Argh, and be welcome to our new pirate Fred. Be finding yourself a parrot and a wooden leg and hop on board for the trip of a lifetime. Argh.
If ye be new and wantin' to join our motley crew, be filling in the BESHtionnaire application below. Argh.

That's a "c", right there...

Came on to say hope today ok dor. I had a lap and dye, so no advice for doing it awake, but sure you'll be ok in the end!

How did I miss drizzel breaking a bone? You know, these BESH threads can move too quickly for my little brain.

Good work cracking on with it all bugs. I can't remember what you said- have you used the ov sticks before with any success? After my forays into the world of ov POAS, I have to admit I have a sneaking suspicion its all a cunning ploy. Random allocation of sticks with varying depths of colour of second line for the amusement of, well, someone... It's random I tell you, random.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 14/03/2012 08:08

Oh and northey. I luff Paris. My French is shit, but still. Springtime in Paris

CaveMum · 14/03/2012 08:09

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Ahoy ye scurvy wenches!

Quick bit of charting advice required: my charts are normally like mountain ranges, up and down, up and down. This month however, since ov it has gone up and stayed level. I'm currently 10dpo and the last 5 days have all given out the same reading, so my chart looks like a plateau rather than a mountain range! Anyone else had this before?

[trying (and failing) not to fuel the menkul]

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 14/03/2012 08:12

cavey AFAIK, it should look like that! Fairly straight after ov peak....
Good luck dottie, just think of your holiday after.u

OP posts:
CaveMum · 14/03/2012 08:48

Ta Faithy, perhaps a sign that my body is starting to behave as it should!

Dor, hope all goes well for you today.

Right, I'm off to plunder some treasure (aka furniture shopping with HWHNN). Arrrrr!

KatAndKit · 14/03/2012 08:51

I agree cavey from what I have seen of charts the temp rise after ovulation is supposed to stay up until just before droid. If it's still up at 16dpo then that is a most excellent sign. The temp staying up after ovulation is a sign that your progesterone levels are high and is a reasonably good indication that the drucks have worked and made you lay an egg.

Good luck today dottie thinking of you. Hope it is not too unpleasant this morning and you have a lovely mini holiday afterwards. You deserve a nice break.

bugs IUI is intrauterine insemination. The man jizzes in a pot. You lie down on the bed at the doctors without your knickers on. The jizz is "introduced" into your body. Dunno if they just syringe it into the vagina (seems pointless why not just do the sechs?) or if they introduce it past your cervix. That would make sense. Also people who want or need to use a sperm donor often have this procedure done if there are no female fertility issues so IVF not necessary.

Morning wenches - I already had a meeting Hmm and woke up at hideous o'clock to stress about work. The low-down is there is not many jobs in my area and it might mean a large change... Not keen if I am honest. But hey, mortgage and all that, so I guess I just have to bite the bullet.

It was not you bugs and sinking it was me... I arrived on the previous fred wif a broken bone (some of you just didn't notice). It was a bicycle accident as part of my get-fit-before IUI regime. Which failed completely and utterly. Because I have done no exercise and eating lots of cake since breaking that bone on the second time I took the bike for a spin. Desperate to get back on, but still in some pain...

And we're offered IUI on a trial basis, I believe, as it sometimes help with unexplained and is much less invasive than IVF. I get a few natural cycles because my cycle seems perfect and we are relatively young in infertility-stakes (33).

I thought the HSG was a lot of fuss about not that much. The most traumatic part was that SB left the room with my bag (and the normal sized pad in it) before I got dressed, so I had to make do with the industrial monster-sized pad. Not a fan of them. Really hope yours is as okay as mine was. I enjoyed seeing the stuff on screen as well. Ovaries are really rather small... Afterwards have a lovely few days away, dot.

Sad about the fire and the memories faith.

Well done for what sounds like a perfect graph cave.

Paris is LOVELY norf - I want to go again...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 14/03/2012 10:02

Oh and to add to kat's perfect description, the jizz gets syringed in past the cervix. That is kind of the point. Into the uterine cavity as it were...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 14/03/2012 13:11

Random additonal info, iui is also supposed to be helpful with male infertility. They can spin the sperm to get the good ones and then pop them where they need to be. Twas one thing our GP mentioned when we first got MSB's SA results.
I am certain I have uti/kidney infection. Dipped my urine at work and it's got stuff in it. GP appt after work.

Well that procedure wasn't too bad. I have to admit that my consultant is absolutely lovely and has a brilliant bedside manner!

The scan showed that my tubes were all clear which is great news! I am on CD4 but the doctor thinks that my cycle is a bit irregular anyway so he has suggested that I just get on with Clomid straight away. I am pretty happy with that because I thought I was going to have to wait another month.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 14/03/2012 14:27

That's good news dor :) glad it went ok. Pleased to here you're getting the clomid, do you feel a bit more positive? Have a luffly holiday now, go and enjoy it!

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 14/03/2012 14:44

Yeah I feel OK I think. Just hoping now that something works!

CaveMum · 14/03/2012 15:08

Good news Dor Grin

I meant to say, re my chart, that I know the temperature is supposed to stay high, above the baseline, which it usually does, but mine normally bounces around by up to 0.3 of a degree within that range. This cycle my temps have been exactly the same, 36.7, for 5 days in a row, which is not normal for me.

Got my Day 21 bloodtest back (taken on Day 23) and I had a lovely 67.9, which is good news!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 14/03/2012 18:57

That's what I meant cavey! I've rarely had a totally flat line with the same temp for days in a row but it can happen. Brilliant blood test result! You must be happy with that?
Well my GP agrees with my self-diagnosis of uti. Definitely not diffed, she did check. So now on antibiotics. Worst thing is I can't drink on my bil's birthday night out Saturday. Not that bothered about not drinking, more the Hmm faces of is she diffed and hiding it? If only :(

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 14/03/2012 19:16

You can drink with most antibiotics. Just don't get shit-faced. Metronidazole is the one you definitely not drink on tho.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 14/03/2012 21:01

Yeah, I'll drink minimally. Everyone else will be so wasted after a certain point then I can switch to soft drinks and they won't notice!

OP posts:
Northey · 14/03/2012 22:07

Poor faith. UTIs can be vile. Is it a bad attack? Thank God for antibiotics. And you are right - no one will really notice if you are drinking or not after a while. And you can always give the impression that your glass of soda water has got vodka in it or your coke has got rum.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 14/03/2012 22:22

It's not the worst I've had but it's not far off. Can't walk too well due to the back pain and abdomen cramps. Really can't take tomorrow off, I'm teaching and there's no-one who can cover for me! But I think I'll take some time owing Friday. I'll be fine when the antibiotics kick in. Enough mememe how is everyone?

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 14/03/2012 22:26

Hope you feel better soon faith. I offered to drive at a hen do, because I'm nice, and now, it seems, the goss is I'm diffed. Awesome.

Excellent news on the 67.9 cave. Can we be menkul tww buddies

Northey · 15/03/2012 07:48

Get up, ye lazy fo'c'sle hands!

Nothing exciting to report here, except that I am eating for England. PMS? Diffedness? Just the usual greediness? Probably the last.

Are the antibiotics kicking in yet, fee?

FriendofDorothy · 15/03/2012 07:48

Well I started taking magic Clomid tablets. Obviously I am going to get diffed straight away. It's how it works innit?

Northey · 15/03/2012 07:54

Congratulations! And yes. That is definitely how it works. Are they monitoring you at all?

sinkingflameofhilarity · 15/03/2012 08:08

Yup dor. In fact you don't need to take them, just waft them under your nose.

FriendofDorothy · 15/03/2012 08:14

I have to go back next Thursday I think to have another scan.

Also, does anyone know if Clomid would make my temp shoot straight up? I took my temp this morning and it was really high.

In other news.... The Mister and I are going to the zoo today! :D
