A friendly, supportive thread for those of us who are taking a bloody long little longer time than average to conceive.

joycep - me, 32, DH 30. ttc 23 months (27/28 cycles). M/c @ 7 wks July 2010. Nothing since. Short LP of 10/11days (relevant? Who knows). Progesterone levels low [30]. Estrogen dominant, hypoglycaemia, Left ovary lazy but ovulate every month. HSG all clear. Low AMH for my age. Potassium levels low. Healthy BMI. 9 months of treatment including Clomid (messed me up), 2 x IUI, ovitrelle and gonal f injections. SA good (7%morph). Next step: Chicago tests, Lapascopy (if poss) , sperm fragmentation test and then ivf i guess.

minipie - me 31, DH 32, ttc 11 months but only on 10th cycle due to longish cycles. PCOS diagnosed by scan. Blood tests normal except slight underactive thyroid (now corrected with thyroxine). BMI normal. DH's SA had low morphology (3%) but otherwise good. No other tests or treatments yet (except acu). First appointment with gynae on 21 March...

Mrsden - me 30, soon to be 31, DH 31. TTC for 21 months. PCOS but ovulating ok most months. DH very low count, poor morphology. Will start ICSI in summer.

mrsden thank you for asking after me. I am not doing so good today, i have had some bleeding so called the EPU and they will see me tomorrow afternoon. I am hoping all is well but of course blood and pain in pregnancy as well as my lack of symptoms has me in a spin.

Massive Congrats to biscuits i hadnt realised you were due so soon!

Biscuitsandtea · 14/03/2012 17:21

Thank you ladies for your lovely words. MrsD we already had DS who's 3.6. Ethan is doing pretty well. He was born at just over 37 weeks (I wasn't due until the end of this month) and was 8lb 4. Labour was quick (good) but a bit brutal on exit Blush (bad). He seems to be feeding ok, and so far DS seems to still quite like him Wink. Sleeping is another matter but hey ho....

It does seem unreal that we finally got to this stage - we had really resigned ourselves to it not happening. I am still desperately hoping to see each one of you get your well deserved bfps.

Hope you don't mind if I carry on stalking y'all? xx

ladygee · 14/03/2012 17:34

Thanks for setting up our new home mrsd - may it be even luckier than the last. Four BFPs and a baby isn't bad going for 10 plussers! What an ending to the last thread too.

Nice to hear from you cakes and pixie - hope you're both well? And biscuits, can't believe that time has flown so quickly and your little boy is here, what a lovely name too - congratulations! Stalk away, it's nice to hear how you are too.

izzy sorry to hear you've had some bleeding, I hope everything is fine and that going to the EPU puts your mind to rest tomorrow.

ladygee ttc 15 months. Me 29, DH 32. DH SA is below average on all counts (don't remember all the stats). HSG showed blockage at the opening of my right tube. Self-funded cycle of IVF ICSI in Feb, ended with BFN. Awaiting follow-up appointment to talk through next steps. We are also on NHS waiting list for ICSI, probably at the end of 2012.

Biscuitsandtea · 14/03/2012 17:47

Good luck tomorrow Izzy - thinking of you xx

GinSoaked · 14/03/2012 17:51

Just popping in quickly, new thread wohoo! Just wanted to say a MASSIVE congratulations to fatima. That's such amazing news and I'm so so pleased for you. Hope you are having a lovely day.

Congrats to biscuits too! What a lovely name, hope you are all doing well.

Will update my stats when I have a mo, not that much has changed...

joycep · 14/03/2012 18:11

Oh izzy crossing fingers all is ok and it's just the bean nestling in.

Mrsd - hope you're enjoying your visitors. They thought my left ovary was missing but low and behold after 5 months I ovulates from the left and about 4 months later I ovulates again from that side.

whatmess · 14/03/2012 18:22

Hi ladies.
Thanks for setting up the new thread MrsD. Izzy I had bleeding with my first pregnancy and the result is sitting in the front room annoying the hell out of me with Dora the explorer at the moment, Fx all will be well.

I'm feeling a lot better. Had to go back to the docs as one of my wound sites got infected. Dissolvable stitches did not dissolve and had to be dug out instead. Sorry TMI. Bit sore again but otherwise good. DH comes home tomorrow, so we can finally start trying.

Oh yeah and house is an absolute tip, so guess what I will doing tonight?

citysnow · 14/03/2012 21:21

I'm joining in with the lurkers - Congratulations Fatima!!

lisacn · 14/03/2012 21:32

fatima MASSIVE congrats and happy birthday x

biscuits congrats to you too

izzy fingers crossed for tomorrow

Big Hello to everyone else

MuddyWellyNelly · 14/03/2012 21:58

Marking my place on the new thread! Congratulations on your lovely son biscuits. I am astonished you were at that stage already. TTC does seem to create a weird time bubble!

Hope you get good news izzy. As others have said, lots of reports on MN of bleeding leading to nothing; but scary for you nonetheless and definitely worth checking it out.

Spotting very light still, but definitely here. I usually get 3 days or so though. So that's something to look forward to Hmm

Quick general hello to everyone.

whereismywine · 14/03/2012 21:58

Well onto thread number 6. The last one was lucky I think and surpassed my workings out of a bfp a month. Happy happy birthday and bfp day Fatima! That is brilliant news Grin so happy for you. It's so different hearing pregnancy announcements on here! And huge congratulations to biscuits on baby Ethan (lovely name). Hope the brutal exit isn't feeling too sore! Do lurk away, it's lovely to hear baby news.

izzy all three of my friends who had babies last hear had bleeding at the 6-8 week mark and now all have boy babies. It must be scary and I hope you get your mind put at rest ASAP.

I got a bit teary eyed before when I read all of your lovely supportive words, they meant a lot. Being on here is very nourishing. I am mostly feeling numb and spectacularly barren. But, we have booked a short break away at the end of the month for sunshine and that has been a good distractor. I think it's going to be a long old journey and right now just thinking about it makes me feel tired. So mostly I'm trying not to. Thank you all for being so lovely, will try and do better keeping up x

kittysaysmiaow · 14/03/2012 23:24

mrsd thanks for setting up our new home :) may this thread be as fertile as the last!

Massive congrats to fatima on your BFP and biscuits on the birth of Ethan. Wonderful news.

izzy I hope it goes ok tomorrow.

wine big hugs to you.

Just popping in as in bed with hot water bottle. Horrid AF this time, feeling really quite ill. Letter from IVF clinic turned up today asking me to phone on next cycle day 1 to arrange all tests, so I've just missed that window and will have to do it in a month's time. At least things are moving in the right direction.

Waves to all X

Pixiepops · 15/03/2012 08:56

Congratulations Biscuit! 2 little boys, how lovely Grin

Really hope that all's well today Izzy.

Waves to everyone else. Hope this thread is as lucky (if not even a bit more) than the last Smile

mrsden · 15/03/2012 09:58

hope it all goes ok today izzy, I'll be thinking of you.

pout I forgot to say on the other thread that it all sounds like good news from your consultant's appointment and that you'll be getting somewhere now.

Thanks for the explanation about the lazy ovary joycep. I know that my right ovary has a lot more cysts than the left one so think it's my right that is the naughty one.

We don't want this thread to be like a bus, but the stats are useful to have at the start to remind us all where we're each up to. So please update yours if you get a minute. Also, pixie, city, izzy, biscuits please feel free to include yourselves with a big fat P so that our thread looks lucky Grin

I have survived a second night with guests. Happy to escape to work though. It's been a bit of a revelation because it's made me realise that I'm not really broody. Even though I want to be pregnant so badly Confused. I find the baby cute but I have no urge to fuss and coo over him. Do you think this is normal? DH said he feels the same and that it would be totally different with our own. Babies are very hard work and exhausting. And they make such a mess. Maybe I should stick with the cat.

OP posts:
mrsden · 15/03/2012 10:00

also just to add, does anyone else find it depressing that this is part 6? 5000 posts and no BFP for me.

OP posts:
joycep · 15/03/2012 11:32

Mrsd - I think that is totally normal. I actually find it differs from one child to the next. Some I just feel a real bond with and others I dont feel anything for. I still melt when I see puppies and cute dogs but babies not all that much. Still desperate for my own though!
Yes that is very depressing we are on the 6th thread. And I was incessantly googling last night and somehow ended up on our very first ttc6+ month thread. That was a harsh reminder that I am no further forward and many of those people who were there must now have babies. Sob sob. One day Mrsd though it will have to be our time!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 15/03/2012 12:14

Morning ladies,

Happy 6th thread?!? Let's hope it continues as successfully as the previous one. Or more so. Agree with you joycep and mrsd it is depressing not to have moved forward in all this time... But I am having high hopes of stuff happening in this one, as many of us are moving towards treatment or may just have needed more time. Because most of us will get our BFP, but it does start to feel like we may need some help. Although older people at work were discussing that previously you did not get investigated until after trying at least for 2 years. Imagine that... So every natural BFP before month 24-7 or so would still be considered normal and fertile, so we should not forget that these things do happen.

Anyhow, I am impressed with your coping mrsd and I also agree that broodiness is not a prerequisite for really wanting your own, and I have noticed even nephews are v different, because they share genetics and are somehow more your own. (In other words, there are a rather surprising number of babies I do not find remotely interesting, even if cute, although of course I pretend otherwise, if I like the parents).

Hope all is ok with you izzy.

Massive congrats on Ethan's birth biscuits. And lovely to have you and the recent pgs drop by. There is light at the end of our tunnel! Do lurk as much as you like, although I guess you have your hands quite full at the moment!

Right, I'll update my stats and then do some more work!! Waves to all you lovely ladies. Btw I did not test yesterday as I correctly second guessed they were only getting me in to educate some junior docs to check on painlevels and things, and there was no X-ray done.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 15/03/2012 12:16

lemondrizzle - both 33, TTC for 21 months, unexplained, trying IUI next.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/03/2012 16:33

Quick post to update.Been to epu. Looks like I've lost the baby :( had scan and sonographer said bluntly there's something in your womb but looks like retained products. Got blood taken to check hormone level, will retest either sat or Mon to make sure it falls.

minipie · 15/03/2012 16:42

Oh NO izzy. Oh I'm so so sorry, what awful news. Hugs seem totally inadequate but sending you some anyway. Is there any hope it's a false alarm?

Pixiepops · 15/03/2012 16:43

Oh Izzy I'm so sorry to hear that. I really hope that the sonographer is mistaken and the blood results come back ok. In the mean time look after yourself. Big hugs Sad

lisacn · 15/03/2012 17:02

izzy I'm so sorry to hear that, I hope the sonographer is wrong, big hugs x

joycep · 15/03/2012 17:40

Izzy - I am so sorry. Please look after yourself. I am sorry that the Sonographer was so blunt and matter of fact about your loss. As others have said I hope she is mistaken.
