There's cake for scoffing, backs for patting, and screeching death metal for all your METALLING moments. All welcome!

Our last thread reached 1000 posts so i hope you have all found your way here! I have steaming hot Brew chocolate croissants (or as my colleague said 'chocolate pasties'), blueberry muffins, grapefruit segments and hot buttered toast for brekkie!

Settle into the mosh pit, we have special VIP area's for those on the 2WW, the new bumps metalling with segregated areas for the first/second/third trimesters and the club class cocktail bar for those who have just got AF and can get-pissed let loose for the first two weeks!

I usually get cramps and very mild boob ache, but this is definitely more intense than usual (and lacking the cramps). I went swimming earlier and in the shower afterward it was powerful) my boobs were definitely unhappy.

It may just be a side effect of the Pregnacare maybe. I appreciate I have no scientific basis for that last statement, of course.

JaffaSnaffle · 28/02/2012 10:08

tiago I hope you get out to chemist and get good news.

tits, you have more discipline than me.

My ics arrived yesterday. I have done 2 and they both have the faintest of faint lines on. I am not sure if this is just ic being rubbish quality or the real thing. I am 11dpo. I did a test at weekend and it was negative, so think it is not mc hangover. I will believe more when I get darker lines I suppose. Definitely not sure yet, but passed on coffee this morning.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 28/02/2012 10:36

Oh jaffa, sounds promising!

pebspop · 28/02/2012 10:46

jaffa

my ic's didn't give me a darker line. i was stressing out thinking the worst (as usual) but the girls on here said they don't get dark for ages.

get a proper test of you have a faint line on ic. i got a clearblue digi and it came up 2-3 weeks.

BlueCrane · 28/02/2012 11:05

Morning all! Apologies for being awol again! I see there's a lot to catch up on...

Firstly tas I am so so sorry for your Sad news and really hope all goes as well as it can today and that you get good news about the other tube, and that op recovery is ok and fairly speedy at least on the physical side - I suspect the emotional impact of this will take quite a while longer.

tits what a PITA for you trekking all that way only to be sent home Angry sorry you've not been feeling well either but here's hoping your DP has some extra insight here eh Smile and that you get some good news in the next week.

IQ Grin for reaching 'term'. I must say I'm not looking forward to the 'waiting for it all to happen bit' when I get to that stage but TBH the whole TTC and pregnancy thing seems to be an endurance test in patience anyway so we should all be pretty well practiced by then!! How is your Grandad doing?

Frozen Grin for your scan - fab news!

pebs hope the metalling isn't driving you too crazy! Hang in there!

marbles fab news on your job - well done! Hope all goes well with HR sorting the details out!

jaffa as pebs said I would get yourself a digi to check with...I always used IC's as a cheap POAS before using an expensive one if I thought there was a line. The IC's often stay pretty faint! Keep us posted!

tiago popping out sounds like a plan...though buy a pack of two if you can as you'll probably want to test again in the morning with FMU! Let us know how you get on!

manda sounds as though I might need to get the details of this Chez Bruce place...we're in west London so it can't be too far away from us can it?! Hope your LO is feeling a bit better too!

Waves to marthas and everyone else I've missed!

All is well in the land of mini-crane...still practicing for the kick boxing championships in there and growing rather speedily, so much so that I am rapidly running out of work clothes that fit though it might be linked to cake consumption as well Blush

whatsoever · 28/02/2012 11:20

Quick pitstop to say so sorry to hear your news tas and I hope the surgery is swift, as painless as possible and all goes to plan.

Bluecrane I would love some lemon drizzle cake but I strongly suspect it would be wasted on me and end up in a pile by my desk (feeling pretty pukey today). Sad

Nearly fainted on the underground yesterday and had to collapse in a heap at the top of the escalators at Euston station and sit on the floor in a very undignified manner. Felt pretty ropey since then. Absolutely cannot wait for the early scan on Saturday as if it is going OK I can at least feel like I feel hellish for a very good reason.

BlueCrane · 28/02/2012 11:26

whatso take it easy and don't push yourself...try and keep drinking lots of water too! When I was about 10.5 weeks we went to NYC and I pretty much passed out/collapsed on the subway there and spent a while slumped on the floor of the station trying to sort myself out! I think that overheating and dehydration as well as standing for too long can really take it's toll in the early days and so frustrating! is there any way that you could arrange to go into work a little later each day to avoid the rush hour? Though that would mean telling work which you may still not want to given that it's still early days! How about some ginger cake instead?

whatsoever · 28/02/2012 11:35

Thanks bluecrane I think ginger cake could be just the ticket Smile

Luckily I don't live/work in London, it was just a training day down there yesterday so I don't have to deal with the tube normally. I'm hoping to avoid telling work until and unless the 12 week scan is OK as I hated having to tell everyone the bad news last time - the awkwardness was unbearable.

leedy · 28/02/2012 12:41

Thinking of you today, tas.

And tiago, that sounds quite, well, positive.

Meanwhile, in "my body is confusing me" news, I am on day 3 of my period but my temps are still way up. Residual progesterone? I have also bought high dose B vits, as instructed! Got a small tub of B50 just to see how that goes, then will try B100 when I'm finished with that if I don't go numb/have not managed to get pg in the meantime.

Tiago · 28/02/2012 13:58

OMFG - it's positive. The bloomin' line started showing before the control did! And unlike the last two ties, it is not an apologetic barely there line - it's a definitely there line.

Poppyjen · 28/02/2012 14:02

Wow congratulations Tiago!

farfallarocks · 28/02/2012 14:05

tiago wonderful news on the big fat positive, hurray. We can be mentallingbuddies

leedy there is a section in the Taking Charge book about that, and it was a vanishing twin or something like that. Sorry I am not a charter so can;t advise, but maybe worth doing a test?

leedy · 28/02/2012 14:07

Wooooooooo, tiago! Delighted for you!

far, I had thought about doing a test (especially as I'm also exhausted) but then thought it was a mad idea. Perhaps if someone shares my madness I should give it a go. :)

I can also report that high dose B vits smell of Marmite.

farfallarocks · 28/02/2012 14:09

Oh yes, and have you experienced the bright neon pee yet?

BlueCrane · 28/02/2012 14:10

Grin tiago fab news...

leedy all sounds a bit odd (not a charter here either but am sure that from what I've herad here on MN that temps are supposed to drop when AF comes to hear the confusion!) When did you last test?

leedy · 28/02/2012 14:11

Hmm, Dr Internet says it's more likely to be residual progesterone as I suspected, though could be pregnancy. I suppose if they're still up tomorrow I might sacrifice an expensive pg test to the fertility gods....

leedy · 28/02/2012 14:11

Have not yet encountered the neon wee but have high hopes....

NoMoreMarbles · 28/02/2012 14:31

ooo tiago excellent news!! Grin

leedy i would test too but im a serial tester...

tas thinking of you today xx

i have been having AF symptoms today (no AF tho...)Hmm heavy achey boobs, period-y type pains...i am on CD 23 and if this cycle is "normal" i wont get Af for another 8 days. going by my last 'cycle' i could be due any time now...it was 20 days of total WTFing...i feel like i Oved on CD13 going by CM etc and DH and I SWIed ALOT this month too...my LP is usually 11/12 days so going by that Af could be due in a few days...someone slap me please...

JaffaSnaffle · 28/02/2012 14:32

Hurray for Tiago!!!! Great news!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 28/02/2012 14:40

Excellent news tiago! :)

I am getting thoroughly grumpy with the 2ww now and I still have 9 days to go! I have spent the last week crampy and irritable so I am fully having a whinge.

whatsoever · 28/02/2012 15:02

tiago congrats! A BFP when you're trying to talk yourself out of the possibility to avoid disappointment is one of the best kinds Grin

InsomniaQueen · 28/02/2012 15:38

tas thinking of you today and sending you lots of hugs and kind thoughts from here!! Xxx

marbles well done on the new job - very exciting!!! As for slapping you, I can't quite bring myself to it but I'm sure Martha will be along soon and she is very good at that sort of thing. She was very encouraging forceful when I wasn't sure whether to re-test after getting a BFP with IC's.

Jaffa I'm on pins and needles here - I used IC's and the line with those are faint - fully agree with blue about going down the CB Digi route, that way you get a clear yes or no. Not that, that prevents metalling but it will tell you either way.

frozen brilliant scan news.....hope it all continues positively for you and remember to up date us how you get on even if you do move to another thread!!!

whatso Glad you dont have to make that trip regularly, feeling faint is very disconcerting in pg because you worry about falling and being helpless.

leedy not really sure what to say about those temps but will wait to hear from you tomorrow with everything crossed for you.

blue gramps is feeling much better thanks, he is managing to leave the house which is a huge step forward although his weight hasn't improved very much. As for reaching term it actually feels the best part of this whole pregnancy. I spent weeks in agony with back, hips, PGP and then the threat of a ruptured hernia and ending up with no baby at all - I'm feeling quite serene about it all now. Everyone has been telling me how much these days would drag and how much I will be fed up and want her out but I really dont. I suppose they don't really know how blessed I feel right now - knowing that if she comes now she will be fine makes me feel like I'm walking on air!!!! Even though I'm heavier, it's harder to get around, I'm in more pain and sleeping less I know that in under 5 weeks (if all goes to plan) I will be carrying a baby home - knowing how stressful this process has been and knowing how much all of you have suffered to get BFPs makes me just think that I'm lucky and this is a very beautiful time in my life and I can finally enjoy it all. The days are whizzing by and I'm loving it to be honest, lots of naps and sky+ have helped me fill me fill my days!! Wink

AND a huge bunch of Thanks to tiago OMFG......I saw your post and squealed so loudly I woke the dog.....he is currently giving me the evil eye but I don't care Grin Grin Grin!!!! How is your OH taking it??

Now I must get back on my gym ball as my back is killing me and being sat on the sofa like a big lump is not helping me at all!!

Love to all xxx

PieMistress · 28/02/2012 16:16

Ditto IQ's squealing on tiago's BFP :) :) :) That is amazing! And right after your open session at the IVF clinic! That must have prompted your body into action! Were you doing anything differently this month (vits, asprin etc)?

I am so happy for you! Whoop diddy whoop whoop!!

pebspop · 28/02/2012 18:14

congrats tiago!! hope you don't need to join me in the mosh pit!

i am still spotting but not really worrying about it. what can i do?? if it's gone wrong nothing can change it and if it hasn't i will have to just get used to this spotting. i have had it since cd23 so over three weeks now.

i will probably start the moshing on thursday night, although i am going out for a meal with some girlfriends so that will keep my mind off the scan.

Tiago · 28/02/2012 18:21

Pie that's what I was thinking - that Sod's law would hopefully come into play. I have now cancelled the private appointment that we had arranged to see the consultant.

Pebs I stared taking the Pregnacare conception vitamins a month and a half ago (and DH started the male version), so that may have helped. Also, we 'carried on' a while after the OPK positive - which I think was the main point.

IQ - beautiful flowers, thank you. DH is taking it very well (though is still trying to calm me down). I was going to wait to tell him tonight when I got home, but couldn't resist the lure of the telephone (or the ablity to send a picture of he test to him) Grin.

If all goes well (which I know is a big, big, if), and I take the average ofthe various due date calculators that I have tried, then it will be a Bonfire Night baby.
