See a Rat. Smack it.

OP posts:
GenericDietCola · 18/03/2012 19:50

Thanks for the new fred Little! And hurrah on getting to day 24. I'm on day 22 and last cycle my AF came this day, so that's an improvement at least.

Scarlett and Maybe sorry re BFNs but I am a bit excited about the shadow Maybe and the spooky preggo magazine

Shiny well doe - am brooking for you this month.

Stasi hope you are feeling a bit better.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend. This is the lucky thread, I can feel it rat smacketeers!

shinyblackgrape · 18/03/2012 21:29

sparkle - but 8 dpo perhaps.....could be the start of something... Got everything crossed.

friend - thank you. I'm like a bloody basket case. Every twinge, I'm running off to the loo to check. Back to work tomorrow do that should help take mind of things. On Friday I was saying a silent prayer at the photocopier, thinking please let me still be pregnant when I come in on Monday. What a twit! Just need to take it a day at a time and I'll be straight at the GPs if I have another miscarriage.

generic - thank you. Hope all going well with you?

stasi - sorry re the RSI. The iPad should help though Grin

ScarlettInSpace · 18/03/2012 22:41

Oh grape deffo everything crossed, am totally sure this is your sticky bean x

So far so weird here. No cramps, no sore boobies, none of the usual symptoms but just got proper pink blood spotting [TMI] I usually get spotting of the brown variety Blush...

I'm starting to feel like my body is just taking the piss out of me now, changing everything every cycle Angry

anyhoo, I'm in a stinking mood again so I'm off to bed, see y'all tomorrow [in a metaphorical way iykwim]

Loving the new thread, will need a bit to catch up all the old thread posts but read through this one and how exciting coming back to a possible triple combo of BFPs on the horizon with Grape, Maybe & Scarlett - brooking super hard for all of you. What an AM-AZ-ING start that would be for the new thread. I am already looking forward to the celebration routine Imps will have in store for us GrinGrinGrin

Hope everyone else is ok too, I will catch up later this morning, I think I saw mention of Far having good news at her scan.

Had a fantastic holiday and SWI timing was perfect with egg popping Fri so will know in about 10 days if it has the desired result. Poor DH says he doesn't have the stamina for a 2 week holiday Blush. I will be so gutted if that rat hasn't been well and truly smacked this cycle.

I will be popping back between catching up with the old thread news, doing loads of washing, going to the supermarket etc, back to work for a rest tomorrow. Wink

GenericDietCola · 19/03/2012 08:57

Morning all!

Scarlett all sounds very confusing. Hope things become clear soon.

Sparks I have heard some cycles of people 'gearing up' to ovulate, but then not releasing the egg, so your body might have done that and be about to really ovulate now. I'm no expert though!

Olives I forgot to say yesterday sorry you are having side effects from the steroids. When will you take them until? Is it all through the first tri or throughout the whole pregnancy (you are of course preggo this month being a rat smacker).

Maybe did any CC get PI this morning? Hmm?

Shiny I understand the mentalling all too well, but just take it a day at a time.

I feel distinctly premenstrual and no preggo symptoms at all, so I'm sure AF is on her way today or tomorrow. Oh well, Christmas baby for me!

GenericDietCola · 19/03/2012 08:58

X-posts Sweetie - wow lovely tan! You are glowing and clearly up the duff after such excellent rat smacking on hols!

beangrower · 19/03/2012 08:59

Hello Smacketeers - thanks for finding us this lovely Rat-Set Inn (complete with snug and glowing fire embers, and possibly the odd glass of port?)

Maybe - went into JojoMB on Sat. A bit of torture for self though DS is still young enough for me to justify it, just about. Love your DH's positive actions!

Congrats shiny. Hoping this one is the one!

Hi Stasi - hope you're on the mend?

Happy Mother's Day Whims - and all you Smacketeers as you are all going to be mums exceedingly soon.

Lovely weekend all?

Wales won the Grand Slam. Does that mean I get a BFP this month too? Well obviously - because we all will. And the Beans now own an estate car so obviously expect to fill it with babies.

DS had first night away from home on Sat - with his Godfathers. He was really good though apparently did ask where we were every other minute! And told them to 'Wake up!' from his travel cot at 6.30am!

We went out for dins for DP's birthday - with mates. V nice. Eerily quiet in the morning as you can imagine.

CBFM news (may be relevant for some?) - went straight from low to peak this morning at cd13 (actually 14 as AF arrived in the eve so set monitor next day). This is v diff to last month. Wonder if I'm a total freak to go straight to peak . Anyway - set DS in front of Bob the Builder with his wheetabix and whisked DP off to the bedroom for a morning quickie. Wink

TTFN.

PopcornMouseInBoots · 19/03/2012 10:43

Gooood Monday brookers. I hope everyone's weekend was as fun-filled as mine?

Sorry to hear about the rash of fake BFNs - just too early, I reckon. Silly pee-sticks. Angry

little great to hear you're having a nice long cycle :) When is AF not due?

My sister went into Hobbs (of Fabulous Bakers Brothers fame) Saturday and bought me some sourdough bread and sourdough starter so I can fail to make my own - and she had the pleasure of being served by Henry

Interesting convo with DMother too - apparently they tried for 4 years for me, had tests and all sorts which came back fine. I'm no.5 though so she'd been pretty fertile beforehand (and she'd had her tubes tied and untied to have me, but the hosp checks were a-ok).
So it did make me think maybe there's something hereditary going on as I'm not far off the same age (28 vs her 30 when she started ttc me)? Either way, if we want more than one I'm now thinking we need to get a wiggle on - not much waiting after no.1 iyswim. (She also divulged she did BBT charting - I was Shock and wish I'd discussed it all with her sooner tbh. That'll teach me for being fiercely private).

ScrambledSmegs · 19/03/2012 11:07

Morning all. I suspect I may be even more sporadic than usual now I've got my FDN (Fucking Flipping Depressing News), but thought I'd check in to see how you all are.

shiny - this is GOOD NEWS, yes?! Congratulations, hope it's a sticky!

Sorry to hear about the BFN's. It will be your time soon, I know!

bean, I'm having CBFM issues too - I went to high fertility on CD8, peak on CD9 & 10, and now I'm back down to high. First - that was bloody quick. Second - my AMH is tomorrow! FFS, how peed off am I?!

Had a nice weekend anyway - Alton Towers was good fun, and it only started raining towards the very end! Mothering Sunday was lovely too, we had both families together and went out for a meal. DD was so excited at having both grandmothers together she nearly exploded Grin

PopcornMouseInBoots · 19/03/2012 11:24

Good luck tomorrow smegs - what does it involve? Is it a blood test?

Just got a call - my scan in next Tues, yay! Equal parts excited and terrified :)

ScrambledSmegs · 19/03/2012 11:49

Ah flip. I'm having an HSG tomorrow (the one with the dye and the ultrasound), not an AMH. The AMH is the one that destroyed my hope of another child while simultaneously charging me £30 for the privalege...

Congrats Popcorn! FX for you :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/03/2012 11:59

Oh Smegs you poor thing. You really are going through it at the moment aren't you. I hope all goes well tomorrow for the HSG. I am still feeling a BFP coming your way. We laugh in the face of AMH, we are brookers Smile

Pop that's fab news!! I am so excited for you.

Shiny congratulations!!! I am brooking for a sticky one this time. Are you going to have an early scan? It's totally understandable to be worried. We are here for hand holing Smile

Bean am loving your bob the builder distraction technique Wink Rugby win and an estate car? That BFP is yours.

Generic no symptoms = a symptom. No CC action for me this am Grin

Sweetie how was your holibobs?

cakes82 · 19/03/2012 12:00

HSG thats a good thing, BFP on its way!

PopcornMouseInBoots · 19/03/2012 12:07

I can't believe I forgot to congratulate shiny! Big big congrabulations! Tis understandable to be worried - when was AF due? Once that date's past, you're past the biggest danger zone?

:( smegs you really have been through the mill. The HSG can only help, though, like cakes says? A nice little rinse and repeat for your tubeys to help clear the path for sperm-meets-egg :)

ScrambledSmegs · 19/03/2012 12:08

Thanks maybe, would be more positive for this month if I hadn't already ovulated :( Wish I'd got my appointment last week instead.

Also - TMI alert- I have a lump. In my groin (on pubic bone). It's been there for a couple of weeks. It has grown quite big suddenly and is now sore. It's a bit like a very deep down spot. I should go to the GP, yes? DH thinks I'm over-reacting and it will go away of it's own accord. I, however, am of the opinion that he knows nothing and I would rather a qualified medical professional told me I was being silly, than a software programmer with a google compulsion.

PopcornMouseInBoots · 19/03/2012 12:13

How big is it, smegs ? Could it be an ingrown hair or anything of that nature? But yes, personally I'd go and get it checked out - it's not worth the worry of not, imho.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/03/2012 12:13

I would go and get in checked Smegs if for nothing more than piece of mind

GenericDietCola · 19/03/2012 12:16

Smegs that is sod's law to ov so soon and not be able to smack the rat due to the HSG but I hope the HSG helps in some way nevertheless. At least if there is anything you can do to improve/maximise egg production (supplements?) you will be all systems go for next month. I appreciate you have had your FDN, but I do hope this is not the end of the road. In fact I am brooking.

Yay Pops re scan date!

Bean what a nice weekend. That BFP is coming your way I am sure.

Maybe you shouldn't have dodged the CC. Pee tomorrow please!

CD1 here, darn and blast. Can someone strong give the witch a punch in the face? Or perhaps we should all gang up and maybe play British Bulldog with her or something to properly scare her away.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/03/2012 12:36

Oh Generic, she's a cow. I'm big and strong, let me at her...

whimsicalname · 19/03/2012 13:06

ooh, maybe the right hook is my favourite boxing move. Sorry to hear about your bfn.

Exciting news on the scan pop and Very Exciting News Shiny

Impressive BTB action Bean.

Sorry about CD1 Generic. Your pregnancy starts here.

smegs can you squeeze it? I often get ingrowing hairs around my bikini line, which can fester. And i do like a good squeeze. Or you could upload photos for the pus mavens. A strange MN sub culture if ever I saw one.

Welcome home sweetie and good work sparks. I'm afraid I can shed no light on charts.

Hello everyone else.

Perhaps you can all help me. I'm planning a dinner party (well, supper really) for Saturday. 10 of us, all adults. Will be out with kids all day, so needs to be preppable in advance. So far I'm thinking nettle and wild garlic soup, then morrocan chicken with green olives and preserved lemon in and couscous and carrot salad (all from Leon cookbook). But what to have for pudding? The food thread hasn't been its usual helpful self as they're too busy obsessing over HFW and kenwood mixers.

farfallarocks · 19/03/2012 13:22

Hi gals, I had a panic when I could not find you.

shiny that is excellent news and a good sign you were getting BFPs early. I also got this BFP early before AF unlike the others and I am choosing to believe that that is because its a nice strong bean, firing off HCG well before my womb started thinking about evicting it :) Keeping all crossed that this is your sticky one!

smegs good luck with HCG!!
stasi good to see you on here again, how are things going?

pop thanks for the snackajack tip, I will try those! I confessed all to mum , she is very happy but very cautious obviously. She had morning sickness for 5 months (!!) so I am hoping its not hereditary but she has given me the tip of eating a banana at the first hint of feeling off and I am happy to report good results with that!

sweetie that sounds like excellent rat smacketing.

generic very sorry about AF, the caw, let me at her.....
Sorry about the BFN maybe and Scarlett, boo hisss, but its not over till the fat lady sings!

cakes how are you doing? You must be almost 12 weeks now?

beangrower · 19/03/2012 13:40

Whimsi - a posh rice pudding (or too love/hate)? Some kind of fool. Or a baked cheesecake (night before)? I dunno. I'm such a lazy cook.

Generic - the cow-dung queen has been left-hooked and I gave her a quick crow-drop (my big brothers specialised in these - ow).

Scrambled - how frustrating. That does seem v early for ov. I really do recommend you try a bit of acupuncture - I ov'd early last month (cd11), complained to acupuncturist and am now not oving til cd14/15, which seems like progress. Your HSG is great news - still not heard if I'll ever get one - but boo to it being during 2ww. At least it could take the pressure off this month though..? If poss, try to put the FDN in the filing cabinet. Pgs have deffo happened to people I know who must have had low AMH. I feel a bit the same about DP's SA (as FD) - esp when combined with my age - but it still doesn't rule out pg. However, advice here has begun to sink in. Just have to see pg as a poss but not pin our every hope on it and essentially get on with life as it is with one lovely DC. It's taking a while but I'm honestly beginning to accept that this may be a v pleasant reality rather than a tough, upsetting one. Would love another but can live without one if that's the way the cookie crumbles. And will only have one teenager to survive!

Sweetie - so excited for you - all the right ingredients for a BFP. Fx.

Hi Far - you're glowing! xxx

Maybe - what seeds have you planted?

Pop - you are young and your next TTC will be v different to this experience, mark my words. Yes, I think mums are good to talk to about this stuff. Watch out if you don't want too narrow a gap between your DC - Whims has opinions on this one! So glad all going well with the kernel. Your second trimester will be lovely. Thanks

TTFN and apologies if I've missed anyone.

beangrower · 19/03/2012 13:45

Btw Maybe - you are pg surely (looking at your chart)?! Just waiting for the right pee-stick?

Smegs - I too have had those big bumps in groin. Was an in-grown hair for me but took ages to sort out and was quite painful. GPs is worth it if you're worried

whimsicalname · 19/03/2012 13:53

bean I have opinions on EVERYTHING

Especially things I know nothing about.

On which note, I am about to lecture undergraduates.
