep much, because the spotting went away again and I was thinking every 5 minutes, this morning I can go for a blood test... Until I got up for the morning and there droid arrived. With a vengance. So annoyed. There were worky worries and stresses as well, so all in all I am a greenish lemon today...

Sorry you feel so bad still, faif if you're hobbling after a day at work. Although I am most shocked by the absence of sanitary bins at work Confused that is plain weird.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 01/06/2012 08:41

Missed the page with the huge boobs, any news on that bugs?

Sorry about your droidal invasion norf, although it does sound like clomid is doing good things. And for what it is worf, we are unexplained, so perfect eggs, hormones and swimmers. And no hint of a BFP in 23 months...

CaveMum · 01/06/2012 09:07

Morning everyone, posting from the hospital waiting room while I wait for my blood test. I know I haven't ov'd yet but it'll be interesting to see what the clinic say about the bloods after last time Hmm

Euro sorry to hear about your dad. I know something of how you feel, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer 6 years ago but thankfully he has the non-aggressive form and it appears to be almost dormant. As others gave said, we always tend to assume the worst case scenario and things rarely are as bad as we fear.

Lemon grr for droidal invasion [dispatches troops].

Faithy hope you are feeling better and that you get all moved in over the weekend.

Bugs how are those buzwams?!

HRHCavey · 01/06/2012 10:12

[name change for the weekend]

Loving the bunting and "Ma'amsnet" Grin

eurochick · 01/06/2012 12:07

Thanks ladies. I know I am thinking the worst before it has happened but it seems so familiar after what happened to "Uncle" Rog. :( It'll be a waiting game for a while to see if the antibiotics do anything, and if not then me and my mum will have to get nagging. Like many men, my dad takes a "bury head in sand" approach to his health.

lemons sorry to hear about the Droid's visit. Do you think you will go for IVF? I am still struggling to get my head around having a medical procedure when i am undiagnosed, but I am getting increasingly desperate to just end the misery of ttc. I really thought IUI might do the trick, but we've given it two gos now with no success. This is cycle 20 for us.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 01/06/2012 12:23

Afternoon ladies.

Still at the hospital Cave? Love the name change.

Euro, have a cheeky squeeze. It's rubbish isn't it? My mums ok now, but after her cancers I fear everytime she mentions a cold or ache (or the pyelonephritis she ignored till she needed admission). Hope the antibiotics kick in.

Sorry the droid got you norf and driz. And sorry you're still not 100% faife

The metal fecker still AWOL from my life. Cd 42. Meant to poas this morning, pre hen do, but forgot! Surely a good sign of managing the menkul, no? Might buy one tonight on my drive up north to do tomorrow morning, to make sure no baybee pickling goes on.

eurochick · 01/06/2012 12:42

I'm the same with my mum Sinking - thinking every ache or pain must be the return of the Big C. Not helped by the fact that it actually was a stiff neck that alerted us to the bone secondary.

Well done at managing the menkulling!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/06/2012 12:53

I'm the same with Dad now, even though his prostate cancer is treatable I still sobbed when I heard it had come back!

Good non-menkulling sinky. Weird long cycle though Hmm

Oh by the way does this work?
Crown

Northey · 01/06/2012 13:17

Like a charm, fee.

FriendofDorothy · 01/06/2012 13:36

I am royally fucked off.

Was meant to go and see a patient on the ward today but she has suspected chickenpox and pregnant women have been advised not to go to the ward. So, I phoned up and told the nurse that I couldn't go and he said 'oh are you not immune'... to which I should have replied 'none of your business', BUT he really threw me and I told him I couldn't go because I am pregnant. next thing I hear he has told this nasty, manipulative, p[ersonality disordered patient that I am not attending because I am pregnant. I definitely did not want my patients being told I am expecting yet, and I certainly did not want her to know. So, AIBU?

HRHCavey · 01/06/2012 13:45

Well within your rights to be angry Dor, can you file a complaint with anyone over it?

Took ages at the hospital, though I'm not complaining. There was a young woman with Downs in front of me in the queue and she got very distressed poor thing. She was crying and calling for her mum (who was there with her) and it took both of the nurses on duty to distract her/calm her down to get the sample.

Still getting a High on shag dictator, so hoping it turns to a peak over the weekend - HWHNN and I are together for 5 whole days, a miracle!
