Morning everyone. I'm on my phone and at work so don't have time to name check everyone but I am laying out waffles and fruit salad for an early brunch, so dig in.

mumtum I'm sorry that you can't start trying again until after the test results. I know exactly how you feel. I desperately want to be pregnant again as it feels so wrong not to be.

The urge to POAS was overwhelming today, but I managed to resist by moving the tests to the downstairs bathroom last night. So when I woke this morning they weren't in reach when I went to the loo Blush. I'm going to try and hold out until Monday, then try and hold out some more. I know I'd be devastated if it's a BFN, so would rather delude myself maintain my optimism for a while longer.

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the sunshine!

leedy · 25/05/2012 14:34

In "me me me" news... So apparently my blood pressure was slightly up in my 24 hour test, so the GP said to go ahead and take the "very mild" hypertension meds recommended by the hospital doctor I saw. Off I went, got the meds, took my first dose, only to see in huge letters on the patient info leaflet that they shouldn't be taken by anyone with a history of depressive illness. MY POST NATAL DEPRESSION IS ON MY FILE, HOSPITAL DOCTOR, FFS. Rang GP, GP said it was a rare interaction but to stop taking them, now need to see next week if ongoing pregnosity reduces BP of own accord or else I'm back on the anti-explode drugs I was on last time. At least the worst they did was make me feel slightly spacey.

Oh, and my GP couldn't find the heartbeat with his doppler because apparently teenyleedy was lying directly under one of my arteries (which was whooshing away) and would not move. Have to get that checked again next week too (though am not too concerned after good scan on Tuesday).

CAN I JUST GET A NICE UNCOMPLICATED PREGNANCY IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR GRRR.

MarthasHarbour · 25/05/2012 19:36

wow what a day for exciting news! you go blue so what is all this Ian and contractions? Hmm is it some sort of annoying bloke who tells you to 'get on with it and how hard can it be?' Grin

excellent scan news for jaffa and kirrin and jaffa i did think your DDs comment about picking daisies was.just.adoooorable!

so; onto me, i have had rather a day of it. i went to the MW with DS this morning, she was really lovely, when she asked about my history i mentioned my 10 week MC and said 'as an aside i have had two CPs' thinking she would do an impression of my mother (its just a late period dear Angry) but she asked me all about them and noted them in my history. I asked if there was any chance of an early scan and she said due to numbers of the large area and Trusts merging etc that there was no way, i was fine as i expected that answer.

She asked if i was ok so i mentioned the 'grunge' she then picked up the phone and said, 'right then with your history i am getting you to EPU this afternoon' Shock

so me and DS trooped off to EPU and met DH there (boris i thought of you as the directions to the new EPU were shite). I got there and a lovely obstetrician/sonographer bloke (yes bloke - but i have found that the bloke obs/gynae seem to be more sympathetic). I got scanned, he said that there was a little 'black blob' which he thought should be the sac but he wanted to do the dildocam Hmm so he did that and the 'black blob' was more prominent, he said it was definitely the sac and it was in the right place, he said the measurement was small but was indicitave of a 5 and a half week pregnancy Grin

He wants me to come back in 2 weeks for another scan, he said that in laymans terms it looks to be ok but he wants to check just to be sure.

So, thanks to the 'grunge' i am being well looked after and have sort of circumvented the system, DH said not to think like that as the grunge happened and i do have the history so i am more than entitled to more scans.

We skipped out of the EPU and off to Sainsbo's for ice lollies!!! It is still early days and things may not work out = but today i am pregnant! Grin

MarthasHarbour · 25/05/2012 19:37

and it has saved us £75 for a private scan!! Grin

WhyAlwaysBoris · 25/05/2012 19:40

Hello everyone, gosh it is quiet in here tonight- I hope you are all out enjoying the sunshine.

Leedy, no its not too much to ask for, you poor thing. Well done for looking after you and the baby by reading the leaflet must start doing that I hope it settles down before next week.

confusedmum moving the tests downstairs....i like your style.

mumtum hope day without painkillers went ok. I feel that sadness too.

Glad things are progressing well kirrin and tits

My MC started today, not too bad so far. In a weird way i feel relieved because i hope this means it might be all over before next weekend when it is the due date for my boy who died in January.

Can anyone tell me how long an early one tends to take?

Just got another PM from a journalist about the other thread. Some woman from the Daily Telegraph- said she'd read the thread and would like to interview me. Ended by congratulatiing me on the pregnancy. Not read the whole thread, then....Hmm

x post with Martha so brilliant it went well today, and that you get another scan in two weeks. You are more than entitled to good care, so glad you seem to be getting it :)

YikesHereWeGo · 25/05/2012 20:52

Oh boris, I feel so awful for you. I hope the horridness is all over and done with quickly, defo before next weekend. fx. My mc, a couple of weeks ago, was when the weather was all gloomy and miserable (reflecting my mood) and the sunshine has made me feel a lot better. Plus I'm managing to convince myself like a lunatic that I'll fall preggo quickly. Mc is utterly rubbish isn't it?! I've never noticed so many pregnant people in my entire life. I really hope you can start ttc-ing again very very soon. I was 10 weeks when I mc'd and the 'proper' bleeding lasted about a week with the spotting lasting another week. All finished now fingers crossed.

Mumtum - I know exactly how you feel. Ditto.

Martha - fab news about the lollies scan. It's so exciting seeing blobs isn't it?! I was told at the hospital yesterday that if when I fell preggo again I will get an early scan for free due to my weird "heart-shaped" uterus. You must be so so relieved to have seen your lo. So pleased for you :o

Leedy - it never ceases to amaze me how crap some doctors can be, don't they realise this stuff is IMPORTANT!!!! At least you had the good sense to read the instructions. I don't think I would be that sensible, but good on you!

Kirrin & tits - good work, you two. Keep it up :o

leedy · 25/05/2012 21:18

Aw, brilliant news Martha, and it sounds like you're being really well looked after.

And boris, so sorry to hear it but hopefully it will all be over soon. I know what you mean about it feeling kind of like a relief. Thinking of you.

MarthasHarbour · 25/05/2012 21:24

oh boris i am sorry Sad expected i know but we will all take extra care of you. my early MCs lasted about a week IIRC, i tried to trick myself that they were just a heavy AF. I truly do feel your pain. xx

kirrinIsland · 25/05/2012 22:17

So sorry boris I hope it's over quickly.

Martha glad to hear to you being well looked after. Those extra scans do make all the difference to your peace of mind.

leedy a straight forward pregnancy, with no dramas, is definitely not too much to ask for! Hope you are feeling ok.

I've had an uneventful day - just pottering round the garden with DD and eating everything I can see! When will that stop? I'm going to be enormous soon if I don't get a grip....

ConfusedMumDotCom · 25/05/2012 23:22

Hi ladies. Sorry that this one is a totally me me me.

Just realised that by my calculations if I did ovulate when I thought I might of in the WTF cycle, then I'll only be 10 DPO tomorrow. I've only ever got BFPs on 15 DPO. So I am daring AF to arrive by wearing white PJs tonight and maybe white clothing until next weekend. Will now definitely wait until at least Monday to POAS.

ConfusedMumDotCom · 26/05/2012 06:59

Ok. I cracked. BFN Sad. I'm ok, I think it will still be too early. With my previous BFPs there were only vvv faint lines at DPO 15.

Anyway. It is a GLORIOUS morning. I hope you all have a good day.

WhyAlwaysBoris · 26/05/2012 07:20

Hi confusedmum sorry you got a bfn this morning, fx it is just a bit too early.

I think you should be appointed our 'head of testing avoidance strategies' (just been reading the corporate twaddle thread) as the white PJs another cracking idea on top of the briliant putting the tests downstairs plan. :)

OP posts:
Midgetm · 26/05/2012 08:45

Morning all.

confused balls to BFN, does sound too early though So hold off a few more days.

Kirrin I am eating constantly. I weight gain still not so had but think it is going to go through the roof soon

martha According to St Mary's reassurance scans improve outcomes. They can't say why, try just do. I ha one every 2 weeks (even once a week a couple of times) up until 12 weeks and now every 4. It's not cheating anything and I would fiat fight anyone who dates to say it was. Grunge is gunge and needs checking out. Roll in the next 2 dog weeks.

boris glad it has started. Sooner mended and all that. Managed to read some of your other thread. The journalist is just as insensitive as that hospital. Congratulations? FFS. How difficult is it to read a whole thread in your research ok so I didn't but I was on my phone so maybe I'm being a bit of a judgey pants but I'm not a journalist here's hoping the MC is as quick and painless as possible.

Still pregnant. Doppler and little movements keeping me sane. Slight chance I may have obstetric colitis. Waiting to hear if I have to go get my liver scanned. Should have not googled what this could mean. Google bad. I think stillbirth unlikely if managed well but not something a metaller needs to see from Dr Google. Managing to keep a lid on the metalling for now, hoping its just a rogue result like the syphilis one.

Baby brain has forgotten to name.check everyone. Best get out of bed and enjoy this lovely day.

Midgetm · 26/05/2012 08:47

I hate autocorrect

I would fiat fight? Fist fight

Weight gain not so had... Bad

The list continues...

ConfusedMumDotCom · 26/05/2012 09:10

Thanks Boris. I hope you are doing ok today.

On the plus side all hormones have left my body, so either it is too early to test or AF is around the corner and I'll begin to know what my body is up to. Win win I say.

ConfusedMumDotCom · 26/05/2012 09:29

Haven't had a chance to read back up the thread so apologies for lack of personal responses but just wanted to pop on and let you know that mini blue, now known as Maxwell finally arrived at 6.20 am this morning!! I am utterly exhausted after losing 3 nights sleep but it's all very much been worth it!

kirrin, congrats on your scan.

Martha, I'm glad you got your scan, glad it showed all is going well.

Have to go, DD is needing me, but waves to everyone. X

kirrinIsland · 26/05/2012 12:39

Congratulations blue - what fanastic news Grin. Hope you are all doing well. Take care xxx

YikesHereWeGo · 26/05/2012 12:42

Congratulations blue!!!!!!!!!! - and welcome & happy birthday to little Maxwell (cuuute name!!) :o When you get a mo we'd love to hear the gory details Blush if that's the done thing on here?

Confused - you did make me chuckle (-is that bad?) with your two posts, the one saying about the white PJ's, the next saying you'd cracked and tested super-early. Sorry to hear you haven't got your BFP yet, but it sounds like you've got a plan of action to get you through the next few days/weeks.

I did an HCG test and a LH test this morning. The HCG was +, the LH -. So I guess the preggo hormones are still not out of my system (?) although I feel totally back to normal and the bleeding stopped a while ago. My temp is consistently 36.12 which I think is a pre-ovulation temp, but not 100% sure as have never done all this charting stuff before. So no idea whether ovulation/AF is around the corner or whether I have weeks to wait. Ah well, the temp charting is a distraction and stalking reading everyone else's posts on here is fun too.

This time next week I'll be just about to walk down the aisle - yippee. Only 4 more days at work til 12 days off. Now that's something to look forward to :o

StateofConfusion · 26/05/2012 12:49

Huge congratulations blue and a welcome to baby Maxwell, I love that name :)

Xxx

Midgetm · 26/05/2012 13:06
