Welcome holldoll and welcome to the world of stress and mentalling that is this thread ! We're a good bunch who can hopefully help with advice (not my forte!!) or just send u hugs (I'm great at that !!)

Well I'm off to Newcastle today for a seminar with DH, not my idea of fun but he didn't want to go without me incase I go into labour (would be just my luck miles away from home !!) and it's a very important meeting. Don't worry car is loaded with everythi g for the hospital !!

Have a lovely day ladies xGrin

freelancegirl · 01/03/2012 08:06

Oh my goodness it is so difficult to keep up when I miss a day here! I was at a shoot all day yesterday and came back (after a quick stop at PQ?s to pick up some baby bits from her friend) practically crippled with tiredness ? spent a lot of the day rushing around and holding microphones in awkward positions over people?sheads.

So I missed two (albeit cautious of coirse) BFPs!!! Congratulations Belly D and Sue! It is Step no1 on this Making a Pred Baby course and it is indeed a great achievement. I know it is the beginning of a whole load of mentalling but it is also a necessary step to end goal.

Talking of which, cautious congratulations to you too Holi! It?s lovely to have you here, please do stay and mental with us as that is what we are all here for. There are a couple of people who are in their later trimesters who haven?t started the Pred until getting a BFP and even haven?t had it at all so try not to worry about startng it a bit later (assuming you started it at 6 weeks when you saw Mr S?).

BTW ? all these appointments with Mr S ? I thought he was off for surgery? Evidently not. Not that I have an appointment for a while ? 16th March is my next with him- or rather with his team at Epsom General (EGH as they call it).

Good luck woth the scan too Holi. It?s so nerve wracking going for any scan but I realise that first one is epcaielly nerve racking as you want ot know that eveeything is there and in the right place.

Right ? what else.

Merc I have been taking selenium all this pregnamcy as read the same too. I read that the dosage should be higher than the amount in Pregnacre so am taking an additional tablet on top, like with Vitamin D3.

Glad to see yesterday that PQ had stopped spotting and was not doing too badly at all.

Dunnit, try not to worry about the nausea coming and going. It did for me all throughout the first trimester and beyond. Only really stopped at around week 18!

Hello again Zoe ? glad you had the appointment. Interesting about them saying they were no longer doing he intralipids. I know treatment has been different for everyone but it will be interesting to see if having had a bit of success so far with the Hydroxy they now feel this is a lot better than the intralipids. I will ask him when I see him next too. It might just be that everyone is different. Were your levels high or very high before? I wonder if they will have changed.

Sorry about all the BFNs and frustrations with TTC. Hope that the recent BFPs go some way to reassuring everyone, especially as there have been a few super ov BFPs too!

Right, shall I do the list so it?s up to date?

freelancegirl · 01/03/2012 08:20

Am hoping Brownie is ok, haven't heard from her for ages. Does anyone remember what date it was we all met around Nov/Dec? I remember that she was 15 weeks then. Her dates seem to have slipped off the list.

Also I think Battery is due a 16 week scan this week?

Haven't heard from Coley for ages too - hope you're ok?

Need dates from newbies Holi and also Frozen and also newbie BFPs Sue and BellyD. Sorry if you weren't ready to go up the list but I couldn't leave you in 'waiting to test' and I know when I got a BFP it just helped that someone else upped my name - as I probably would have remained too freaked out to do it myself! Please can you both add your days, or let me know so I can add them?

Hello everyone :) Sorry for absence - i was on a course all weekend and then a 24 hour shift but am around for a bit now!

Lovely to hear of some bfps! Don't forget mine was so faint that when I went to the clinic and they tested - they told me it was negative! So some do start off weak but soon develop. I call mine my slow burner :)
dunnit I think I must have had about a week of nausea and that was it. Your mantra should be 'symptoms come and go' - I had to tell myself that regularly.
PQ - any more splodges? I had splodges too, sometimes it's just the baby settling in xx
ari sorry for the frustration and bfn. God it's so awful. I know that when anyone announces a bfp, even though you are happy for them - it's hard not to think 'why not me???' - You will get there but we all know how the frustration can be overwhelming xx
kittens Big hugs to you - it is so your turn for a bfp. How I wish we could all just be pregnant and have a worry free pregnancy xx
free How are you now? Have you decided to find out the sex of the baby? I don't want to but dp is curious.!

From me : Yes I did have a 16 week scan yesterday. All was ok, baby was hanging upside down Hmm and amnio is booked for next week.

Hello to everyone else, I know i have missed people but find it impossible to go through everyone! xx

snoopygirl · 01/03/2012 12:21

Morning all,

What a gorgeous day now fog lifted. Finally got a decent nights sleep and hoping that was the worst of it for this month. If it had gone on another night think I would have contacted Louise to get me off the bloody stuff (pred that is). I really want to be on Hydroxy instead now I've heard all good things about it.

Welcome Holl
dunnit, PQ & Holl good luck for your scans. I can sympathise I would be terrified too. Be strong and take a deep breathe. let us know how it goes.

Great scan news battery your well on your way now! Smile.

snoopygirl · 01/03/2012 12:26

Hey look we have about 36 on this thread now!! there was about 20 in Oct when I first came on here.

battery just read your thread good luck with amnio.

free how does it feel to be collecting baby stuff Smile

zoeella · 01/03/2012 12:28

Yes I thought it was strange as intrlipids is common Protocol for high NKs or so I thought. My levels were V.high 2.8. I think if my levels come back still high with the intralipids & steroids in my body I shall ask about the hydroxy I won't know until 6 week follow up so can't wait for that. Having all level 1s repeated to confirm PCOS but I just had a + on ovulation stick so I don't think I have it, always have regular period zero symptoms etc. Think we have decided 2 TTC naturally for now with pred & monthly drips x

mercator · 01/03/2012 13:38

Battery Congrats on the scan and good luck with the amnio.

FrozenNorthPole · 01/03/2012 13:59

Just sneaking in to say had a scan today that put me at 10+6/11 weeks so will update my details. Cautious congrats to the new BFPs and fingers crossed for sticky pregnancies. at Batteryhen (she reassured me on a thread about my initial low betas when I was mentalling most severely) x x x I hope to do actual personals tonight Grin

PQ77 · 01/03/2012 14:08

yes, good news battery! Will be thinking of you for the amnio too. a 24 hour shift is not my idea of fun by the way, hope you are not too tired (i assume you do get to lie down at some point??!)

good news bellyd that's great. how are things today sue? Not long till your scan dunnitt - holding my breath for you.

welcome holldoll - keep us posted once you've had your scan.

thanks for all the positive news about the brown spotting. no more signs the last couple of days, but no symptoms at all really (which could of course be the pred) save for slightly bigger boobs - but of course I had all the symptoms with two mmc in the past so going to try to stop speculating until next Thursday. Hah. Fat chance.

igggi a cold when pregnant is just the worst. poor you. I remember taking psuedoephedrine for the first time in about 4 years last year (as had been pregnant or bfeeding or pregnant for so long) and thinking WOW proper cold medication rocks - and wondering why people bothered with illegal drugs when you could buy this over the counter!

digitalgirl · 01/03/2012 14:31

battery glad scan went well. Isn't upside down a good thing though? Fingers very very tightly crossed for your amnio.

frozen lovely to hear more positive scan news from you too! Only a couple more weeks till you're out of the scary first trimester!

pq no more splodges = good. Lack of symptoms = typical pred 1st trimester. I had NO symptoms other than heavy boobs. Maybe one day of nausea.

bellyd whispered congrats on the BFP! Rooting for you.

welcome holldoll and whispered non-fate tempting congrats to you too! I think coconut started her pred at 6 weeks and she's third trimester!

sue how are you today? Did you crack and do another test? I found leaving 2-4 days between tests meant I could see a more obvious darkening of the line.

picolina glad to hear scan confirmed a complete mc. Is it possible that you've ovulated since and that's why your lining is so thick? Better thick than thin though, isn't it?

iggi sorry to hear you've got another cold Sad. It feels so much worse being ill when pregnant.

stogan can't believe your induction is NEXT FRIDAY!!!!! Aaaargh!!!!! I'm so excited for you. But also a bit scared because once you've popped that means I'm next on the list!

Have got my under-the bump jeggings on today. Which, when they're not falling down are actually properly digging into my bump which is now really quite low I'm worried I'm going to end up with one of those fat fannies that you see on some women who really shouldn't wear jeans.

Dunnitt · 01/03/2012 14:55

battery Lovely news on the 16wk scan. Did they give you a 16 wk scan on the NHS or did you have to go private for that? NHS usual protocal being 12 then nothing until 20.

batteryhen · 01/03/2012 15:33

dunnitt - My consultant offered me the 16 week scan for reassurance. I think he was quite horrified at my last mmc - and could only tell me 'it shouldn't have happened' that he said - 'next time you get pregnant we will scan you whenever you like' So I am very lucky. However I was reflecting yesterday that the more scans you have the more mental you become - such as the thigh bone being a bit short, little leaky heart valve etc BUT I am still glad I have had the scans or my nerves would be shot to pieces :)

batteryhen · 01/03/2012 15:55

frozen Nice to see you here too :)

I can't believe that in a wek or so we are going to have out first thread baby :) - and then digi - you're up!!

holldoll · 01/03/2012 16:42

Thanks for all the warm wishes. PQ we are at the same sort of point waiting for the first scan, its awful as do not want to wish time away but also struggling to get through the next few days! when is your scan and good to hear the spotting has eased.
HOw did you guys cope with the lack of symptoms on pred? I seem to fluctuate from feeling very tired at night to being ok, boobs are sometimes sore but not all the time and no nausea (which I did not have with my DS1 anyway)
digi that sounds reassuring about not starting pred till 6 weeks.

Good luck with all those testing and having scans. Hope to see Stogen's news soon also!

I have added myself to list with dates

LMAO at digis fat fanny comment Pah ha ha GrinGrinGrin love it (only coz it's exactly how I feel infact not sure it's still there haven't seen it for a number of months now !!GrinGrin)

Yeah Digi u will soon be popping too aaarrrgghhh how exciting (and scary) isn't it !!

Fab scan news frozen that's what we like to see xxx

picolina123 · 01/03/2012 19:39

digital i have no idea about having ovulated, im still showing pregnant on my tests, vv faint though, i think most of it will come out with my first period , im still spotting as well

freelancegirl · 01/03/2012 21:00

Bloody hell Digi - you have a point - can't believe Stogan is being induced next friday too!!! Aggh! How long do these things tend to take (is that a 'piece of string' question?). I don't mean labour, even my rudimentary knowledge affords me the knowledge that IS a piece of string situation, I mean how long do inductions take to kick in on average?

You may or may not be a fat fanny Digi but at least you look pregnant. I just look fat! In the last couple of days I have noticed people's eyes travelling down to my tummy trying to work out whether there is someone in there or I am just a bloater. I am rather tempted to get one of those Baby On Board badges for the trains.

Pico frustrating to still show with faint positives. I think these things take quite a while to get out of our systems.I spotted for ages after a natural mc in March last year, just as I had stopped bleeding I got a period! Very draining in all senses.

Holi and Frozen thanks for adding to the list. It's great to have all you both on here and also to get your info on list. You will find it handy to look back and see where everyone is. It's also comforting and encouraging to see people moving up and successful pregnancies developing.

Waves too to third trimester gal iggi! Sorry about the cold, but think of all the NK cells you must have wiped out to get one :)

Nice to see you here Battery. A 24 hour shift?! Goodness, I thought my day was tough the other day. You must have been exhausted. Yes scans can cause a lot of worry. I found my Doppler was useful between scans but I need a new battery for it as DH has stolen it back for something (he gave it to me in the first place). After a long hard think about it I think we won't be asking the sex of the baby. I don't know why, I think I just fancy the surprise. Have to say I am feeling rather nervous about it all now, just worrying that having got this far it will all go wrong at scan day.

PQ is your scan next Thursday - is that with Mr S? We all have our fingers crossed for you. Thanks for the info re the NCT scale - I definitely want to go to next one. Am going to see friends in Oxfordshire on Saturday after a quick whizz around three house viewings.

For all those in early pregnancy yes Mr S is adamant that the Pred masks symptoms so try not to add the lack of symptoms to the mentalling list. Tough I know! I actually felt quite nauseous for a good few weeks but that is also one of the main side effects of hydroxy. Doesn't seem to be working now though - have started to eat for England!

Who asked whether it was weird for me to pick up baby things? Snoopy I think. Yes it was! We have put them in the spare room and not looked at them since :) Glad you are finally getting some sleep, the Pred is definitely not all fun, fun, fun...

I am starting to get quite regular tiny thumps from down there now. I still cant work out whether i can feel them with my hand as every time I put my hand down there naughty Thumper seems to stop. I would like DH to be able to feel it. I was in the bath earlier though and saw the water flip up a bit when I got a thump! It was really funny.

I've was busy earlier and went out for a lovely afternoon tea with a friend who I haven't seen for ages (she's been away and now lives up north). Afterwards we had a wander round the shops (Oxford Circus at rush hour!) and by the time I made my way home with all the commuters I was fair exhausted! I realise it's not a 24 hours shift though...

Ooh look! A killer cell success story from the local Brighton paper. Looks like she was seen by a clinic in Hove, I imagine after Chicago tests:

How lovely to hear another success story.

Free you should try to contact that lady for your doc... Does anyone else think the description in the article of these mysterious previously unheard of things called NKCs is almost quaint? I mean in the sense that we will all read it and go "yeah NKCs ok, yep we know all about them..."

Hey battery, glad things are all looking good. I'd have needed 40 Pred to get through a 24 hour shift!

More BFPs too, yay! It's the crucial first step, followed by plenty of mentalling to be sure, but we have to keep believing we'll get there sometime.

I'm sorry to say I've got Glee on while surfing MN. Helen Mirren is doing voice over for Becky- Queen's voice doing teen slang, it is hilarious. (dh is out...)

Aww what a lovely story free seriously thinking about going to the local paper with my story once we know everything is ok as so many people seem to be having miscarriages around me at the moment (probably not the case but I'm just more aware of it now) and I REALLY want to help !!

As for the induction it depends. They take me in and examine me at 2.30 then try to break my waters. If nothing then they give me the pessary, same as You have with medical management so I'm confident this should work as has worked for me 3 tomes in the past, but if not I will be put on a drip to try to bring on contractions. Basically can take anywhere from an hour (extremely lucky people) to 48 hours (probably me !!) and then failing that they would look at forceps, ventouse and eventually c section. Of course I would rather my baby came naturally before then but it seems my tummy has become a settled home for my child and it doesn't want to leave !!Grin

Great story free. That's a lot of m/c's and the moral of the story is don't give up I spose! (sorry i don't sound very convincing!).

Woo hoo movement! You wait till you get near the end it's like an episode of Alien when your having a bath!! Smile
